something that shouldn't be there.

found the real thing?

globe, are videos,

- [Tony] Photos and
sounds that defy explanation.

- Is it some kind of
unidentified object.

- A plane that was
literally frozen in the air.

- What are they?

- Some sort of
bizarre, mutation.

- Extraordinary claims
need extraordinary proof.

- I'm Tony Harris
and as a journalist

for more than 30 years,

I've followed the facts
where they take me.

Now I'm bringing that spirit
of investigation to the world's

strangest sounds and images.

We'll analyze each
one with top experts.

- And it's a credible case.

It's a credible video.

- And a pass a
verdict on what it is.

- This video was clearly faked.

- The proof starts now.

(Dramatic theme music)

- Hi everybody, and welcome
to the proof is out there.

We've all heard of the wolf
man. But what about the dog man?

In recent years,

there's been a spate of
reported sightings of a dangerous

creature with a canine
head that walks on two legs,

and one man in Tennessee claims,

he's got video proving that
the trendy legend is real.

- It's march of 2011.

Scott carpenter a
systems administrator for a

small software company
in east Tennessee,

is conducting bigfoot research

in his spare time, when
his trail camera records

this mysterious footage.

It's a tough angle.

But look at the upper
left corner of the screen.

Missed it?

Scott himself didn't
notice it until he got

home and reviewed the footage.

Then he made this enhanced
magnification and here, it seems

like you can make
out a dog-like head,

bobbing between
the tree branches.

- The movement caught my eye.

Could literally see the nostrils

opening and closing
as it was taking breaths,

and I did some research,
called some people and described

what I had, and they're
like, that's a dog man.

- [Tony] Field
researcher, Ken gerhard

explains that while
dog man encounters are

relatively new, reports
seem to be increasing rapidly.

- There are popular, uh,
podcasts where eye witnesses

will come on and tell
about their stories or,

accounts or encounters.

The encounters are
often very chilling.

Dog man is often seen
feasting on roadkill. It chases and

claws at automobiles
as they go by.

It's a utterly terrifying
creature, whatever it is.

- [Tony] The dog man craze
traces back to Michigan,

a local legend
about the half man,

half hound first caught fire in
1987 and then blew up again

in 2007.

When a man named Mike
argusa, recorded this now famous

footage known as the gable film.

It starts out like an
unremarkable home video,

but then shows a creature
crawling on all fours.

Then standing erect and
finally charging the cameraman.

- The legend of the dog man,

made people afraid
to go into the woods,

and I'm sure many ten-year-olds
were scared of death by

parents retelling the
story around a campfire.

- Now here's the thing.

Mike agrusa has always been
upfront about the fact that the

gable film was a hoax. That's
Mike himself on a costume,

running at the camera.

Pretty impressive that the
dude can move like that on all

fours, but the
phenomenon of reported dog

man sightings is very real,

and Scott carpenter swears
his footage is proof positive.

So what do our experts think?

First, we took the footage to
anthropologist Kathy strain.

She says that if true,
reports of the dog man

describe different behavior
from what we see here.

- Dog man is thought to
be extremely aggressive,

and if you're in their space,

they will do everything
possible to get you out of their

space, including
running you down.

The video I don't
believe shows a dog man,

because it would have tried
to run Scott out of the area.

- [Tony] That prompted us to

analyze the video more
closely, and our main man,

Michael primo saw nothing
hinky with the source footage,

but when he inspected Scott's
enhanced magnifications,

the pixels told
a different story.

- This recording has
undergone some sort of change.

The operator essentially

stabilized this part
of the video image

and then applied what's
called pixel interpolation or

zooming and I'm seeing
symptoms of that here.

Information may have been
added to make something look

subjectively better, but
not objectively accurate.

Based on the analysis
that I've performed.

I cannot authenticate these
images and I'm concerned about

the opportunity to
manipulate these pixels,

to represent something that
wasn't originally recorded.

- Since Scott carpenter's
enhanced videos can not be

considered reliable evidence,

we are going to have to
conclude, this is a hoax.

While the gable film,

video and images like these
may capture the imagination of

those who want to believe
in dog man, the rest of us

will just have to keep
sniffing around from proof.

Up next can ufo's be
summoned, intentionally?

- They're flying tonight.

- Ooh, there's a a flash.
- Yeah.

Yeah you see them?

- We see hundreds of
ufo videos every month,

and the vast majority
are coincidental sightings,

but now a growing number of
eyewitnesses claim that ufo's

are showing up, not at random,

but because they are being
summoned intentionally,

July 5th, 2020

big bear, California,
experienced ufo spotter,

Eddie Garcia, sets
up under the stars

with a group of friends.

- So we're 20 miles
away from civilization,

and I really wanted to show
the new guys in our group,

e.t. Craft.

- Eddie says he called out
to the e.T.S with his mind

and amazingly, they came.

- You see they're
flying tonight.

So, I was kind of running
the laser alongside

with the e.T. Craft.

So that our friends can
follow along and see the craft

for themselves.

- [Tony] But instead
of just pointing out,

whatever's flying, this happens.

- [Eddie] And now he's turning.

- Ooh, it just falshed.
- Yeah, yeah. You see them?

