And I can't wait for him to bring it.

Cyril has finished

right up there at the top the last several challenges,

and I will not underestimate him.

You better not underestimate anybody.

Down to the final four

feel like March Madness, you know?

You got to make it to the next round.

Like Sarah. She's very

humble and quiet, and she has

all these tricks up her sleeve.

She's an absolute monster.

She's like the silent assassin.

And all of us saw it, and she's doing this...

And then she's magically a roofer on the side.

Oh, whatever.

"And Sarah has finished the roof!"

I said, "Sarah, I'm onto you." -What?

-I never done no roof. Sarah, I'm onto you.

This moment-- if I had to compare it

to a highlight of my life,

I'd compare it to being back in high school

running at Nationals,

towing that line with all the best in the nation.

I'm fine going up against the best. All you can do is worry

about yourself and go all out.

Time to bring it.

I don't know where we are,

but I see a steel structure.

I hope we're working at height today.

As a lineman, I just like to climb.

Congratulations for making it

-into the final four. Thank you.

But you know what happens from here. The last two

to finish this challenge

will compete against each other in overtime,

and by the end of the day,

one of you will be punching out, and then we'll be down

to our final three.

This is the University of Iron, here in La Palma.

This is a training center

for Local 433 and 416 Ironworkers.

Takes four years of hard work

to become a journeyman. For good it's a dangerous job.

And today you're going to experience some of the training

that they do to become an ironworker.

Got some experience working with iron and steel.

I don't think anybody would say it's, like,

glorious or something like that. You got to go-- you got to work.

And today,

you are going to be working in pairs.

Sarah, since you won the last individual competition,

you get to pick the pairs.

When that work whistle blows,

you are going to putting six iron beams

into this structure.

A long support beam

and four smaller beams that connect to it.

The sixth and final beam you need to connect

is painted white. You're going to have to climb up there

to put it in and finish the job.

And, as is customary, on the very top

you will be planting a Christmas tree

and an American flag. It's called "topping out,"

and it says, "job done."

You'll be using truck cranes.

We have Bill inside the cabin there. Say good morning to Bill.

Morning, Bill. Morning, Bill!

-And we got Joe over here. Morning, Joe!

These guys know how to operate a crane,

but the only way they're going to know what to do

is with you signaling with your hands

to tell them where to put your beam.

I signal helicopters. I signal cranes.

You have an 8,000-pound load over your head.

There's no pressure greater than that.

Sarah, have you made a decision

on who you're going to pair up today

-in the final four? -I have.

You've got to think very carefully about this

because who you're paired up with

will be the person that you're competing against

in the final three if you win today,

or the person you'll be competing against

-in overtime if you lose. It's a tough choice.

They all bring great qualities.

I agree with you. I don't know what I would do.

Whoever I pick today,

I'm obviously taking with me tomorrow if we win.

And, right now, looking at Zeus,

Swifty and Scott, I'm not sure who's my best choice.

I've worked with these tools. I'm sure these guys have worked

with these tools before.

But a crane is very, I mean,

you've got to be very precise.

Your decision?

Uh, I work well with Scott.

I know Scott's used a crane.

It's going to be a tough challenge.

Both teams are going to give it.

So now, Zeus, you're going to be working with Swifty.

How do you guys feel about your chances up against these two?

-Man of Steel. Yep.

Uh, Swifty brings it every challenge,

and I'm stoked to be working with him.

Zeus is, uh,

the youngest still in the running.

So, uh, you know, he's got that youthfulness,

full of energy, and he's a strong young man.

Feel pretty good about that matchup.

Okay. Get your harnesses on, let's get to work.

Not thrilled to see a harness again.

Swifty says, "If you're always ready,

"you don't have to get ready.

You're just ready."

So I'm going to take Swifty's advice

and use it against him.

Bill, start your engine. Joe, please start your engine.

if you finish last,

you're going into overtime,

and you'll have to fight it out

to get into the final three.

Making sure that the cable is in the center

of the beam will keep it balanced.

Once that cable has pressure on it, the beam can't fall out.

It's kind of like a steel puzzle.

We've got to start with the big piece at the bottom

to put it across,

that way we can put the little pieces across.

Once we're done with the bottom,

we can move up top to put the last piece in.

Watch... All right?

Come on, Zeus!

Swifty and Zeus have their first beam up in the air.

Let's go!

Great crane operation.

Beams are in the air!

And that first beam,

it's got to go up and over this structure.

You got two crane operators

with steady, experienced hands, but you've got

to direct those beams into the structure, and that's not easy.

Clear. All right.

Now they're getting it to work.

Time to bolt this thing in.

Zeus lifting his beam up. He wants to reset this.

Using the bull pin now to line up his beams. He's got it.

Now he gets to work on the bolts.

They've got to tighten them up until we see

red on the thread. Red on the thread

-means it's tight enough. Sarah.

