Phil brings us in front of a wall.

And, you know, I seen a AERO-LIFT on each side.

I'm a lineman, so I was like, "Oh, like, this is my ballpark."

Celi, you were eliminated from the individual competition.

I know your team wants to get a win for you today.

I feel like I owe it to my team now,

and we got to work together to get this win.

-We owe, we owe this win to Celi. -Yeah.

In the individual competition, we lost, uh, Celi.

You know, Celi belongs here.

You know, she-she have her moments where, you know,

she really feels out of her element, which she is.

She's a nurse. But I couldn't go to the hospital and do her job.

Dirty Hands have been bringing it.

Oh, yeah. They beat us.

I can't take nothing away. They tough.

-They beat us. -Straight up.

So now it's our turn to beat that ass.

Yeah.

-Yeah. We-we need a resounding

-win today, and that's what we're here for. -We do.

Well, let me tell you what you're doing.

The owner of this parking area

has some artwork that's looking a little tatty.

give him a nice, clean, fresh canvas

so he can put a new piece of artwork up on the wall.

When the work whistle blows, you'll go to the back

of your Ford F-150, where you've got all the supplies

to get the job done.

You've got 20 gallons of nail gray paint.

You've got five extensions.

You've got rollers, drop cloths, two ladders.

And we have team coveralls inside your trucks.

The most important tool you'll be using today

is you each have a scissor lift.

Savage Crew, you'll be working on this part of the wall.

Dirty Hands, you'll be working on this half of the wall.

Anybody got any experience with painting?

-Angel. -Ten years.

Ten years painting?

As you've learned in all these jobs,

it's one thing to have strong individuals,

it's another thing to be coordinated

and you work efficiently as a team.

And as always...

All right. Take a moment to go and strategize,

and we'll get to work.

Iraida, you haven't been crew boss yet.

Do you want to just be crew boss?

We're all gonna work together, we're gonna work as a team,

so we're gonna be able to do this.

-Swifty, you gonna take it? Absolutely.

We've decided to have Swifty as our crew boss.

When we were moving the straw bales, I kind of interjected

a different plan and didn't quite listen to Swifty.

Get the rest of those off the trailer and go back.

I can finish this.

I am for sure gonna redeem myself.

-Dirty, Dirty... Hands!

The way our team works,

it doesn't matter who the crew boss is.

We all work together.

We're-- We feel excited.

We're excited about this one.

All right, let's get it on.

-On the work whistle.

Let's do this.

The whistle blows.

We, you know, we run to the truck.

We're trying to get what we need to bring in the lift.

I don't have any professional experience painting,

but, I mean, I've lived...

many different apartments over the years

and painted every one of them.

All right, I'll start you up.

Anchor? Good.

Dirty Hands, the first to get their scissor lift started,

-and they're moving. I'm operating today,

and Liz is my passenger.

I use all types of different AERO-LIFTs,

buckets every single day.

As an apprentice coming up to a journeyman,

the one thing you're taught is to eliminate redundant moves.

My plan is to basically make three moves

with the AERO-LIFT, so it'll just be every two cars

will be where the lift sets up.

They're going to the highest level.

We're all kind of picking roles

that we're comfortable with.

We're keeping Angel on the ground

'cause he's one of the taller ones and we're hoping

he can reach the midway point of the painting.

And then Iraida and I on the ground doing the ground work

and doing the-the drop cloths and everything else.

Merryl and Sarah, getting up onto the scissor lift.

I'm gonna be the scissor lift operator.

Need to get us the buckets.

Because we need the taller guys Swifty and Scott down low.

This will be a test for Scott to make sure

that he lets Swifty lead.

Celi working ahead with the drop cloths.

-Hey, tarp, tarp! Tarps!

This challenge, I'm gonna be on the lower level.

And then once I'm done, I'm gonna just kind of

give my recommendations if we have any missing spots.

This is a detailed task.

It's not about strength and muscle.

This is a mental challenge.