- [Man] I saw a flash.
- Yeah.

- [Tony] Let's back up.

Zoomed in and slowed down,

the laser actually lights up
the object and it responds by

making a sharp turn.

Eddie, the man
behind the laser pointer,

is an active member
of a movement called

close encounters of
the fifth kind or ce5.

They believe they can initiate
contact with aliens through a

special kind of meditation
and a phone app.

Others have meditated in
an effort to summon ufo's,

most notably on a
large scale in 1987,

that August tens, of thousands
of people gathered at 250

sites in an event called
the harmonic convergence.

A version of the
idea lives on in ce5.

- We show a peaceful interaction

with the extra
terrestrial species,

and we show that there's
nothing to be afraid of.

- [Tony] For Eddie,

the search for contact
has been life-changing.

- I'm doing something
bigger than myself.

I think more
positive about life.

I kind of feel like I
have purpose again.

- The ce5 movement has
become a worldwide phenomenon,

with thousands of people
from america to Australia

meeting to summon ufo's,

but is it really possible
to trigger events

in the material world,

simply with the
power of the mind?

And what exactly did Eddie
capture on his camera?

We turned the footage over
to our video forensic analyst,

Michael primo.

- So this recording, uh,

had me scratching
my head a little bit.

So we sent the recording
to med x forensics,

which is one of our
authentication tools

that assesses the digital
information of the file.

I did not detect any evidence
to support that that object

was added.

- [Tony] So the video
is low resolution,

but it's real.

Astronomer and
video effects designer,

Mark De Antonio
tries to narrow down

what this object could be.

- Some people think that
things like this could be aircraft,

but,

bam, they get hit by a light

and it shifts immediately
to another location.

That's not something
an airplane can do.

- [Tony] Our aviation expert,

lieutenant Tim mcmillan thinks
we can rule out another human

made flying object.

- We don't see any of
the other characteristics

that would go with drones,

all of the different warning
lights that are on them,

all the different
aviation lights.

We also don't hear
sounds of drones.

I don't think that drones
would explain this at all.

- [Tony] De Antonio
considers a couple

of non-human possibilities.

- Now a ufo can fly with
weird motions like this.

When you actually look
at the motion that it took,

and you look at how much of
the object was illuminated by

this laser, that
right there tells me

that the object is
a very small object,

like the size of my
two fists together.

You'll notice as it's flying
through, it's doing this,

it's got this
pulsation going on.

It's possible that we're
looking at a bat right here.

- [Tony] Here's
the thing though,

there are conflicting
reports about bats and lasers.

One study claims
they're attracted to them,

but other reports
say lasers, repel bats,

and as for the ce5 movement,

De Antonio is
keeping an open mind.

- I can't say whether that
works or it doesn't work.

I won't disparage it until I
actually can get more evidence

for it or against it.

- So ufo or bat?
It's a close one,

but in this case,

because of the object size
at apparent fluttering motion,

we're going to call this a
bat pending further evidence.

But one thing is clear,
reaching out to ufo's

has put Eddie in a better
place, so stick with it, Eddie.

- We all know about stonehenge.

One of the ancient
world's great mysteries,

but one discovery right here
in North America has raised a

provocative theory
that something similar

might exist at the
bottom of lake Michigan.

2007, near traverse
bay, Michigan.

Underwater archeologist,
Dr. Mark Holly

and his team of divers
are scouring the lake

bottom.

- We were out looking
for a specific shipwreck.

It's just flat sand for
as far as you can go,

and it's just very eerie.

- [Tony] Instead of a wreck,

they stumble across
something much older,

at first glance it's
just a line of stones,

but Holly says
there's more to it.

- I knew that we'd
found something

that shouldn't be there,

but we had no idea what it was.

- [Tony] One set of
stones forms a circle,

and strangest of all,

look at this,

one of the stones appears
to have a detailed carving of a

mastodon, here
outlined with red chalk.

Holly estimates the site
was constructed around

10,000 years ago, before the

glaciers melted
to create the lake.

Of course Holly's
video goes viral.

- Almost immediately,
people described it as a fake,

nothing like this
had ever been found

in the Great Lakes before.

- [Tony] Real or not, the
discovery becomes known

as the lake Michigan stonehenge,

and raises the question, was it
made by the same people who

built england's famed structure.

Professor of anthropology,
Michael masters,

raises a controversial
theory that ancient

Europeans migrated to the
Americas, long before Columbus.

- This tool technology
associated with groups,

largely in France,

indicates that they came across
between 20,000 and 15,000

years ago.

- [Tony] Paleolithic
Europeans in america?

While some scholars
are open to the idea,

others point out that ancient
native Americans created their

own astounding sites.

Like those of the mound builders

in the Mississippi valley.

So who made it and how,
and what does it mean?

One more thing to ponder,

there is a region known for
strange disappearances and

anomalous sightings called
the lake Michigan triangle.

Early reports
put the find there,

but Holly now says it's
north and grand traverse bay.

So what do our experts
have to say about this

fascinating find?

First, we ask archeologists
Peter Campbell,

if this could all be a hoax,

he points to the moss
and algae on the stones.

