they looked at me like I wasn't going to make it.

But I proved them wrong.

We came here for one reason, and that's for our family.

SCOTT: What's your strategy?

Beautiful day.

But enough about the weather.

This is Tough As Nails.

[cheering]

You're the toughest workers in America, and we want to find out

who is the toughest of them all.

-Who's that going to be? -Right here. -Right here.

KEOGHAN: There will be only

one Tough As Nailswinner.

But... what makes this competition different?

Even if you punch out of the individual competition,

you're all going to be competing in a team competition,

which continues right to the end of the season.

And in this competition,

working with your team,

you'll be rewarded

-with lots of money. -That's right.

only one of you will be winning

KEOGHAN: So introduce yourselves

and tell everybody what you do for a living.

I'm a BAC Local 1 bricklayer out of New York City,

and my nickname is "Mikey Eyebrows."

[Keoghan laughs]

Oh, no.

KEOGHAN: Do you do it yourself?

No, no. I get them done.

-[laughter] -My name is Swifty.

Second generation USW steelworker Local 1011.

I'm a mechanical pipe welder,

-so I deal with a lot of steel, too. -My name is Cyril.

I'm a power line technician.

I'm from Hawaii, and they call me Zeus.

I got the power.

[laughter]

I fix the tracks where the Metro Rail runs.

We have to be very careful.

My name is Celi. I'm a registered nurse,

and I'm a travel nurse.

I worked on a COVID-19 unit.

-Thank you. -SCOTT: Wow.

KEOGHAN: Thank you for doing that.

My name is Liz. I go by "Knuckles,"

and I'm a union cement mason.

My name is Angel.

I manage construction sites

that have to do with waterproofing.

I'm Scott. I'm 40-- it's the new 20.

[laughter]

I'm in the geotechnical industry.

I'm a superintendent, been in it 15 years.

I'm Tara. I'm 38. I'm a merchant mariner.

My name is Patrick. I'm from the suburbs of Philly.

I'm a package delivery driver,

and my nickname is "Freight Train."

[laughter]

-LIZ: Thanks for bringing my wine. -PATRICK: Yes.

-[laughter] -KEOGHAN: Yeah.

And we have the "Dragon Lady"

sitting on the back of the truck.

My name is, uh, Merryl. I'm 49 years old.

I'm a retired Air Force colonel.

My last aircraft was the U-2Dragon Lady.

I'm the first and only black woman to fly the aircraft.

MIKEY: All right!

KEOGHAN: We are honored to have you here.

-Thank you for your service. -[applauding]

All right. Well, listen.

The first thing we're going to do

is we're going to pick two teams of six.

And we're going to do that

by having you compete in your first job.

-[group reacts] -[clapping]

The first two of you to finish the job

will get the power

to pick our two teams of six.

The key to any good team

is having a solid foundation.

And that's what you're going to build today.

When the work whistle blows,

grab a sledgehammer,

and start crushing rocks.

Then you're going to sift enough aggregate

to tip a set of scales.

After you've done that, you'll take aggregate

sand, cement, some water,

mix it all up,

and then pour the concrete into

one of those concrete forms.

The first two of you to level out your concrete,

will be picking our two teams of six.

So there's a lot on the line.

Is everybody ready to get to work?

-[cheering] -Let's go!

Follow me!

My mother used to drive buses for the mentally challenged.

And she couldn't afford a babysitter,

so she took me and my sister with her to work,

and that's when I learned that I had to work hard.

KEOGHAN: Okay.

Time to get the job done.

When you hear the work whistle blow,

let's make some concrete.

-[work whistle blows] -CELI: Let's go, baby!

KEOGHAN: Off to a flying start.

Mikey Eyebrows smashing the hell out of this thing.

MIKEY: Coming out the gate, I went hard.

My uncle Mark owned his own

concrete business, so I was around concrete my whole life.

So the love that I have for concrete

just goes beyond words.

-[grunting] -KEOGHAN: Tara

already loading her aggregate into her sift.

CELI: I don't even know

what these words mean. What is "aggregate"?

Get it!

KEOGHAN: Good technique from Liz.

Powerful blows.

