[A Forbidden Marriage]

[Episode 8]

Miss Yang?

Miss Yang!

You fell into the trap too?

Here.

This place is very strange.

It is.

They even set a trap.

A fortress hidden deep in the mountains,

rarely visited—

yet they placed such a complex

Seven Killings Formation at the entrance.

Plus, Tong said

in the forest we passed through yesterday—

which is the exit of this fortress—

someone injured a boy and took him away.

I think

the missing children

are being held somewhere in this fortress.

Why didn't Tong tell me about that?

She did mention it to you.

But she was too frightened,

and thought that person was a monster.

I thought she was just talking nonsense.

Mr. Yang.

You just said that strange formation

is called the Seven Killings Formation?

That's right.

The thorny vines you cut through just now—

that was the entrance to the formation.

You could have avoided capture.

Why did you fall into the trap with us?

The Seven Killings Formation is interconnected.

Since they set a trap

and took us here,

it shows they don't intend to kill us.

They'll send someone here to investigate.

If we capture that person,

we may uncover the fortress's secrets

without shedding a drop of blood.

I don't care.

I think you fell into the trap because of me,

not because of some investigation.

As long as that makes you happy, Miss Yang.

I'm going to check out the situation in the fortress.

Anyone who trespasses into Qingmu Fortress

should be killed on sight.

We already took them down,

yet the chief spared their lives.

Who are you to question the chief's decisions?

We just follow orders.

Right?

How's the preparation going?

Miss Lin,

the medicine is almost ready.

By the way, Miss Lin.

can my juniors

stop taking their medicine?

Today is the last day.

After this dose, even if you beg,

I won't give you any more.

But honestly,

you people from Yunmen

really do have strong bodies.

All the residual poison is gone.

Of course.

If you're interested, Miss Lin,

I can teach you a couple of techniques.

They can strengthen the body

and calm the mind.

No need.

Senior Jiang.

What's wrong?

Someone saw members of Shengyue Sect

near Qingmu Fortress.

According to the description,

the ones fighting them

should be Mr. Yang and Miss Yang.

Gather all the disciples who weren't poisoned.

Come with me to the back hills of the Qinglai River

to help Mr. Yang eliminate Shengyue Sect's remnants.

Yes.

Miss Lin, the medicine...

Just go.

I'm leaving then.

Mingyang,

that useless fool who ruins everything.

Si, you stay in the woodshed

and don't alert them.

But...

Miss Yang, take me with you.

I can at least be of some help.

This is the Skylark Whistle.

If we don't come out in four hours,

blow this whistle.

Yunmen's disciples will come to help you.

Do I need Yunmen's disciples to save me?

Be careful.

Don't you find it strange?

What kind of fortress

has six watchtowers on the four cardinal points?

Each tower is patrolled by three guards,

switching shifts every 15 minutes.

The Zhen position has drums to relay signals.

The Gen position has swamps— traps everywhere.

Such a well-organized setup

clearly belongs to someone from the martial world.

No matter how heavily guarded a fortress is,

as long as people live in it,

there will always be flaws

in their daily routines.

Come with me.

Madam.

San is sick today,

so I'm here to cover his shift.

I was wondering where he had run off to.

You two, go clean the fish in the kitchen.

Okay.

Thank you.

Okay.

Cui, Chunhua,

take these two meals

to the chief and the honored guest.

Don't mix them up.

Yes.

Let's go.

It's rice bran.

The meals cooking in the kitchen are divided into three classes.

The first-class ones are refined,

like the one outside.

The second-class ones are plain rations, enough to fill the stomach.

The third-class ones are rice bran and rotten leaves, barely edible.

Could it be they kept others here before?

Those children who were taken.

Who's inside?

If you don't come out,

I'll shoot arrows!

Chief!

Chief.

The three people we brought back have all escaped!

The dark-faced one

is fighting outside now.

What?

Go with me to take a look!

Yes!

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

The Skylark Whistle?

That's Yunmen's signal.

They've lured Yunmen's people here?

Young Chief, let's leave together.

Leave together?

And get caught together?

It's hard to get in or out of Qingmu Fortress.

If Yunmen's people block us at the gate,

they would immediately know

we are the true owner of Qingmu Fortress.

No.

I must not let them find out

that I'm involved in this.

Let me think.

What should I do now?

What happened?

Nothing.

Just a few guards.

I've taken care of them.

The figure...

Don't be afraid.

It doesn't look like a child.

Miss Lu?

Mr. Yang.

Miss Lu, why are you here?

It was him.

He's the one who kidnapped me.

And he said if I wanted to live,

my father would have to pay a ransom.

Miss Lu, you must be mistaken.

He's been with us the whole time.

How could he possibly kidnap you?

What exactly happened?

That day,

I heard Miss Yang say

if Fire Hall Master could be lured away,

you'd be able to escape safely.

I thought although

I'm no match for Shengyue Sect's men,

it wouldn't be hard for me to lure him away.

So,

I took it upon myself to help you.

Unexpectedly,

I was attacked before I could go far.

When I woke up,

I was locked up here and tortured.

I've never made any enemies in my life.

Except Shengyue Sect, I can't think of anyone else

who would do this to me.

That's nonsense!

How dare you falsely accuse us?

Then who else could it be?

Never in my life have I been so humiliated!

Once I find out who did this,

I'll tear him into pieces!

Miss Lu is emotional and said it out of anger.

Don't take it to heart.

There are still a few rooms outside we haven't checked.

You and Miss Yang go see if anyone's there.

Let's go.

Protect Miss Yang.

