Our teamwork and communication
was great on the last challenge.

Initially coming here,
I wasn't sure what to expect

from the people I'd be placed
on a team with.

But for Dirty Hands
to just welcome me

with open arms for who I am,

that means the world;
I never had that.

So win or lose, I'm walking away

with some new family members.

Out of this whole thing,
the fact that, like,

I met these awesome people,
all of you guys,

and you guys
just love me regardless,

that means more than money,
you know?

When I was younger, um,
I was always just friends

-with my sister's friends.
-JEROME: Yeah, yeah...

You know, I never really,
truly had my own,

and I always kind of
felt like, you know,

like, a loner, I guess.

I wish everybody could find

I-I don't want

but I wish my nephew Nigel
could have met you guys.

My nephew Nigel
was 14 years old.

He was a geeky, lovable,

kind, compassionate kid.

He would do anything for anyone.

And what we didn't know was
he was being bullied at school.

I mean, brutally picked on.

And, uh, one day, a couple
weeks after Thanksgiving,

he took his own life...

-QUINCEY: Oh, no.
-...one evening.

So, Christine saying
she didn't have any friends

kind of hit on me, 'cause
he'd be her age right now.

There's no room for bullying
in anybody's life.

One of the cool things
about our team

is we haven't just shared ups,
you know, and positive things,

we've shared some of our--

the darkest times in our lives
with each other.

to support each other.

So, Jerry's family has
been working in the business

of resealing tarmac
for 30 years,

and he's been out
working with his dad

since he was 13 years old.

Jerry, thank you for letting us
come out to your jobsite today.

-Thank you.
-Your job today

is to reseal a section
of this car park

for Jerry and his team.

As you can see,
there are two boxed-out areas

that you need to reseal.

Each section is 200 feet long
and 80 feet wide.

There are four parts
to this job:

removing cars using a tow truck,

cleaning the surface
using blowers and brooms,

filling in the cracks marked
with chalk using a melter,

and finally, covering
everything up with sealant.

And you want to use
the squeegees back here,

to spread out the sealant,
get a nice, even finish.

It's completely up to you

how you divide up the work,

but before you start
spreading out sealant,

make sure there's no cars
in the way,

that the surface
you're pouring on has no debris,

and that the cracks are filled
in before you cover them up.

-Nice.
-You also want to get

as you complete
each quarter section.

First team to reseal
their surface

will win this team challenge.

my skills as alignment,

and you're gonna be doing it
the old-fashioned way.

for those people
who have disabilities.

When the work whistle blows,

you will run down
to these wagons, grab the tae

to mark the lines, blue and
white paint, and hammer drill.

What do you need those for?
Well, the ADAs

have car stops,
so you'll be drilling holes

and hammering in rebar
to hold them in place.

Your work site must be
swept clean.

When you cross the finish line
with all your equipment,

you'll have completed the job.

This is about precision.

It's about
getting your lines straight.

It's about working efficiently.

I attack.

These challenges
are not just fast.

keep calm mentally.

Tak will be the first
to get his car stop in place.

Lia, leaning into that drill.
Beautiful technique.

HANGER:
I guarantee Lia's done this.

(chuckling) She's done
a little bit of everything, man.

QUINCEY:
I pull out my drill,
and then bam!

My drill bit comes out
of my drill.

It's stuck in there. I only got
this, only got about two inches

of drill bit to work with.
Try to get it out.

I tried to get it back on the
drill, and it keeps slipping up.

KEOGHAN:
Something not tightening there?

-QUINCEY: I'm like, "Oh, gosh."
-KEOGHAN: Uh-oh.

-Keeps missing.
-Got to rightey tight.

Drill bit never got tightened.
This is where

the pressure really
starts to show.

(drill whirring)

-Elizabeth!
-Takes skills

-to get that.
-Skill and strength.

ELIZABETH:
It doesn't make sense

to go back and forth
between painting

and other tasks,
so, if I install the car stops,

and I sweep the area clean,
I'm ready to paint.

KEOGHAN:
Good idea to be sweeping up
before you move on.

Mike has obviously
skipped that step,

and he's really struggling
with that tape.

It's not going to stick with
all that dust on the ground.

MIKE:
I'm, you know,

fumbling around with that tape.

KELSY:
Come on, Mike.

What is he doing?

MIKE:
Man, this is...

this is gonna be tough now

because I just made it toughr
on myself. I'm like,

"Mike, you should have just
cleaned this up."

KEOGHAN:
Elizabeth has both
her car stops in place

and a lot of her painting.

