by the limited furnishings

But I do need an office
assistant.

So a brief background about
myself, I was in law enforcement

for almost 20 years.

A large portion of that was as a
detective

and recently felt a a
calling to transition

to the private investigative
field,

aiming to hopefully help
people in difficult times

using ethical but effective
means.

- Okay, sure.

- So to get started,

why don't you tell me
about your experience

and why you're interested in the
position.

- Absolutely and I'll try not

to be intimidated getting
interviewed

by a private investigator

who can probably, like, read my
thoughts

before I say 'em or anything.

- Well that would make
my job so much easier,

but sadly that's not the case.

So if you saw my resume, my past
two jobs

were as an office assistant.

One for a medical software
company,

the other a law firm.

I would handle everything
from email responses

to scheduling to tech support.

- Tech, tech support.

- Yeah, I mean nothing big

but I can set up a
network, configure routers,

software patches, stuff like
that.

I was like the Swiss army
knife of my old office.

Um, I did not go to college,

but I hope that's not a
negative.

- I didn't either.

- Ah, okay.

Well I promise you I can figure
stuff out

if you give me a chance.

It's what I do.

And if I'm talking a lot right
now,

I'm sorry, I'm just really
eager,

but you could tell me
to zip it and I'll stop.

- So what happened at your other
jobs?

I always say that if you're
really good

you wouldn't be unemployed.

- Hmm.

and for this season of life

that I'm in as a mom, he's my

while I really need this job

and it would be pretty stinking

- I agree a hundred percent
with what you just said.

My previous assistant,
who was a wonderful woman,

she, by her own admission,
struggled with that balance.
