Previously on the Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition...
- Taxi! - Six teams raced...
- Yes! - ...to Winnipeg, Manitoba...
I love you, Winnipeg.
...where a detour kept some racers on their toes.
Ballet is very hard.
Ooh!
...and had others delivering the goods.
- Happy birthday... - ...to you.
A faceoff was a game of hit...
- Yeah! - Yeah!
...and miss.
While some were right on target,
Nancy and Mellisa fell short.
- Argh! - Who likes magic?
At a roadblock, Courtney mastered the illusion.
Magic.
And conjured up yet another win.
A natural hattrick.
But others were left feeling deflated.
We're gone.
And Martina waved her magic wand to clinch second.
Your best finish yet!
I can't believe it.
In the end, Nancy and Mellisa were stunned to hear
they'd been given a second chance...
This is a non-elimination leg.
Holy crap.
...allowing them to continue their journey together.
You're not free of me yet!
Now, six teams remain as they race to win
the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse Red Line,
a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two around the world,
a quarter of a million dollars cash,
and The Amazing Race Canada.
This is Manitoba,
and rising above the Prairies is its gleaming capitol city,
Winnipeg.
Right here in the heart of The Peg,
six teams will start this leg
of The Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition.
Taylor and Courtney won the last leg of the race,
and will depart first at 9:41 AM.
We're in first position again.
We're number one!
Fly to Prince Edward Island!
Teams must now fly over 2500 kilometres
to the windswept shores of Prince Edward Island.
PEI's beautiful beaches and colourful seaside villages
make this island province yet another paradise
in our home and native land.
Yay!
We're going to Prince Edward Island.
Now that we have four wins under our belt,
we've got the taste to win the race.
I am so excited.
Yay!
Yay! Yay!
I've never been to PEI!
This is our first time finishing second.
It feels great to be starting so high up.
If you believe you can win, it can happen.
I believe! I believe!
Oh god, you never know.
It's so cold.
Look, I can't even move my fingers.
Ahhh!
Prince Edward Island!
Get us out of this wind!
We've got to hustle back.
I want another win.
- Hi. - Hello.
We're flying to PEI.
Please show your boarding cards, your ID.
- Thanks very much. - Thank you.
- My pleasure. - Hello.
- How are you doing? - Congratulations.
Congratulations.
Did you guys come second?
We came second.
We created an alliance with Martina and Phil
back in Squamish.
Do you guys want to like help each other out?
Yeah, we're down.
Sibling power!
Siblings pact! Super siblings!
Now we're grooving.
Super siblings.
We're going to PEI.
That stands for Prince Edward Island.
We've got to keep thinking that we're gonna be number one.
If we don't have that set in our minds,
then why are we even here?
PEI, I think island, I think awesome people,
I think ocean.
I think easy to navigate.
We've been at the bottom of the pack
six out of seven times.
The biggest problem so far has been navigation.
We're ready to win a leg.
Fly to Prince Edward Island!
I've always wanted to go there!
We're gonna go fast and hard today.
We have a speedbump that we have to do,
so I feel some motivation under my butt.
Redemption.
- What? - Oh, my god!
Hi!
- Oh, they live. - Oh, my god.
Scandal.
Nancy and Mellisa are super nice.
We like to chat with them.
Don't like to race with them...
- because they're good at it. - Yeah.
Well, we are absolutely.
All six teams are now travelling over 2500 kilometres
via Toronto to Charlottetown, PEI.
Go, go, go! Go!
Once they touch down, they'll choose one of these
2018 Chevrolet Volts...
Let's go, baby. I like this.
Go downtown.
...and make their way to Beaconsfield Historic House
near downtown Charlottetown,
where they'll find their next clue.
Beaconsfield Historic House.
Let's go, yeah.
It should be... right over there!
Yo, the house is right here.
- It says search the waterfront. - Yes.
Let's get this. Let's get this.
Over here, over here!
Give me that!
Dylan just tried to steal my clue.
Route info. "Have a mice day."
Teams must now participate in a popular
Charlottetown scavenger hunt, Eckhart in the City,
based on Eckhart the mouse,
a children's book hero created by local author,
David Weale, and illustrator Dale McNevin.
Scattered around the heart of Charlottetown
are nine miniature bronze statues of Eckhart the mouse,
but only three of them are holding
a piece of their next clue.
