It's a lot on the line.

So we're gonna be celebrating the trades.

I mentioned that you are the best of the best

in your chosen trades.

We're gonna celebrate one today.

Drywalling.

There's over 300,000 drywallers in the United States.

It's a job that requires a lot of attention to detail.

And when you talk about drywalling,

you can't really think about drywalling

without thinking about perhaps

the most famous drywaller of them all.

And who is that?

Danny the Drywaller.

Danny crushed it on season one.

He never finished below second on every single challenge.

Danny is a third-generation drywaller.

His dad's a drywaller,

grandfather's a drywaller.

Drywall Danny, we called you in because...

I don't know anybody else in the whole world that knows more

about drywall than you.

So what's the job that you have lined up for everybody?

The job today is to hang this structure.

So, we're gonna have you guys hanging Sheetrock.

There's 24 sheets--

nine on the ceiling, 15 on the walls.

Those sheets, how much do they weigh?

Some of 'em weigh-weigh over 100 pounds.

-Yep. -Wow.

Start with the ceiling first, 'cause that's how

I would do this.

There's lights. Those need to be cut out properly.

And then hang the walls after that.

There's windows.

There you go.

All right.

Danny is gonna be watching you while you work.

He wants to make sure that this drywall work

that you do today is up to standard,

because Danny does not accept anything but excellence.

Is that not right, Danny?

Perfectly right.

So, Savage Crew, as you can see,

Dirty Hands are still down one team member.

Does mean that you have to sit someone out today.

It wasn't a hard decision

for me to sit this one out,

because Sarah says she has some experience

and I've never done anything with drywall.

Lot of organizing going on from both teams.

I want to use those benches

that the tools are on.

I think those would be better

than using the ladders

because I seen Danny using 'em.

Zeus and Angel looking

to lift up the first sheet at exactly

the same time that Savage Crew have theirs.

Remember, those are 103 pounds, those sheets.

Danny did it

-all by himself. We needed ladders in place

so we can hand it off to each other. Move, move.

Hanging Sheetrock takes endurance.

It takes strength.

Some of these sheets can, uh, weigh

over 100 pounds pretty easily.

So relying on teammates is gonna be huge.

Sarah, come here. Hand me this.

That's saving them a lot. You good?

I've worked a little bit

with drywall.

I-I feel like I know the process.

And when it comes down to speed,

to strength, to organization,

to cut their drywall to size

and then make sure that they get those screws into the studs.

Merryl cut way too far inside the skylight.

She went right past it.

Scott, I'm so sorry. I cut too far, man.

That is a big mistake for Savage Crew. -Stay focused. It's okay.

We have to take that whole piece out.

Meanwhile, Dirty Hands

with a great big piece of drywall up.

Angel, get up here. I need help. I need help, Angel.

-I need help. -The little drywall experience

I have is a basement that was low enough

that you can just stand and hold, which is easier

than the balancing. It-It's challenging.

Now somebody screw on my end! Okay, hold on.

Oh, I'm going down for a sec. I'm going down.

And I just have so much respect

for drywallers. I have so much respect for Danny.

I had no idea how incredibly hard this job was,

because he made it look like a piece of cake.

Danny, they're putting in the effort. -Yep.

There's a lot of that in drywall.

Savage Crew on a comeback.

-Getting their third piece of drywall up.

Hold it, Angel. You holding?

I can't. My back. -I got you. I got you.

Yo, my back.

I-I have to put it down. My back.

Throughout the competition,

it was just taking a toll on my body.

Holding 100-pound drywall for a long period of time,

my back was aching.

My shoulders was just pulsing.

Obviously, I'm not gonna quit and I'm gonna keep going,

but I was in pain, man.

You got it, Angel.

-You got it. I've been able to hang Sheetrock one-handed

by myself since, basically, I was 16 years old.

It-It's tough. It's taxing on the upper body.

And it gets super tiring

if you, uh, aren't conditioned for it, that's for sure.

Dirty Hands struggling to get this third piece

-of drywall up. Angel, rest it on the ladder if your back hurts.

Bring it on the ladder, Angel.

Angel is exhausted.

Look at the agony on Angel's face.

