In the criminal justice system,

the people are represented by two
separate, equally important groups.

The police, who investigate crime,

and the Crown prosecutors, who
prosecute the offenders.

These are their stories.

Police have been granted a further
24 hours to interview Lennie Gaines,

the father of 10-year-old
Jodie Gaines,

who's been missing for seven days.

Jodie went missing last Friday on
her way to a music lesson in
Central London.

Earlier this week, Lennie Gaines and
his ex-wife Kayleigh

made an emotional plea for Jodie's
safe return.
