Hello, I'm Alec Baldwin. Tonight, a
conversation with Kim Kardashian West,

star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians,
has become a one -woman business

empire, in large part due to her
unparalleled status on social media and

multi -million dollar company, KKW
Beauty.

Tonight, we'll explore her place in
American culture, her marriage to Kanye

West, and how life has changed with the
arrival of her three children. We're

glad you've joined us. A conversation
with Kim Kardashian West coming up right

now.

I mean, I think that it serves us to say
that I have known you a little bit for

a while. Yeah. And my daughter, Ireland,
was very friendly with your half

-sisters when they, the girls, when they
were little.

Yes. Once upon a time. They're not
little anymore.

Yeah. I actually think I have a picture
of all of us.

I should find this on Halloween. I want
that picture.

And I was a mouse, I remember.

And I was living with my mom. I moved
back in with her. I tend to do that

sometimes. The younger, the better, I
think, to justify the mouse costume.

Yes. You're not mouse material now.

No, I always dress up.

It was a juicy sweatsuit, and I just put
little ears because I was... It was a

juicy mouse costume.

Yeah, I was too cool to dress up at that
point.

I don't know if you remember this, but I
remember an interview at some event in

L .A. We were at some party after...

The Emmys or something. I saw you at the
valet and I said to you, when are you

going to get into the movie business?

I said, you're beautiful on the level
that you should be in the movie

Actually, I do remember this. Remember
that at the valet parking? I do remember

this. I was kind of laying it on you a
little thick. I was like, you know, tick

tock. What are you waiting for? You
know, go do that.

Now, obviously, you had this robbery in
Paris, which was how long ago? When did

that happen?

Two years ago. Two years ago.

One of the things I think about is you
are such a child of Southern California.

Yeah. Your dad, a famous lawyer there,
your family raised there, you live

and obviously what happened two years
ago is not a good advertisement for you

go move to Paris.

But why do you still live in L .A. when
obviously you can live anywhere?

I know you probably have a lot of homes,
different places, but why don't you

live somewhere else and maybe have a
little more privacy there?

I have had thoughts, I'd say, in the
last two years. My life has definitely

changed a lot in the last two years from
that experience and just wanting more

privacy. In the last three months, I
feel like I've come out of my shell a

little bit more back to who I was. I
felt like I, for a good year, I almost

myself. What do you mean by that?

I was always, never depressed.

but just didn't want to, wasn't
motivated to get up and work like I used

Yeah, it like shook me. Is there a part
of you that you think to yourself, you

know, I brought this on myself to a
degree? Oh, absolutely. Not robbery, but

attain this level where sometimes, never
healthy, never right, you become a

target. Absolutely.

And just, I mean, I'm totally a realist,
so I know.

You post on social media, your
locations, your jewelry, your bags, what

doing, where you're going, your cars,
your stuff. You know, I would always

about my stuff.

I measured.

There was a lot of me that measured who
I was by how much I had.

That was just, I thought, oh, I'm worth
so much. Yeah. And so that changed in

me. And that needed to change in me. So
I'm.

grateful for the experience. And even
though it was horrific and I wouldn't

it upon anyone, it really did deeply
change me to where now I feel like I can

get back to myself. I can put on makeup
and heal. Like I was literally, my mom

had to come over and say, will you get
out of bed? Will you put on something

else other than sweat? Put on a little
bit of makeup. Feel like yourself again.

Is the word scared?

I was so scared for anyone to know where
I was.

Like if I went to a restaurant, I
thought, okay, they're going to post a

of me online, know that I'm at this
restaurant, know that my home's open,

that they could go and maybe rob my home
or rob this or know I'm here. I always

had that thought in my mind of just
danger.

I never thought about anything scary
before until then. I felt like I

was living in a bubble, and that opened
me up.

Just so much. But aren't you in a
bubble? I mean, like when that happened,

there some breach in what you normally
do?

How was that weird or how was that
different?

Well, I lived my life differently the
way that my security was set up. I

have security 24 -7. I didn't have
security outside of my hotel room. Now

life is security outside of our house at
all times.

a few security when I travel, always 24
-7 outside my door.

I just move totally differently now.