Once teams locate all three mice with mini clues,
they can piece them together to reveal their next destination.
Excuse me, we're looking for a statue
of Ekhart the mouse.
He's only about that big.
- Oh, they're tiny. - Tiny, tiny, tiny.
I'm not too sure where they are.
Alright, wait, where are we going?
Yo, yo, yo! Hey!
What's that? What's that?
It's a mouse.
Are they gone?
We just found a mouse, but we can't find the clue.
The clues are divided into three parts,
so that means there's three mice that have a clue.
- Hi, guys. - Hi.
Where are you, little mouse?
Okay, what is this?
Eckhart the mouse.
There's one down here, and one down here.
Keep your eyes peeled!
Is that thing one of them?
Hey!
I thought they were gonna be big statues.
I didn't think they were actually gonna be the size
of actual mice.
Eckhart, where are you?
Search the heart of Charlottetown for the three
statues of Ekhart the mouse.
They are each holding part of your next clue.
- Let's go. - Okay, let's go.
Go, go, go! Have a great day!
- Love you all! - And win!
- Yeah, thanks! - We're lost, or...?
Yes, we are lost.
How is this an issue again?
I think that the stress of constantly
being at the back of the pack is starting
to grate away at our confidence.
Beaconsfield, it's right here.
It's right here. Speedbump.
Cut for a Cause.
In this speedbump, Nancy and Mellisa will have to
make their way to the Humble Barber,
and give a good cut for a great cause.
Right, Abby?
Each year, thousands of Canadians
from coast to coast to coast get their hair clipped
to make wigs for patients undergoing cancer treatments.
Today, Abby and Virginia are ready and waiting
to donate their locks to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Nancy and Mellisa must make their way to the Humble Barber
to give a good cut for a great cause.
Once they've completed this all-important cut,
Abby will give them their next clue.
There's a barber shop right there.
Is that it? Humble Barber?
This speedbump is important.
Five years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer
at the age of 45.
My mum died of breast cancer when she was 47,
so I have a personal connection here.
- Hi! - I'm Nancy.
Nice to meet you. I'm Mellisa.
- Nice to meet you. - What's your name?
- Abby. - Abby.
So what made you decide that you wanted
to cut your long, pretty hair?
My mom's best friend died in August of cancer.
Oh, okay.
And she was like a second mother to me and my brother.
- That's awesome. - That's so brave of you.
I had breast cancer,
so I'm so grateful that you're doing this
for all of us that have gone through this disease.
So thank you, honey.
When we're doing stuff like this,
it's way more than just a race.
It is an absolute honour to cut her hair.
She is my hero.
Really good. I'm so proud of you.
Sorry for this crazy lady crying in front of you too, right?
Wait for me.
Excuse me, excuse me!
Make the light.
- Hey. - Did you guys find it?
- Is this it? - Yeah, right here.
That is the smallest mouse ever.
How are we gonna find it?
It feels like we're just going in circles right now,
looking everywhere for these little tiny mice.
Think before we run.
Are we at the right place?
Yup. There it is.
Have a mice day. Search the heart
of Charlottetown for three statues
of Eckhart the mouse.
We're going into the hotel here to ask for a map.
Do you know where these statues of
Eckhart the mouse are?
That's where all of the statues are located.
Perfect. Thank you so much.
There's one here and here.
- Yeah. - Okay, got it?
What about this hotel?
Can you tell us exactly where they are?
So you're right here. Go right out the door...
There's one on the stairs, there's one on the corner.
Yeah, got it. Let's go.
Good call.
Hello, ladies.
Let's go as fast as we can.
- Oh, my gosh. - Come little mice!
- Okay, we've got to go up here. - One down.
We need two more.
We need to find the third mouse
to get the third clue to get out of here.
Where are you, buddy?
Eckhart the mouse, where are you?
Is that him? That's him!
Good job, girl.
Okay, so let's put them together.
Search for you next clue
near the corner of Route 6
and Graham's Road, but first...
say goodbye to Charlottetown!
Okay, you have the maps. Hold onto those, let's go.
I just don't want to get lost on our next spot.
Found it!
Okay, let's go, let's go, let's go.
Quick, out of here.
Keep your eyes peeled, babe.
Yeah, I see it. It's on the left.
Okay... my favourite teeny, little, mini clues.
