unable to pay their trades.

So, just to confirm,

How did we pay for our landscaping
if that budget doesn't get released

till the last week, and some of
us...most of us are now in the red?

It's all well and good to say
you need to start landscaping

It's guest bedroom week

but the budget blowout
from hell week

has turned into anger at House 2.

heavily into demolition.

It actually ended up
bigger than we thought.

It's, like, almost
the size of our master.

Scotty said to us,
"You got an easy week this week."

Said, "Get out and start
doing your landscaping."

How do you do that
when you've gotta do all this?

With only one room win on
the board, Rachel and Ryan

have found themselves back
in the red and they're not happy.

We were so excited and happy
to get out of the red

and then, boom, two weeks later,
well in the red again.

What an absolute
just kick in the nuts.

Three weeks to finish,

and their financial rut
couldn't come at a worse time.

Obviously, a lot of people
are feeling it.

We're definitely feeling it.

Our living/dining/hallway has just
astronomically blown our budget

way out, way out,

and we're still, like, 20K over
last week's budget of 25.

And not only that,
our landscaper has started

and we don't have any money
to pay him.

We did have money.

We won money.

The money's now gone.

With so much demo to do,
Rachel and Ryan's funds are so low

he's forced to work with
a skeleton crew to save money.

I'm not usually like this.

It's just that I really want to
try and make it as best we can.

Well, we need to make it
as best we can

because, if we keep spending money
we don't have,

we're gonna end up with four gyprock
walls and a light in the middle.

Rachel and Ryan's guest bedroom
will be a kid's room, and is located

in the old part of the house,
to the right of the door.

Their kid's room is inspired
by their 5-year-old,

and will include
a bunk bed and a desk area.

Mama Rachel added her own
personal touch,

designing the wallpaper and using
her children's artwork on the walls.

It's a busy week.

While this week's battle is being
fought out in the guest bedrooms,

the long game will be won and lost
out here,

the final big hurdle,
the landscaping.

Budget has never been
more important.

For Ankur and Sharon,
that's a big problem.

just killed us, like, budget-wise.

their garden plans.

I feel like we've sacked heaps.

I think it's not deleting items,

it's moving all these areas
into one area.

Think about it, if you lived here,
would you have a pizza oven

near a pool or would you have it
near a veggie garden,

like, a veggie garden area?

and they're all stressed

lofty plans that we have,

that only part of them

One of their big forced changes
is the downsizing

of their full-sized basketball court
to a quarter-sized grass court.

It's been a rough 48 hours
for Sharon, who, yesterday,

was in the depths of despair

after the judges' brutal feedback
for their hallway.

I feel like the budgets

who are ruthless

when it comes to trades and
literally kick people off site.

We're not like Sarah-Jane and Tom

where they've got one full-on tradie
on site and he's a machine.

You know, Rach and Ryan,
same thing, plumber.

And then also Jen and Dylan, like,
they haven't had trades on site,

they've told me,
for a couple of days.

They've saved a couple of days

because they've been doing
their chippies as builders.

We should've been allocated
more budget or something, somehow,

to make it an even playing field,
I don't know.

The reason why everyone
gets the same budget

is because every contestant gets
the same land and square metreage

and, on the point of no trades,

this game has been won by
many novices in the past.

Just last year, Mitch and Mark
won with no trade skills.

Alisa and Lisandra
were both police officers

when they won a combined total
of $1 million in 2013 and '14.

And Steve was a chimneysweep
and Chantelle a milliner

when they won over 700 grand
in 2014.

And so it is on The Block.

Some weeks, you're up against it and
some weeks you have an advantage.

Ankur and Sharon's one advantage
this week

is the relatively good shape
their guest bedroom is in.

In our bedroom,
we're actually lucky enough that

there's already three walls framed
so we've only got one wall of demo.

That's about it, really.

is in the old part of the house,
next to their master bedroom.

They're also doing a kid's bedroom
geared more for the teenager,

with a queen bed, rattan bedhead,

Compared to a normal week,
it's quite insane.

Over in House 4, Dylan and Jenny are
toiling away on their guest bedroom.

bunk beds and a hanging chair.

But where Dylan and Jenny are
really out in front of the others

is out the front and out back

where their million-dollar garden
is starting to take shape.

We've been on top of landscaping
since day one,

so our landscaper's been workin'
there before the mud came.

Inge's been goin' for five weeks

so I don't see how these guys are
gonna have a chance in three weeks.

Yeah, I just got back in,

I was runnin' barrows of concrete
for, like, an hour and a half

to get the stairs
going between levels,

the veggie garden,
lawn and the pool.

As well as a veggie patch
and pool, Dylan and Jenny

are also planning an orchard,
an outdoor spa and beehives.

And, if there is any sign of anger
in House 4,

it isn't about their gardens.

Unfortunately, my nail bag has
been stolen which is not good.
