We know the great deal of history
between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre.

But who can forget the epic throw-down in
Cardiff Whale between Sheamus and Gunther?

Corey touched on it longtime friends,

grew up in the business together,
they become rivals over the years.

And tonight, battle it out for the
prestigious Intercontinental Championship.

Guys, this is what this
man has accomplished.

There has been no superstar in this
century, in the 21st century that has held

the Intercontinental title
longer than Gunther.

Tonight marks his 296th day as Champion.

all of Imperium speak about
how to them the mat is sacred.

This is an opportunity for

Gunther to show his craft on
the grandest stage of them all.

Gunther doesn't concern himself with
the spectacle and the glitz and

the glamour that is WrestleMania.

Gunther is concerned with
the Intercontinental Championship and

dominance.

And the reasons why is because
he has no Champions advantage,

he's the first man to gain pinfall or
submission to win the Championship.

So if McIntyre were to hit a claymore
on Sheamus and pin Sheamus McIntyre

win the title, Gunther would never
even be involved in the decision.

Plus, there are no count-outs and
there are no disqualifications.

>> Speaker 4: It could be argued that the
Ring General's back is against the wall in

this situation.

But trust me, that is when Gunther
performs at his highest level.

This is a dangerous,
dangerous human being.

I'm gonna put you on the spot.

Who is your pick to win
the Intercontinental title tonight?

Sheamus, this is the only title that
has eluded him in his illustrious

career thus far.

And you say that Gunther's back is
against the wall, but I beg to differ.

I think that because of
the fact that Sheamus and

McIntyre are gonna be going at each other,
that may be an advantage to Gunther.

what Gunther accomplished back at
the Royal Rumble at the end of January.

He entered that event at number one,
he lasted 1 hour, 11 minutes and

40 seconds more than anybody in
traditional Royal Rumble match history.

That is what this man's all about.

Looking for the powerbomb.

Gunther's gonna go into the cover,
hook of the leg to retain, and

McIntyre kicked at two.

His ace in the hole, but

the top rope at the showcase

And Sheamus makes sure he doesn't.

This is a testament to the sheer will and
toughness of all three competitors.

In this instance, it was Gunther
reminding Sheamus, I'm not done yet.

But the Cloverleaf is in.

If Gunther taps, it's over.

Remember, ropes don't break.

No disqualifications in this match.

Ropes will not break
the Cloverleaf submission.

And the official making sure, Jason Ayers
making sure the champ understands that.

reaching for the bottom rope.

This is allowing Sheamus to readjust.

And Gunther's title may be slipping away.

>> Speaker 2: Meanwhile,
McIntyre back into the ring.

And now McIntyre,
the chin lock applied to Sheamus.

Trying to put a sleeper in
now on the Celtic Warrior.

[NOISE]