You got it? Savage Crew using the extension

on their scissor lift.

That'll allow Sarah and Merryl to paint

more of their wall from one position.

Hey, I'm gonna kick this out.

Wait, wait, don't kick it. Don't kick it.

We don't need to. It's redundant, it's redundant.

-Okay. Okay, gotcha. -We're gonna move three times.

Dirty Hands choosing not to use the extension on their scissor.

Scott up on a ladder.

Look at that long reach. Six-foot-seven.

Yeah, with the ladder and the extended pole,

I can use that to reach

the second row from the top, and that's a big advantage

for our team right now.

Is there an extra roller?

The last challenge, we didn't really communicate well.

So this challenge, our goal is to communicate

and execute the plan.

Up, down, up, down, all around. Up, down.

Don't kill yourself with the height.

I got to go up again.

This is good teamwork.

Everybody's got a job.

Just as well there's drop cloths

'cause there's paint going everywhere.

You ready-- Are you ready to go up?

Uh, yeah.

Dirty Hands starting at the top level

Meanwhile, interesting that Savage Crew

decided to start on the second layer

rather than going right to the top.

I'm ready to go up. All right. Moving up.

And look at the way that Angel is using the extended handle

to be able to reach these very high letters.

This is right in his wheelhouse.

This is what I do for a living.

You know, part of my job is waterproofing,

and I've painted buildings from 30 floors down.

It's just about making

every strike count.

Does it have to be inside the letters?

Yes. We have to fill the letters.

You want to add as much paint as-as possible

but not too much to where you're smearing

and leaving patches and making

the paint drip on you.

Yeah, I'm just blobbing mine.

-Yeah. -A lot faster.

Merryl and Sarah are moving up towards the top level now.

Merryl! What?

I'm right next to you.

Make sure that you cover up all the color.

If I can see color from down here,

you're gonna have to go up and do it again.

Do it right the first time.

Can you reach that top corner?

And then we're good. After that, we'll go down to the next one.

-Okay, yeah. Yep. -You good?

All right. Coming down! coming down.

Angel, Iraida and I are getting stuff done

really quickly, but then we notice that Zeus

and Liz came down a little too far.

Zeus, let's get the top of these letters while we can.

Get the top, get the top of the "P."

I'm just trying to,

on the way down, like, hit things

that I can hit on the way down that, you know,

I'm not necessarily gonna finish this,

but just, if I have the chance to do

a little extra, do a little extra.

Guys, go back up. I got this.

-You don't have the top of these letters... No, do not come down!

Go back up! Go back up.

One thing that got to me

is when they started painting my letters.

And it's like, "Don't come down and paint."

What are they yelling down there? And why?

Do not come down next time!

-Well, then you got to move so we can move! All right, let's move.

-Come on. Let's go. Hey. -Get the buckets out of the way, Angel!

Dude, you guys are wrong.

You're just wasting time.

-Iraida! You can see why Angel is frustrated.

Zeus and Knuckles are using the scissor lift

to paint the letters that he can easily paint from the ground.

-Coming down. -Coming down!

Sarah and Merryl, on the move again.

They've completed the top section at a blistering pace.

But once that paint dries, they're gonna need to step

way back and see just how thorough their painting is.

As a pipe welder, you have to take a second

to pay attention to details

and have the patience to get that weld right.

It's hard for Merryl and I to see the color

coming through because we-we've been looking

at the gray wall the whole time, and we're really close.

Hey, that blue up top is not gonna be done.

All right, move everything, move everything.

We didn't skip a beat. Everybody was doing something.

Swifty, let me help you. Let me help you.

And as we're painting, man, you know, it's hot,

and that brick holds heat, so the sun

was just beating off of it.

All right, I'm going up, Merryl.

-Merryl. -Lift coming up!

Savage Crew making great time,

but there are some patches of colored paint showing through.

Dirty Hands going slower, but they're covering up

more of the colored paint.

Hey, Zeus, I-I'm gonna kick this out.

They got more letters than we did.

