Our friendship definitely had bumps in the road.

Big time bumps.

Remember our first time seeing each other after Battle of the Bands?

We had no idea what to expect. We had just become friends.

I was so nervous.

I wanted the first thing I said to be memorable and extraordinary.

I felt the pressure too. Opening up to friends was new to me.

Opening up at all was new to me.

So, I wanted to respond in a way that was friendly but not too friendly,

confident, but also sophisticated.

I also had feelings!

These guys were my first real friends, like, ever.

And I didn't want to mess it up, so I kept it super casual.

So after hanging out with each other and doing each other's things,

one thing was clear.

We were very different people.

It was a little concerning in a way that felt concerning.

So, the next day, we did what any mature teenagers would do

when they have issues with each other. We talked about it,

to other people.

So I splattered the whole bottle on my shoes, and now it's shoe art.

But you're the first people I've ever felt comfortable being the real me around.

Then what's the problem? It seems like we all want this friendship to work.

But why does that have to be a bad thing?

I like hanging out with people who are different from me.

It's exciting and inspiring.

He's the night nurse who changes all the dolls' diapers.

After our friendship love-fest,

our creative juices started flowing.

So we ran back to Tulip's house and wrote a killer song.

And the next day, we're ready to head out for our first gig.

We were just missing one thing.

Wait! Our band name!

We can't go to our first gig ever without a band name.

Good point.

Uh, what if we do something with our names?

I'm pretty sure it's not. [chuckles]