-Where do you need to go? I need to go down.

I'm good!

As soon as that first beam is into place,

we're going to both get

on bolting it together, and then we're going

take that cable off

and fly the crane out of there to get ready for the next beam

while Sarah stays in there and works on

-finishing bolting up the other beam. You got two!

-Grab that second one. Both pairs

putting their second beam in.

-This is tight. Oh!

-We need signals. Signals, Zeus! Yeah. Keep bringing it up.

He could come down. Swifty and Zeus

getting a little frustrated

'cause they realize that their crane hook

is way up above.

They forgot all about giving instructions

to the crane operator.

-He will not move unless they tell him. Hold that.

Come on, Zeus and Swifty. Let's go!

Swifty's waiting for that second beam.

They've got to be quick.

All right. There you go, guys. Come on, guys.

-Come on, guys!

Here comes the second beam now for Swifty and Zeus.

-Okay, watch your head, Swift. Down, down, down.

They've got to make up time.

Once you've got your spud wrench in there, it's ready to go.

The most time-consuming is actually

getting the nut off the bolt beforehand

and getting the nuts, bolts, and washers ready.

Once I got my two in, he's got his one in,

I finish off the last one, and we're ready to go for the next.

Scott signaling to get their third beam into place.

Zeus bringing his crane in.

-They're one beam behind. Come on.

Speed it up! Speed it up! Speed it up!

Watch your head, Sarah, coming in...

Whoa, that beam just took a hit.

They do need to get it under control.

Until it is, this could seriously

put Sarah and Scott behind.

We're in trouble, and I know that.

-We're losing time.

Scott is bumping his beam all over the place,

and it could give Zeus

and Swifty a chance to catch up again.

Come on!

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Watch your head, Sarah. Coming in...

Don't worry about that beam slipping out.

It's very secure with that choker cable,

but it does eat up a lot of time

when it's swinging all over the place like that,

and that could give Zeus and Swifty a chance to catch up.

Third beam's coming down,

and it's a little unbalanced,

but I got an eye on it. So I know where it's at.

Now the third beam being dropped in

-for Scott and Sarah. Come on, Zeus.

-Come on! Come on! You good?

Yup. Zeus bringing in

-the third beam to try to play catch-up. Come on!

Go, guys, go, go, go. You got this.

-You got this! Let's go. Let's go!

You good? Yeah.

Wait, right there. Drop it down. Let them down.

Zeus and Swifty

-moving on to their fourth beam. Come on, Swifty!

Ahead of Scott and Sarah, taking a slight lead. Come on, Sarah!

Six beams total they have to get into place.

This is great work from them. Getting into a rhythm now.

Bolted that one in very fast.

Zeus and Swifty are picking up

their fourth one quick. I almost couldn't believe

that they had, like, caught up to us and passed us.

Once we had a little bit of a lead,

I thought we would just build on that.

And it's up in the air.

Slightly ahead of Scott and Sarah.

Come on, Swifty!

Let's go, Swifty.

Scott and Sarah keep kind of taking the lead,

but Swifty and Zeus keep catching up to them.

I mean, it is neck and neck.

Whoa! Hold up!

This is their fourth beam. Only two to go.

All right, Swifty. Good job, Man of Steel!

Now it's a race for their fifth beam.

We have six beams to put into this structure.

It's going to come down to the last beam at this rate.

Neck and neck.

All about getting these bolts in.

Sarah, you got it?

Yeah, I got this.

-Put the tree in and stuff. Got it.

Bro, you got your bolt in? No. I can't even get

-the damn thing. My eye bolt's so tight. Here.

It seemed like all of my bolts were really tight.

The first two or three that I did, you know,

I was able to get them in there and get them tight.

But the rest, I really had to work

really, really hard to get them.

And I'm all tangled up, and I'm thinking, "Oh, this is--

Like, and if I slip and fall, it's going to be over.

I mean, I've never been

on a, you know, a small--

basically a gymnastics balance beam

while putting in, you know, steel.

But it's-it's game time. We got to go.

Down a little bit. Down a little. Wh-where do you need it?

All of the sudden,

Swifty and Zeus have their beam up there.

So it comes down to who can get these bolts in faster.

Something I learned from day one is don't be overconfident.

Swifty has always been a powerhouse,

and he don't give up.

I'm comfortable going into any challenge because

the pressure that I felt at my job

surpasses any challenge. I got no breaking point.

"Zeus. The Man of Steel." I like that.

It's the god of thunder and lightning versus steel.

Who's going to win?

Me.

It's overtime!

-Showdown. It's a showdown.

It will be.

Yeah. Zeus and Swifty,

when this overtime is finished,

one of you will be out of the individual competition,

and you'll be punching out.

They call ironworkers "cowboys of the sky."

They work up high.

One of the things that they practice here

is being able to climb up a column.

