of her element, which she is.

what you're doing.

The owner of this parking area

has some artwork
that's looking a little tatty.

give him
a nice, clean, fresh canvas

so he can put a new piece
of artwork up on the wall.

When the work whistle blows,
you'll go to the back

of your Ford F-150, where
you've got all the supplies

to get the job done.

You've got 20 gallons
of nail gray paint.

You've got five extensions.

You've got rollers,
drop cloths, two ladders.

And we have team coveralls
inside your trucks.

The most important tool
you'll be using today

is you each have a scissor lift.

Savage Crew, you'll be working
on this part of the wall.

Dirty Hands, you'll be working
on this half of the wall.

Anybody got any experience
with painting?

As you've learned
in all these jobs,

it's one thing to have
strong individuals,

it's another thing
to be coordinated

and you work
efficiently as a team.

The way our team works,

it doesn't matter
who the crew boss is.

We all work together.

We're-- We feel excited.

We, you know,
we run to the truck.

We're trying to get what
we need to bring in the lift.

I don't have any professional
experience painting,

but, I mean, I've lived...

many different apartments
over the years

and painted every one of them.

All right, I'll start you up.

Anchor? Good.

Dirty Hands, the first to
get their scissor lift started,

-and they're moving.
I'm operating today,

and Liz is my passenger.

I use all types
of different AERO-LIFTs,

buckets every single day.

As an apprentice
coming up to a journeyman,

the one thing you're taught
is to eliminate redundant moves.

My plan is to basically
make three moves

with the AERO-LIFT, so it'll just be every two cars

will be where the lift sets up.

They're going
to the highest level.

We're all kind of picking roles

that we're comfortable with.

We're keeping Angel
on the ground

'cause he's one of the taller ones and we're hoping

he can reach the midway
point of the painting.

And then Iraida and I on the ground doing the ground work

and doing the-the drop cloths
and everything else.

Merryl and Sarah, getting
up onto the scissor lift.

I'm gonna be
the scissor lift operator.

Need to get us the buckets.

Because we need the taller guys Swifty and Scott down low.

This will be a test
for Scott to make sure

that he lets Swifty lead.

Celi working ahead
with the drop cloths.

This challenge,
I'm gonna be on the lower level.

And then once I'm done,
I'm gonna just kind of

give my recommendations
if we have any missing spots.

This is a detailed task.

It's not about
strength and muscle.

This is a mental challenge.

Sarah and Merryl to paint

from one position.

I can use that to reach

and that's a big advantage

for our team right now.

The last challenge, we didn't
really communicate well.

So this challenge,
our goal is to communicate

and execute the plan.

Don't kill yourself

rather than going

And look at the way that Angel
is using the extended handle

to be able to reach
these very high letters.

This is right in his wheelhouse.

This is what I do for a living.

You know,
part of my job is waterproofing,

and I've painted buildings
from 30 floors down.

It's just about making

every strike count.

Does it have to be
inside the letters?

Yes. We have to fill
the letters.

You want to add as much paint
as-as possible

but not too much
to where you're smearing

and leaving patches and making

the paint drip on you.

Yeah, I'm just blobbing mine.

-Yeah.
-A lot faster.

Merryl and Sarah are moving
up towards the top level now.

Make sure that you cover up
all the color.

If I can see color

really quickly,
but then we notice that Zeus

I'm not necessarily

One thing that got to me

is when they started
painting my letters.

And it's like,

are using the scissor lift

to paint the letters that he can
easily paint from the ground.

Sarah and Merryl,
on the move again.

They've completed the top
section at a blistering pace.

But once that paint dries,
they're gonna need to step

way back and see just how
thorough their painting is.

As a pipe welder,
you have to take a second

to pay attention to details

and have the patience
to get that weld right.

It's hard for Merryl
and I to see the color

coming through because
we-we've been looking

at the gray wall the whole time,
and we're really close.

Hey, that blue up top
is not gonna be done.

All right, move everything,
move everything.

We didn't skip a beat.
Everybody was doing something.

And as we're painting,
man, you know, it's hot,

and that brick holds heat,
so the sun

was just beating off of it.

but they're covering up

There are four lines of windows

that need to be cleaned.

And since there's eight of you,

that means you will be working

-in pairs.

We're gonna be starting
on the ground.

When that work whistle blows,
one person from each pair,

run up to the top
of the building,

grab a bucket
and squeegee, hook in.

Once one member
has cleaned a line of windows,

they'll hand over their bucket

and their squeegee
to their partner,

who will then clean
the second pane of glass.

The pair that finishes last

will go from being partners

to being rivals in overtime,

and one of you will be
punching out.

Growing up, at church camp everyyear, we went rock climbing.

I didn't know how Sarah
felt, particularly,

with heights, so I figured
if I went over first

and she got a chance

if she had any doubts,

that would kind of help her

when she had to go up.

But it was actually
a little platform that

they had hanging there and you had to put your feet on.

So I'm just dangling,
trying to find the spot.

Just kept telling myself,
"Don't look down."

I legit don't want to go over.

I don't want to do it.
I'm really considering

just stepping away from this one
and going into OT.

But then...

I know if I do that,

me and Merryl
are going into overtime.

I get to the first window,
and I'm like,

"Yo, what the hell?"

Yeah, it was so hard
to clean those windows.

What made it hard was,
I would throw

a bunch of water on it,

and it would dry instantly.

You know, it was super hot,
I was super uncomfortable.

And I was like, "Man,
I just want to get down."

Oh, they're gonna
need a lot of water.

These windows are filthy.

Look, all of that stuff,
and then the sun baking it on.

It's really stuck.

This is gonna take a long time.

Swifty and Zeus getting
off to a fast start.

Scott was hesitant
out of the gate,

but now he's picking up speed.

And Freight Train,
doing what he does best,

methodically working away.

Get more water.

Scott was a little bit
behind me coming down the wall,

but he was finishing
faster than me.

I'm trying to go
faster and faster,

but I'm really struggling,
trying to keep myself

in the right position
to actually clean 'em.

And it was starting
to wear on me.

Cleaning these dirty
windows is hard enough,

but made even more difficult
with that scorching sun.

All that reflective light
off the glass

really taking a toll
on everybody.

It's just the complete opposite
of what I thought

was gonna happen.

I still didn't even think about using Knuckles on the ground,

which is something we do
every day as linemen.

Our groundman is so crucial.

So it clicks in my head,
