KEOGHAN: And in the individual competition...

KEOGHAN: Speed and efficiency, key factors to this job.

-ELIZABETH: My hip is out. -KEOGHAN: Elizabeth's down.

KELSY: Everybody, give it your all.

KEOGHAN: ...Lia picked her way to victory.

KEOGHAN: And Lia gets the win!

While two of her Dirty Hands teammates

had to battle it out in a harrowing overtime.

This is gonna be close.

Christine fell behind and punched out.

Tonight, with Dirty Hands just one win away from being

overall team champions, it's do or die for Savage Crew.

Both teams are neck and neck.

-SARAH: Eight is not there. -That's not right!

KEOGHAN: In the individual competition...

Each of you is going to set up a DJ station.

...it's a mash-up,

as the remaining seven are left spinning.

You do not want to get cut from the individual competition.

Who can turn in a win and avoid punching out?

LIA: All right, guys, this is the day.

One more win. We need one more win.

Today is the day where we give it absolutely everything.

JEROME: Everything.

Dirty Hands is up 4-2.

We need to win one more challenge

to win that $60,000 cash bonus prize.

We're absolutely determined

to get that fifth Badge of Honor.

We're just going in guns blazing,

all of our heart, all of our soul.

QUINCEY: It's a big deal for me. Y'all heard the story

about my high school career and all,

and how I wasn't able to help my team advance.

And, you know, I-I get-- I get another shot.

-Mm. -You know what I mean? So...

We're Quincey's football team.

This is where I'll get my redemption, right here today.

-Yeah. -KALIMBA: I-I'm a fullback.

What are you, Jerome? A quarterback?

KELSY: It's four to two,

and it's all or none right now.

ELIZABETH: Yeah, because I think what caused the issue

last challenge, we got really spread out.

HANGER: You're right, our strength

is our sticking together as one.

Absolutely.

Savage Crew will come together today.

We have to.

I think my team has their heads in the game

coming into this challenge

because our backs are against the wall.

We need to win the next three team competitions.

So we're coming out fighting.

-Good morning, Phil! -KEOGHAN: Good morning.

If you look up ahead, you will see the Wiltern.

-LIA: Wow. -MIKE: Oh, man.

KELSY: Holy cow.

KEOGHAN: Built back in 1931,

-beautiful art deco building. -TAK: Wow.

KELSY: That's Hollywood.

Holy cow, look at these doors.

KEOGHAN: Have a look at this.

KELSY: Wow, look at that ceiling.

ALFIE: Yeah, this is nuts, man.

JEROME: Whoa, this architecture is crazy, bro.

-Check that out. -Whoa.

CONTESTANTS: Wow.

KEOGHAN: Think of any major performer

in the last 90 years,

and chances are they've performed on this stage.

Before any performer can get up on that stage,

there's a lot of hard work that has to take place.

The people that do that work are commonly referred to as roadies.

Let's raise that fire curtain.

And guess who's waiting for you.

Tim and Oz, both production riggers.

They are the ones that do all the hard work

setting up the shows,

and they're gonna be watching your work.

Did you ever think you'd be performing at the Wiltern?

-No. -(laughter)

KEOGHAN: Your job today

is you are going to set up a lighting grid.

Just like you would see at a rock concert.

KALIMBA: I have some experience working this field.

My dad's a reggae musician.

I have helped doing

the miking for the sound,

and mainly, picking up at the end of the night

while they all sat at the bar.

KEOGHAN: There are two trucks out back

filled with steel truss, tools

and all the lights and cables you need.

Step one is to build a structure using trusses,

like the ones that you see out on the stage there.

Step two, you will then have to put the lights

in the correct positions according to this plan.

-We got this. -And the man

who will be making sure your lights

are correctly placed on the truss,

our lighting director Sean.

SEAN: My role is to confirm

that you have hung the lights in the right spot

and that they come on in the right sequence.

And that's how the challenge ends today.

MIKE: I've been feeling like

I got a lot of weight on my shoulders.

I really haven't slept much.

You know, 'cause I picked the people

to be on Savage Crew, and I feel

like I'm responsible.

And then, hearing everybody's story,

and especially Sarah, you know?

Hearing the story about her grandfather

and what she wants to do for her nieces and nephews.

She gives me that drive, too.

KEOGHAN: Take a moment to figure out

who's gonna be the crew boss.

