=The Journey of Legend=

=Episode 14=

Bad news!

Mr. Zuoqiu and Mr. Deng are fighting!

We couldn't stop them.

Yiren, please come quickly.

This way.

Wait.

Yiren!

W-What's happening?

Go find Zuoqiu and Yuhan.

(Token) Lady Tang.

Xiao Qiushui!

How dare you scheme under my nose?

At this critical moment,

you still vie for sect leadership?

Yiren, I didn't mean that.

- Don't misunderstand. - Misunderstand what?

Do you think holding the token

makes Huanhua Sect disciples obey you?

Let me tell you.

Tiger Guards follow my orders through storms.

A mere token won't make them submit to you.

Yiren, I know your authority in the Xiao family.

I care nothing about sect leadership.

But regarding Sword Retreat's rescue, you must listen to me.

Give me the Sect Leader's Token now.

I'll return it after saving our parents.

Even for half a day.

Just half a day, Yiren!

- Qiushui. - What?

I shouldn't criticize you.

Nor do I have the right.

But Yiren exhausted himself for your sake.

He barely fixed your mess

and convinced Master Qu to help Sword Retreat.

Why scheme for leadership now?

Are you worthy of your parents and the Xiao family?

What? Qu Hanshan will help Sword Retreat?

Yiren, he's from Power Gang.

Don't be fooled.

Enough! We need his help now.

Don't worsen the situation.

With my years of experience,

I'd notice if he schemes.

If he's truly guilty,

we'll confront him publicly.

No.

No! Step aside!

Wait...

Qu Hanshan wants Qiushui dead.

Why deliver him to death's door?

Exactly.

Yiren, answer me.

Why all this act if he's already exposed?

He clearly wants me dead.

Don't worry. I'll protect you that day.

Other sects will be present and witness everything.

With many present, we needn't fear him.

If he's truly guilty, we'll act accordingly.

This matter's settled.

Don't stir up trouble now.

Yiren, disbelieve me

and disbelieve us if you must.

Then answer this.

Will you trust Master Du Yueshan of Mengxiang Sect?

Qu Hanshan imprisoned him for years.

We just rescued him.

If Du Yueshan testifies against Qu Hanshan,

will you listen then?

What? Master Qu imprisoned Master Du?

What rumor is this?

Qiushui, first you claimed Divine Wanderer's death,

and then they appeared at Bishan Sect.

Now you change to Master Du?

Stop this nonsense, Qiushui.

I'm not lying.

Why won't you believe me?

Wait. I'll bring Master Du.

- We'll go too. - We'll go too.

Yiren.

Let's see what farce you can create.

Qiushui!

Yiren? Yiren!

- Guard him. - Understood.

Yiren! Yiren!

Yiren!

(Forest of Justice)

Have some tea.

After you.

Please.

Master Qu.

(Sikong Xue, Tiancan Gang Leader) Master Sikong.

(Master Xiao, Yanzi Sect) Master Xiao.

Master Ge.

(Master Ge, Blade Hall/Weng Yueying, Bishan Sect) Lady Weng.

And these behind?

The Five Tigers of Guangling.

The rest are all renowned elites from Guangling.

Since martial artists gather today,

I'll speak plainly.

We come here today

to first let my brother apologize to Master Qu

in hopes of resolving our previous misunderstandings.

Secondly, we request your assistance for our Huanhua Sect.

As fellow righteous sects sharing a common cause,

our family will repay your kindness manifold in days to come.

Qiushui, apologize to Master Qu at once.

Wait.

Assisting the Xiao family isn't impossible,

but certain matters require clarification first.

Today I've invited martial peers to Forest of Justice

(Forest of Justice) to bear collective witness.

I've never cared for personal gains

but will never tolerate actions

violating martial justice.

What I'm about to reveal has nothing

to do with personal grudges against Mr. Qiushui.

Do you all believe?

Master Qu, your virtue and skills command respect.

Your fairness is renowned throughout the land.

We accept this arrangement.

- Please speak plainly, Master Qu. - Please speak plainly, Master Qu.

Xiao Qiushui, answer me.

Why did you collude with Wastelanders and betray Daxi's martial circle?

Why did you say that?

Let him explain.

Not only did he invade my residence and slander me

but also conspired to free a North Wasteland spy from my dungeon.

Qu Hanshan,

throughout my journey here, I wondered

how you'd react when I expose you

as Power Gang's lackey.

And here's your move, framing me with false collusion charges.

This is your twisted version of justice.

Everyone, I saw with my own eyes in Qu's secret dungeon

that Qu Hanshan imprisoned and tortured Master Du Yueshan.