Got a lot of leverage. Six foot seven.

I love construction because my dad loves construction.

I saw my dad be very proud

to finish a job, to be good at what he does,

and I wanted to do the same thing.

KEOGHAN: Angel's steady, working away here.

This is all about endurance, good technique.

And Liz has got fantastic technique.

Look how far ahead she is.

Low, steady, powerful blows coming from Swifty.

SWIFTY: Man, it's rough, it's hot, but I'm from

the steel mill. I stand next to

2,700 hundred degrees of molten iron every day.

So nothing is stopping me.

Merryl's got a lot of power coming through the sledgehammer.

MERRYL: My strategy is

I'm going to be slow and steady.

Take a deep breath. Marathon, not a sprint.

Let's do this.

Who's got the mental grit to get the job done first?

TARA: My strategy is just to grab

stuff that's thinner.

It's going to be easier to break.

KEOGHAN: Iraida knows how to use a sledgehammer,

she uses one at work all the time.

Sarah's got endurance. We know that.

I've never taken a week off.

I've never taken vacation.

If you don't put in the work, you're not going to succeed

or get what you want.

-[banging] -KEOGHAN: Here we go!

Liz the first to finish crushing her rocks.

She has tipped the scale.

She's moving on to making concrete.

CELI: Let's go, crew!

LIZ: I love physical work, and uh...

moms are some of the toughest people out there.

I mean, I worked through my pregnancy.

I remember the day it was 35 degrees,

and I was 35 weeks pregnant.

But there's still people, this day and age,

who think that women don't belong in the trades.

And I'm just excited to bring itand kind of prove people wrong.

KEOGHAN: Angel, Iraida, Sarah and Mikey,

right behind.

But here's Mikey Eyebrows moving forward.

MIKEY: I knew I had to pick up the pace a little bit

'cause in the back of my mind I knew--

Liz? She's amazing, and she knows

how to mix concrete very well.

Wow!

KEOGHAN: Wheelbarrow getting slightly tippy there.

MIKEY: Come on!

KEOGHAN: Liz! Mixing it together.

And now we have Sarah moving forward.

Sarah's scales tipped.

And Iraida has also tipped her scales.

She's moving on to making her concrete.

IRAIDA: Everything that I am today is because of my mother.

I was born in Venezuela, and when I was five years old,

my mom decided to take an adventure

and say, "We're going to go to the United States of America."

She worked hard. Sometimes she had three jobs.

And she taught me

if I keep working hard,

I know that I'm going to keep getting blessed.

KEOGHAN: Angel has tipped his scales.

-Yes. -He's now making his concrete.

ANGEL: My motivation is my son.

He's five years old.

He's my everything.

I live in Miami, and my son lives in Chicago.

There's times that I don't even have money to travel,

but I figure it out. That's why I do side jobs.

I want to move closer to him.

Like, that's why I work hard. He motivates me to do good.

There goes Tara moving forward.

And now Scott moving forward.

And Liz with the first shovelfuls into her form.

Mikey Eyebrows not far behind

as he starts filling up his form.

Right now you've got to give the lead to Liz.

Tara putting in her first pour...

just as Zeus tips his scale

and moves on to making concrete.

And Swifty gets his scale tipped,

closely followed by Merryl.

-[Celi whoops] -KEOGHAN: Celi still battling on

and the only one still crushing rocks.

And Freight Train getting

his first load of concrete into the form.

Remember: the first two to get the job done

get the power to pick a team.

[grunting]

Does Mikey Eyebrows have the stamina to keep on going?

[grunting]

Liz already filled up a quarter of her form.

[grunts]

I felt like I was dying.

I had to stop for a second.

At that time, I'm thinking just "water."

I was ready to stick my head in that barrel.

[grunting]

Mikey Eyebrows, don't stop.

-Let's go, let's go. -[Mikey pants]

KEOGHAN: Remember.

The first two to mix enough concrete to fill their forms

get to pick a team.

Mikey Eyebrows, don't stop. Let's go, let's go.

-Liz, how are you doing? -LIZ: All good.

KEOGHAN: In the lead, a little ahead of Mikey,

but it is going to be a close finish.

There's no quitting anyone here.

