The algorithm gave me what they thought a middle-aged

It was all super random.

Then all of a sudden, this young man

rolls up across my FYP, and it was like a like a light bulb

went off.

when I was scrolling TikTok.

And William's TikTok came by, and I was intrigued.

that were coming up within me.

I'd been so focused on being a mom and being a career woman.

I started having strong desires, and it was really

He just had that look that he could

be a model, that he could be something

And in my mind, I was like, I'm gonna help him get there.

And then it started blowing up, blowing up.

Every video I was posting, right

away I was getting 50,000.

Like, it was sick.

I was like, damn.

- This lip-sync video of "Mandy" went viral.

- How did he find "Mandy" to lip sync to?

He's so young.

- Then I got a call from IMG, which was like my dream.

Like, IMG models, right?

I was like, oh, let's go.

So I signed with IMG.

- Then we all started pushing videos and dueting his videos.

- When you do a duet, you go to their page

and you look at their videos and you go on the bottom,

it'll say Duet.

So basically it's his original video or that person's

original video, and then you are in a frame here

and you just press Record.

So you're either gonna mimic the same thing they're doing,

or you're gonna do your own thing to their video.

And that's what I did.

You know, I would duet Will.

I would go viral on those videos.

I couldn't tell you how many videos I dueted,

but I dueted a lot.

Will kind of became my algorithm.

One of my videos hit 1.9 million views, which

really put me on the map.

And then I got a lot of women following me.

They loved my videos.

I would go on Twitter and they'd be like,

have you seen Storm's video?

They're hilarious.

So that's how I ran across him.

I just duetted him.

And then I met a great group of women that turned toxic.

If I knew we would be here now, I would

have never, ever dueted him.

I probably would have just moved out of the country.

That's how far I want be away from anything

having to do with Will

energy and time into myself.

We had the Gucci Gang girls, William's Angels,

the William White Fan Group.

- And then there was the Grotto Girls.

- The Grotto Girls, or the GGs, they were like

top of the fan club pyramid.

They had the red stripper heel emojis.

They put GGs in all of their Twitter names.

- They became super organized.

There's like a hierarchy of leadership.

- They had like 1,000, 1,200 members at one point in time.

- Getting into the Grotto Girls is actually quite easy.

I clicked Join, and they let me join.

- I applied and was accepted into the Grotto Girls.

The application was a Google form

where I had to list my socials and describe

how I came into the fandom.

- They did collect our names and emails so they

could reach out to all of us.

- To stay in the GGs, you had to stay

engaged in your chat group, always promote positivity.

Don't engage with trolls--

that's a big one.

Be there for the right reasons.

No screenshotting of private conversations.

- We've never had to do anything to get in the group.

I mean, when you're in, you're in.

- We've got Jody from the Grotto.

Nice. OK.

Yeah, guys.

So what is Grotto Girls?

Oh, our nipples are hard.

We're excited.

What the fuck?

- Yeah, the GGs promoted the sexy side of Will.

- The GGs had a more overtly sexual--

loving, kind but sexual--

approach to how they wanted to fan for Will.

And I saw that firsthand once I was in it.

were sexual in nature, but there

Like, I woke up and it was at noon, $60,000.

So when I called my dad, he's like, you

should just quit your job.

I think you should make videos, go live, do your stuff.

So I'm like, yeah, you're right.

Then I'm like, OK, like, how am I gonna maintain this?

This idea came to me because of a nostalgia

fest that is currently in full effect on the social media

platform TikTok.

OK, so what is prompting this episode on nostalgia?

I had a podcast called "Genxtemporaneous,"

and with that podcast, I discovered this fandom.

And the Will White fandom really struck me, because it's

small and it was nascent.

It was-- no one knew about it.

I was there on the ground floor,

and I was able to watch it fluoresce naturally.

It started as a one-sided relationship with someone who

doesn't really know you exist.

Then it crosses the boundary to being actually,

in some way, an honest-to-god relationship

where now you that celebrity.

I just cannot look away.

And I try to talk to about people about this in real life

and say, hey, this crazy fandom that's

really culty and everyone kind of looks like, what?

[bell dings]

- What's up, guys?

For new joiners, it's your boy, Whiteyy.

- The boundaries in the fandom between Will and the fans

became quite blurred.

He would go live, and we would help him out,

not just in his big, overall trying to become a star,

but his just day-to-day life.

It was fun.

called and taken care of it.

So he's always very well taken care of.