He failed to extract Mengxiang Swordplay from him

and now slanders him as a North Wasteland spy!

(Forest of Justice)

You should give Master Du and the martial circle a proper account.

Cease your lies, Xiao Qiushui!

All know Master Qu and Du Yueshan were sworn brothers.

How could he have done that?

Because his true identity is Power Gang's Sword King!

(Forest of Justice)

You killed Master Gu Junshan in Qu's courtyard.

Today I'll expose your true face!

Qiushui, stop this nonsense.

I told you. Master Gu is alive and well.

Junshan hasn't visited today.

Nor would I ever imprison Yueshan.

Only one prisoner ever occupied Qu's dungeon.

It was North Wasteland King, Helian Yan's subordinate, Yuchi Qing.

Lady Weng of Bishan Sect, Master Ge of Blade Hall, and I jointly caught him.

We sought North Wasteland's spy network intel.

Yet you released this tiger back to the mountains!

Lies!

Master Du Yueshan...

Master Du Yueshan endured unbearable torture!

Before escaping, he taught me Mengxiang Swordplay.

Wait but a moment.

My men will bring Master Du Yueshan here for confrontation.

(True, I helped capture Yuchi Qing together with Master Qu.)

But claiming Xiao Qiushui freed him lacks evidence.

Master Qu, this must be a misunderstanding.

Though Qiushui's temperament is unruly,

he'd never free a North Wasteland spy.

Your conviction almost persuades even me.

But facts speak louder than words.

At Yuchi Qing's escape site,

I saw traces of a move, Thunderous Slash.

Xiao Qiushui, answer me.

Did you learn Mengxiang Swordplay

or Yuchi Qing's signature, Bloodshed Blade?

How despicable you are!

Master Ge.

We, Blade Hall, received Master Du's guidance.

Let me test your so-called Mengxiang Swordplay.

Qiushui, prove it now.

I recognize Master Ge's moves.

Indeed, Master Du's Mengxiang Swordplay.

He brilliantly adapted from sword to blade.

Yet Mr. Qiushui isn't using Mengxiang Swordplay.

Xiao Qiushui's moves resemble blade arts, not swordplay.

(Qiushui is clearly using a blade technique, not swordplay.)

Master Ge!

Are you alright, Master Ge?

Qiushui, it's impressive.

What a Thunderous Slash!

Xiao Qiushui, you didn't use Mengxiang Swordplay at all.

It was Yuchi Qing's Bloodshed Blade.

Right. I recognize it too.

His final move

was Bloodshed Blade's Thunderous Slash.

It can't be.

You're all conspiring.

Words lie, but martial techniques don't!

I battled Yuchi Qing myself.

I would recognize his style even in death!

This scar bears Thunderous Slash's mark.

Xiao Yiren, in the battle where Yuchi Qing gravely wounded me,

weren't you there too with your father, Xiao Xilou?

Don't you recognize it?

Yiren?

It's true. It's indeed Bloodshed Blade.

How could this happen?

Xiao Qiushui, your own brother wouldn't lie to you, would he?

What more do you have to say?

You defamed Master Qu by labeling him a Power Gang member.

Now we see you're the thief crying "Stop thief"!

(Qu Hanshan set this trap for me so early.)

Everyone, if someone in your sect learned a forbidden technique,

how would you deal with them?

We'd sever their meridians and ban them from martial arts forever.

No! Though he learned it, it was by accident.

He shouldn't be punished so harshly.

Qu Hanshan, you're truly cunning.

Even if I know this blade technique, I've committed no crime.

And I've never harmed anyone.

To cripple me, you went to such great lengths.

Enough. Keep silent now.

Everyone, Qiushui was deceived by villains.

He used a North Wasteland technique and should be punished,

but I swear he didn't do it intentionally.

He's spoken nothing but lies since arriving.

Yet you keep defending him.

Are you blinded by brotherly love,

or is your family colluding with the North Wasteland?

Master Xiao, cease your nonsense!

Don't smear my family's name!

Master Du has arrived!

Master Du, tell everyone quickly

how Qu Hanshan imprisoned and forced you.

Yuchi Qing.

What did you say?

Don't kill me! Spare my life!

Spare my life! I didn't mean to escape.

It was him!

(Yuchi Qing, North Wasteland) He tricked my Bloodshed Blade

with the Hero Token.

After escaping the dungeon, he tried to silence me.

I barely escaped with my life.

Lies! You claimed to be Du Yueshan

and taught Xiao Qiushui martial arts to escape the waterways.

How dare you make baseless accusations!

