dwarf, had failed

to sell his university to the Japanese,
after he left, dismissed,

disgraced to a knighthood and insider
dealings in the city,

After the policemen from Hendon had come
and gone, finding the University of

Lowlands had beds which were too small,
but a moral cesspit had no fit place for

young and impressionable bobbies.

Then the darkness descended, and the
wind swept over the barren lands.

The doctor was sick at heart.

The nymphs had departed.

The center had fallen apart.

It seemed that Lowlands was to die.

Then, one morning, sitting by the
stagnant lake brooding upon the death of

empires, the doctor felt a new breeze
blowing from the west.

Sweet voices whispered to him from the
waters, speaking of a new initiative.

A reprieve for Rorans.

Massive investment in the new
technologies.

And a new vice -chancellor.

The second coming.

A new star rising from the west.

And what rough beast, a tower come round
at last, louches towards lowlands

to be born.

Kind of a little bitty pissant place,
