will act as the sixth

starting point as six teams
fight to stay in the race.

as we lead this pack

at the Canadian Light Source,

that researchers
from around the world

study the science of
health, agriculture,

and the environment.

This football-field-sized
technological instrument,

the only one of its kind
in the country,

contains a sycrotron
that shines a light

a million times brighter
than that of the sun.

It's here teams will
find their next clue.

way southwest of the city,

and search for one of Nutrien's
potash mining operations.

Potash is one of
Saskatchewan's major exports,

and a natural earth fertilizer
that allows people

around the world
to grow food

and feed our
families every day.

After teams suit up
in full mining gear,

they'll travel one kilometre
below the earth's surface,

where they'll have to hang
this plastic ventilation curtain

in a straight line,
to ensure proper airflow

for the safety of the miners.

Using a traditional spad gun,
they'll nail the curtain

tightly to the rock ceiling,
and make sure there are no gaps

for air to escape.

Then they'll need
to pile loose potash

on the bottom
of the curtain to guarantee

there is a tight seal.

Once the curtain is
up and secure,

and the air is flowing
in the right direction,

Larry the mine supervisor
will give them their next clue.

We're going
to a potash mine.

Potash is kind of like
the heart of this province.

If we finish first
at this challenge,

we can get back
on the lead.