Ah! I can't get it open.
Say goodbye to Charlottetown.
Hi, there.
We're looking for the corner of Route 6...
- ...and Graham's Road. - ...and Graham's Road.
Okay, that's on Route 2.
Yeah, I can get you a map.
Okay, please.
I wish I lived here because these people
are my type of people. They're good-hearted.
They're willing to help.
They're just my pace of life around here.
I love it here.
Let's get the heck out of here.
Thank you, kind people, so, so much!
- Thank you very much. - Thank you.
It's by this-- by this tall building.
- There we go. - Good job.
Let's go. Say goodbye to Charlottetown.
Graham's Road.
Okay, so we should maybe grab a map somewhere, hey?
Excuse me, gentlemen,
are we able to ask for directions?
We just have to get to Graham's Road and Route 6.
There's a small church first.
You can't miss the church
because it's a big, white church.
Get to the lights, and hang a right.
- Hang a right. - We're turning right.
Follow that road straight out.
Is it a church that we take a right?
No.
And you'll be right there at the circle.
We want to get to the corner of Graham's Road
and Route 6.
- Here. - This is Route 6.
There's something. There's a clue box right here.
Roadblock.
Who has a way with words?
In this Roadblock, racers will help serve up a delicious
Prince Edward Island feast. Mmm.
Here, at The Table, an old church that's been restored
into this intimate culinary studio,
racers will each be handed their own individual menu
of a four-course meal to be served.
The challenge is that the words to all four dishes
are scrambled.
Racers must correctly descramble
each of the four menu items,
and then deliver them in order,
from appetizer to dessert,
to these hungry locals.
Once they've deciphered and delivered their entire menu,
Chef Derek will give them their next clue.
I have a way with words.
Am I the only person here right now?
Hello...
I think I'm the first person here, which is very surprising.
We have been in first place a grand total
of zero times in this race.
Yay!
You must serve each dish in its order on the menu
from top to bottom.
So I'm gonna pick somebody to serve my items to.
- May I serve you my items? - Sure.
Something strawberry salad.
Strawberry... and spinach?
Oh, I know.
So is the first item cucumber and strawberry spinach salad?
That's correct.
Thank you so much.
Enjoy.
Alright, I'm gonna go sit back down and figure out my next one.
Who has a way with words?
You do.
I'm so excited she gets to do this challenge
because we have like little word search challenge
competitions, she kicks my butt, so...
You know what? I'm better at Sudoku.
Oh, we have to go down!
- We have to go down! - Okay.
- There's one here! - Okay, let's go.
- But we need one more. - Yeah, one more.
Tay, where are we at?
Oh, my god, what a lucky break.
Okay, so we have one left to collect.
We need to go in front of the province building or whatever,
which is like in here and to the right.
- It's right there. - That corner?
Maybe down there and over there.
So, let's go.
This is starting to cheese me.
Oh, man.
- No, there's no clue. - Dammit.
Cat and mouse game feels a lot like work.
Did we miss something?
- Where's this mouse? - Wait for me!
This challenge is kicking my ass.
Oh, so we have two clues
and we need one more clue to go.
- Oh, Oh, my god, I found it! - Yes!
Okay, open everything.
Open it. Say goodbye to Charlottetown.
Okay, goodbye, Charlottetown.
That's not feeling good.
Let's go. Oh, there's Phil and Martina.
Okay, which one are you looking for?
We got the one by the arts centre.
- Yeah. - We got that one,
and there's one more.
The billet, the ticket box one.
Did you go down the stairs?
- No. - Okay, let's go.
This way!
Oh, over here. Oh.
Phil and Martina, so much love.
We owe them big-time for that one.
- We owe them big-time. - Yeah.
I see it right there. Right there.
I see Mellisa and Nancy and Adam and Courtney.
Who has a way with words?
You do this.
I'm happy Mar is doing this roadblock.
She's really good at just focusing in
on what the task at hand is.
It's actually going fairly well.
So far I have... something, something with bread and butter,
and leek fried rice.
You know, I've got the main course,
I've got the dessert...
But now I gotta figure out
what the appetiZers are.
The first one... trobles mini coats?
Mini something.
Oh!
Argh!
Lobster, lobster!
Lobster mini tacos, please.
- That's correct. - A-ha-ha-ha!