That uniform doesn't look quite as crisp as it did at the start.

Swifty has made up a huge amount of time with his mix.

And Zeus also wants the power to pick a team.

This is when that mental toughness kicks in.

-Right, Celi? I know you got this. -CELI: Yes, sir.

KEOGHAN: And here's Liz with another huge pour.

Looks like she only needs one more to get the job done.

And Sarah-- maybe only one pour left for her.

There you go!

Celi tips the scales, moving on to the concrete.

[clapping] Beautiful job. Beautiful job.

CELI: My body was shutting down.

It was long, hard, and tiring, and that's what I do every day

working 12-hour shifts.

This could be the final pour for Liz.

Doesn't want to spill it out of the concrete form.

Mikey mixing up what should be his last batch of concrete.

Come on, Liz. You're just seconds away now.

Mikey is mixing,

but once Liz gets that concrete form full,

all she has to do then is just smooth it out.

Once it's smooth, the job is done.

Mikey coming back with a load.

Will it be enough to catch up to Liz?

[Mikey panting]

Mikey Eyebrows just seconds behind.

It looks like Knuckles is going to get the win.

Oh!

She's come up short.

Not enough concrete to get the job done.

Has Mikey made enough or does he have to go back

-and make more? -MIKEY: Ah!

-Mikey Eyebrows gets the win. -Yeah!

MIKEY: Feeling great right now.

I get to decide who's on my team,

and that's really important.

Beautiful job.

MIKEY: These team members

are going to become like my union.

Local 1 BAC saved my life.

I was at a very dark place in my life at one time.

And they accepted me. They didn't judge me.

And I am forever grateful for that.

KEOGHAN: Liz with a final mix of concrete.

And Liz gets the job done.

You'll be picking the second team.

I wish I had beaten Mikey.

I was, uh, I was right behind him.

But I'm happy to come in second.

That would have been embarrassing,

-if we had lost that. -I know, dude, I know.

-I really glad... [laughs] -I know.

KEOGHAN: All right. We have our two winners.

You guys will be doing the picking.

Now, what you want to do

is take a really good look at everybody

and how they're working,

because you are looking at your teammates.

MIKEY: Let's go, guys! Don't give up!

LIZ: You got this!

KEOGHAN: And here comes Sarah.

-[Liz whooping] -Beautiful job.

Beautiful job. Nice.

SARAH: I feel good finishing third place.

Especially behind those two

who, you know, they work with cement.

Well, I struggled on that.

I would take you on as my apprentice on the job.

-I would. -MIKEY: Let's go, guys!

Show them what you've got, Merryl. Never give up.

Flying U-2s, you can wear yourself out in a heartbeat.

You have to be very methodical

in how much energy you're going to use,

so I'm going to be slow and steady,

but I've got to prove to those team captains

that I am a huge asset to the team.

SCOTT: Ha!

KEOGHAN: All right. Getting it done, Scott.

-Bring it on over. -Boy, Scott, attaboy.

KEOGHAN: Angel finishing up the job.

All good, Angel. Bring it in.

-MIKEY: Boy, Angel, attaboy. -[cheering]

KEOGHAN: And there goes Tara. Bring it over, Tara.

TARA: I finished in sixth.

I didn't do half bad.

I did half bad.

Just before half bad. [laughs]

Way to be.

KEOGHAN: Swifty's got the job done.

Bring it over, Swifty.

-SCOTT: Way to go, Swifty! -Man of Steel!

MIKEY: Attaboy.

SWIFTY: It bummed me out.

If you're not first, you're last.

But I never try to make an excuse.

My basketball coach told me, "Excuse is like

"a butt-- everybody's got one.

Get off your butt, and go get it if you want it."

KEOGHAN: All right, Zeus.

-[whoops] -KEOGHAN: Iraida, nicely done!

Whoo-hoo!

-Yeah! -KEOGHAN: And...

Freight Train gets the job done.

It's about pride now, Merryl.

Finishing the job, it's all you got to do.

There you go, Celi.

Celi might not be at the top

of every competition,

but she has the heart,

and that's what you need on a team.

If you have heart in your team,

everybody else is just going to ride that.

