Well, that's an act of specific intent.

the fibers found

in the blood on the victim's neck

and the bloodied sheet found nearby?

It would appear that the killer
tried to staunch the bleeding

after stabbing the victim.
My guess is the killer

experienced a moment of remorse...

regretted what he or she had done,

and wanted to try and save the victim.

Now, in your professional opinion,

is that kind of remorse
consistent with someone

in a fugue state, Doctor?

Quite the contrary.

That would demonstrate
a high degree of self-awareness

that people in fugue states
rarely possess.