These challenges take a toll on your body.

Angel is in pain.

He's not gonna be able to muscle it like he usually does.

It's gonna make this challenge a lot harder,

and I'm gonna have to figure out something fast.

-It's not moving though.

We are 30 minutes into this.

Both teams fighting to get their ceilings in.

That is a disaster

for Dirty Hands.

Dirty Hands just lose

a huge piece of drywall off the ceiling.

There was too much weight on only half an inch of, uh, wood.

That weight just took it down.

That was kind of brutal to watch.

There was a lot of struggle going on with Dirty Hands.

God, hopefully, they can pull it out.

Guys, do you want to do it not a whole piece? Half-and-half?

Let's do half-and-half, dude.

My body's not an excuse,

but, like, if you can't do it the big way,

then let's do it the small way.

Savage Crew have also made mistakes,

but now they're getting onto a roll.

Danny, you see how the height comes in handy

when you're six-foot-seven, and you can just

He's got built-in stilts.

As Scott finishes up the ceiling

for Savage Crew, the rest of his teammates are already working

-on the far wall. Let's go!

So proud of us. We made it this far.

Finally get the ceiling done.

Once they get that screwed in,

that'll be the ceiling complete for Savage Crew.

We get to the walls, things just start clicking.

We're moving at a pretty good pace, now.

Celi and Merryl are bringing in pieces of sheetrock.

I get a few screws in it to hold it,

and then they can go off and measure and cut a new piece.

And all the while we're doing that,

Sarah's with the router nonstop,

cutting out the openings for the windows,

for the electrical outlets,

and probably ate a whole bunch of drywall dust.

She was powdered donut-looking, like she had a bunch of

confectioners' sugar all over her, just...

One hour and 30 minutes

so far to earn that $60,000 cash bonus.

Danny, how long would it take you to do this job?

By myself? Less than an hour.

-You hear that? Less than an hour. -Yeah.

Those sheets are rapidly going up on the walls.

But it's my last chance to work

Well, I'd like them to complete the job that I started.

I want them to start from the bottom

and make it all the way to the top.

You take each shingle, nail it on,

get to the top, get the shingle lined up, put the cap on it.

Then you'll be finished. Everybody got that?

-Yes, sir. It's a tough job,

but it's got to be done.

The secret is,

you got to get enough shingles

lined up straight.

'Cause if you don't get it straight,

you're gonna have to go back and redo it.

When you go back and redo it,

that's gonna cost you time.

So you have to have a combination

of both speed and accuracy.

Lee, how long would it take you

to do this side of the roof?

15 minutes or less.

-Nah! All right.

Anybody, if you can beat 15 minutes or less...

You got a job right away with me, 15 minutes or less.

I have never done roofing before.

But it's a detail job, which is something that I love to do.

These are, like, the five toughest people

out of the 12 that came in.

So for me to be in top five,

I'm ready to give it my all.

All right, we're gonna finish off the job

that Lee started today.

Everybody remember, if you go on the roof, clip yourself in.

I want to bring up some material so that I can work.

Never done any roofing before, but I figured

I could hold my own.

Take your time.

Get the job done right the first time.

My goal is to just get up there

the things that I need,

get to work on the bottom rows

and work my way up.

I didn't want to take a lot of supplies up there

'cause I knew it would start sliding off.

I hooked my shingles

over the top of the ladder

and just worked from there.

We got ten strips

of the asphalt shingles

to put onto the roof.

Get your lines right.

You don't want to have

to pull off the shingles and start again.

I have absolutely no idea where to start. I'm just

trying to make sure that I keep everything nice and neat.

I don't want to have any crooked shingles.

I don't want to have to take any nails out.

Iraida doing a great job with that nail gun.

I decided to grab

a handful of shingles

and put them across on my ladder

so I don't have

to come down so many times.

Preparation's the key!

Got to be thinking beforehand.

Sarah's working

beautifully at the end.

Couple months ago, I wanted to buy a little shed,

but they were too expensive, so I decided to build my own.

I had some shingles laying around,

so I put some shingles on top.

But today was the first time

I've ever used a nail gun.

I like it.

I might have to get one of those.

