the planning of the hallway,

not the execution.

more. So, good on them.

we were...totally robbed of judging.

We were finished, 99%,
in my opinion.

And, like,
I genuinely am happy for them,

but they literally were missing
skirts and arcs, and...

And painting and filling and...
And painting and filling.

So, it was...

..I was really cool and then I saw
that and I was like,

"Wow, that's really lame, judges.
That's really (BLEEP) lame."

That sounds a bit salty to me,
which is understandable,

considering Tom and Sarah-Jane missed
out on the win by just half a point.

Shaynna liked the distinction
they made

between the old and the new parts
of the build.

You know what I loved
what they've done?

That we've got all the beautiful
cornicing

and the roof goes down,

so it gives that beautiful break
of the old and the new,

but carrying through
the colours and the feeling.

Wow!

But she wasn't sure about

the placement of the chairs
and the fireplace.

I don't think I'd sit here a lot.
I wouldn't read a book here.

Why wouldn't you hang out here?

I would 100% hang out here.

I feel like you'd definitely use

We were proud of the effort

So, we went back to that,
and it just was a kick in the guts.

everyone's guest bedroom
is located in the existing house.

This week, Scotty gave us 15 grand.

House Four's guest bedroom is located
at the front of the house,

opposite the master.

It's the House Decider Challenge room

that Ankur and Sharon renovated
back in week one.

It does feel country.
Yeah.

But I'm not sure which continent

So, this week
we're doing a kids room.

a kids' bedroom,

which is located on the northern side
of the old house.

We have been so excited
for this kids' room.

This is a room that
we have been thinking about

We wanted it to be magical,

We had a design consultation
with our five-year-old

but today she's not so sure.

I'm all over the shop,

second-guessing myself,

located next to the master suite,

for a versatile space.

that's really
nice, cosy, calming space

for kids, teenagers, toddlers.

So, like, we were extremely thankful
for us to get on the show

and actually express ourselves,

and just the fact that
you guys keep mentioning that,

and that part
is the most hurtful for us.

is located in the existing house,

next to the main bathroom.

will feature a wall of exposed

It's just a really, really
cosy room.

in small areas.

While the boys hope having extra
living pays off on auction day...

is level it, walk away.

They'll do this in a day

This is a brand-new build.

should be dead level.

We only discovered it
on Saturday night

when we were doing these borders...

Does he work to an RL on his job?

What you normally do in a build

is you'll have a line
around the whole house.

We call it an RL line.

So, when you're doing your subfloor
or whatever, you just measure down.

Right, OK,
there's my finished floor height.

I've got 10mm carpet.

Then you'll put your Yellow Tongue
or subfloor under that.

So, you can never make a mistake.

We're just trying to understand how
he's made this mistake, I guess,

'cause it's not a...
it's not a small one.

Problem is, there's a lot more.

We found a surface-mounted
sliding door

which is literally
falling off the wall.

We're thinking there's no
back-blocking at all.

you should have put a bit of dressed
timber on the face of this wall

and then fixed the track
to the dressed timber.

really got that on an angle.

all sorts of things.

an amazing house,

but we're just starting to discover
some really bad defects.

is either 15mm high or 15mm low.

we set this down lower?

We put the batons down as low
as we could, down to the concrete.

None of this is making sense.

So, it's not sort of obviously
a kick hazard, but otherwise...

But I'm spending four to five mil,
whatever they're going for,

on a house,

I don't want little
foot stutters everywhere.

You want zero...
You want zero threshold.

Zero.

So, we just gotta come up
with solutions.

We've shown Mick, the builder,
all these issues,

and as he said, there's no issues,
there's only solutions.

I don't like that saying.

Quite an easy fix.

Just gotta pull one...the first row
of tiles up and ramp it up,

which will create a threshold,
which is all still aboveboard.

So, it's gonna take quite a lot
to fix this house up.

It's actually quite worrying -

that we're finding these problems.

who's been keeping a watchful eye
on everyone's progress.

DAN: 3.5 weeks
till we sort of finish here.

I'm looking at the landscaping,
mate.

I'm getting worried.
What are your thoughts here?

DAVE: (PHONE) Mate, I'm as worried
as what you are at the moment, mate,

but, you know,
we have spoken to all of them

and said, "Listen, you gotta
cut your landscapes down."

But I don't know
if anyone's listened to me.

I don't think we got enough time.

Mate, there's not a hope in hell
they're gonna finish, mate.

I can tell you that right now.

Because as I said, mate,

even if they have
an army of 50 guys there...

They should have been thinking

where there's 3.5 weeks to go.