Sarah's good with everything that we need to keep organized.

KELSY: We have so much trust in Sarah.

She has great skills at planning.

You guys can do the wiring because y'all are both

familiar with circuits.

Telling people where they should go

and how to be as productive as possible.

-It's all or none, right here. -MIKE: Mm-hmm.

So I think Christine should be the crew boss.

-We fall in place when you're crew boss. -KALIMBA: Yeah, yeah,

-let's just do that. -Okay, that's fine. -LIA: We do.

JEROME: We're all, like, super excited,

like, we're like, "Finish this already."

We get that 60 grand,

we could make $72,000 today.

ALFIE: Communication, communication, communication

makes the team work,

and we don't have a choice but to win today.

LIA: Our game plan is to get out to the truck

as fast as we can.

There's a tool bag,

...and a cart full of cables that we need

for the power to the lights.

JEROME: Go, go, go.

KEOGHAN: Everybody, double-check your plans.

We need the ten-foot over there.

LIA: Make sure they're turned right. These are not right.

JEROME: They're wrong now, this is wrong.

-SARAH: Remember, washer, one on each side. -HANGER: Yes.

-Yes. -Washer, one on each side.

KEOGHAN: Kelsy already starting to bolt the truss together.

Attention to detail is crucial.

-JEROME: Good job. You got it? -TAK: Yeah.

KEOGHAN: You have four different lengths of trusses to assemble:

four, six, eight and ten-feet sections.

You connect any of them in the wrong place,

you're gonna have to go back and fix it.

If ever there was a day to get it right, it's today.

CHRISTINE: That does not look like six feet. Double-check.

I do have some experience with trusses.

You know, in ironwork,

we use those between floors of a building...

-Eight-foot... -Eight-foot here.

...to link the exterior iron together.

Kelsy, that's not right.

KELSY: What do you mean? It's a triangle.

-This is not right. -SARAH: Alfie!

-Double-check prints. -ALFIE: I got an eight

and I got a six, perfect.

SARAH: We have Alfie,

superintendent in his real life,

who is really great with paying attention to detail.

So we're trusting him

to place everything correctly where it needs to go.

I need three sixes in the middle. I got them.

KEOGHAN: It's neck and neck,

but have both teams got their trusses together correctly?

CHRISTINE: This needs tightening.

-This middle? -Right there.

SARAH: Tighten, tighten, tighten.

-KEOGHAN: They are flying through this, Tim. -Yeah.

KEOGHAN: Both teams with all 12 pieces of truss in place.

Now tightening all 68 bolts.

-ALFIE: We're tight, we're tight. -SARAH: All right, let's go.

-Socket, socket, socket. -Jerome, Jerome.

-That was it. -Check! Check!

Double-check, double-check.

KEOGHAN: Check.

Savage Crew looking for an inspection,

so they can lift their truss and start rigging their lights.

Dirty Hands still trying to finish up

to get their check done.

TIM: No.

KEOGHAN: Check no good

for Savage Crew, they've got to fix it.

SARAH: It's so nerve-racking, we need this win.

I think all of us kind of stopped breathing

for a minute, and we're just wondering

if we're able to correct that mistake quicker

than Dirty Hands gets the lead on us.

-All the way, all the way. -Okay, okay.

-OZ: You guys ready? -Yeah.

KEOGHAN: Now Dirty Hands looking for a check.

This is a crucial moment.

JEROME: Good?

No.

KEOGHAN: Oz says it's not correct.

-Check your plans. -JEROME: Check-check that middle.

ELIZABETH: We're a foot off.

HANGER: Go, go, go, go, go.

KEOGHAN: Savage Crew have figured out

that their center truss is not square.

ALFIE: Right there.

Elizabeth gets the measuring tape,

it's six, this one's almost seven.

She's like, "We got to knock it back a foot."

So push it back, tighten it back up,

so we can request an inspection once again.

-HANGER: You got to go this way. There you go. -QUINCEY: Look.

-They're not in the triangle form. -TAK: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

-That one, that one. -KALIMBA: Undo it, undo it...

TAK: Come to find out one was upside down.

So we had to take that apart, flip it right side up,

and then reconnect it.

CHRISTINE: Make sure they're all going the same way.

-KALIMBA: It looks-- it's the right way. -HANGER: Okay, good.

-We're good. We're good on that. -KELSY: We're good. Check.

