Now six teams remain, as they race to win

the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer RS,

a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two around the world,

a quarter of a million dollars cash

and the Amazing Race Canada.

On the east coast of Vancouver Island

dotted with ruggedly beautiful beaches,

this is Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Today this charming harbour city will act as the sixth

starting point as six teams fight to stay in the race.

Sarah and Sam won the last leg of the race,

and will depart first at 6:18 am.

Teams will now race from the Pacific coast

to the prairie province of Saskatchewan.

Surrounded by golden fields,

it's split by the South Saskatchewan River.

It's the Paris of the Prairies.

Today Sam and I have decided our word of the day

is gonna be "brave."

We've been fighting this whole race.

It's gonna take a lot of bravery to be confident,

as we lead this pack and hopefully stay up front.

Aarthy and Thinesh are right behind us,

and we tied the last leg.

There's definitely tension among the racers now.

We think something happened at the last Roadblock

with Dave and Irina that really did a number on the other team.

After the last leg of the race,

there's a little bit of tension around with Dave and Irina.

was working together to eliminate us,

and it really didn't feel good.

We weren't working with anybody.

everyone was like, "We could get them out right now."

All teams are now flying more than 1,200 kilometres

from British Columbia, via Calgary,

to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

When they land, they'll search for Canada's

brightest light.

- Amy, run! - Taxi!

University of Saskatchewan.

- Sir, we need you to go fast. - Go, sir!

Brightest light in Canada.

It's here, at the Canadian Light Source,

that researchers from around the world

study the science of health, agriculture,

and the environment.

This football-field-sized technological instrument,

the only one of its kind in the country,

contains a sycrotron that shines a light

a million times brighter than that of the sun.

It's here teams will find their next clue.

It's curtains for you.

Teams will now make their way southwest of the city,

and search for one of Nutrien's potash mining operations.

Potash is one of Saskatchewan's major exports,

and a natural earth fertilizer that allows people

around the world to grow food

and feed our families every day.

After teams suit up in full mining gear,

they'll travel one kilometre below the earth's surface,

where they'll have to hang this plastic ventilation curtain

in a straight line, to ensure proper airflow

for the safety of the miners.

Using a traditional spad gun, they'll nail the curtain

tightly to the rock ceiling, and make sure there are no gaps

for air to escape.

Then they'll need to pile loose potash

on the bottom of the curtain to guarantee

there is a tight seal.

Once the curtain is up and secure,

and the air is flowing in the right direction,

Larry the mine supervisor will give them their next clue.

We're going to a potash mine.

Potash is kind of like the heart of this province.

If we finish first at this challenge,

we can get back on the lead.

I want to finish on first try.

We're putting up a ventilation curtain,

which helps to keep some of the salt

from this conveyor belt away from the cleaner air.

As long as it's straight in front of it, with an overlap.

It's a special technique of how you

have to hold the plastic.

You have to make sure that you're anchoring it

at a proper distance, weight it at the bottom.

I just had to do this in our house

because we're renovating our formal living room.

One team member must memorize a complicated list of

19 square dance moves, and then step up to the Mic

to call the dance in time with the music...

from the members of the River City Squares.

Once their dosey-do is done right,

Caroline the square dance caller will give them their next clue.

Walk in Circles will have teams completely turned around,

as they search through the tight walls of this barnboard maze.

And did I mention it's massive?

Here, racers must find and collect four different

types of cobs of corn hidden in this complicated

barn board maze.

Once they find the only way out of the maze,

they'll trade their new-found corn for their next clue.

Let's just do the maze.

What I love about Saskatchewan is if you look down

the road, you can see that nobody's behind us

for at least a couple of kilometres.