- If they had been
placed recently,

then there would be no marine
growth on them, whatsoever.

The formation as
well appears to be

a genuine archeological site.

- [Tony] Campbell
thinks the find is ancient

and manmade, and if the
mastodon carving is real,

it might provide a window
into a long lost culture.

- It's possible, but this
really had some sort of

religious connotation and

perhaps a religious offering
or ritual related to the hunt.

- [Tony] But still,

how do they carve that
image into granite rock?

Anthropologist, Kathy strain

says it would have been
difficult, but very doable.

- So in order to
make a petroglyph,

it's a very simple process.

It is taking a rock and pecking
at the patina that's on the

outside of the target rocks.
Granite is a hard substance,

but no special tools
would have been needed.

Um, rock art appears
around the world

using a similar method and

none of those people had
anything other than a rock.

- [Tony] As far as comparisons

to the English stonehenge.

- Stonehenge is a group
of rocks put into a circle,

for religious purpose and
were very heavy to move,

and we are still
not entirely certain

how they accomplished it.

The rocks at the bottom of
lake Michigan are more in a line.

- [Tony] Take another
look at the arrangement

of the lake Michigan stones.

Strain says, it's
very revealing.

- This is likely what
we call a drive line,

and you use it to herd
animals into either,

over a cliff or into some
kind of fenced area.

So it's a very efficient
way of hunting.

- [Tony] It would
be the oldest drive

or hunting line ever found.

When the glaciers melted
more than 10,000 years ago,

they submerged the site at
the bottom of lake Michigan,

preserving it to this day,

and Campbell thinks it
could be groundbreaking,

in other ways.

- If this is in fact a
mastodon drawn on this rock,

then it is a
monumental discovery

because this would be the

earliest paleo Indian art
that's been discovered so far.

- Our verdict?

Well, Mark holley definitely
discovered something man made.

We think by early
native American tribes,

not early European immigrants,

but whether it was built for
hunting or some other purpose,

we can't know until
it's studied further.

Up next, a viewer
provides new information

on a possible
glitch in the matrix.

Why is this girl smiling,

when her reflection isn't?

(Dramatic music)

- In a previous episode,

we brought you a story that
questioned if we're actually

living in a simulated reality.

Well, one of you out
there spotted something

during that story,

which convinced us
to take a second look.

It's February, 2021
in Ontario, Canada.

Local resident, Steve Jones
has always been interested

in things that are
a bit, other worldly.

So since discovering our
show, he's become hooked.

- I've always kind of
watched the ufo shows.

I've always found
them interesting.

- [Tony] He's watching
the latest episode,

when a particular
image catches his eye.

It's one that's left our
whole team baffled.

The photo shows
two girls on the right,

taking a selfie in a mirror,

but the reflection
doesn't match the reality.

Look at the girl
in the black shirt.

On the right side, she is
smiling along with her friend,

but now look at the
reflection in the mirror,

the friend still smiling,
but the girl in the black tee,

her expression has changed.

What?

We figure the
photo had to be fake,

but in our earlier episode,

Michael primo said it doesn't
show any signs of digital

manipulation.

- I noticed no inconsistencies
in the digital information.

- [Tony] So he's stumped.

One theory put forward is
that we are actually living in a

computer simulation and it
momentarily glitched in this

photo, whatever
caused the anomaly,

it got Steve's attention.

- So after the show was over,

I, uh, spoke to
my wife and said,

you know this
kind of weird thing

went on and on the show
where the girl's face didn't match

up in the reflection.

- [Tony] But his wife isn't
the least bit perplexed.

Instead she gets her phone
and shows him similar photos of

herself and her daughter.

See how his wife's
reflection seems

to be staring at her when
she isn't even facing the mirror

and hear, his
daughter's reflection

doesn't match what she's
doing in real life at all.

- Yeah. I said, show
me how you do it,

and so she showed
me the little trick.

- Steve says the trick

is to put the camera
in panoramic mode.

That allows you to capture
more of a scene by panning across

it to stitch together multiple
images into one seamless

shot.

Now, maybe you use this
feature all the time, but if not,

we asked him to explain.

- As soon as the camera
points way from you out of that

picture, that's when you move,

and then by the time the
camera spins in front of the mirror

to catch your reflection,

you look totally different
than the original photo.

- [Tony] Photography expert,
Andrew McCarthy spots,

some telltale signs of how
these photos were made.

You can see while the
picture was being taken,

she actually shifted positions.
And you can tell by the way,

her hands seemed
to melt into each other.

So that tells me this was
stitched together for multiple

photos.

- [Tony] And as
for our original.

Primo says the
model of smartphone

that took the photo,

doesn't provide data that
identifies panoramic mode,

but he agrees that this
feature was the likely culprit.

- The testing that
we can perform,

only leaves us with
one feasible explanation.

The camera equipment was
used in a way to deceive the viewer

at the time that
it was captured.

- So our revised verdict,
this was a camera effect.

I admit we should have
figured this one out on our own.

Anyone under 30 probably
could have also solved it for us.

So at least for today,

we're pretty sure we're
not living in a simulation.

But, we'll see what
tomorrow brings.