HANGER: We're good, we're good, we're good.

Check.

-JEROME: Go, go, go, go. -OZ: You ready?

-CHRISTINE: Yes. -JEROME: Ready.

KEOGHAN: Both teams looking for a check

at the same time.

OZ: Acceptable.

I'm just checking one more bolt, guys.

-HANGER: Good? -How we looking, Tim?

-TIM: They're all good. -The check is good for Savage Crew.

Dirty Hands' truss is good.

KEOGHAN: Closely followed by Dirty Hands,

who complete their first step.

Trusses going to working height now

so they can get their lights on.

ALFIE: Stay to your right, stay to your right.

HANGER: Okay, okay.

KEOGHAN: 24 lights need to go on these trusses.

Look where five is on there and place it.

Kelsy, myself and Hanger

start setting up

where the lights need to go

while Elizabeth

and Electro Man Mike are going to be taking care

of wiring the cables and getting them set up.

KEOGHAN: There are three different types of lights that need to go

onto the truss.

The exact positions are on the lighting plot.

14, 15, 16, 14, all this corner.

I just start calling out some numbers

and a specific corner just to get us started.

-What else we looking for? -CHRISTINE: Number 14.

It's gonna be a longer light like one of these.

MIKE: I work with wires.

If anything's in the wrong place,

it's not gonna turn on, or it's gonna blow up in your face.

So I just take my time and be precise

with where these wires need to go.

SARAH: Pay attention to where you're placing it, guys. Pay attention.

The front row all needs to flip.

It's facing the wrong way.

-Flip where? -Number seven, number two

and number one. Turn them.

Dirty Hands realizing that they've got

lights that are facing the wrong way.

-ELIZABETH: I've already got it. I've already got it. -What's that one, Kelsy?

I've already got it. It's hooked up all the way.

-Worry about a different one. -SARAH: Kelsy, wrong number.

-Eight. -SARAH: Eight is wrong.

-Eight is wrong. -It's right here.

-That's seven. Where you're at is seven. -It's not right!

-This is not right. -ELIZABETH: Just calm down.

What number is yours?

-ELIZABETH: It's eight. Right here. I told you. -ALFIE: It's already plugged in.

-ELIZABETH: I've got it right here. -That's wrong!

-Eight is not there. Elizabeth. -That's not right!

Look at the peg. It's not right.

You just unplugged it. I had it sitting here.

-I just plugged it in. Look. -This light is not where it's supposed to be!

-KELSY: This is not right! -ELIZABETH: Just calm down.

-I've got it right here. -KELSY: That's wrong!

Kelsy. Breathe.

KELSY: I was trying to address to Elizabeth

that the light was not in the right area.

-Is the light seven? -KELSY: Okay? Yeah.

-Cool. Is that one eight? -KELSY: Yes, that's right.

It was where it needed to be.

That was my mistake.

My emotions got the best of me, and I got a little loud.

Sarah, I got number two right here.

The beautiful thing about our team is that we're all leaders,

but you can only have so many lions in one den

before they start growling and biting.

-This is seven. -ALFIE: It's about $60,000.

(laughs)

an extension cord for five, and it goes back there.

The most difficult part of this challenge

is there's 24 different numbers,

so you got a lot of working parts.

Hanger rolling over like a stuntman.

Ready for a lighting check.

KEOGHAN: Lighting director is checking out the work

-for Dirty Hands. -SARAH: Check.

-Check. Check. -ALFIE: Check.

KEOGHAN: Savage Crew have asked for a check.

They have to wait until the lighting director's

finished Dirty Hands' check.

Not a good check on Dirty Hands.

KEOGHAN: Double-check your lighting plot.

Now Savage Crew getting their first lighting check.

you have to start figuring out

a mistake and are looking to correct it.

KEOGHAN: And now Savage Crew.

They've found a mistake they need to fix.

SARAH: Love y'all.

MIKE: Savage Crew really needed to kick it up a notch,

and all of us stuck together today

like we said we were gonna.

We definitely need to win two more challenges

to get that 60,000 that we came here for.

Sarah, what does it mean to you today

to be the crew boss and to lead your team

to a much-needed victory?

SARAH: From the minute I walked in, um,

the first person I thought of was my gramps.

And, uh,

he used to talk about back in the day

when he wasn't even allowed in places like this.