I never thought of that where, like, on
social media, there are images and

there's a story that's told, which
basically says, I'm in this building

here's the valise full of Harry Winston
I'm carrying with me. Absolutely. What

an invitation to disaster.

I even was so open to say, I remember I
posted a video, all my sisters and all

my friends are leaving. I'm here by
myself. I don't feel like going out. I'm

going to let them go.

I mean, I was even that open.

And, you know, reading the testimony
from the robbers and seeing they had

tracked me for two years and how they
followed me and them admitting that it

on social media really shook things up
for me and how I move now. I'll only

if it's after the fact.

I always post, if I want to post
something, I'll video it, save it, and

when I leave.

And now marriage, I've been married a
couple times, and marriage is an

institution where you, in the best of
times, you're cooperating with someone

you are like -minded and you're trying
to work as a team.

And what's Kim Kardashian's secret as to
how she has...

found a way to to make her husband the
cooperative team player i'm sure he is

home that he might not be on the set of
the late night tv show um

you know what i let him be who he wants
to be i let him

have his own views and opinions even if
they're different than mine um i grew up

in a household where you know bruce is
my stepdad had one political view and

know Maybe my real father had a
different political view or my mom. And

just always talk about it and be really
open about it. And it was always okay to

have different views.

And so I think it's just having an open
mind and letting, for me, I love to let

my husband be who he is.

Definitely have conversations if I don't
understand something in private.

And talk about that. And, you know, it
goes the same with him and me. It seems

to me that it's not a question of you
being the opposite of him.

It's a question of he's more public in a
partisan sense.

And you're not.

I mean, a lot of the biggest stars and
the greatest stars.

run their offense, so to speak, by
muting all that stuff and say, I'm going

leave that out. They're issue -oriented.
This causes they support most of them

very uncontroversial. That seems to be
the choice you made. Is that right?

I do.

I wasn't really into politics as much
until I...

I think more recently. And even so, I'm
not so into politics. I'll find

something that I believe in. And I
figured out how to use my voice in that

But as far as when it does come to my
business, I don't. To me, it's all very

separate. You have to keep that
separate. I did not do that.

Yeah. Neither does my husband.

Look who came to town. Look, the diva
came late again. Well, guess what we've

been doing?

What?

Answering your phone calls.

And I just think it's rude that mom
would, first of all, not. Drop you like

that. And now she's not even answering
the phone. That she's not even going to

take on her responsibility.

I haven't talked to her all day. What do
I do? Well, why don't you give Chloe

and I each 5 % and we'll. And we'll be
your manager.

You start a reality show that eventually
becomes the reality show.

you know catapults you is that cliche to
become this internationally famous

person and uh is it safe to say that
even maybe early on were you like

in your home going okay we can stop this
now like was there ever a time you

thought okay i've a year of it two years
because season what now yeah season 16

16 yeah did you ever imagine no 16 no
but what's so funny is you can go back

and courtney

has been on camera at our season
premiere.

And I think Ryan Seacrest or someone
asked, so what do you see for you in the

future? And Courtney said, well, season
16, Kylie's going to get married or have

a baby. Or she said something that has
so come through.

And it's so crazy to look back at those
moments. But I mean, we thought, OK,

who's going to watch this?

We think we're funny. We think we're
entertaining.

Who was the friend of your mother that
said?

Kathy Lee Gifford. Kathy Lee Gifford.
You guys should have a camera in here

shoot this.

Yeah. And so we did. We got one. And it
hasn't left.

And it's honestly, it's so much fun. I
get to work with my family every single

day. I get to be home, see my kids more.

Couldn't have dreamed of a better job.
Had no clue it would last this long. We

thought maybe we'd be lucky to get a
season two.

I think what's crazy about the show is
it's really, at the beginning, we wanted

it so badly.

Fame or, you know, whatever comes along
with that. And then now I think the show

has really, like, proven that we are
just this normal family.

Like, it was, we started off one way and
we're kind of... Do you think you're a

normal family?

I really do. I really think, as crazy as
that sounds, I really think we are

normal. Well, I wouldn't say crazy is
the word. It's a stretch, I would say.

Yeah. It's a stretch.

If the net worth of The Average Family
is in a couple of billion dollars, then

sure. Okay. I mean, I will say no sitcom
writer could have written

out what our reality has been.

