so it is a little bit disappointing,

at what a ten room looks like.

I didn't understand,
even when we saw this before,

why the fire is going
towards the door.

You have to sit in front of the door
to achieve it

or in a walkway, like,
to actually get warm.

We just thought maybe the fireplace
was in a strange, strange place.

As you walk into the door...

..it's facing right to you but it's
just coming through the door

and then there's a walk-in
and there's the bed,

so we thought maybe it would've been
better served

just curved around a little bit.

I didn't want to feel like this.

I wanted to feel like,
"Yep, of course they should've won.

a ten."

So, to get a ten,
this is what we should be doing.

But I don't feel the wow.

scored third place

for their contemporary take
on country.

DARREN: This, as a neutral palette,

that is all based on wood, stone,
natural elements,

it feels like country

without having to have the green
from outside inside.

Every element in here,
two thumbs up.

OZ: Very cosy.

It feels like...not minimal, but it
feels like, yeah, country chic.

House two was actually
my favourite room.

Yeah.

I love their, like, modern take
on this style.

Like, they put all country in
but they've definitely got...

It's kind of our vibe.

Like, if we were gonna buy a house,
we would go for that sort of style.

Yeah, it's contemporary.

SARAH-JANE: This is a really,
really, really, really lovely room.

TOM: Yeah, beautiful room.
Loved it.

I thought they did come second.

House four's tradie couple
Jenny and Dylan came in fourth,

with a spectacular walk-in wardrobe,

but it was their master
that let it down.

NEALE: It feels like all the finesse
has actually gone into the walk-in.

That's where the impact is.
I mean, this is nice.

It's a nice bedroom. It's elegant.

But it's not super special

and it doesn't really live up to the
expectations of either the ensuite

or the walk-in robe.

And she's got the chandeliers.

I loved the walk-in robe.

It was just very grand and it, like,

and you've got such a big entrance
into your walk-in robe,

but then you're here,
you kind of feel like

you're just, like, tucked in.

I like this way better
than Sharon and Anks'.

and, well, we'll see with the boys.

The boys, Omar and Oz, came last

because the judges felt their study
nook crowded their master bedroom,

with Darren taking particular offence
to the shelving.

not looking at those bookshelves...

..frankly, because those 15-cent
brackets and the $1 shelves

are just cheap.

That shelving, they're right.
That looks cheap as.

Like, it's not even
all sitting properly

and no-one's gonna walk in here
and like that.

Maybe they should've got a few less
books, but that's about it, really.

I didn't even notice

that the shelves were, like,

It's hard when contestants get
harsh feedback

because I really don't think
at any time

it's worthy of
that sort of harsh criticism

because they're not bad.

The problem is, everybody's
executing such a high level

that anything that's a little bit
off is considered not great.

SCOTT: Today marks a big milestone
for The Block: Tree Change.

We're moving from the original houses
into the brand-new pavilions,

which Truecore Steel has been busy
building over the past month.

This is our new flooring
for our shed, Oms.

The pavilions will house
the living areas,

but first up this week
is the guest bedroom and bathroom.

Yeah, so we're off into the new part
of the house...

new extension, which is a curveball.

In the new part,
we're on a fresh slab.

We've got Truecore steel frames
that we're working with,

so it's completely new to me
'cause I've never worked with them.

You want your bed here

'cause you're gonna be looking out
straight to that big red rock.

But there's one team still working
in the original building.

In house three, all of Sharon
and Ankur's five bedrooms

are in the old section

and Sharon's keen to turn that point
of difference into an advantage

by creating a second master bedroom.

To free up enough space
for the second master suite,

they'll need to swap the study
for an ensuite.

I actually had the idea initially
because it was...

It's such a great big house

and so you can afford
to create separate wings,

as you might say, in these houses...
there's enough guest bedrooms.

And I think someone
who's buying a house like this

would want a section where they
could have their parents,

guests in a separate space.

and this is the best spot to do that

Where we get stuck is having done
so many bathrooms previously,

we tend to run with,
you know, quite generic layouts

and something that we're realising

is that you cannot be generic
on The Block.

As per the architect's plans,
in the new extensions,

some of the bathrooms the Blockheads
are designing this week

feature a separate toilet.

Separate toilet.

Walk into the bathroom,
shower's gotta go here off this wall

and then just do a vanity here.

So, no bath?
No.

I would love to get a bath in here
if we can.

If you can have a bath in here,

that gives these two bedrooms
the opportunity for a bath.

Bub, I don't think we can fit
a bath.

You want a separate toilet, do you?

I mean, it's just written
in the plans, but...

everyone has the monumental task

of completing a bedroom
and a bathroom

but house three are still working
in the old house,

which means they have a lot of demo
to do before they can get started.

And builder Liam has arrived
for the day

to find the demo and clearing

he thought Sharon and Ankur
were finishing off overnight

hasn't been done.

Yeah, I think there might be times

where there is
a bit of a miscommunication

regarding what work
they want us to do after hours

and then after hours, potentially,

we're either completely wrecked
by the day

or we've got a dinner
and then that work doesn't get done

and then the next morning it can
cause a little bit of an issue.

It's passive, though.

I think it is really important
for mental health

to be able to process things
properly,

but it does hurt my feelings.

Our own builders think
we're not doing enough

with demolishing or whatever.

Like, we're behind in demo.

But I am a female. I can't pick up
as much as those guys.

Neither can I.

We're not trades.
It just (BLEEP) pisses me off.

Now that we're working
in the new pavilions,

we're going to need
some new flooring.

You could do it the old way
and use timber battens,

but we're going with the fast, easy,
effective way by using screed,

a sand cement-based mixture.

It's so fast because it's created
on site in large quantities.

Well, I've only ever used it
in bathrooms

but this time we have to raise
our whole extension slab up,

finish 100mm above the slab.

And for all those screed enthusiasts
out there, here's some more detail.

Nigel, here's Screed Pro's
computer on the back of the truck.

Talk me through how it works.

This is where all the magic happens,
our artificial intelligence system.

In the truck, in the trailer,
we've got our raw components.

We plug in here our recipe

for the particular screed
that we're gonna pump

and it'll control,
through the volumetric system,

how we mix the right amount of sand
with the right amount of cement

to feed out the back
to then be pumped into the site.

House two's seasoned renovators
Rachel and Ryan

have deleted the powder room
to allow for a spacious bathroom,

with room for a bath and shower.

But after Neale called
their bathroom...

Bland.

..Rachel's determined to inject
some personality into this one.
