probation officer and the psychologist.

Now, what happened was a tragic thing.

Crime was committed, and a life was
lost.

And that, unfortunately, cannot be
reversed.

But to submit the minor to any prolonged
period of detention would, in effect,

be another crime. It would not serve him
or the community.

Therefore, I am sentencing you, Brian,
to a one -year rehabilitative period of

detention and training at the State
Youth Authority.

I'm suspending that order, placing you
on probation with the requirement that

you remain in treatment.

There's 90 -day reports to this court by
a probation officer.

It is so ordered.

Brian, I'm sorry.