But do you think it's given you a chance
on camera, on the show, or otherwise in

your public life to say the things you
want to say and do what you want to do?

Is there a creative expression you want
to have?

Yes, I think this season really dig into
my...

passion for criminal justice reform.
We're going to get to that.

The mass incarceration thing.

Past episodes, just even Bruce's
transition to Caitlin opened up a lot of

No, but I want to get back to this idea
that, you know, I mean, they say to Mick

Jagger or somebody in the beginning,
they say, how long do you think this is

going to last? He says, I can't imagine
us doing this off to a 30.

Yeah. You know, and now he's 75 years
old, you know.

Did you have a sense when you got to
season four or five or six that it was

limitless and it could keep going?

Limitless. And you wanted it to keep
going?

Yes. And what about the, what about, I'm
not going to say.

The integration of it, because the first
thing that comes to mind when I think

about your show and any show like that
is that in some sense, the producers of

the show and the creators of the show,
certainly early on, want to keep the

costs low. Reality shows are known for
being like lower cost until, of course,

then they blow up and become these big
things.

Well, every season we'll all sit down,
each family member.

separately and then a group session with
all the producers.

And we just talk and tell them what
we're doing. I have this photo shoot on

day. Hey, I'm going to DC here. I'm
doing this. Well, why are you going to

What are you doing? What can we follow?

And we kind of just wing it, but we have
an idea of what our schedules

are. And we, like the best example I can
say is Bruce's transition to Caitlin's

because we weren't sure.

When the timing was and when that was
happening and what, you know, Caitlin

wanted to reveal about her life and what
she was going to share. And, you know,

we ended up filming a lot and waiting
until the right time that everyone was

comfortable to share that information.

And I believe that was super powerful to
so many people that like as we feel

like we're winging it.

And we don't know what to expect, how to
communicate, what's going on, the

feelings, the emotions, and it's all
coming out.

We have a rule that we kind of film
everything as much as possible. Who

the rules?

We kind of all did as a family at the
beginning. And apropos of that, why does

everybody think you're the oldest?

Maybe because I'm the boss.

Are you the boss?

I feel like I am. You're the dead
mother.

I feel like I am. Me and my mom together
really, yeah, we really just kind

of knew what we wanted, have our vision,
go for it.

You and your mother are Lennon and
McCartney.

Yeah. And the other two are Ringo and
George.

But this is something that you took
control of. I really wanted it.

No one else.

cared or knew and i don't know why i
always since i was 11 12 years old and i

watched the real world was your dad
alive not when we started your dad right

your dad passed away when you were how
old 22 no yeah i thought it was much

younger no well if you don't mind what
memories do you have of him everything i

mean he was the best dad so i had the
best childhood the best experiences

Just the back. And your mother, after a
period of time, became very close with

him and they were friends. Yeah. Yeah. I
think that was just maybe like two

years, like during whole OJ trial where
they didn't speak, like on opposite

sides. And then after that, they were
like, we're not going to, we're not

to go through this. We're not going to
act like this. We're close. We're a

family. No matter what.

Collaborative divorce is the way to go.
Yeah.

Take my word for it.

But the, but what do you remember about
him?

He was so hardworking, so funny, always,
like, dancing down the hallway, playing

jokes on everyone, always did our
homework with us. When you guys were a

with your mom, you didn't live in the
Valley.

No. We lived in Beverly Hills, and then
my dad moved to the Valley when I was

16. And my mom and Bruce moved there in
1995.

Like, way before Calabasas was popular.
At that time, it was like, why are you

moving to Calabasas? That's in the
middle of nowhere.

Well, I remember that Ireland went to
school with Kendall.

Caitlin, who was Bruce then, was their
coach at the school, their track coach,

oddly enough.

And on more than a few occasions, I
would pull up behind a big SUV with a

license plate, and that would get one of
the most famous athletes in American

history.

And he would shake my hand. And I say
this not with any judgment.

When I knew him and he was married to
Chris and they had a family, he brought

the girls to school. There wasn't a drop
of Caitlyn in him when I knew him. Not

a drop. He shook my hand. I'm off to the
golf course with Arnold.

