In 1934 about 200 people were murdered in the course of the R�hm coup. The homosexuality of some SA members was taken as a reason for this act of execution. The rivalry of power between SA and NSDAP was another reason.

The existing paragraph 175 in German code of law was tightened. The "illicit sexual relations between men" were punished massively. The consequence was a systematic persecution of (male) homosexuals.