Jerome is painting now.
He's decided to do his painting

before he does his car stops.
That's going to allow time

for the paint to dry. Good move.

LIA:
My strategy is to start
with the blue paint

for the ADA symbols.

Give that time to dry

before I can put
some white paint on it

for the symbol itself.

So I want
to jump on that first.

(humming)

I was just trying to kind of

sing to myself a little bit
as I went along...

(humming)

...to make it less of
a competition and more of jut

doing a task that...
that I'm comfortable with.

Oh, don't spill it, girl.
Don't spill it.

If I'm comfortable

with what I'm doing,
it'll move along.

KEOGHAN:
Wow. Elizabeth

already moving forward
with her white lines,

leaving her blue spots to dry.

Jerome's following
in her footsteps,

using the same strategy,

taping up those lines
ready for painting.

That's the most time-consuming
part of this job.

JEROME:
Back was sore,

your-your core.
My knees got bust up.

The pavement was hot, so,

who can tape up
the parking lot the fastest?

That was the win-or-lose
situation right there.

KEOGHAN:
Elizabeth flying today.

-Look at that masking technique.
-Yeah.

You can't go any faster
than that, seriously.

ELIZABETH:
The technique I was using
was a tai chi technique.

The master level, you are able
to stay down in a very, very low

position
and move along the ground,

and I've been practicing
this technique

for the last year and a half.

KEOGHAN:
Elizabeth and Jerome
have a slight lead,

but Lia, Tak, Mike, and Quincey

starting to mask up their lines,
so,

we still have a race
on our hands.

JERRY:
Everybody's working very
efficient and working hard.

Yeah, very smart. Anybody
you'd like on your crew?

-All of 'em, actually. Yeah.
-You'd like 'em all?

You can cook one steak
medium rare on this road. Yow!

-I'm sure that asphalt's hot.
-Oh, heck, yeah.

I was feeling for them, but I
was glad that I wasn't doing it.

KEOGHAN:
Sweat is pouring off Mike.

This is hot work
out here in the sun, Jerry.

I don't know how
you do it every day.

-Yes.
-Hot work.

LIA:
Hope this is water-based paint

-'cause I'm sweating in it.
-(laughter)

MIKE:
I do have a little experience
with painting,

but my wife would say otherwise
because

I'm not very good at it.
(laughs)

Oh, man.

I stood on it,
painted inside, and

it was still bleeding out.
I couldn't get it to be tight.

KEOGHAN:
Time is ticking away.

You're gonna have
to do some tidying up.

So I have to go back
and do that one then?

-Yeah, that's not gonna pass.
-TAK: Oh, man.

KEOGHAN:
Mike and Quincey still
have a lot

of taping and painting left.
Elizabeth, on the other hand,

is working
on her second stencil.

The only thing she's got
to do is stencil the blue.

KEOGHAN:
And unlike Lia and Jerome,
Elizabeth has

really kept her workspace
very clean.

Roll that dolly
back over the line, and...

Elizabeth gets the job done!

Maybe people

could have thought before

that I wasn't really a threa,
but now,

I think they, maybe,
are starting to realize

that they do need to be

concerned about me.

MIKE:
I grabbed the black paint,

and just ran as fast as I could

to just get
those touch-up spots.

MIKE:

KEOGHAN:

Lia gets the job done!

Lia is the biggest sleeper
in-in this contest.

KALIMBA:
Tak, speed it up, bud.

TAK:
As I'm working, I just hear

people getting done, you know?

KEOGHAN:
Jerome gets the job done!

battling it out.

This is where
you've got to keep your cool.

I'm really nervous
when I see Mike fall behind.

and this is probably the slowest

my stomach starts turning.

KELSY:

desperate to stay out

final touch-ups and pack up

an intense challenge.

I mean, when he says

a huge relief to me.

First time for everything,
so I'm ready.

I just got to rest up

so I can compete
in the overtime.

Me and Quincey is brothers, but

when we go in there, I mean,
we're gonna compete hard.

And Mike literally just
pipped you at the line there.

QUINCEY:
That little bit of time,
you know, it took me

to get the stencil and
get across the threshold there.

So a few seconds just cost me.

Ultimately, ended me up again,
for the third time, in overtime.

your mind there, at the end?

It hurt a lot for me.

Sometimes it sucks
to be six-four and 240, so...

In Hawaii, our cost of living
is real expensive over there.

We're a small island.

We don't have
that much opportunities,

but if I can be up here

showing, you know, just me,
a small person from the...

one of the smallest towns,

you know, making it this far,
it's-it's like

an honor for me
to represent Hawaii.