And I'm flying down to San Antonio and
giving a speech. She was all speeches

and, you know, motivational stuff. He
was doing his work, his career.

And so when that happened, I was like.

What? Not that I had any judgment of
that. I thought, I didn't see any of

coming. Yeah.

Nothing. Nothing. You feel the same way?

Absolutely. I found out when I was maybe
25.

I had walked in on Caitlin. My mom was
out of town, and I walked in on Caitlin,

all dressed up. It was Bruce, but
dressed up as a woman in the garage at

mom's house.

And I ran in, packed a bag so fast,
shaking, and ran out and called Courtney

and said, I have to come spend the
weekend with you.

And I was hysterically crying.

And she just was like, what is it? Did
you catch Bruce cheating? And I was

I wish. I don't know what I just saw. I
don't know what. I wish.

I ran out, didn't come home for the
weekend.

And when you next had the opportunity to
discuss it with her, him slash her or

your mother if you don't mind my asking
what was the dialogue about that well uh

it was bruce at the time so he had
called me and said one day i'll sit down

i'll explain this all to you but until
then please don't tell a soul and please

don't tell your mother she'll kill me
and i but didn't she know

i had no idea no you know i had no idea
and so i thought okay if i tell her i'm

gonna break up their marriage and my two
little sisters aren't gonna have you

know their dad around so i better keep
my mouth shut and i didn't say a word

know so do you are you gonna fully
become a woman um because you never told

that but i've heard it it's been like
the rumor

So you're hesitating. I see myself in
the future that way.

But one of the things is in stories
about him, prior wives said they knew.

Yeah, I think what I gathered was he had
told my mom. Did my mom know this?

No. But he had told my mom.

She said they were.

They were skiing on a ski lift at a
charity ski tournament that he was in.

And they go up and he says, you know, I
took, they just started dating. And he

says, I took hormones, you know,
whenever. I don't even know when. And

like, oh, like thinking like steroids,
you know, Olympics, whatever. She didn't

know. Like, okay.

And then he goes, all right, let's go
off this jump. And, like, you know, gets

off. That's a load off my mind. I told
him about the hormones. He tells his

therapist. Yeah. And she just didn't
really, you know. I think, you know, he

four kids. She had four kids. Did he
probably tell her what, you know.

He wanted to tell her no. Did people see
what they wanted to hear? Did he hear

what she wanted to hear? No. I think
they kind of avoided it.

She was so in love with him.

She didn't think anything would be an
issue in their relationship. Did she

dream that he would, you know,
transition into a woman?

I don't think that was ever something
she would have dreamed in a billion

That's why I love that we did share our
story on our show because it gave people

an understanding that you can have.

every different emotion, and that's
okay.

And it's, you know, at the end of the
day, we just want Caitlin to be happy

be herself.

I think for most people, and this is an
opinion, I don't have any empirical

research for this, but for most people,
that to get married once and then you

get married again, you're not reckless
or careless about it. The more, you've

been married three times, and each time
you get married, it's more precious.

You're sitting there going, I need this
to work. I can't go through another

divorce. I don't want to strike out
again.

We don't go into these things predicting
failure or risking failure. We want it

to work.

And so, I mean, I got married again. I
get very cynical about that. But then I

think to myself, I'm the luckiest person
in the world.

Where did you meet him?

Kanye, I met him in L .A.

Jimmy Kimmel was doing a TV show with
him.

And they had me be the actress.

that Kanye begged to get me to be the
actress for this show so he could meet

And that's where you met him? Yeah. On
the set of the show? A pilot, yeah.

And were you inclined to have a deep,
committed relationship with somebody

you loved? Were you like the classic,
no, please, don't? I was really

by him, and he's very charming, so I...

I think you bring out the charm in a lot
of men quite frankly, but go ahead.

But I had a boyfriend at the time. Oh,
you did? So, yeah, so we didn't really

there, but we connected and kind of were
cool. What was your boyfriend at the

time missing?

You eventually fired him, to use your
husband's favorite president's term.

He fired you, fired him. What was he
missing?

We were young.

The reason you were young. I mean, the
boyfriend, I mean, we were together a

years, but, you know, he was young, we
were young.

Your mother was one of the first guests
on my podcast.