(sniffles) So, for me to be

the first in my family to be in something,

you know, so incredible, I wanted it bad.

To be here, to get this win.

And I love my team for this.

JEROME: Yeah, Sarah!

(chuckles softly)

SARAH: My gramps always wanted, you know, greatness for me,

and there were opportunities that he wasn't afforded.

Now that I have those opportunities,

I want to make the most of all of them.

We did it. We pulled one out. All we got to do is two more.

Sarah, you made your grandfather proud.

So, how did everybody sleep?

-My back actually feels really good today. -Good.

everybody's still in the game, you know?

-Nothing they can't recover from. -HANGER: Exactly.

Alfie, how many times do you tell your guys,

-"Safety, guys"? -ALFIE: Oh, yeah.

I'm gonna share with you since you asked.

I helped a buddy start a landscaping company.

So, these people wanted, like, six to eight trees taken out.

So I get my chain saw, and I start nudging it.

(imitates chain saw buzzing)

That branch was completely rotten on the inside,

so it just collapsed.

And, so, as soon as that 1,500-pound branch

hit the ladder, it just catapulted me out.

And that's all I remember.

Next thing you know, I wake up

four days later in a hospital bed.

I got tubes all in my arms.

I got sensors on my head and my chest.

They said that my left leg

was over my right shoulder next to my ear.

-ELIZABETH: Oh... -KELSY: Mm. -ALFIE: So, my spine shattered.

So, it could have severed your spinal cord

-and you'd be paralyzed. -Oh, yeah, well, that was...

that was the biggest fear that everybody had,

that I was gonna be paralyzed from the waist down.

Thank God that, for the reaction

of first responders, I'm here with you guys.

A-And, so, it was a tough time

in my life.

I wasn't giving up. I wasn't staying paralyzed.

That's-that's not my destiny. That's not who I was.

-That's crazy. You are a miracle, then. -KELSY: Wow.

And I had never crowd-surfed before.

I jumped out, like,

with my back towards the sky,

and midair,

I twisted over onto my back,

and they still caught me.

TAK: Auntie Lia,

she's a little firecracker.

I'm just amazed.

You'll see that you'll be working

with a lot of different parts.

And once everything

is done, you're gonna button it off

with a personalized banner.

Everything you need to get the job done

carrying the light stuff, 'cause I got to run.

KEOGHAN: Each one of those turntable cases

weighs about 40 pounds. 80 pounds up onto the stage.

-KALIMBA: Let's go, Quincey! -CHRISTINE: Good job!

-KEOGHAN: Look how much Mike is carrying at one time. -KELSY: Way to go, Mike!

-Way to go! -KALIMBA: Good job, Lia.

LIA: There's a lot of detail

to this challenge.

There's gonna be many trips.

One for equipment and two

for just back and forth to that DJ station

to make sure I have things set up properly.

KEOGHAN: Jerome's the first one to get his table up.

He's got a working surface.

-Good money. Good money. -Good job, Jerome.

KEOGHAN: Elizabeth carrying two speakers. That's 70 pounds.

Come on, Eliza-beast.

ELIZABETH: With my injury on the last individual,

I still needed to be careful.

It was better to take one extra trip

because I knew I could make it up on my install

because I've done car audio,

which is pretty complex.

-(panting) -KEOGHAN: Jerome, he was

the first one to get his table up.

My most feared competitor is my head.

I get into my head too much. See, if I can

pay attention to my tasks, I should be all right.

KEOGHAN: Mike is doing the electrical work first.

-Stay focused. -Good job.

KEOGHAN: A lineman, he's used

to working up high and plugging things in.

That's his living right there. Come on, Mike.

-KEOGHAN: Jerome has put his lights up. -Let's go.

KALIMBA: Good job, Lia.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Jerome running back out into the lobby.

DJ GRAVITY ONE: Jerome is going back

to take a look at things.

-He's made a mistake, right? -Yep.

JEROME: Wait a minute.

Oh, .... I was wrong already.

I have my lights hanging upside down.

Like, what am I doing, then?

KEOGHAN: Jerome changing

the position of his lights.

All his lights were down,

and now he's putting them into the upward position.

Competition got to my head.

-I'm rushing. -This is eating up time

-for Jerome. -Come on. -HANGER: Don't give up, Jerome.

CHRISTINE: Don't, don't get in your head.

JEROME: That was a major setback.

KALIMBA: Oh! Oh, no!