That way, you can access the work area more efficiently

and sometimes, you may be called upon

to rescue a fellow worker.

You want to get to them as fast as you possibly can.

Task is pretty simple.

When that work whistle blows, get onto this column,

climb it as fast as you can.

Get a good grip, 'cause there's no foot or handholds.

First to ring the bell

makes it into the final three.

As a lineman,

we climb all kinds of things.

I didn't know it was possible to climb a beam,

but I'm feeling good.

All the jobs that you have done so far on Tough As Nails,

they have taken sometimes hours to complete.

This one could be over in seconds.

Swifty, I know you like a good sprint.

No experience doing that.

But, in my life, there's times I could've gave up.

I persevered and, you know,

kept my nose to the grind,

and turned things around.

Kind of mind-blowing, but the best of the best can climb

a column like this in under five seconds.

I like Zeus, but this is my boy Swifty.

He brings it. He's got all heart.

He'll sprint out like he did at the soccer stadium.

You never know what Swifty's going to do.

Let's go into overtime. Yeah!

This makes the third one and, uh,

I just move forward.

I get up and strap up these steel toe boots every day

and work these 12-, 16-hour shifts.

I came here representing the United Steelworkers,

and everything's riding on this.

Going into the challenges, you have to adapt pretty quickly.

That's what linemen do. We adapt on the fly,

and we learn fast.

And, you know, we work in high-pressure situations

every single day, so this is nothing new.

I'm going to give it my all

and just rip through it.

Okay.

Up to you whether you go with gloves or not,

but this is gonna come down to technique, core strength.

Most importantly, mental toughness.

This is for the final spot

in the final three.

Coming to Tough As Nails,

I learned a lot about myself.

I wanted to be more sensitive

to other people's ideas or viewpoints.

It's pointed here. Like, it's not pointed out.

I learned not to be too overconfident.

I got to come down!

This competition has taught me

to lean on others when you need help

because you never know people's stories

or adversities.

Tough As Nails season one.

And today, we're going to crown another champion.

You're the best of the best. We started with 12 contestants,

and now we have just nine.

But I have a surprise to deliver.

What?

Patrick!

Fresh out of quarantine.

Having to leave my team was the hardest part.

These are my brothers. These are my sisters.

And I wanted to end my season with me supporting my teammates

-for the victory. We missed you.

We miss him so much. He's such an important

-part of our team. You had somebody looking after you.

-A guardian angel. I told her, "Thank you for taking care of me."

I knew I was in good hands.

Well, we can't tell you how nice it is to see you back.

Yes!

Are you surprised at who's in the final three?

This is who I thought might be there. Is that right?

Yeah.

So. Scott, Zeus, and Sarah,

you are the last three in the Tough As Nails

individual competition.

But you got a lot of work to do

before you get that $200,000

and the all-new Ford F-150.

When that work whistle blows, pick up a sledgehammer.

You're going to smash through this wall

as fast as you possibly can.

When you get through to the other side,

you're going to see a concrete block.

Inside that concrete block is a bolt cutter.

The way you get it out is you're going to use a jackhammer.

Use the bolt cutter to cut through a chain-link fence.

Cut a hole big enough so you can take some lobster traps

through the hole in the fence and use ten

to build steps to get up on top of a container.

Once you're on top of the container,

you see those three I-beams sticking up in the air?

Pick up a hacksaw and start cutting away at a chain.

Once the chain is broken,

that I-beam is going to drop down onto the container.

That will create a bridge.

Go across the bridge and drop into the final workspace.

When you get down, you're going to see

two marine lines.

Untangle both lines as fast as you can.

Pull the line through an eye hole.

That'll pull up a ladder,

and then tie them off to a bollard.

Once you've tied off that ladder on both sides,

climb the ladder,

and at the top, you're going to see a key fob

and an all-new Ford F-150.

See it shining off in the distance?

The first person to get there and unlock it wins.

Sounds easy, right? No, not so easy.

Now, these are crazy times.

Ideally, I wanted to have your families here,

but it is a challenging time in the world.

So I have the next best thing.

Iraida continued to work on her fitness.

She and her son recently travelled

to Panama to visit her mom

for the first time in a year and a half.

Mikey "Eyebrows" is saying goodbye

to the cold New York winters

and moving his family out west.

Celi is working at a vaccine clinic

and also got engaged.

Zeus was inspired by Roofer Lee

and now helps out a friend on the weekends.

He also accepted a position training lineman apprentices.

Tara got a new job as a mate

on a towing vessel in western Alaska.

She's now training to become an officer.

Angel is giving back to his community

as a fitness coach and mentor to troubled kids.

He also flew his son to Miami for a special visit.

Merryl is adopting her foster daughter

and publishing an autobiography.

After becoming Tough As Nails champion,

Scott is sharing his message to "Be Better."

on projects around the house

and breaking personal records at the gym.

Swifty was honored by his union,