- Finally! - There you go.
Lobster mini tacos.
Oh, I'd like a bite.
So I've got two down and two to go.
Poached blank with something garlic.
Garlic potatoes. What the heck?
This is gonna drive me insane when I find it out.
Look out for Graham Road, then.
So Graham's Road. Okay.
Now, this is Graham's. Do you see a route marker?
- Yeah, I see a clue box. - Roadblock.
- Do you want me to do it? - Yeah.
- Okay, I'll do it. - I'll do it, alright.
The only team missing is Dylan and Kwame.
I'm not sure if they took a wrong turn
or if they had trouble finding the third mouse, but...
They probably stopped for something to eat.
Please, little mouse, I need my clue.
Where are you?
We've only found two, and where there's two mice,
there's more mice, because he has brothers!
A mouse, yes! Woo!
Goodbye, Charlottetown.
Peace. Adios, dude.
I'm just getting really frustrated here.
I have one word left.
Poached lobster with blank garlic potatoes.
Oh. Rosemary?
Poached lobster with rosemary garlic potatoes.
That's correct.
Wow!
And your dessert is coming right up!
Chocolate lava cake with fudge sauce!
Here's your dessert.
It looks delicious. I want to have a bite!
Congratulations. You got your next clue.
Thank you so much! Good luck, guys!
Detour, suds or spuds?
In this detour, teams will get hands-on,
planting PEI's most famous crop...
or helping make a boutique beauty product.
Spuds or Suds.
In Suds, teams must find the Great Canadian Soap Company,
and milk enough goats' milk from their furry friends
to create this handmade soap.
Then, teams will head to this sampling station,
where they'll need to sniff 10 different types of soap,
and identify each correctly.
Once they've milked the goat and smelled the soap,
Katie will give them their next clue.
Spuds requires teams to make their way to
the north shore of the island, and locate Blue Bay Farms.
First, they'll have to till the soil of this massive field
to create four rows.
Then they'll need to gather potatoes and chop them
so that each piece contains an eye,
and plant the pieces approximately 4-5 inches apart,
to fill the rows they've tilled.
Once Randall the farmer feels they've planted
a bumper crop, he'll give them their next clue.
- Yeah, let's go do Spuds. - Okay.
We're leaving first, amazing!
I am the word scramble master!
Woo, woo, woo!
Aah!
I'm stuck on this longer word
with "mom" in it.
Oh, come on, Nancy. This is...
Made... Homemade!
Fresh Ceasar salad with homemade dressing, please.
- Yes! - Finally!
Gosh, I can't believe that!
Homemade.
Seared scallops and dessert.
- Here's your next clue. - Yeah, Spuds.
- Potatoes. - I can relate to farmers.
I've got a big garden at home, and we plant spuds all the time.
I see a bunch of cars over there.
Yo, I see it. It's here, it's right here.
We've just got to handle our business.
Dylan and Kwame just showed up.
Who has a way with words?
You do.
Oh, my god, this is so frustrating.
I have one word I can't figure out.
I just can't.
I can't figure it out.
She's probably getting in her own head.
I have a crisp garden salad
with blue cheese dressing.
- Awesome. - Would you like this?
There you go.
Can I please get
the whole Atlantic sea bass
- with steamed broccoli? - Okay.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
- There you go. - Oh, yes.
Thank you very much.
Served three, we need one more.
I have one more word left.
Main course, I don't know what it is.
I should have done this challenge.
Why didn't I do this challenge? It's culinary arts!
What does this sign say here?
Blue Bay Farms.
Bingo, baby!
- Let's get farmed up. - Hello.
Hey, welcome to Blue Bay Farms.
- Thank you so much. - Thank you.
Let's go look at the example really quick.
For this detour, we have to plant four rows of spuds.
We have to drag this between these two rows,
mark our four lanes,
and put our potatoes about a hoe-width between.
Boom, boom, boom, done.
Okay? Let's do this quick.
Put the sled on, drag it to the other side,
dig this three or four inches deep.
Physical labour is my jam.
Oh, yeah.
Clam chowder.
How do you make clam chowder?
I've never had clam chowder in my life.
Salmon lake fried cream?
No, not at all.
"Marinated," is that it?
Hey, classic lemon meringue pie.
- That's correct. - Thanks.
Hope you enjoyed your meal.