Iraida's working steadily away.

Zeus is doing a good job finishing that first row,

but Swifty,

he hasn't even finished doing inventory.

Oh, man.

He's got everything he needs on the roof.

Sometimes you shoot yourself in the feet doing that.

Sometimes you have more material than you need.

Now he's just got to get focused on putting it down.

Swifty finally putting in the shingles,

but he's working upside down.

What did Lee say to you?

Work from the bottom to the top.

Right.

Whoa! Swifty slipping on the roof.

It's a good thing we're tied off.

I don't know why I thought maybe if I could

do it in reverse

with the supplies up there, that would be faster,

but I was able to get myself together and just,

you know, work my way up.

Swifty now getting it.

Working from the bottom to the top.

Remember, the winner today gets an advantage

in the next challenge.

You don't want to miss that opportunity.

Once you get the first one in right,

the rest of them gonna fall in.

I overlapped the shingles

instead of buttoning them up.

The pressure is definitely on now,

but you have to stay positive. Anybody can make a mistake.

Okay. Roofing is hard.

It's hard on my back trying to keep balanced

on the roof without sliding off.

I'm a big guy. I need a lot of room,

and there wasn't much room up there.

Remember, the last two of you going into overtime.

Zeus is powering ahead,

and Swifty getting onto a roll.

He's on to his fifth row,

almost even with Iraida and gaining on Zeus.

I know Scotty and Sarah's ahead. My concern

is Swifty right now. Like, okay, I got to pick this up.

Zeus is racing.

Down to Scott and Sarah.

Who's gonna finish the job first?

You're the final five because you are the best of the best,

but one of you will be punching out today.

Swifty has all his materials on the roof,

-but he's running out of room to work. -He got too many shingles.

Once I got towards the top,

I knew I had too much stuff up there.

I couldn't really grab the shingles

and move them the way I wanted to.

so I know I got a little bit of a heads-up on the cutting,

but who knows. It's a toss-up between Scott and I.

You can't get frantic. If you get too frantic,

then you're gonna be out of your zone,

so I try to stay calm.

-Scott or Sarah? Aw, man.

It's nerve-racking.

I'm struggling.

It was way easier to cut off

one shingle than the big old thick group of them.

Sarah doesn't get panicked.

She doesn't make dumb mistakes.

I let things get to me a little bit,

but I'll fight through it. I want to win.

We're getting very close.

He's got this down now.

He struggled to get going, but boy, is he looking good now.

This one, the most important yet.

Where I'm from, I can't quit.

I grew up, you know-- it was projects, and they built

that project on top of a lead factory that they tore down.

Hundreds of people died, thousands sick.

You know, a-a little joke we say in the hood is,

"We lead babies." You know what I mean?

I'm blessed to be here, but if I quit, I don't make it.

I got kids. I got a family. That's not an option for me.

Get used to looking at the underdog.

I was born an underdog, you know what I'm saying?

So right now, it's-it's my time.

Every second in America, 19,000 toilets flush.

A billion flushes every day.

Today, it's Plumber Appreciation Day.

What you have to do in this overtime

is figure out a plumbing puzzle.

Everything you need to know to get this job done

is on those plans. Your job is

to hook up the plumbing for a shower, a sink

and a toilet. You'll be working

with two-inch piping, one-and-a-half inch piping

and three-inch piping.

A professional plumber would clean

and glue pipes and joints together,

but first, they have to make sure

that the right pieces are in place.

And that's what you're going to do today.

The first of you to figure out

this plumbing puzzle and flush your toilet

is going to make it through into the final four.

If you don't figure out this plumbing puzzle,

and you don't flush your toilet, you will be punching out.

You'll lose your shot at $200,000, the title

of Tough As Nails champion

and that all-new Ford F-150.

Let's get to work.

That title would

mean a lot to me.

It'll show me that I've been doing

something right all these years.

The way I carry myself as a woman, as a mother,

and my not giving up in life has brought me to this day here.

And you know, shown me that, you know what?

Keep working hard, because it finally paid off.

Both of them grabbing all their connecting parts.

I got a little experience plumbing.

The flushing system-- everybody should be thankful for that,

because I've had some backups.