You're looking at two women

who have dealt with so much mental pressure in their lives.

Celi is somebody who holds

a person's hand when they're dying.

Can you imagine the mental fortitude

that it takes to do that?

And Merryl going to war.

Flying jets.

Not the fastest making concrete,

but there's no doubt they're tough.

-Come on, Celi! -Go, Merryl!

Come on, come on!

-Come on! -[whoops]

-[cheering] -Merryl, bring it on over.

-There you go! -[cheering]

MERRYL: I realized there were two of us left.

And I'm like, "I'm not coming in last."

It ain't happening. Not today.

-KEOGHAN: [whoops] Let's go, Celi. Come on! -Let's go cheer her on.

There you go, Celi.

-Let's go, Celi! -Come on, Cel.

KEOGHAN: I hope you've got another uniform.

-[clapping] -[laughing]

-Yeah, get it, Celi. -[cheering]

CELI: I tried my best.

That's all I could do, but, hey...

everybody was tough in the end.

And I finished.

the two team names were "Dirty Hands" and "Savage Crew."

Mikey, since you finished first,

you get to choose which legacy you want to be a part of

for the second season.

A legacy that will carry on on Tough As Nails.

I'll take Savage Crew.

They were the underdogs.

And I plan to change that.

I want to rewrite Savage Crew legacy.

Pick up where they left off,

and just to take off and keep going.

KEOGHAN: Put your names on your team colors

and we'll start the picks.

Liz, how do you feel about picking for Dirty Hands?

Oh, I'm happy to be reppin' for Dirty Hands.

I hope we repeat Dirty Hands' team win,

and I hope that we bond as much as they did.

KEOGHAN: Now, Mikey, since you finished first,

you're going to get the first pick.

This is very important.

Because this could be the difference

between walking home

with just a few dollars in your pocket

or tens of thousands.

And if anybody wants to make a pitch

for a team that they want to be on,

now is the time to plead your case.

I'm clearly a savage, um, the underdog.

I'm not afraid to get dirty.

I've had blood on me.

You've seen me out there. I made it work. I finished.

SWIFTY: I'm bringing leadership.

Somebody that won't quit regardless to what happens.

ANGEL: I've worked with five guys.

There was a lot of heart out there.

A lot of strength, finesse.

-KEOGHAN: Angel! -LIZ: It seems like he's got a lot of focus.

I want him on my team.

ANGEL: I learned how to be tough

from being a boxer.

That's another reason why,

when I got into the construction field,

I was like, "This is definitely for me."

If you use your knowledge and experience,

you can win the fight,

and that's how I see it every time I walk

into a construction site.

We're going to go with Sarah, Phil.

KEOGHAN: All right. Sarah's in the house.

MIKEY: Sarah's badass.

SARAH: I'm a hard worker.

I'm lifting pipe all day.

A 12-inch pipe

can be up to a thousand pounds.

It's like you're working out at work,

and you're getting paid for it.

I think that's a win-win.

I know what you do.

You've got to stay cool under pressure.

I think that would be an asset to our team.

As a power line technician,

you have the physical capability,

and we have the mental fortitude.

And I'm confident in myself and what I can bring

is just phenomenal.

SCOTT: For the people who it isn't a normal day of work for,

that's amazing, what you did today,

and I respect you guys

so much for finishing. I could not go be a nurse.

I could not be a pilot.

You're a second generation

Whoa, that's awesome.

The steel industry in my area

is the big ticket, you know?

From East Chicago, Indiana.

What most people would call the worst place on Earth, man.

A lot of bad things happen there.

Just because it's the worst place on Earth to most,

it's the best place on Earth to me because

it made me who I am.

I've never been afforded the luxury of quitting.

I was 22 when I lost my ma.

So I had to look out for my little brother and sister.

I couldn't quit then.

Tough is someone that's determined to do better in life.

Tough is... Tough is Swifty.

Once I got my time in,

I became an official part

of the biggest union in the United States, the USW.

-Yeah, that's right. -And within three years,

I went from a labor grade 1 shoveler,

to a senior operator commanding the whole squad.

-SCOTT: Hey! -SWIFTY: So, you know...