Congratulations, here's your next clue.
Awesome.
Phil, I'll take fresh eyes on this one.
Oh, my god, man.
Let's do this.
Martina and Phil, they help us in Charlottetown
finding the mice.
And I feel obligated to five him a little help back.
Cheeseburger. Cheeseburger.
Thanks!
We help them with the menu,
and now we're kind of even.
- Let's do Spuds. - Okay.
I don't want to milk a goat.
This is a cheeseburger
with salt and vinegar French fries.
- That looks good. - Here's your next clue.
- Thank you so much. - Aah!
- We'll do Spuds. - Let's go.
Teriyaki salmon and kale fried rice?
Okay.
Teriyaki salmon and kale fried rice.
That's right.
Salmon and kale fried rice.
Blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
- Yes, Mar! - Yeah, potatoes.
Let's go.
Taylor and Phil are partnered together,
and when Phil left the challenge,
I knew I had to hustle.
Right now we are dead last.
If Kwame doesn't come out in the next five minutes,
then I'll be worried.
Oh, is this it? Blue Bay Farms.
Mm-hm, mm-hm, mm-hm!
Good job.
So you think this is good?
Yeah.
Okay, so do you want me to keep going?
Hey, girls.
You ladies all look super cute in your overalls.
Thanks.
Are you flirting with the girls?
Am I digging myself in a hole?
I plant lots of spuds in my garden,
so I know exactly what we're gonna do.
Okay, we're gonna go on this side, this side.
Why not this side. It's windy?
Because we're gonna go this way.
Okay, I don't think it matters
- what side the tape is on. - It does.
Oh, come on. Tie it off.
Just put that on there and lock it.
- No, no. - I didn't--
Argh!
Do you want to read the clue?
You read the clue. You read it and I'll do it.
No, just tell me what to do
because that's what you like to do.
Now, come on.
If you don't know, then read the clue!
- I'm asking you! - No, follow the line.
Let's go.
Right now it's just me. Just me solo right now.
I have everything except for something clam chowder
with fresh bread.
I'm not the best.
I thought this was gonna be something else,
to tell you the truth. This is very hard.
I don't think we've been this far behind in the race yet.
Come on, Kwame. Let's go, baby.
We're not going home.
We're not. We're not.
Holy cow!
It's a potato mountain.
That's about all we need.
Come on, taters.
We have to cut some potatoes
so they're ready for planting. They have to have eyes
so they're able to actually grow a root.
Like, this is an eye, right?
- Yes. - So now we go into that
and cut up our potatoes. Let's go.
Okay, let's keep her going here.
Let's chop these freaking potatoes as fast as we can.
Okay, let's go.
Let's go plant a row, see how we do.
Let's give her, babe.
We have to have skin on all three sides, except for one,
- you think? - I'm just doing quarters.
Okay.
About a hoe-width apart?
A hoe-width, yeah.
There's got to be a way faster way to do this.
No, there's not.
Two other teams are here, so we are third!
With fourth hot behind.
Now we're going.
Let's go, let's go.
Yee-haw.
The pressure's on.
Let's go.
Babe, this has to be done fast.
Nancy and Mellisa could pass us.
Babe, we're going as fast as we can here.
Precision.
You've gotta make sure they're far enough apart
so that more spuds can grow underneath that soil,
and not be crowded by another plant.
Okay, babe, we need potatoes.
- I'm out. - Okay, let's go.
Let's run.
First place is on a tater-totter right now.
Leanne and Mar are here, Tay.
Essentially, we have every team
coming to this detour.
Oh, my god, it hurts.
Farming is not for the feint of heart.
Come on!
Come on! Come on!
Oh!
Oh, my god. Oh, my god.
This is hurting my lower back.
I'm not a farmer.
Yeah, we're almost done.
- Good. - You ready for a check?
Check, please!
Good job.
Yes, Randall! Randall, Randall!
Oh, frick.
Teams must now make their way to the historic town
of Cavendish and locate Crossfire Paintball.
Here amongst these peaceful rolling hills,
racers will take part in the latest in full-action sports
known...
...as zombie paintball!
Teams will take some heavy fire from a hoard of zombies
as they search this post-apocalyptic playground
for their next clue,
hidden in one of these multiple ammunition boxes.
Racers will be penalized one minute for every paintball hit
they've taken, which must be served
before they can keep on racing.