Really? Yeah.

Chris came on my podcast here in the
city, I asked her, and wanted to talk

you guys and your family and your life.

And she said something which was, you
know, her response then, this was a few

years ago, six or seven years ago.

She said, you know...

People will make these judgments about
my family and my girls and everything.

But all of them are independent
businesswomen who don't need to rely on

for money.

They've all made their own money. She
goes, that was important to me.

And I thought to myself, do you ever get
to the point where you're like, I don't

want to say how much money do you need.

I think about that a lot. You do? I do.

Because. How it affects your kid.

How it affects my kids. I think about it
with my children all the time.

Kanye and I always say if we had what we
have now in the bank versus billions in

the bank, our lives really wouldn't be
that much different. So how much do you

need?

That's definitely not Kanye's goal ever
is financial goals. I'd say I was a

little bit more like that was such a
priority for me early on in my career.

just I would do anything and every offer
that would really come in financially.

for whether it was a shoe product or a
food product or whatever I was

endorsing.

And it did teach me a lot along the way.
Now it's really what I am

authentically doing, and I've learned so
much about what I want to spend my time

doing.

So money isn't my motivation like it
used to be.

which I love being in that place and in
that just head space.

I'm too old to be interviewing you in
one sense, because I have all these

references. But do the Kardashian
sisters still, like, hang out together?

it's like a scene from, like, Bye Bye
Birdie. You're all in your pajamas, and

you've got your feet up in the air, and
you're laying on a bed, and you're

having your snacks and your drinks, and
what is now your mom and her husband?

But is it the same, the essence of it? I
think we're even closer.

Like, our job filming together...

even if we're in a fight, forces us to
be together. To deal. Yeah.

And it literally is like therapy. You
have to deal.

We never, I mean, obviously with
editing, they'll figure it out, but we

like to end an episode on a bad note.
How much do the women in your family,

their husbands, are in the show
currently?

Or is that something that...

On an as -needed basis. Yeah, it varies.
I mean, depending on what Kanye's

doing, if he wants to show that, you
know, to the world, he'll be on. But no

is obligated to be on. He'll do a little
bit of that. Yeah, it's just if, you

know, whatever works.

And you decide how much that is pushed.

I mean, Kanye and I decided as a family.

Right, but you don't have exactly the
same deal. Can we get Kanye on for the

Christmas special?

Yeah, no, no.

But I also think, like, being with a man
like Kanye...

You kind of also have to not relearn,
but I guess learn how to be a little bit

not so, you know, independent.

Because I've always been so independent
and working and this is my schedule.

And, you know, when you get married and
you have a husband that has their career

and then you have kids and your
independence has, you have to like let

little bit. My wife has played that card
with me. Yeah.

And I've had to learn that being with a
man like Kanye. But you married a man

who's extraordinarily successful.

I don't want to get vulgar about it, but
you come to the marriage with your own

pile. Yeah. And do you sit there and go,
God, I thought that guy at the surf

shop was cute, whatever.

Did you ever think you could marry a
civilian who was nothing and had nothing

and was totally out of love?

Or do you just realize that the orbit
you're in, you're going to meet some

pretty stellar people? I mean, I didn't
really care. I thought, I mean, I felt

like I did date some...

Some normal people.

Now, let me get this straight here.

Do you think Alice Johnson would still
be in prison if your husband wasn't a

Trump supporter?

I do believe she would still be in
prison. Alice and I spoke about this. We

spoke on the phone yesterday.

And we spoke about this a few times. She
always says, Alice always

says, if it wasn't for Kanye.

speaking up in support of Trump, then
she would still be in jail. Yeah, they

might have returned your phone call.

You called Ivanka first. I called Ivanka
first. That was the beachhead there.

Yeah. And I just felt really passionate
about Alice and just thought it was so

unfair. And I felt like Ivanka, I was
hoping that she would hear me out,

understand me.

And she did and recommended I speak to
her husband.

And he heard me out.

Now, for people who don't know the
story, she's from Tennessee and she's in

a ridiculous,

stiff sentence.

Yeah, life without the possibility of
parole.

She was the phone mule.

And so she didn't know who, she didn't
know how much, what kind of drugs, she

didn't know anything. She just was the
person that would pick up the phone.