-MIKEY: Sarah? Sarah? -Yeah?

How long you been welding?

Uh, only two years.

-Two years? -MERRYL: Only?

Yup. I was a police officer for ten years.

-MERRYL: Wow. -SARAH: Yeah, my dad

did a little welding, my mom's done

a little welding in art and stuff,

and I was like, "You know what?

I'm going to get my certifications."

-Wow. -MIKEY: I'm going to be honest with you guys.

I live paycheck to paycheck. I've got four kids.

I live in a two-bedroom apartment in Staten Island.

-And I need a house. -CELI: Let's go, Mikey.

And I need a house.

. That's what I'm doing this for, guys.

And when I talk about that, I get emotional.

-CELI: Of course. -Because my kids are my life.

-[sniffles] -CELI: Mikey...

You're going to make them proud, Mikey.

You've made them proud already.

-And I got you guys with me. -Yeah.

Both sides of my family have

roots back to the sea.

It doesn't feel like work.

It just feels where I'm supposed to be.

I love facing adversity and seeing if I can overcome it.

Because I'm going to. I might fail once or twice,

but it's not going to stop me.

I've worked in the shipyard-- welding, grinding, pipe fitting.

I was one of the lead carpenters.

-ZEUS: Oh, cool. -I knew you were my jack of all trades.

You've got to be on a boat.

Hell yeah. We got a squad.

I'm feeling better and better about this team, guys.

Yes.

I feel secure. I feel so secure now.

If we've got a challenge where we need to drive fast,

Today you're going to be put through

your first test as a team.

And we all know what's up for grabs.

The winning team also gets

today's Badge of Honor.

And the Badge of Honor is important why?

Because the team that collects the most of them

at the end of the team competition

will get a cash bonus prize of $60,000.

is built on a solid foundation, and look...

there just so happens to be two solid foundations

right here.

Today you're going to be building on one.

You're going to be framing up a garage.

-Yeah. You got it. -KEOGHAN: This is going to test you.

You're going to be doing everything by hand.

ZEUS: I hope somebody on my team

knows what they're doing,

because I have no experience with this.

KEOGHAN: When the work whistle blows,

grab a set of blueprints from the cab

and lay them out on the tailgate work surface.

Follow the plans closely, because every piece

of lumber has been pre-cut

and has to be placed in the exact spot

in order to get the job done correctly.

Check the measurements of your lumber as you work.

This is like a giant jigsaw puzzle.

Every piece has got its place.

You need to build four walls

and ten trusses.

Then piece them all together.

Savage Crew, who's going to be the crew boss?

-We're going to go with Scott. -You're gonna go with Scott?

winning this first challenge.

lets the other guys know that we're here

Angel and I both

have experience in carpentry,

but he's ran crew before,

and we're going to stick with it.

PATRICK: We're a well-rounded team.

Everyone's got different skills.

Hopefully we're going to be faster

and more efficient than Savage Crew is.

KEOGHAN: Let's line up, everybody.

We need to clear that middle area of all those studs.

MIKEY: Scott, what's our first move?

SCOTT: We're getting the four walls out of the way.

They're going to be the most difficult to build.

19 foot five, I need two of them.

I know that the three walls

that have openings in them

are going to be the hardest to build.

All four of them are different with different sizes

of wood that you're going to have to search for.

Once we get these walls built,

everything else is going to go really quick.

CELI: I'll measure!

SCOTT: Every 16 inches, make a mark.

MIKEY: Come on, let's go. We've got to roll, guys.

TARA: This is one of our trusses,

so keep it segregated from there.

Guys, I need you to find 20 feet.

Right now, I want to focus on the trusses.

They're going to be a lot quicker

so we can get that out of the way.

I feel confident because

Tara has lots of carpentry experience.

Like, if I was in a construction site,

I'd be the superintendent, she'd be my foreman.

Angel, center post right here, what's the length?

It's two-two.

Completely different approaches from the two teams.

Scott's got his team working on a wall.

Dirty Hands building the trusses first.

CELI: I've never built a garage, so Scott pretty much

picked me to be the apprentice.

In the nursing world,

we have nurses that are runners,

running around making sure everybody's okay.