This is a chance
to stay in contention

for the
Tough As Nails title.

-There is a lot at stake.

KEOGHAN: You have
four competitors sitting

on a truck who are going through

to the final five,
and there's only one spot left.

So you are looking at two
identical VIP parking areas.

When this place gets packed,

VIP parking is
what everybody wants.

There are 25 parking spots
in the two lots.

There are 21 cars in each lot.

That means
there are four empty spaces.

When the work whistle blows,
run over to the parked cars

and figure out which car
you want to move first.

Make note of the number
on the dashboard,

then run to your valet stand,
pick up the key,

which has the corresponding
number attached to it.

You can only grab one key
at a time, so choose carefully.

Your job-- it's pretty simple.

Just to get one
of those Ford F-150s

and park it into one
of these spots right here.

That's it.
Think of this challenge

as a giant slide puzzle.
If you do it,

you will stay in contention
for the Tough As Nails title.

If you finish last today,

KEOGHAN:

I have no experience in vale.

I know how to drive.

-KELSY: You got it, Quince.
-QUINCEY: Biggest thing

I need to be worried about
for myself is, uh, making sure

that I come in
with a clear heart, clear mind,

and you know, focus.

KEOGHAN:
Quincey's wipers are going on.

-KELSY: Oh, Tak's already out.
-KALIMBA: Let's go, Tak.

TAK:
It felt great getting that lead.

I'm hard to beat because,

once I get the rhythm, I'm on.

KEOGHAN:
Quincey's trying
to get the car started.

HANGER:
Let's go, Quincey.

KEOGHAN:
Tak picks up
his second set of keys.

Quincey struggling
to move his first car.

KELSY:
What's happening?

Does he have the wrong key?

-Oh, Tak's already out.
-KALIMBA: Let's go, Tak.

-(beeping)
-KEOGHAN: Quincey's trying

-to get the car started.
-HANGER: Let's go, Quincey.

KEOGHAN:
Tak out to an early lead.

Quincey hasn't moved a car yet.

First person to figure out this
giant parking-lot slide puzzle

will be in the final four.

QUINCEY:
There's always something

that's gonna trip you up,
something

that's gonna challenge you.
The key is,

you don't quit.

KEOGHAN:
Now he's got it going.

He's backing up very slowly.

CHRISTINE:
I don't know why
he took so long.

HANGER:
Let's go, Quincey.

-LIA: That's it, Tak.
-JEROME: Come on, boy.

-Let's go, Quincey.
-QUINCEY: You want to
make as less trips

as possible
when you're getting the keys.

So when I run back
to take that key back,

instead of me running back

to the parking lot
and look at the number,

I already had that number

in my head, so I could just

put this key down
and grab this one

and go back and move the car,
and that was my strategy

for the remainder
of the challenge.

Ah.

-Oh.
-QUINCEY: Bam!

-Twisted my ankle.
-CHRISTINE: Come on, Quince.

QUINCEY:
But I keep going
because Tak is fast.

He's not slowing down.

KEOGHAN:
Tak has moved four cars.

Now he has an empty slot
in one of his rows,

and he can move one of the cars
out of the row

that's blocking his F-150,

which he needs to park out front
to get the job done.

How do you start the car?
Oh, brah.

It's a push-to-start,
but the button

is not
by the steering wheel.

KEOGHAN:
And Quincey has tied it up.

There's no button here.

-LIA: Keep it moving.
-KELSY: You got it.

-(engine starts)
-Aah!

Took some time
to figure it out, but,

yeah, I got it eventually.

KEOGHAN: Quincey,
a slight lead ahead of Tak.

-LIA: Hustle, hustle.
-HANGER: Let's go, Tak.

Tak is checking the number.

He realizes

-that he's got the wrong car.

When I got there, it was
the wrong number key, and

-I had to run back.

TAK:
I don't know where Quincey i.

KEOGHAN:
Quincey moving his sixth car.

While Tak has made a mistake,

and that's cost him
an extra run.

I just know
I got to hurry up

because I made
a couple mistakes already.

-ELIZABETH: Stay calm.
-KEOGHAN: Quincey
with a slight lead.

KELSY:
Good job, Quincey!

KEOGHAN:

KELSY:

I think Tak's speed is
an advantage, but I also thik

that Quincey's a beast,
and moving cars

is just something that I'm sure
he's done a lot.

HANGER:

KEOGHAN:

He's got to make the turn.

-(cheering)

It feels great.

You know, I'm hungry,

and I'm with a bunch
of competitors