And I listened to an FBI wiretap nest in
the garment district to

research a film. And we went there and
there were these tapes and there's all

codes for weed and drugs.

She had to say one sentence, some weird
sentence.

And and that was it. That was her job.
Life in prison. Life in prison. No prior

offenses. But I just felt sympathy for
her. And I felt like she's a mom.

She her son died, divorced, lost her
job.

She needed to make money. It could have
been anybody.

Anybody can get caught up in a situation
like that. And if I knew that I had the

power to change her life, I was going to
try.

And where is your awareness of her?
Where is it in the timeline with the

robbery?

A year and a half after? After. So in
the wake of the Paris robbery, you have

bit of a sympathy for people who are
wrongly incarcerated.

Yeah. Even when I was having to look at
the papers of the faces of the men that

tied me up, held, you know, did all of
that to me, I still felt

like...

i'm so glad that they confessed and they
have their written confessions because

they had masks not like it would be so
hard for me unless i went with height

voices like that's all i could the
average person is not a good witness

emotional yeah and it and it was but it
made me also feel for people because i

knew i was being very cautious and very
careful in identifying you know my

situation

But I felt like so many people, you can
just say they want to get the job done

and they'll just pick anyone. And I went
in it like I'm not going to be that

person. You were speaking about this and
in other things that we researched and

watched you talk about this.

You're speaking in a way that seems
relatively unfamiliar to you to causes

issues and mass incarceration, if you
want to append some label to it.

And do you find this is where you're
headed, which is that the new you,

to the robbery or no, as a mom or no, as
a wife or whatever is deepening your

feelings about life and what our
obligations are, do you find this what's

happening to you as you're rowing your
ship in another direction?

Absolutely. Yeah, I think I just want to
continue doing what I'm doing. I feel

like I have a voice.

They're listening.

We're making, you know, positive things
happen. I'm very focused.

What's the next move, do you think, or
what are you contemplating?

I mean, the bigger goal is to get these
bills passed that really change the laws

to, you know, make the distinction
between, you know, crack and cocaine

completely separate.

Start getting people out. Fairer
sentencing. Yeah. I think sentencing

bail reform. I mean, there's so much.
Once you start getting into it and you

start really seeing how messed up the
system is, you hear this case and this

case. I mean, I basically have a team of
attorneys headed by one girl that I

fund cases that I'm really passionate
about. So you're putting up your own

money? Yeah.

So, you know, I'm working on this guy
right now that life.

for marijuana and a half a gram of
cocaine.

I mean, like ridiculous, ridiculous
sentences.

And you have people, you have a group of
people who are counseling you and

advising you. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it
goes with the feeling. So, I mean, I

letters all day long from prison and
hear people's stories. But I felt like

Alice Johnson found me. You know, like I
connected with her. So I really do have

to connect.

Your children who are how old now?

Five. My daughter's five. My son is two
and a half.

And my little baby girl is nine months.

What would you like to see your kids
enjoy

that you've enjoyed?

And what would you like to see them
avoid that you wish you were able to

Going back to your own childhood with
your dad and your family. What's in this

life, and you're still very young, but
you've had a pretty full life. I've had

very full life. Pretty big life.

I feel that.

I want my kids to have the childhood
that I had. To me, it was magical. It

perfect.

Even when my parents weren't together,
everyone was so nice and friendly and

never saw them fight, had... A loving
home.

Such a loving home.

Mom always cooking.

Tennis on the weekend. Swimming. I mean,
just literally your most perfect

childhood. And I do think that me and my
sisters and my brother do such a good

job at having our kids have such a
normal life.

Like, they all are best friends. They
all really enjoy. Hang out with your

nieces and nephews. Yeah. As a
Kardashian.

And it's so normal and so fun. Despite,
like, what you see and all the, like,

glitz, we know that if all else fails,
we have each other and nothing really

matters. And I think knowing that is the
best secure feeling in the world. I

want my kids to have confidence. I mean,
Kanye's their dad, so I think they'll

have a little bit of confidence.

