For me, that was my dad,
lovingly known by all as Po.

His father immigrated
from Sicily,

eventually opened the
Golden Gate in 1939,

when he passed, Pops took
over the family business.

And as Pops got older, I set
some of my own dreams aside

- to help do all I could do
- Thank you.

- to keep the Golden Gate
in the Moona family.

Much like Bay Ridge,
the Golden Gate

has always been a melting
pot where everyone is welcome

regardless of race,
creed, or color.

Why Pops saw it that way,

and how this street sign came
about is my Brooklyn story.