So, Mel, can we talk about that moment
with the potato thing?
I've planted many spuds in my life,
so I know you're asking questions,
and then you say, well, you hadn't read the clue.
Well, when I give you the clue to read,
then you don't want to read the clue.
You want me to tell you what to do.
I just think it's really important, like,
even though we get into race mode,
that we still respect each other, right?
Babe, we're not measuring anymore.
- Okay. - Get them in there.
That's it.
We're not using the hoe to plant anymore,
'cause that's just terrible.
Nancy and Mellisa are out of here.
Let's get going here.
- Should we get a check? - That's all.
Check, please!
Looks really good.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks so much, Randall.
Drive yourselves to the Crossfire Adventure Paintball
and dodge paintballs in search of your next clue.
- Beware, every hit will cost you. - Fun!
Let's go! Okay, good, good, good.
This is gonna be our first time racing for first.
Holy crap, I have no idea what this word is,
and right now I feel like I'm letting down our team.
I just have this one word.
Everything else I know.
I'm struggling with the word
that comes before clam chowder.
Something clam chowder with fresh bread.
Clam chowder...
Oh, my gosh!
"Traditional."
Traditional clam chowder with fresh bread.
- That's correct. - Go.
We've been here before.
We always find a way to fight back.
Already got dessert for you, bro.
I feel like I suck,
but I'm happy that I got it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Suds or Spuds?
Spuds. Let's get it.
We have to... cut the... potatoes.
Where did you get the potatoes?
Martina, look.
Open your eyes. That was pretty funny.
Yeah, so funny.
So potato funny.
Potatoes.
Blue Bay.
It's time to do what we do.
Use our muscles, and let's get out of here.
Time to go to work.
I need your help with this,
and then we can go cut potatoes.
Hopefully, we can get out of here quickly.
Welcome to Blue Bay Farms.
How you doing?
Dylan and Kwame just showed up.
They're gonna plow through this really quickly,
- so we have to hurry. - No pun intended.
Pick up the shovel and dig deep,
dig deep.
I'm trying my hardest to like keep up,
but I'm not feeling good at all.
This race is difficult.
It's mentally exhausting, physically exhausting.
Your body hurts.
We just have to keep staying positive.
Come on, Martina.
We're so close. We're so close.
It would be so nice to get out of here next.
Down to the wire on these tates.
Check!
- Good job. - Thank you!
- Yeah. - Right on!
Thanks, Randall!
Can I get a check?!
- Nice job. - Oh, thank you.
- We love potatoes! - Thank you, Randall.
I have never seen so many potatoes in my life.
We need to get moving
because Dylan and Kwame are stronger than us.
They can carry more potatoes than us, which makes me nervous.
Let's grab the potatoes, Have to plant some potatoes.
Some people are gonna get mashed potatoes.
People are getting some French fries.
Maybe some scalloped potatoes.
Yes, sir.
I want to be your teammate.
I want to work with you.
I just want us to do this nicely.
- Okay, I get that. - Yeah?
I know you get it, I know.
I know you get into race brain, and so when I ask questions--
- Now can I say something? - Sure.
I'm not the analytical type.
I'm the type that wants to get it done.
Perfect.
And this is how it's gonna get done the first time.
I just think you can communicate it
a little bit nicer.
I'm not the analytical type.
I'm the type that wants to get it done,
and this is how it's gonna get done the first time.
I just think you can communicate it
- a little bit nicer, okay? - Okay, I will.
- I'm sorry. - Forgiven.
We have never spent this much time together, ever.
We're just trying to find our way.
I think we're working great,
especially because we didn't have an existing relationship
coming into this journey.
Crossfire Paintball.
Each time we're hit, we get a time penalty.
I've never played paintball before.
We've gotta go.
1, 2, 3, go.
Run, run!
- Aah! - He looks so scary!
These zombies are honing in on us.
Ow!
Especially because somebody's screaming.
Oh, oh!
This is scary.
I didn't think they were gonna be zombies!
Oh!
Paintballs don't hurt that much.
- Let's go. - Ew, I don't like it.
Aah, zombies!
No!
This is kind of scary, right?
Come on, come on!
Oh! Oh!
Ahh! Ahh!
Get down low! Get down low!
Ah, I'm scared!
We're racing for first place, here.