The passenger never overrides the operator.

Liz extended it, and to me,

that's like saying, "Screw you,"

so I'm like, "Okay, well, screw it, then."

Is that all it can go?

All right, let's do whatever, then, you know?

Even though it's not part of the plan, like,

I-I think it will be an advantage

to kick out the extension.

But look at them and look at us.

-How you looking on supplies? I'm fine.

Good coverage. We need good coverage.

The guy who owns this building is very particular.

He's very wealthy and very particular,

and he loves gray paint.

I'm running around everywhere to point out

every spot that we missed, because right now

it's getting down

to the very little details.

Both teams about halfway through the job,

but they've got some patching up to do.

Come on, guys! Come on!

In all this process,

I'm looking at how many cars we have left.

And then I'm looking over,

and they have less cars than us.

Come on. We can still see part...

From my experience, I don't work like that.

It makes it more complicated.

We just have to be more efficient.

One thing I know at this point about Dirty Hands

is, once they're behind in a competition,

they get a little frazzled.

So I'm trying to keep them frazzled

by just staying ahead of them

in the competition.

It's crazy because this is a patience challenge,

but it's also who finishes faster.

You stood back, and it literally came down

to one mistake apiece.

air our grievances.

We lost because we didn't do a good enough job painting.

I know we have team challenges still going forward,

I'm working on just, like, taking a step back.

For me, I always tell myself, like, "You got this,"

It's just not something I've ever done,

so it's not as easy as me starting to go,

It doesn't come naturally to me to do that.

We do want to see each other go through

each round and not get knocked out,

but when it comes down to it, these people

who I'm riding here with, who are on my team,

they're in my way.

And we're in each other's way,

and we've got to fight against each other.

And it's a weird dynamic.

I'm sweating it a little bit today.

I'm gonna be honest.

I'm feeling a little bit of pressure now

after you guys said I was the threat.

Like, one of the things I love about my trade

is the camaraderie, you know?

Like, is it a pretty solitary job?

I usually have the same loader.

And you get to know all the people.

Like, you walk in there, and you know

who-who you got to go to get the signature.

I-I just love my job for the people aspect of it.

I've gotten to see kids grow up.

I've delivered their birthday presents.

I've delivered their Christmas presents.

My customers, they're like friends.

We're going into the individual challenge next,

and I'm hoping that I'm showing

that even though, you know, I am older,

I'm hoping I'm making everybody proud.

Not just my family but my brothers and sisters

in my union and my industry.

the windows were when you got to the building today?

-No. -You couldn't even see them. -They are filthy.

They are disgusting. They need to be cleaned.

That is your job.

And how do you clean windows?

-You go over the side. -You go over the side

and you go down.

That is what you will be doing today.

-Ha, yes! -I was like a kid

in a candy store. I was like, "Yes."

I was happy. We're gonna be outside,

dangling in the air.

I just

legitimately get, like, physically sick.

I'm afraid of my giant body,

with one little rope holding me

over emptiness.

That's what I'm afraid of.

There are four lines of windows

that need to be cleaned.

And since there's eight of you,

that means you will be working

-in pairs. -In pairs.

Oh, wow. -One person will be cleaning

the left side of the line of windows,

the other person will be cleaning the right side.

We're gonna be starting on the ground.

When that work whistle blows, one person from each pair,

run up to the top of the building,

grab a bucket and squeegee, hook in.

Go over the side

and start cleaning a line of windows.

Once one member has cleaned a line of windows,

they'll hand over their bucket

and their squeegee to their partner,

who will then clean the second pane of glass.

The pair that finishes last

will go from being partners

to being rivals in overtime,

and one of you will be punching out.

There's a lot on the line.

$200,000 and an all-new Ford F-150 truck.

If you have a fear of heights,

this is when you need to find your inner Murph.

In the fire challenge, when he went over the edge

and he was petrified...

That was super quick.

I mean, that happened like lightning.

Scott, you just went straight to Merryl.

