each month to run the shop.

came out to just under 1.5 million yen.

That would be enough
to cover running costs

for a year and a half, more or less.

During that time,
I'd make sure to build a customer base.

And, in the long run, my goal as a barber

is to open a series of shops
in cities across Japan.

eventually there's gonna be a cap,

so I want to open many shops.

I struggled mentally,

to play at times.

and athletes as possible if I win.

So this is how I will use
the 27 million yen.

My plan is

to start up my business in Osaka.

I wanna use
a warehouse in a suburban area,

which means
I'll have to substantially invest

in designing the interior.

That's my idea.

My goal is to spend
less than 20 million yen on the interior.

With the remaining seven million yen,

I'll use it to cover personnel,
maintenance, and bills.

After retiring from my career,

A few years ago,
in 2018, I opened my own boxing gym.

Initially, when we opened,
the idea was to give people

who really didn't have
any boxing experience a chance to try it.

We've been open almost six years,

and now the gym is
a place for professionals to train.

I have two plans for the money.

First, I want to pass on knowledge
of what helped me in my career.

I wanna share the techniques

that I've held onto over the years
with younger fighters.

The second thing,

many amateur boxers decide
to move to the Kanto region of Japan

when they go pro.

There are way more training opportunities
and higher payouts in Kanto.

I became a world champion in Kobe,

in the Kansai region.

So one of my goals is to train
a strong boxer, a world champion,

who comes from the Kansai region.

To conclude, if I win the prize money,

I want to use it to help build
a better training environment for boxers

who have great potential.

There are two ways

First of all, I'll help my mother.

For as long as I can remember,

my mom raised me on her own.

a lot of tough times.

Once I win the prize money,

I think
I would like to give most of it to her.

I'd like to show her
just how… grateful I am.

My other plan is to invest in myself.

Right now, I'm pursuing acting,

but I'm still just starting out.

I barely make a living
with what I make as an actor.

I have to work extra hours
at my part-time job to make ends meet.

To that end,
I need to develop my skills as an actor,

which means taking classes
in performance and vocal technique.

Those are expensive.

Both classes combined
cost around 600,000 yen per year,

which is three million over five years.

During those five years,
I plan to work hard,

improve my skills as an actor,

and book roles in lots of productions.

…just a little while after I retired
from playing baseball,

I started working
in the area of social services.

And what inspired me to do it was,

I went to see
a game of wheelchair softball

while I was still playing pro baseball.

When I was there, I met a young boy.

His goal was to become
a pro baseball player.

He worked super hard
throughout his years in college.

But one day, on his way to practice,

he got into a car accident,
and he was severely injured.

Paralyzed.

And that could've been me.

Seriously, if that had happened to me,

I… I would have been
completely devastated,

you know? it would have been unbearable.

But that guy,

he was playing wheelchair softball,

and he still had a big smile on his face.

Instead of me inspiring him,

he was the one that inspired me.

Wheelchairs designed for sports
are extremely expensive,

around 200,000 yen each.
Twenty million yen for a hundred of them.

So if I win the prize money,

instead of using it for my own business,

I want to use it to support these athletes

with what they need to play. That's all.

I'm running my own training program
for athletes.

At my academy, I teach techniques

to help people strengthen their abilities,

with how much I can scale the academy.

So, in the future,
I want to start by expanding my business.

To expand it, I have to recruit members
who can also teach.

That way, I can focus all my time,

I've also been hoping to diversify
by developing a training app.

I believe developing
a video streaming application

that allows an athlete
to train on their own,

both physically and mentally,

building an app
is something I'm eager to try.