I speak only truth!

The Hero Token's on him.

I saw it with my own eyes.

The Hero Token's on him?

(Qiushui has the Hero Token?)

(Forest of Justice)

- Hand it over! - Yes! Make him hand it over!

Such ambition for one so young!

Trying to hog the Hero Token for yourself?

Hand over the token now!

I never had the Hero Token.

He's conspiring with Qu Hanshan.

This is all a setup to frame me.

Take this North Wasteland spy away.

I-I...

- Move! - Let me go!

Let me go!

Xiao Qiushui, I see you won't admit it until you're faced with the evidence.

Liu Qianbian.

(He truly had the Hero Token.)

Everyone, behold the Hero Token.

It was truly on him.

The Hero Token is real.

- It's the Hero Token. - Right.

It's the Hero Token.

All heroes heed

the divine token's call.

This is the Hero Token.

Seeing your brothers' shock,

they clearly didn't know you stole the token.

What a disgrace to the illustrious Xiao family!

I never carried the Hero Token.

The Power Gang took it long ago!

This is all your staged scheme.

Enough!

Qiushui!

I knew you were reckless,

but I never imagined such betrayal!

Our family's century-old honor

won't tolerate your lawlessness!

Yiren.

Everyone, pardon my brother's youthful ignorance.

Please spare him this once.

I'll sever my own arm in atonement!

- Yiren! - Yiren!

The one who did it takes the blame.

We seek to punish Xiao Qiushui, not others.

Exactly.

Yes. He must be punished!

- Punish the traitor! - He must pay!

Don't let him escape!

Spy!

We Five Tigers of Guangling won't spare this traitor!

- Eliminate him! - End Xiao Qiushui!

You learned a North Wasteland technique and hid the Hero Token.

There's no denying this.

Today you'll answer to the martial world.

What's there to answer? Don't believe Qu Hanshan.

Tang Fang.

That Wastelander personally claimed to be Du Yueshan.

He tricked Xiao Qiushui into learning his arts.

They set up this joint scheme

exactly because we saw through Qu Hanshan's true identity.

What a silver tongue you have, twisting black and white!

Today I'll teach both you and your accomplice a lesson.

Wait!

Master Qu, please show mercy.

I'm Tang Song. Madam Tang ordered me to bring Tang Fang back for judgment.

Please do me this favor.

Tang Sect has no connection with Xiao Qiushui.

Tang Fang's misunderstanding of you

was caused by Xiao Qiushui's deception.

Since Lady Tang is also a victim,

naturally, Tang Sect should discipline their own.

Tang Fang, return to Tang Sect with me immediately.

I won't go.

Apologies for the trouble. Farewell.

(Tang Fang is better off with Tang Sect than falling into Qu Hanshan's hands.)

(I need to find a way out.)

Xiao Qiushui, it's time to settle your debts.

I won't admit to crimes I didn't commit.

I'll prove my innocence to everyone in time.

- Qiushui! - Qiushui!

I failed to discipline you properly,

leading to this catastrophe today.

Yiren, Qiushui is truly innocent.

I beg you to believe him.

- Shinian! Take Qiushui down! - Understood.

I'll take responsibility alone. Stand down.

- Qiushui! - Qiushui!

Stand down!

Let me go, Yiren.

I'll prove my innocence to you.

Shut up!

Master Qu, Xiao Qiushui of Huanhua Sect is restrained.

I guarantee he'll cause no more trouble.

Allow me to take him to our family for judgment.

Xiao Qiushui's crimes are irrefutably proven.

You still protect him?

Do you want to ruin the Xiao family's name?

With this black sheep in the Xiao family,

your stance remains ambiguous.

How are we supposed to think? Who'd dare help the Xiao family now?

Yiren, you've heard.

If you don't punish Xiao Qiushui today,

no one in the martial world will aid the Xiao family.

I thought you understood the stakes.

You schemed against me step by step

just to silence me.

Shut your mouth!

Will you persist in error after all this?

Will you abandon the Huanhua sect and our family's honor?

Yiren,

you trust false accusations by others

over me, your own brother?

- Qiushui! - Qiushui!

The greater good matters!

I'll rip off your mask someday!

And expose your true face to all!

Qiushui!

- Qiushui! - Qiushui!

Take Qiushui back quickly.

Master Qu, regarding Qiushui...

Xiao Qiushui has been punished.

I trust sect leaders will aid the Xiao family.

The Hero Token...

Let Master Qu safeguard it and return it to Wudang later.

Any objections?

Great idea.

Then I accept this responsibility.

I framed Xiao Qiushui as you ordered.