Anywhere he goes, his dinner's bought.

His drinks are bought.

One Christmas, we had purchased a set of luggage

for him and it was very expensive to ship.

And so it went to a person who lived in the area,

and it was coordinated that she was going to be able to drop

it off at his home.

It was a really warm, respectful drop-off.

An actual GG went to my house today, at my mom's house,

and had like an hour conversation with my mom,

so that was nice.

- There was a request if they could send

a Christmas gift to my place.

We both said yes.

Yeah, that it was OK.

We didn't see the harm in it at the time,

because nobody had been sending to me.

He had done a Live and apparently people

already knew my address.

- William had come on the Live.

He was so excited about the luggage.

Everybody was happy.

- Only pilots have these suitcases--

like, literally only pilots.

So I'm pretty lucky to have that.

- And then the next morning, Will went live and said

boundaries were crossed.

anyone coming to my house.

I learned that after the fact, so wouldn't do that again.

I don't think that gifts should be coming

to my house for William.

If you're being sexualized,

as a parent, I could say,

And there was a petrol station next door,

so we just pulled in there.

And yeah, Will's Bronco was in front.

I was a bit like--

a bit like a teenager again, I suppose,

thinking, oh my, god, this is William White, you know?

He came over and said hello.

It was surreal.

We had a photo.

We had a quick five-minute chat and then he went.

- Our last night in Niagara Falls, and we

hadn't run into William anywhere.

We had dinner at Kelsey's.

And he went live and it looked like to us

he was at Boston Pizza.

So we were bummed.

We're like, oh no, we're never gonna see him.

And then a menu flashed, and it was Kelsey's.

We're like, oh, my god.

Our hearts are racing.

I canceled my food order.

I'm like freaking out.

After dinner, William took the time

to say hi, get a hug, a picture

with every single one of us.

It was a really fun, positive experience.

- Come visit me, like, wherever I am.

As long as it's not, like, private, come say hi to me.

I'll come sign your friggin' arm, whatever you need.

like, just have a good time.

- Will was invited to this charity event in Florida.

And Will said, hey, you fans can show up if y'all want.

You've got to pay your own tickets.

Some fans did.

- We thought, oh, we'll schedule our girls get-together

in West Palm Beach.

- I was donating to everything and everything,

just trying to like, give back to charities,

fans who donated to charities.

Then I got invited to amfAR.

It was pretty major.

A lot of successful people were there.

It was because my fans donated, like, 150,000

to amfAR for, like, AIDS.

- That amfAR event in Florida became a notorious moment

in the fandom.

- There's gonna be this big event, and I live in Florida.

So I'm watching him go live, and I'm cooking dinner,

and he starts talking about mental health.

He said, I have severe anxiety.

I can't imagine going to another country.

But you know what?

I want to pursue my dreams.

I'm not gonna let this hold me back.

And that really just kind of like floored me because I'm

like, here's this young guy who's

not gonna let his anxiety hold him

back from pursuing his dreams.

- So all the ladies were like, even if he doesn't come, let's

get together, have a girls' trip, meet each other,

have drinks, have fun.

And if he shows up, that's a bonus.

And so we decided we would get an oceanfront suite.

I could have never imagined in a million years when I joined

TikTok, just as a distraction, in February 2021,

that I would be sitting here in this position

and have gone through all the things that I've gone through.

I would just assume it's a story.

You're talking about someone else, not me.

- We had found out where he was staying,

and I walked up to him

and said, I'm Will's Gutter Girl.

He's like, Gutter Girl!

He knew who I was just by the name.

- The other ladies come running

wanting to get pictures.

He was just very quiet, not at all like his online persona.

- When I saw him in person at the hotel,

I was like, wow, he is as beautiful in person

as he is on a screen.

So it was a lot of fun.

- I had brought a bear he had just released.

He signed my bear.

A bit later, my phone dings, and I looked down,

and he had followed me on Instagram.

- Right now, we're gonna take a little break.

And then, yeah, we'll see you guys later.

- After the gala, one of the girls had messaged him,

and he said that we could come and see him at the hotel.

- When we get there, he's waiting outside the hotel,

and he's like, let's just stay here.

So I walk over and I go to the pool.

And I'm like, walking around the pool looking for a chair.

- What happened from there, I don't

know because when I couldn't find them,

I Ubered back to our condo on the beach.

And so I'm not really sure what happened.

I wasn't even there.