- Aah! - This is crazy!
Aah!
Ow!
Oh, right there. I see it.
Got it!
Keep your eyes open for a clue box.
Come on, come on, come on!
Aah! Oh, my god, my ankle!
What happened? Your ankle?
- You okay? - I'm okay.
We get 15 hits,
which means we have a 15-minute time penalty.
I have no idea what we're looking for.
We're looking for clue boxes.
Got our clue. Let's go.
Aah!
Where the heck are they coming from?
Babe!
Sixteen minutes now that we have to wait.
I'm a lover, not a fighter.
Time is precious right now.
I just have to finish this row.
Leanne has to finish hers and we're good.
This is a race against the cheerleaders right now.
Just keep going. Finish those ones.
I feel like yours are a little too close to each other.
- Awesome. - Good?
- Good. - Check, please.
I think they're gonna check.
Looks pretty good, guys.
Randall, thank you.
- Are we almost there? - Yeah, I'm done.
I was really hoping it was just a race to Jon,
'cause exhaustion is just kind of hitting me.
Check, please!
Sorry, guys, but the spacing's off.
We have them too close together.
I've never played paintball.
We are gonna get lit up.
Alright, dude, let's do this!
I'm excited.
Oh, my god!
We're gonna eat these.
Ah, this is crazy!
Ow!
Martina and Phil are here.
- Hey. - We're ready.
We must be getting close.
Drive yourselves to Cavendish Beach
and search for Jon at your next pitstop.
Teams must now make their way to Prince Edward Island's
National Park, and locate Cavendish Beach.
This stretch of iconic beach
will act as the 8th pitstop
on the Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
- Want me to drive? - No.
- I'm good. - Sure?
Yes, let's go!
- Let's go see Jon. - Yeah.
This is gonna be like the happiest I'll ever be
to see Jon.
Cavendish, Cavendish Beach, okay?
We are racing for first place right now.
Now we've just got to find Jon at the mat.
Cavendish Beach. Cavendish Beach.
We're looking to get to Cavendish Beach.
We're in a big hurry, so we want to go fast.
Cavendish Beach.
Yes!
Oh, my god, Nancy!
Bye, thank you!
We want to get first place bad.
Over here!
Over here!
- Come on, ladies! - Oh, my god.
Welcome to beautiful Cavendish Beach,
in Prince Edward Island National Park.
Thank you.
Nancy, Mellisa, you're team number one.
Woo-hoo!
You have won a trip for two to Istanbul, Turkey.
Oh!
From last to first.
That's incredible, with a speedbump!
- I know. - With a speedbump.
We're learning to communicate.
We're learning to trust each other.
We're gonna continue to see us build on our strengths.
We've got a chance of winning The Amazing Race Canada.
That's pretty surreal.
I am so proud of you.
Aw, thank you.
- Woo! - There he is!
Courtney, Adam, you're team number two.
Yes!
We started this leg in second last place.
We know that we're making our way up,
and we are definitely a first place team.
We're going to win the most important leg of this race.
You mark my words.
Ow!
Check there. Court!
Court! Right there.
We're good.
Woo-hoo-hoo.
Oh, boy.
We've finished.
Yeah, I mean we're good.
Ow.
Where are we going?!
Aah! Phil!
- There's the clue. - Let's go!
You know what? I once got a paintball--
two tickets for my birthday.
I let it just expire.
I'm hoping we can make some time up by not getting hit
because we cannot afford any time penalties right now.
I'm feeling a little nervous.
We don't really know what we're walking into.
We're small, so hopefully, they can't hit us.
I hate having my face covered like this.
I'm already feeling claustrophobic
when we're putting on our masks.
I feel caged in.
Okay, slow down.
Ah!
That thing is so creepy.
Ah! Go, go, go!
I don't know what we're looking for.
I'm literally gonna have an anxiety attack.
I don't know what we're looking for.
Okay, we need to get out of here.
I literally can't do this.
Oh, my god!
Like I mean I can't.
You can't?
You can't? You can't?
I'm really claustrophobic,
and I hate feeling enclosed.
As soon as we went onto that playing field,
I just instantly start having an anxiety attack.
Ahh!
I don't know what to do!
I'm really claustrophobic, and I hate feeling enclosed.
As soon as we went onto that playing field,
I just instantly start having an anxiety attack.
