[Fall in You]

[Episode 1]

[Xijiang] [In Memory of My Son Gu Hai, and My Daughter-in-law Qiao Yuling]

Jingyuan.

Dad.

What do you think

about your brother's death?

The German police concluded

it was an accidental traffic incident.

I'm asking about your opinion.

If you're not at ease,

I can send someone to investigate again.

Why wouldn't I be at ease?

Your abilities

are recognized throughout the entire Gu's.

You go attend the Appreciation Ceremony

on my behalf tonight.

Don't say that,

Dad.

Without you, I wouldn't be here today.

Everything I do

is for you

and the Gu family.

[Gu's Group Annual Appreciation Ceremony]

Beautiful.

I'm flattered.

Mr. Gu.

Mr. Gu.

Mr. Gu is here.

Mr. Gu.

Hello, Mr. Gu.

Mr. Gu.

Hello, Mr. Gu.

Uncle Chen.

Mr. Gu.

It's beyond our envy.

[Gu's Group Annual Appreciation Ceremony]

Everyone,

Gu's Appreciation Ceremony is about to begin.

Now, please welcome the vice president of Gu's Group,

Mr. Gu Jingyuan,

to give a speech.

[Gu's Group Annual Appreciation Ceremony]

Hello, everyone.

I'm Gu Jingyuan from Gu's Group.

I heard Chairman Gu plans to let him take over.

I'm not so sure about that.

They've found Chairman Gu's biological granddaughter.

If his granddaughter comes back to fight for Gu's,

would the man on stage be willing?

I wonder if she'll come tonight.

If they run into each other,

things could get interesting.

And also to all our shareholders

and our employees for their trust.

Thank you all

for your continued support

for Gu's and me.

Here,

on behalf of Chairman Gu,

I thank you all.

-Chairman Gu. -Chairman Gu.

Chairman Gu.

-Chairman Gu. -Chairman Gu.

Hello, Chairman Gu.

Dad.

Hello,

Uncle.

[One month ago]

[Germany, Music Academy of Germany]

I was still a senior at a music academy

in Germany,

dreaming of becoming a violinist.

I thought life would move forward as I imagined.

But I never expected

that misfortune would strike

when I was completely unprepared.

Yan, you're amazing.

You'll definitely win the tryout

this afternoon.

Thank you, Miao.

I'm sure I will.

Hello.

What bad timing.

I'll be right there.

Miao,

I can't have a meal with you later.

I have something to do. I have to go.

My dad's car broke down.

I need to pick him up.

Let's meet at the venue this afternoon.

Take care.

Bye bye.

See you later.

Bye bye.

Hello, Dad.

The competition's about to start.

I'm doing as you said,

waiting outside the venue.

Don't be anxious.

I just sent the car to the repair shop.

We had the workers check everything over.

Now we're already on the way.

Yan,

go inside first,

so you don't catch a cold.

Why is my mom coming too?

She still hasn't fully recovered.

It's such an important competition.

We want to cheer you on together.

I know you two love me the most.

A family should always support

and love each other.

With you both here to cheer me on,

I think I will win.

That's for sure, Yan.

We're almost there.

Relax.

Okay.

Hello?

Hello?

What's happening?

Oh my God.

There's someone inside!

My gosh!

How could that happen?

Dad.

Dad.

Dad! Dad!

Dad!

Dad!

Dad!

Miao.

Yan.

Miao.

I lost my parents...

From now on, I'll be an orphan.

I have no home anymore.

Yan,

you still have a home.

You are...

Yan,

sorry

I'm late.

[Wade Trust Fund]

[Wade Trust Fund]

Hello, Miss Qiao.

This is what your father left with us.

[Gu Hai]

Why did Dad leave me a house model?

What does this mean?

No!

Yan.

Yan, you're awake.

How are you feeling?

This is your bag.

Where is the thing Uncle Gu left you?

Yan,

what exactly happened?

Were you robbed?

It wasn't a robbery.

Not a single cent or bank card was taken

from my wallet.

They were clearly after the thing

my dad left me.

Dad,

I'm sorry.

The model you left me was stolen.

Why has so much happened

within just a few days?

Grandpa came to me.

I finally understand

why we moved so often over the years.

That year,

your dad insisted on marrying your mother.

I didn't agree.

In trying

to stop them,

I nearly caused your mother to miscarry.

Your father, in a fit of anger,

took your mother and left the Gu family.

From then on,

there was no word from them again.

I looked for you for many years.

I just got news of you,

but still,

I was too late.

Yan,

go back with me.

Grandpa,

Dad chose from the start

to give me Mom's surname,

and he never told me

about the Gu family's existence.

That means

he didn't want me to return to the Gu family

and didn't want me to return to you.

So,

I've decided to respect his wishes.

Why did something happen to you

right after Grandpa found you?

Why was the model taken

right after I got it?

What is that model for?

Who took the model?

Was the car accident really an accident?

It was definitely not...

an accident.

[Gu Hai, Qiao Yan: father and daughter]

[Gu Hai, Gu Jingyuan: brothers, fight over inheritance]

You mean

you suspect your parents' car accident

[Gu Hai, Qiao Yuling: husband and wife]

is connected to the Gu family finding you?

My parents lived quietly,

never making enemies.

Before the accident,

they just came out of the repair shop.