Please remove the Better-Dead Pill, Master Liu.

Xiao Qiushui's dealt with.

But Herbal Valley's debts remain.

What?

You forgot completely.

Then let me jog your memory.

You...

Mother.

You're Herbal Valley's young master.

I survived as your worst nightmare.

You wretch, you spread lies,

ruined Herbal Valley's name, and destroyed my family.

Now you're finally in my hands.

The Herbal Valley affair had nothing to do with me.

Good. Let's see how long your stubbornness lasts.

It wasn't me.

I didn't spread those rumors.

I beg you, stop this! Please stop!

Still lying with death at your doorstep.

I swear, my mission back then was just to steal the formula.

What happened afterward truly wasn't my doing.

It truly wasn't my doing.

What exactly happened back then? Speak!

Back then, our army learned that Jinzhong's Herbal Valley

had developed a medicinal pill

with miraculous effects for curbing hunger and healing wounds.

(They wanted to produce Marching Pills for military supplies.)

Please leave now.

I'll never sell anything to you.

- Madam... - Please.

Let's go.

(King Helian sent me to steal the formula.)

(But the valley leader kept the formula extremely secure.)

(I could only secretly observe her pill-refining process.)

(But I was discovered and exposed.)

(I was driven out of Herbal Valley.)

Since then, Herbal Valley's defenses intensified.

No outsiders could enter.

King Helian then bribed an informant in Daxi's martial world.

He made them continue searching for the formula.

But that informant spread rumors through the martial world,

claiming Herbal Valley made Marching Pills for our army.

When the rumors spread.

Herbal Valley was annihilated overnight by Daxi's martial factions.

It was Daxi's martial circle that destroyed Herbal Valley.

It truly had nothing to do with me.

Who was that martial artist collaborating with North Wasteland?

This is military intelligence.

Only King Helian knows.

How do I know you're not fabricating this

to clear yourself of guilt?

Every word's true. I wouldn't dare lie.

Wait, I remember.

The sect that transported Marching Pills to North Wasteland was Diancang Sect.

You can confront them.

Diancang Sect? Good.

Write down everything you just confessed.

Okay.

(Yuchi Qing: No Herbal Valley dealings with North Wasteland or Marching Pills.)

(Xiao Residence)

Qu Hanshan. Qu Hanshan. Qu Hanshan!

Qiushui? Qiushui?

Qiushui, I've sealed your acupoints.

This should ease your suffering.

And I used Tendon-Rejoining Salve on your wounds.

The pain should subside somewhat.

Yiren, Kaiyan, and Xueyu.

Don't let Qu Hanshan near the Sword Retreat.

I beg you, stop being stubborn.

In your condition, you should rest.

Kaiyan, Qu Hanshan is the Sword King of Power Gang.

He obtained the Hero Token long ago.

Now he's framing me.

Enough. You almost ruined our family's century-old reputation.

Fortunately, Master Qu's chivalrous nature

made him willing to aid our family despite everything.

Yiren, the reason he's helping

is because the Sword Retreat can only be opened from inside.

I heard Liu Suifeng of the Power Gang holds a grudge against our family.

Xueyu, if we let Power Gang into the Sword Retreat,

it would only harm our parents.

Absurd!

Our family and Power Gang have never interacted.

How could Liu Suifeng possibly hold a grudge against us?

I've no time for your nonsense.

We'll settle this later.

Yiren, why trust an outsider like Qu Hanshan

over our own brother?

Qiushui needs rest now.

Let's not disturb him.

Remember to change his dressings and arrange attendants.

Yiren. Yiren.

Yiren!

Tang Fang?

No!

(Is the dream following the novel's plot?)

(The Sword Retreat should be impregnable.)

(My parents said the water could last 20 days.)

(Did I misremember?)

(Or did something go wrong?)

(The Sword Retreat's key?)

(This weather's unbearably hot.)

Mother, watch your step.

Stop following.

The key's not with me. Your father has it.

Mother, how did you know?

You came from my flesh.

Did you think I wouldn't recognize your little scheme?

You just want the key to retrieve Changge Sword from the Sword Retreat.

Since you understand me so well, Mother,

why not persuade Father to lend me the key?

You want the key?

Dream on.

This time, I truly can't help you.

The Sword Retreat's key is your father's lifeline.

Our ancestors' rule: it never leaves his person until death.

Unless your father relinquishes leadership of the Xiao family.

Only then would he pass it to you brothers.

(Until death?)

(Why did Mother seal such a crucial item in this treasure pouch?)

(Water's almost gone in Sword Retreat. I may not see you return. Carry on.)