I've done this during the pandemic,

so I know how to keep things organized and think ahead.

-CELI: Let's work! -MIKEY: Attagirl, Celi.

TARA: Flip it over. We still need to put them

-on this side so someone... -PATRICK: I'll work on it.

KEOGHAN: Yes. Dirty Hands have their first

of ten trusses completed.

ANGEL: We got ten of these. You guys got to move.

KEOGHAN: First big wall for Savage Crew

so far, at a frantic rate.

Savage Crew having a little bit of a stall

ZEUS: We're three trusses in. We're feeling good.

It looks like the other team is struggling.

SWIFTY: We've got to pay attention.

The nails are not going all the way in.

ZEUS: Mikey is hooting and hollering.

MIKEY: Watch your leg, Sarah. Watch your leg!

ZEUS: He's getting pretty crazy and emotional,

so I was trying to capitalize on this.

KEOGHAN: Six trusses done for Dirty Hands now.

TARA: All right, guys. Let's go.

Set up another one right here.

Argh, this is my bad.

I spend my whole life doubting myself.

I go and read a measurement

off the back of the truck,

and I come back and did I

remember the measurement right?

You get a lot of doubt.

You feel like you're behind.

I need two three-footers.

One more truss left for Dirty Hands.

Savage Crew moving on to their third wall,

but they're having measurement issues with their header.

SCOTT: Watch your heads, watch your heads.

-LIZ: Doing good. Keep it up! -KEOGHAN: Dirty Hands

-LIZ: Dirty, dirty, dirty... -TEAM: Hands!

KEOGHAN: They need to build four walls,

then they can put everything together.

We picked hard first,

and we're going to fly through the trusses.

We're fine.

MIKEY: You know how long it's going to take

-to put those walls together? -CELI: Okay, okay.

-SCOTT: One, two, three. -[grunting]

Right-- Ah!

MIKEY: Wait. What's going on here?

What's going on here?

-SCOTT: It broke. It shattered. -MIKEY: Oh, my God.

Come on. We're wasting time!

What am I doing, Scott?

SCOTT: Right-- Ah!

MIKEY: Wait. What's going on here?

KEOGHAN: The header for Savage Crew

was not nailed in properly.

This is only their third wall,

while Dirty Hands already finished all ten trusses

and are starting on their first wall.

Savage Crew, if you want to win this,

you need to pick it up.

MIKEY: Come on. We're wasting time!

What am I doing, Scott?

SWIFTY: So the first thing I'm thinking is, "Oh, crap.

Everything's off. Everything's wrong."

SCOTT: It didn't get nailed in.

Just do three or four at the end, and we'll be good.

Luckily, it was just that we had missed a couple of spots

nailing in the header, then we were able

to get the third wall taken care of.

-Let make sure this holds when we pick it up. -SWIFTY: Okay.

That's one hour of hard work, everybody. Let's get it done.

-SCOTT: Gentle. -KEOGHAN: Savage Crew

fixed that header and their third wall.

SCOTT: We're going to set it

so all we have to do is stand it up. Okay, last wall.

There's no windows, no doors. This is easy.

Savage Crew now onto their fourth wall, then they

have to get on with building ten trusses.

SCOTT: Six pieces per truss.

It's going to be a lot more simple than what we just did.

Keep going, keep going.

Dirty Hands they got their trusses done,

but I trust what Scott's saying.

Trusses are easier.

That's just fabrication work.

Even in the pipe world, you start with

the harder task, especially if you're fresh.

When you're tired, it's easy to just fabricate stuff.

KEOGHAN: Dirty Hands moving very,

very quickly with their first wall.

They can see a victory ahead.

They know there's $12,000 waiting for the winning team.

TARA: Okay, guys.

CELI: We've got to pick it up because they already finished a wall.

And then one foot, three and a half.

-TARA: Three and a half inches? -PATRICK: Right.

And then we'll make the opening for the windows.

Angel's-- he's doing his best. We've all got his back.

In my job, we've got a manager

who tells the dispatcher what to do.

The dispatcher tells the loader what to do,

then I deliver the packages,

so we've all got to work together to get the job done.