I can't keep this mask on!
I'm so claustrophobic!
Do you want to take a penalty for it?
Oh, my god! I need to take this mask off!
You can't? You can't?
You can't?
I can't do this.
We're done. We're penalty.
I can't be in here.
I can't, Mar. I'm sorry, I can't.
I literally can't breathe right now.
I can't. I can't be in there.
We're taking a penalty.
Leanne and Mar took a time penalty.
I am shocked.
I can't be inside of that.
Drive yourselves to Cavendish Beach
and search for Jon at your next pitstop.
Warning, the last team to check in may be eliminated.
Okay.
We're leaving that challenge in third place.
Third.
Yeah, but Phil and Martina are leaving
at the same time.
We're going to see Jon now.
Let's go see Jon.
There is Leanne and Mar right behind us.
They took a penalty.
Oh, it's gorgeous!
Taylor, Courtney, you're team number three.
Good job, Court.
We've gotta hurry up.
I'm almost done this row.
Make sure the spacing is right,
and we can get out of here.
Alright. Check, please.
I'm praying this is good enough
so that we can just catch up to the other teams.
Congratulations.
- Thank you, brother. - Thank you so much.
- Appreciate it. - Appreciate it, man.
- Appreciate it. - Alright.
Come on, let's go.
Let's go, baby.
Bye, now.
Okay, time to close ground.
Leanne and Mar, Martina and Phil,
you're the fourth team to arrive, ladies,
and you are the fifth team to arrive.
But because Leanne and Mar failed to complete the zombie
paintball challenge, ladies,
it is a two-hour penalty,
which means Martina and Phil, you are team number four.
Leanne and Mar, your time serving your penalty
starts right now.
It's okay, it's okay. I'm not mad at you.
I feel totally confident with this decision.
Anything can happen on this race at any point.
A wrong turn can bring you from first to last.
Well, we are in last, but it's not over yet.
I can dodge paintballs, and I can get clues.
I'm a receiver.
I'm used to running away from things.
Time to go to work.
Easy money. Let's go!
- Oh, shoot! - Down, down, down, down!
Yo, come, man! Okay, go!
- Ow! - Come!
Okay, where's the clue box?
That's it right here!
Aah! Watch out, watch out!
Get out! Come on!
Oh, my god!
That was so fun.
I love that kind of challenge.
We've just gotta get this 14 minutes over,
rip our clue.
Hopefully this says find Jon
and we'll get there as fast as possible.
Stay positive.
Drive yourselves to Cavendish Beach
and search for Jon at your next pitstop.
Warning, the last team to check in may be eliminated.
We're not going home today, dude.
Cavendish Beach, let's get it.
I just want to get to the mat, and he tells us
we are the fifth place team.
Cavendish Beach.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's go.
Watch out!
Yo!
Dylan and Kwame,
you're the last team to arrive,
but because Leanne and Mar are serving a 2-hour penalty,
you are team number five.
You are in it by the skin of your teeth.
100%.
Our heart goes out towards the girls,
because we always thought we would see them in the finale.
But, at the end of the day, it's a competition,
so we've got to focus on us.
Ladies, I can check you in now.
Leanne and Mar, it has been an awfully difficult day,
and I am sorry to tell you this.
You have been eliminated from the race.
We said from the beginning,
if we went home the first leg, or we made it till the end,
we'd be proud. I'm so proud of us.
And these experiences have moved us so much forward.
We've grown so much as individuals, as friends.
Leanne is my heart and soul.
There is no way that I would have been able to complete
the first leg without having her by my side.
Mar was the first and only person
that came to my mind
when I realized this was a heroes edition.
And I just couldn't have run this race with anybody else.
I'm looking forward to us looking back at this journey
and experience when we are 85, sitting on rocking chairs,
waving our canes at the young'uns.
We know we're going to be friends for a long time.
This has brought us so much closer.
I love you.
Next time on The Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition...
Mexico City!
...teams head south of the border to Mexico City...
Ole, ole, ole!
Oh no!
...and things take a dramatic turn...
Oh!
...as a challenge has teams acting out.
Oh, no.
A detour brings out the dead.
You can use bigger brushes.
Stop.
And the roadblock...
- Uh-oh. - Watch out!
...tosses racers into turmoil.
No! Argh!
I feel terrible.