I'm gonna need Merryl on this one.

I'm freaking myself out.

To work up the courage to step over a building

and put my trust into someone's hands

and the gear is gonna be a big step for me.

I believe Scott chooses me

because I'm very calm under pressure.

So if he were to freak out a little bit,

I could be a reassuring force for him.

Everybody else, pick partners.

-Swifty? Yeah, let's go. -Sarah? Let's go.

Zeus, would you be my teammate?

-Make up for yesterday? -Yeah.

Growing up, at church camp everyyear, we went rock climbing.

My hardest part always, for me, is getting over

the side of the building.

I'm gonna need Patrick on this one.

'Cause I'm gonna need you to run the stairs.

Iraida and I have worked well together.

You know, we're both slow and steady

to get the job done.

So I was feeling pretty confident that we were

gonna do really well in this challenge.

All right, let's get down to the street,

Celi and Angel, you'll be with me over here.

I didn't know how Sarah felt, particularly,

with heights, so I figured if I went over first

and she got a chance to watch me,

if she had any doubts,

that would kind of help her

when she had to go up.

On the work whistle.

Go, Zeus.

Come on, Scott.

Lot of steps to get to the roof.

Exhausted.

Once they're on top,

they'll be rigged up and go over the edge.

We get to the top of the stairs,

and I'm actually starting to feel a little light-headed.

Want to just kind of ease yourself over the edge.

This is, uh, nothing new to me.

I work at heights.

I'm extremely comfortable at it.

Like, I don't have an ounce of fear,

and I definitely have an edge on everybody.

Ooh, Lord Jesus.

All right, here we go. They're going over the edge.

There you go, Patrick! Yes!

When I see Freight Train's legs coming over

on the outside of the building, oh, I start freaking out.

I'm like, oh, better him than me.

Am I in it? Yeah, you got one...

The scariest moment is when you're stepping over a wall

and you-- they tell you there's a ledge there,

but we thought it was, like, an actual ledge.

But it was actually a little platform that

they had hanging there and you had to put your feet on.

So I'm just dangling, trying to find the spot.

Just kept telling myself, "Don't look down."

-All right.

I legit don't want to go over.

I don't want to do it. I'm really considering

just stepping away from this one and going into OT.

But then...

I know if I do that,

me and Merryl are going into overtime.

Yes, yeah.

Scott hesitating at the top. He hasn't moved yet.

I'm gonna go.

I don't want to let go of that.

I get to the first window, and I'm like,

"Yo, what the hell?"

Yeah, it was so hard to clean those windows.

What made it hard was, I would throw

a bunch of water on it,

and it would dry instantly.

You know, it was super hot, I was super uncomfortable.

And I was like, "Man, I just want to get down."

Oh, they're gonna need a lot of water.

These windows are filthy.

Look, all of that stuff, and then the sun baking it on.

It's really stuck.

This is gonna take a long time.

Swifty and Zeus getting off to a fast start.

Scott was hesitant out of the gate,

but now he's picking up speed.

And Freight Train, doing what he does best,

methodically working away.

Scott was a little bit behind me coming down the wall,

but I'm really struggling, trying to keep myself

Cleaning these dirty windows is hard enough,

but made even more difficult with that scorching sun.

really taking a toll on everybody.

I told Zeus I wasn't gonna try

It's just the complete opposite of what I thought

was gonna happen.

I could feel my strength going.

And as soon as you let go,

it's like you fly back out.

Now I know his weakness is, "Don't mess with the process."

So I told him,

I still didn't even think about using Knuckles on the ground,

which is something we do every day as linemen.

Our groundman is so crucial.

So it clicks in my head, I'm like,

As soon as she does that, it does help.

in front of me, and I knew I just had to get

as much water on these windows as I can,

scrape off what you can and squeegee it,

move on to the next section.

that I actually did it.

I didn't give up. I didn't quit.

And it just became work.

I just wanted to let you know that he is under good care.

Just to be cautious, they're keeping an eye on him
