- [Col] We live on the
most beautiful street

in the best part of town,

the kinda neighborhood

that gives people a serious
case of real estate lust.

(anticipatory music)
(vocalizing continues)

Claire says that some people pray someone

on the street will die,

just so a house will come up for sale.

Our house isn't the biggest.

That's Virginia's.

When we moved here, she was
the first one to come over

to welcome us with a banana nut loaf.

It's her secret recipe.

Oh, here's the secret,
housekeeper makes it.

Walker says we're one of
Virginia's charity cases

because we have the smallest
house on the street.

(music continues)
(Foster meows)

Well, we're only here
because the down payment

was a wedding present from my parents.

That's Eloise.

Sometimes I catch her looking at me

as if she's got some sort of x-ray vision,

and she's checking my
eggs to see if I have any.

And are they fresh,

and how come I'm not pregnant
yet at the advanced age of 34?

Claire understands.

There's something about
me and Walker, she says.

We love each other in a way

that just doesn't really
leave room for anyone else.

My life with Walker was perfect.

Then they built the house next door.

(suspenseful music)

I don't expect you to believe me.

You see, the house next door is haunted

in a unique and terrible way.

In another time, they
would've burned the house,

plowed the charred ground
and sowed it with salt.

(anticipatory music)

It won't be much longer now.

Our plan is in place.

We know what we have
to do, what we must do.

We're not afraid of being caught.

We don't think we'll be alive long enough

for that to matter.

(eerie exhaling)

(door shuts)

- You're absolutely gonna hate this.

- Should I be waving my hands too?

- Oh, manicure.

I just heard it from Roger,

they're gonna build a house next door.

- Next door to whom?

- They're your woods no longer, my sweet.

It's just gonna be a
big monster of a house.

We're all gonna be looking out our windows

and want to throw up.

- I'm gonna throw up right
now, and kill Walker.

- And you're gonna have to stop walking

Roger's gonna be so disappointed.

(mysterious music)

(saw whirring)
(Col gasps)

(tree thuds)

- Had to get rid of it.

The branch is casting
a distracting pattern

of shadows on the living room wall.