KEOGHAN: Jerome's lights were down.

He's correcting that and putting them

-in the upward position. -The little things.

JEROME: I was so frustrated.

Competition got into my head so quick.

I don't know. Maybe missing my home, missing my family.

-Whatever it is, it is. -HANGER: Don't give up, Jerome.

KEOGHAN: Do not underestimate

what DJ Gravity said as far as attention to detail.

You need to set up your station exactly like the example.

When you're ready for a check, drop your mic on the table.

KEOGHAN: Quincey's got some power flowing

as Lia puts her vinyl out on her turntables.

And Mike is powering ahead.

-KELSY: Good job! -KEOGHAN: But has he

got all the details right?

MIKE: I use wires every single day at work,

and I have to make sure everything is precise.

KEOGHAN: Lights are going on.

SARAH: Let's go, Mike, come on!

MIKE: So I feel confident. I feel good to get checked.

KEOGHAN: And Mike, the first

to drop the mic. Ready for inspection.

MIKE: I'm praying to God.

Mike, the first to get everything assembled,

but some of the details are not right.

LIA: Mike gets the...

I'm still in it, so I sprint to that DJ station

to make sure I have things set up properly.

Okay. Never have I done this.

Although I do have a turntable.

Arms to the left.

Cables to the left.

Got it.

MIKE: I'm freaking out. I'm like,

"What could it possibly be?"

So I study the station again

very intensely. I'm puzzled right now.

Everybody quietly working away.

Tak has his lights up. Speakers. Got his turntable.

TAK: I'm struggling really hard with wiring connections.

Getting frustrated. But, you know,

being a foreman at work,

I've learned that you cannot panic.

I know how to stay calm

and figure things out.

This is connected.

KEOGHAN: Alfie also has all his heavy equipment out.

Lights are on.

-Elizabeth's so calm. -The top.

Staying calm is really important,

because when I get frantic, I make mistakes.

And when you panic, you actually

stop your brain from functioning properly.

HANGER: Details. Details, guys. Details.

I've been there before, but I'm going up against Alfie.

And Alfie is a superintendent, he has

to pay close attention to detail.

I was about to lose my marbles.

But I'm not going to give up.

I represent Lamar, uh, South Carolina.

I want to let the kids in Lamar know that,

get out there and do things.

And I want to be a perfect example.

You can place the words anywhere on the marquee,

but pay careful attention

to the spacing between the words.

It's got to be precise.

All the letters you need to get the job done

are inside this case.

When the work whistle goes, you'll be using

one of these extendable arms.

These little pincers pick up the letters.

You grab your letters, you lift them up,

and you hook them up onto the marquee.

Same number of letters, same words.

Going head-to-head as fast as you can.

The first one to get it done

will be joining our other five to be in the final six.

If you finish last,

you'll be punching out.

-You ready to go to work? -Let's go, guys.

-(cheering, clamoring) -Let's do it!

ALFIE: It's all on the line right here,

and so now it gets real serious, you know, it's...

kind of cringing because he's a bit of a perfectionist.

QUINCEY: I've never used one of those tools before,

as a mechanic, but it's almost like my job

because it's tedious and you got to take your time.

-(groans) -Quincey is slow

and steady trying to get the word "Tough" spelled out.

-KELSY: You're doing good, Alfie! -KEOGHAN: Meanwhile,

Alfie's on his second line.

Look at your spaces, pay careful attention

to the distance between the words.

Ooh, this is going to be tough.

Alfie just threw all the letters up,

and he just is gonna see that they just

were not spaced correctly.

QUINCEY: I'm not looking at Alfie, but

and move them over.

KEOGHAN: Alfie has spotted one mistake

and he's moving it, but his "S" is coming down

and so is his "O."

All of a sudden two or three fall off the marquee.

Oh, and down comes the "N" for "Nails."

I'm hearing Alfie having trouble with his letters falling off.

You still have a chance, Quincey.

-Just keep it cool. -LIA: Keep it steady!

KEOGHAN: You can see even Quincey, as strong as he is,

-is quivering with that long line. -Give me an "O"!

-And he gets it. -Yes!

-There you go! -(cheering, clamoring)

Alfie, getting the "N" attached to the top line.

-Check. -Good!

KEOGHAN: No!

Alfie, I'm sorry to tell you, you still have

one detail that you need to deal with.