But the police said

the cause was brake failure.

And the model of this house—

the moment it appeared, it was taken.

[Model]

Don't you think that was too much of a coincidence?

Before I passed out,

I saw a scar on the person's right hand.

[Someone else]

And this letter.

[Gu Hai's death wasn't an accident. The murderer is Gu Jingyuan.]

Who sent it to you?

I don't know.

[Gu Jingyuan's personal information]

Gu Jingyuan

was adopted by your grandfather, Gu Changfeng,

from a welfare house.

He was a top student in college.

Within just 7 years,

he rose from the very bottom to the vice president.

Mr. Gu,

I know I made a mistake.

I lost my head for a moment.

Don't worry.

I'll pay pack the money soon.

You know

what to do.

No.

I can't work for you.

I dare not do it again.

I gave you a chance, but you didn't take it.

Then I'll have to respect your choice.

Rumor has it he is decisive and ruthless,

never shows mercy,

and stops at nothing to achieve his goals.

If it weren't for your grandfather

suddenly finding you,

he would already be

the heir to Gu's Group.

Mr. Gu,

my parents are sick.

My wife has no job.

Please forgive me.

Please spare me!

I'll kowtow to you!

You just reminded me.

Remember to notify his family.

Got it.

You

forced me into this!

From all this information,

it does look like

Gu Jingyuan is the prime suspect.

Don't move!

If it really was him,

he must have gone after your parents

just to inherit Gu's Group.

Gu Jingyuan,

who doesn't have ambition?

You even killed Gu Hai

for the right of inheritance!

You're nothing but a dog

raised by Chairman Gu!

Shut up!

What?

You feel guilty?

You're scared?

If Chairman Gu finds out,

he won't let you off!

Not everyone deserves

to have ambition or selfish desire.

You said I killed my brother.

Who would believe that?

And who would know

whether the one kept by his side

is a dog or a wolf?

Miao,

I need to go back to Xijiang.

I need to go back and find out the truth.

No, it's too dangerous.

But I have to go back.

I can't let my parents

die without knowing why.

But even if you go back,

what evidence can you even find?

If I can find that house model,

the truth

will come to light.

[Model]

Chairman Gu.

-Hello, Chairman Gu. -Chairman Gu.

Hello, Chairman Gu.

Dad.

Hello,

Uncle.

[Gu's Group Annual Appreciation Ceremony]

Everyone,

long time no see.

Now,

allow me to officially introduce—

this is

my long-lost

biological granddaughter,

Yan.

Come, Yan.

Come up here.

So elegant.

She's so pretty.

She is young,

but she will be

the future heir of Gu's Group.

I hope all of you

will give her your support

and look after her from now on.

My dear granddaughter,

we're home.

Remember,

this

is your home.

Uncle Xu.

Yes.

It's quite cold.

Help Dad go inside first.

Okay.

Dad.

I'll take the luggage.

Okay.

Okay.

Mr. Gu,

let's go inside first.

Okay. Okay.

Uncle,

have we met somewhere before?

Gu Jingyuan,

was it you who killed my parents?

I will find out the truth.

Uncle?

Have we?

Maybe you've forgotten me.

Qiao Yan,

I really regret

not bringing you back earlier.

Otherwise, your parents

wouldn't have...

It's quite cold at night in Xijiang

when it's windy.

If you plan to stay here often,

you'll need to get used to it.

Of course.

This is my home.

I'll definitely settle in well.

Thank you for your concern, Uncle.

Miss Qiao Yan,

your room is ready.

Let me take you upstairs.

Thank you, Uncle Xu.

Jingyuan,

Chairman Gu is waiting for you in the study.

We moved into this old house

when your father was born.

Mr. Gu is nostalgic.

He's lived here all the time.

Oh, this room

belongs to Jingyuan.

He likes peace and quiet

and doesn't like to be disturbed.

Make sure you don't enter by mistake.

Come,

your room is over here.

Dad,

you wanted to see me?

Jingyuan,

come, have a seat.

What?

You're unhappy?

Of course not.

I'm happy for you

that Qiao Yan has come back.

Your brother died in a car accident.

Yan is my biological granddaughter

and the only blood relative I have left in this world.

Over the years,

I've owed her far too much.

I must make it up to her double.

Dad,

what am I

to you?

Yan's uncle

and my adopted son who has been by my side for many years.

Since Yan is willing to come back,

you should get along well with her.

When I'm gone,

you must take good care of her

and help her safeguard the Gu family's business.

That is your duty

as my closest

adopted son.

Do you understand?

Yes.

If there's nothing else,

I'm going back.

Yuan,

don't

let me down.

Yuan,

Yan is my biological granddaughter

and the only blood relative I have left in this world.

You must take good care of her

and help her safeguard the Gu family's business.

Oh my!

Come out.

What are you doing in my room?

This house is too big.

I got lost.

Just now,

Uncle Xu specially showed me around.

But

I didn't remember the way.

So I ended up in the wrong room.

When you walk into the wrong room,

your first reaction should be to leave,

not to stay.

You're right.

Just now,

I was about to leave,

but you suddenly came back.

I...

The way you looked

scared me,

so I hid.

What way did I look?

You're very happy today, huh?

You think you made a fool of me, huh?

Qiao Yan,

why exactly

did you come back to the Gu family?