- He starts talking to me and he's like, hey, how's it going?

And he walks to the back door of the hotel,

and he kind of like, opens the door,

turns and looks at me and winks and says, no, let's go inside.

And he does that wink.

My stomach dropped.

And we get on the elevator.

[elevator dings]

So we get up to the room and I'm kind of eyeing the room,

and there's not a lot of furniture.

And I'm just standing there with my bottles of water,

and I kind of turn my back and put the bottles of water down.

[tense music]

And he comes in and he sits on the bed right behind me.

And he basically just kind of like, leans back

and does one of these numbers.

And he's like, damn, I've got some hot moms.

And I was so embarrassed and I started digging through my bag,

pulling out the waters.

I couldn't face him.

I was so nervous and so, like--

I didn't know what to do at this point.

And I hear him walk over to the wall,

and I hear him kick off his shoes, because he still had

on his suit from the event.

And then I see him out of the corner of his eye,

and he starts taking off his jacket,

and he's walking towards me, and he

has on this white T-shirt under it.

He's really tall, a lot taller than me.

And he was a lot bigger then.

He was really broad-shouldered.

And he just kind of gets right up behind me

and he's like leaning over me and he's like,

so are we gonna do this?

I kind of, like, forget.

My life's been so, like, eventful.

But I do remember being at the hotel, and she came over.

But in my eyes, we were kind of flirting,

like, trying to hang out.

And then she came up, and then I don't remember.

I just remember-- yeah, like making out with her,

going to the bed, and then doing something.

- I literally was still in shock.

I was like, do what?

And he's just so playful, his personality.

He just jumps on the bed and he pats the bed and he's like,

let's just have a sleepover.

He just kind of leaned up and just started kissing me

and pulled me over on top of him.

He was kissing me, and I was just kind of like in shock.

I was like, wait, is this really happening?

I don't think this is real.

This isn't happening.

And he rolled me over onto my back and at one point

he put his hand like near my throat.

And that's a big trigger for me, because I don't like that.

That kind of scares me.

I put my hand on his chest.

I was like-- I pushed him off.

And I said, we need to stop.

I said-- I was like, this is not a good idea.

He cut me off.

He's like, you think that I'm too young for you.

And he like, stands up and he's like, I'm a man,

and I'm gonna show you.

I'm gonna prove to you that I'm a man.

He's like, I'm not worried about your age.

I'm not worried about anything.

He was definitely into that moment.

It was definitely something he wanted and it was like,

I didn't want to disappoint him.

I wanted to be the fan that gave him whatever

he wanted kind of thing.

And I felt like I was kind of like out

of control of my own ability to rein myself in at that point.

Because I finally, like, agreed.

I was like, OK, you know?

I was sitting on the bed, and he looks back at me,

and he's just like staring at me again.

And that totally floored me.

I was like-- he was taking me in with his eyes, and I

said, what?

What is it?

And he's like, I just can't believe

I have Disney Mama in my bed.

You are so fucking hot.

And that just like--

that was it.

I was like, OK, we're doing this.

- We were having fun.

We were just having fun together.

It was both.

I was probably more excited than she was, you know?

I was like, let's go.

I've got girls coming over, all right?

You know?

It's pretty, like, self-explanatory.

but apparently things did happen.

And I received a lot of hate and a lot of drama from that.

People started calling my phone saying, where is Will?

What did you do with Will?

And I was like, I don't know what is going on.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, it was crazy.

And his mom was upset.

And I said, I don't know what you're talking about.

I am in West Palm Beach at my condo here.

You can come and check if you want.

Well, you were with the girls.

I said I was with them, but I'm not with them now.

- His phone starts ringing.

And my phone starts ringing.

And we're just kind of like, oh, my gosh.

And he's like, don't worry about it.

And I'm like, no, I've got to go.

I'm like-- I said, William, I think we've been ratted out.

Because there's people always watching him.

I said, I think we've been ratted out.

Someone probably called his agent

and was panicking because I was there,

and they wanted to be the ones there.

And yes, there were fans crawling all over the lobby,

and people were freaking out.

And we were just kind of clueless

as to what was going on.

- All I know is that they found Will,

and then the girls came back to our hotel.

So I was asking them, what happened?

What went wrong?

Where did you guys go?

Why are people calling me?

- I can't tell you how many times she came in there

demanding to know what happened--

how could I do this to her?

I had gotten in a little bit of an argument

with one of the girls because she told

me it was none of my business.

