but when I ran out of money, he stopped

I made a phone call.

Went to a meeting, and suddenly I had
this whole organization that was willing

to help me. I mean, they paid for good
private investigators. They paid for

Mr. Angeletti.

They're the reason that I found my
daughter.

What steps, if any, have you taken in
anticipation of being awarded the

Well, I enrolled myself in a substance
abuse program and got myself straight.

That's the first thing.

Then I got a job, I got a decent place
to live, and I made arrangements with my

mother to take care of my daughter while
I'm at work.

relationship with Brian Connolly?

We were together about six months.

But I thought about what my life would

what was best for my kid.

parents who have lost their children or

effect of such loss.

Most children who have been adopted
spend their lives trying to puzzle out

identity in a way that other people
can't understand.

No matter how much their adoptive
parents love them, these children grow

feeling like a part of themselves is
missing.

Adopted children live with a sense of
having been abandoned by their parents.

It's a tremendous burden to carry.

And how do these children respond?

Objection, excessively broad,
excessively vague.

Adopted children can respond in any
number of ways. Some are more effective

others. But the range of response
includes behavior that is quite

whether it be eating disorders or drug
abuse or criminality.

The healthiest solution for an adopted
child is to seek out his or her birth

parent and establish a relationship with

not to be taken from its adoptive

If a birth parent stands ready, willing