Miss Lu,

are you the only one here?

I'm not sure.

They drugged my food

and water.

Sometimes I was unconscious for hours.

Sometimes for a whole day.

I have no idea what happened outside.

Mr. Yang, I'm so scared.

I want to go home.

Don't be afraid, Miss Lu.

We'll take you home right away.

Yang Qing, come here now.

Rest here for a moment.

I'll be right back.

Don't leave me alone. I'm scared.

Don't be afraid, Miss Lu.

You're safe now.

Mr. Yang, don't go!

I'm scared.

It's alright now.

The goods should have been sent out safely by now.

Yang Qing, come and take a look!

Mr. Yang, look.

There are wheel tracks here.

They've already gone far.

You stay here. I'll go after them.

I'll go with you.

You stay here and protect Miss Yang.

Mingyang.

Excuse me, sir.

We're lost in this bamboo forest.

Could you help us find our way out?

We're in a hurry.

Help!

Shang Huai, go save them!

Tell me, who sent you?

Qingmu Fortress's men would rather die than betray our master!

Tell us now!

Why did you kidnap those innocent kids?

Miss Lu.

Why are you here?

You should go back and rest.

We'll handle this.

We'll give you a proper explanation.

I'm here to help.

I also want to hear

why he committed such heinous crimes.

Let me ask you.

Are the children we rescued today

the ones who recently went missing from various places?

Answer honestly.

If you won't talk,

I'll use Biluo Valley's interrogation methods.

I'll confess. I'll confess.

They are the missing children.

Why did you kidnap them?

I...

Selling them

could fetch a good amount of silver.

Despicable!

Profiting from such vile deeds!

Someone must be behind this.

Tell us, who is it?

It's...

Is it the remnants

of Shengyue Sect?

Yes. Yes.

I know nothing.

Shengyue Sect made me do it all.

I have a wife and child.

Please spare my life.

He's confessed everything.

What happens next is up to you.

He was so tight-lipped before.

Why did he suddenly confess?

Maybe he got scared when he heard me mention

Biluo Valley's interrogation methods.

At least we've got a lead.

Thank you for your help, Miss Lu.

It's the least I can do.

By the way,

what do you plan to do with him?

He'll be handed over to the authorities tomorrow.

What?

You're handing him over to the authorities?

That's Mr. Yang's order.

Mr. Yang is indeed thoughtful.

Miss Lu, you've had a few rough nights.

You should go back and get some rest.

I still have a few questions for him.

Is that alright?

Please go ahead, Miss Lu.

For such little money,

you didn't even spare such young children.

Do you know how terrified they were?

Do you know how worried their parents are?

If your child suffered this,

how would you feel?

How would your wife react?

My wife and child are innocent!

Aren't the children you kidnapped innocent too?

You did such a vile thing.

Aren't you worried your wife and child will suffer the consequences?

I beg you.

Don't hurt my wife or child.

I did all this alone.

They know nothing about it!

If someone must die, let it be me.

Young...

Do they really know nothing?

Regarding this matter,

Biluo Valley will not let it go.

We'll get to the bottom of it!

And if

I find out

they're even slightly involved,

I won't show any mercy.

They truly know nothing.

I know my sins are grave.

I'm willing to pay with my life.

Just please,

don't hurt my family.

[Weihu Hall]

This man's name is Cao Fei.

He said he kidnapped the kids for money

under Shengyue Sect's orders.

But not long after making his confession,

he threw himself onto Miss Lu's sword.

What about your side?

The black-clad men we captured all took their own lives.

There were nine children in the carriage.

Seven of them are still unconscious.

After we return to the city tomorrow,

they should wake up.

For money?

I'm afraid it's not that simple.

Most likely a cover story.

Let's wait until the children wake up.

Then we'll investigate further.

Okay.

Mr. Yang.

I was perhaps reckless.

I searched the entire fortress

and found this.

It bears the Blood Moon mark of Shengyue Sect.

Such a heinous act as kidnapping children

is indeed something only Shengyue Sect would do.

They must have done that to make money for Shengyue Sect.

Shengyue Sect would never bully

the elderly, weak, sick, or disabled!

But someone

first falsely accused me.

Then I heard she tried

to silence someone in a rush.

Now she's trying to frame Shengyue Sect

with its mark.

Of course Shengyue Sect

would never admit it.

Mr. Yang, I want to ask

when Yunmen

became so friendly with Shengyue Sect.

Shouldn't Fire Hall Master be arrested immediately

and sent to Biluo Valley for imprisonment?

Yes, Mr. Yang.

How can someone from

Shengyue Sect show up here openly?

Fire Hall Master has promised to reform.

He believes the kids' abductions have nothing to do with Shengyue Sect.

And he insists on uncovering the truth.

If there's solid evidence

proving Shengyue Sect did it,

he's willing to be handed over to the authorities and face punishment.

Right, Fire Hall Master?

If we did it, we did it.

If we didn't, we didn't.

If it really was Shengyue Sect's member,

no matter who it was,

I'm willing to face death with him!

Isn't this evidence?

You're trying to frame Shengyue Sect with just a piece of cloth?

If I tear a piece off a Biluo Valley's robe,

could I say you did it?

A piece of cloth proves nothing.

The children's testimony will be our best evidence.

After the children wake up,

we'll see if they can tell us anything useful.

Everyone, get some rest.

We'll return to the city soon.

And on the way,

escort Miss Lu back to Biluo Valley's branch.

Mr. Yang.

Miss Yang asked you to go there.

She wants to cook for you.

If you don't go,

the kitchen might get torn apart.