I'm like, it is my business when people are calling me.

- She's very forcefully slamming these barn doors that

separated our living spaces.

And she would fling it open.

You need to tell me what the hell is going on.

I'm gonna call the cops.

And so I said, you know what?

I'm in fear for my safety at this point.

I'd be more than happy to call the police myself.

- So I got an Uber from West Palm Beach to Orlando

and flew home.

- I caused a bunch of drama.

That's the weird part about it.

Every other fan wants-- like, it's the same thing.

People want to hook up, have fun.

- I went through probably four to five months of hate

coming at me every single day because of that night.

- When everybody found out he was sleeping with Disney Mama--

or slept with Disney Mama--

there was jealousy.

There was anger.

And some were just disgusted.

- It was jealousy.

What has she got that other people didn't?

And yes, Disney Mama got a lot of hate for that.

That's all I've got to say on that.

- I was completely cut out of the fandom.

I knew it would be bad because of the jealousy,

but I never in a million years thought,

because this man invited me over to his hotel

that I would be accused of being the one

that took advantage of him.

I was accused of sexual assault.

I was accused of providing drugs.

I was accused of hiding in a bush outside his hotel waiting

for him.

I was accused of stalking.

I had no choice but to delete all my social media,

because the other woman who was there

knew what my ex-husband's social media was and reached

out to him and told him where I was, what I was doing,

and he went online and made a huge post before I'd

even made it back home

tagging me, tagging William, saying I

left my husband for him.

People said that I made it all up, that I didn't

have this abusive husband.

I had to go immediately back to the state attorney's office

and file a violation of injunction for my own safety.

- It's all like-- it was drama, like the whole thing.

And even with sleeping with fans,

like, I don't look at it-- it's not like I'm

a teacher or something.

I'm literally just famous and they're loving me and I'm--

like, it's a connection and, like, whatever.

- What drama that was.

Oh, my god.

And then he came back on the next slide

wearing a Disney hoodie.

- Do you guys like this sweater?

I just got it.

No.

But I think it was more people were jealous because she's

pretty and she's hot.

- I didn't like stick up or whatever.

She got mad.

But then, I'm not sticking up for people.

Like, I'm not a lawyer here.

that was just that boy next door that was being so sweet

to older women and stuff, but one day I

want to play Xbox and be like a normal

24-year-old messing around.

But there's some people that are

literally just like every day, like, why are you mad at me?

And I'm like, yeah, because I'm angry.

Someone just said angry.

Yeah, I'm angry.

So, fuck.

You know, like, I understand you want to tie me to the bed.

I get it.

But don't fucking steal everything from me.

Don't try to drain my-- don't try to kill me.

That's why I'm a-- now I'm fucking a dick.

Like, it's crazy.

And it's because it's so easy for people to dehumanize you.

- I have no real issue with Will,

right up until the point where he started

being abusive to his fans.

- Get the fuck out of here, dude.

Even if it's a fan by mistake, you

say something that's fucking stupid and bullying,

you're getting fucking blocked.

Sometimes it comes across like, mean or something.

But then I'm like, why am I mean?

And then I become rude.

I actually love when you cry. Whaa, whaa, whaa.

- I don't think he owes them anything.

But I do think sometimes their influence over his life

can be unsettling.

And the outcry from some of these women, the pressure they

put on him, the way they responded and almost lashed out

at him, it was like an angry girlfriend being

broken up with by a boyfriend.

- I'll say the worst things when I'm mad, you know?

Just anything that comes to mind

that's just gonna hurt someone, just because I feel attacked.

Oh, my god, dude.

Some people are so weird. Yo, calm down.

I don't want any responsibility like that.

It's just ridiculous.

How is this guy still popular when he's calling women names

and assholes and saying that he doesn't

He was talking out of both sides of his mouth.

all your bills?

And why, as women, would you OK that behavior?

Your fans helped you.

How did my fans help me?

I'm more scared of the drama on social than, like,

serious, in-person situations.

- I don't regret telling him that he's a liar.

- If someone comes to your door, you've got to run,

or whatever you have to do, you do.

- I don't regret telling him that he

doesn't deserve his platform.

- But in social media, it's all up in the air forever.

- You're not seeing what they're

doing behind the scenes, behind your back,

behind fake accounts.

I think he needs to be held accountable for what he said.

- I couldn't trust anyone at this point.

I need to fight for my life.

So at the end of the day, you've got to fight back.