I'm sure he'll...

instill all of that in them i mean it's
just all the love that i felt i want

them to have and and feel that from both
of their parents and they do they have

a great great life and and they know
that they're lucky and blessed and

happy kids you know i want to ask you
very quickly um because you are a part

a famous family i'm going to say a name
and you tell me your your instant word

to describe them then i'm going to stay
there well i'll leave it to you and then

Yeah, we really are. Chloe's really,
really like the mama bear.

Courtney is the most practical one.

She's level -headed.

When I see the three of you on TV,
Courtney's the one who looks at them.

Very organic and earthy and very gluten

They would probably say that I am, like,
very business -driven, maybe

not in, like, the best sense, more that
I put that sometimes before other

things.

I think they would say I'm funny.

I don't get credit for being funny, but

My mom, just the best. Like, there's no
other words to describe her besides,

like, the best human being.

But with you having an extraordinarily
successful business operation.

And did you find that in... Two things.
Did you find that in order to achieve

that, you needed to surround yourself
with the right people?

I definitely feel lucky, but I've
learned so much along the way. Right.

I have... And you made it your business
to learn.

Yeah. I think you really have to dive in
and see what went wrong. You want to

know why.

And my mom is the same way. So we will
take it and...

not like harp on it or people can spend
so much time worrying about what went

wrong that you don't like dive into the
new project and really figure out how to

fix it and flip it so we've done i'm
really proud of my mom because she

has figured that out for us and figured
out i mean but the bottom line is

everyone asks me about business or how
do you do this or how do you and it's

have to get up and work like i am not
too proud to if this didn't work out

work at a clothing store, whatever I
love.

I'm not too proud to do that. So I see
so many of my friends grew up really

privileged, and I have really successful
friends who have rolled their sleeves

up, figured out the family business if
they wanted to, and that's the key. I

mean, I never really drank, so I never
really partied. I feel like that was a

big...

factor in my business and getting up on
time and being really respectful of

people's time.

That's always been a big thing for me.

Even Kendall and Kylie, I would ask them
all the time or check in when they

started modeling and knowing that I know
people in the business, like don't be

on your phone too much, you know, pay
attention, be on time, be present.

At the end of the day, people will hire
you back if they like working with you

and if you're a professional and easy to
work with.

And I think me and my sisters really
pride ourselves on being that.

Has your definition of success changed?

It used to be all about me. It used to
be all about me. How much could I make?

Where can I go? What am I wearing? What
am I driving? What are we doing today?

That, yeah. Team.

Yeah. And now it's, you know, what's on
the kids' schedules?

What's my husband doing?

Can I make you happy? Can I cook this?
Can I, you know, it's just a different

life.

And I'm happy in that.

I used to, we'd get our hair and makeup
done filming.

And when we'd be done, I was like, what
is the hottest restaurant in Hollywood?

Where can I go? Where can I be seen?
Who's there? What are they doing? Oh my

God, I need, it's my car wash.

Yeah. And now I'd say most of, it
started with Kanye because he lived a

you know, his work life is very public.
But then like when he was off, he was

very private. And I was, so everything
had to be public for me back then.

And so I had to.

kind of flip it and i now it's like on
my time off i'm like where are the

locations that i could go eat go on
vacation where no one will see it where

just all i want is privacy and i never
thought i'd ever be to that point not in

the annoying way like i get it you know
i'm in the business it comes with the

territory there's cameras around i get
that and i'm never that i hate

You know, I hate my fame.

I don't. I love it. You know, everything
that's come with it, the good and the

bad, I love it. You know, and I'm happy
with how my life has turned out and what

I've accomplished.

The good and the bad, I've learned from
it all. You know, what's interesting to

me is I would never rule out that I
could be jealous of Kanye West.

I didn't realize how much I could be
jealous of Kanye. You said the cooking

thing. When you threw the cooking thing
on the table, I thought.

I'm so jealous. But you know what?

That's really cute.

But I you also get like a little caught
up because now I'm like, oh, we have our

chefs. We have this. I have to check
myself and say, OK, well, he did fall in

love with the Kim that was cooking and
always around the house. And I grew up.

never had chefs growing up. I never saw
any of that. So it was always my mom in

the kitchen. And I want my kids to see
that. So I've made a promise.

To myself and my husband, I'm going to
cook more.

went on my first vacation with him, I
was like, I've never seen anything like

this before.