LIZ: We need to find our windows.

-If you know where those are. -ANGEL: I got them.

-Right there. -TARA: They're here?

-LIZ: It's all right, let's go. -We're moving this to the back.

Fourth wall built for Savage Crew.

Now they're going to building their trusses.

We'll see if Scott's strategy to start building

walls first was the right call.

CELI: So we're doing two trusses at a time.

Grab another one.

Dirty Hands, they're already done with their trusses.

We need to do two trusses at a time.

We've got to catch up.

MIKEY: I like it, guys. I like it.

LIZ: That's the measurement, right?

-It's flush? -TARA: No.

We've got to get that into it.

Dirty Hands getting stuck withthat first window, learning just

how hard those walls are to build.

TARA: You guys, this is way off. -

Having to do some remeasuring.

We've gotten to the wall with the windows now

and we're measuring from different ends,

and it's starting to mess us up a little.

We're three-three right now.

The window won't fit in because we need to put

that stud on this side you know what I mean?

'Cause we're doubling it up.

She's already nailing it down.

That's where they needed to tell me

we needed to get a half inch on either side

-because we're doubling it up. -ANGEL: We did, we did.

Yeah, but we weren't communicating really well.

I really haven't looked at our blueprints once or twice

getting the windows put in.

The wall orientation to where the truck is, it's flipped,

so you kind of have to mirror things in your head,

but we're trying our best here.

PATRICK: Three foot three inches from the top.

TARA: This is the bottom.

We need the three-three 2x4s or three-ones?

Three-ones.

I'm so used to working

with my crew and being there

for them when they need me.

I'm going to the plans, trying to memorize

the measurements, running back, making sure everybody is

nailing things right. I'm a hands-on person.

And I'm getting frustrated because I want to help my team.

-That goes here. -That's it.

After getting off to a rocking start,

Dirty Hands has been stuck on the framing of this window

for the last five minutes.

One and a half hours, everybody.

MIKEY: I got it. I got it.

-SCOTT: Heads up. -MIKEY: Heads up!

KEOGHAN: Savage Crew working on their fifth and sixth truss.

Meanwhile, Dirty Hands fixed their window issue

and are moving on to their third wall.

SWIFTY: The more the merrier.

SCOTT: Hold that corner square.

MIKEY: Done.

-LIZ: One nail per stud. -KEOGHAN: Dirty Hands

TARA: Where's our other studs is my question.

KEOGHAN: Coordinated team effort from Savage Crew.

CELI: We do not stop!

TARA: Let's just try and do our best.

We're okay. Just finish the job.

There's nothing you can do about the other team.

They could mess up at any point. A wall could fall down,

and then we're back in it, so let's just keep on pushing.

Now that fourth wall is gonna go up for Dirty Hands.

-SWIFTY: He's cramping. -MIKEY: Oh, my God.

-I'm cramping up up here. Ow! -SWIFTY: Come down.

MIKEY: We're two and a half hours into our job under this hot sun,

everybody starts to cramp up. My whole right arm

is killing me. I have two blisters on my knees.

And the cramps are unbelievable.

-Scott, you good? -SCOTT: No.

-He's cramped up, too. -[grunting]

KEOGHAN: Fatigue is setting in and Savage Crew

-grinding to a halt. -Scott, what's up?

What Scott did was pretty amazing.

He orchestrated a pipe welder,

a steelworker, a bricklayer

a pilot, and a nurse into making

a one-car garage within... under three hours.

That's legit.

We did as good as we could.

I should've been more assertive.

we have people that depend on us, we have dreams

MIKEY: I don't remember the last time I built a garage in three hours.

KEOGHAN: First of all, I just want to say

this was your first big test,

and today you guys brought it. Both teams.

I love the way that you supported each other.

-It looked like you had it. -We had a couple mistakes on the windows

and I think that's what held us up.

We just got to stick together.

This was the first challenge.

We learned our strengths, we learned our weaknesses.

I mean, they brought it, led by Scott.

Did you panic at all when you saw that they were

-building the trusses first? -Not at all.

I knew that the hardest part was going to be the four walls.

Different sizes, different openings.

You've got to get that done first.