A lot of this isn't achievable.

From the beginning, everyone had
grand plans for their property.

OMAR: A beautiful gym.

Tennis court,
but not only just for tennis -

soccer, basketball.

Sunken lounge that walks on
to a path through.

Helipad.
Yeah.

We've got a dam -
someone could have a wedding there -

and then this could be,
like, the wedding house,

and maybe do a few, like, outhouses.

A horse stable. 40 or 50 trees.

MAN: We're doing a market garden.

In-ground trampoline

and a quarter basketball court.

SARAH-JANE: Lots of trees.

Vegie patch near the kitchen area.

Horse stables.

In-ground fire pit.

A shipping container pool is a pool
made out of a shipping container!

We have an acre of pinot going in.

Yeah!

Grand plans indeed,

but right now,
everyone's house is a mud pit.

We actually think
we're making good progress,

even though,
when you look out there,

it's just still big piles of dirt.

It's all gonna
start coming together.

Things aren't going that well

if you ask Ryan and Rachel's
landscaper, Matt.

We haven't...
taken anything off just yet,

but by the end of this week,

we will have to have a sit-down
and go over our plans and whatnot,

and, yeah, I guess
make some hard decisions.

House Two's landscape plans include
a shipping container-style pool,

a timber deck for al fresco dining,

and the star of the show -

their 20-grand
Suncorp Game Changer vineyard.

I met with Tom,

the actual guy that's gonna build
our Game Changer vineyard.

I'm looking forward to seeing
where the vineyard's going.

Oh, no, this is our most excited
part of the project, to be honest.

We really wanna try and nail...

We walked around the site
with him and Matty,

and basically nutted out
where it's all going.

North-south.

Which will look nice
from the house too.

And it all comes down
to the dollar factor, of course.

You know, it's crunch time
on the landscaping.

You have to be concerned
about your budget,

and you have to be concerned
about the time.

It's hard to try and work out,

"OK, boys, get in there
and get things done,

"but also don't spend any money."

In House Three,

Ankur and Sharon's landscaping
consists of...

For the first time ever
in The Block,

we've been allowed to start
landscaping from the start,

which is awesome,

but then we don't really know
what the budget for landscaping is.

House Three's landscaping wish list

includes a plunge pool, a vineyard,

an olive grove, a basketball court,
an in-ground trampoline,

and their Game Changer market garden.

Our landscapers have been asking
for mater...

..they can't actually start
certain things

until payment's made
for materials that they need,

and obviously we have no money.

So, we are probably gonna end up

with that one winning tree out
the back of my house, currently.

towards their landscaping goals

your landscaping."

So, we've been paying our landscaper
a lump sum each week.

House Four's wish list
includes a pool,

a half-court basketball court,

a vegie garden, an orchard,

and 45 trees will be planted
along the driveway and fence line,

but with all the mud,

it's hard to see what progress
has actually been made.

So, Dan's approached landscaper Inge
for an update.

How do you think you're going here?

I think I'm fine.
You do?

Yeah. I think I'm fine.
You think it's still achievable?

I think we will have to revise quite
a number of elements of the design.

The only thing that I'm actually
seriously worried about

is the weather side of things.

I definitely think we'll finish.

Inge's been going for five weeks.

I don't see how these guys are gonna
have a change in three weeks.

that even included a helipad.

for our sauna and gym.

and a par three golf hole.

We wish we started earlier,

but I reckon,
with Christian Jenkins on our side,

we'll definitely get it done.

But as usual, it's House One
that's ahead of the pack.

and I'll be honest -

we're gonna finish The Block
in under four weeks -

this is the only house I think
is gonna actually finish proper,

because you look
at the landscaping -

they've achieved so much already.

We got the fire pit wall
going in here.

We got the little walkway
with pavers going down.

In the background, the basketball
court's gonna be laid today,

and then they've got all
rock retainers at the back done.

These guys are miles ahead
of everyone else.

As well as the basketball court,

Tom and Sarah-Jane are also adding
a vegie garden, a pool,

are still worried about budget.

SARAH-JANE: We're nowhere near
as bad as other people.

Like, we've been
really, really blessed.

I've still got, like, some money
in the landscaping account.

That's not empty either.
I've got some savings in there.

having issues with budgets?

I've done the maths myself,

and this isn't from them telling me,

because everyone is sometimes a bit
coy about their...

They'll be like,
"Oh, yeah, we're in the red.

And I'm, like, to myself...
I don't know about that,

because me and Tom
are getting close,

really close, on the borderline,

and we've won over $70,000.

Some people would have to be

There's two things at play here.

We're running out of time,