That's where I got my experience.

My plan was to separate each size pipe.

That way, if I make a mistake, boom, I can fix it.

Iraida's laying in the first three-inch pipe.

I don't have the experience

with this type of work, but

I'm placing the final piece of piping first.

That way, I can work my way up.

What do you think?

Good call. Here comes Swifty

with his first three-inch pipe.

This is for the toilet.

Looking at the lengths.

Plans show exactly what length of pipe is needed

and where it all goes together. Like a puzzle.

Scott, what do you got to focus on when you read plans?

I always go with the most difficult part first,

and then I work backwards up, so that's just what I would do.

Come on, Swifty. Good job, Swifty.

Got to really study that plan.

All of the piping gets connected together

so it all flushes out into the bucket.

We're hoping that this whole thing

will end with a flush.

Ooh, Iraida's just made a big mistake.

She put the two-inch joint, which goes to the shower,

where the one-and-a-half-inch joint to the sink should be.

As soon as she tries to connect the pipe,

she's gonna run into problems.

That's a big mistake.

-Angel can't take it. -Ugh!

Realizes straightaway that that piece is in the wrong spot.

Usually, Iraida's good with detail.

If it has to do with staying focused

and keeping your cool, then Iraida might have

the upper hand, but I find this exciting

and nerve-racking at the same time.

Swifty, Iraida,

a spot in the final four is on the line.

Which one of you wants it more?

That's one way to get a good seal.

Look up them plans. Iraida now installing

the sink joint where the shower joint should be.

Still hasn't noticed that earlier mistake.

Good job, you two.

Iraida's pipe has come apart

at the top of her three-inch pipe connecting to the toilet.

Will she spot it before it falls?

Whoa. That's not good.

Oh, it's come down.

You got this, Iraida. Here we go, and now,

-the bottom's falling out. It's okay.

Got it keep it together if you want to be

-in the final four. I'm trying to rush, you know,

'cause this is who finishes faster.

But I didn't push it in tight enough.

Keep your cool.

Stay cool.

Swifty, meanwhile, working

on a two-inch pipe coming down from the shower.

He's got his three-inch pipe half assembled.

It's coming from the toilet.

None of his one-and-a-half-inch pipe from the sink.

So I'm working. I think I got a good rhythm.

I'm rolling, at least I think I am.

Looked over, and she had got quite a bit done,

and I was worried, but if I spend too much time

worried about what somebody else doing,

I can't get what I need to get done.

Let's go, Swifty. Keep it going.

-Think about what you're doing. -Good job, you two.

Okay, Iraida back on track.

She has her three-inch pipe connected again.

Come on, Iraida.

She is a survivor.

She's strong. She's strong.

See if Swifty can handle the pressure,

because Iraida's already got all her three-inch piping in.

Swifty-- he is just

a hard-charging guy.

And he is focused and determined to win today.

When she starts to bring down

the pipe from the sink, I think

she's gonna realize that the sink and the shower

connections are still in the wrong place.

Good job, Iraida. Keep taking your time.

You got plenty of time.

Oh, no. Here we go.

She's gonna realize in a second.

She's got a two-inch piece of pipe,

trying to connect it to one-and-a-half-inch pipe.

How long is she going to pause before she figures this out?

Something's not adding up there.

Bringing the pipes down,

I don't see that it's fitting.

So I'm like, "What did I do wrong?"

-It can't be. Good job, you two.

Meanwhile, Swifty's looking at his pipes.

And he's wondering what's going on.

All of a sudden, I noticed

that I got a pipe that's too short.

Now I know I got to take it apart,

find the problem,

and fix it and keep going.

Is that enough time

for Iraida to figure out her mistake?

Good job, you two.

This is it. Swifty now has the correct pipes in place.

This one has to go here, but this doesn't fit here.

I finally put everything together,

and now it's about checking for tightness.

Make sure when I open up these valves that the pipes

don't go bursting on me. It's a race to the finish now.

Will Swifty's pipes hold together?

This is for a spot in the final four,

and a chance at being Tough As Nails champion.

Here we go.

Shower goes on.

Sink goes on. Time to flush that toilet.
