Previously on the Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition...
Toronto!
...seven teams travelled through the streets...
- There, there, there! - Excuse me!
...and subways of Toronto.
Excuse me on your left.
Do you mind if I sit beside you?
The Chevrolet Pack and Park challenge had teams competing
to get to the U-turn...
Caution, there is a double U-turn ahead.
If we don't get there first, we'll be U-turned.
...where most teams felt comfortable enough
to book it right past.
We're in first place. There's no need to U-turn.
We're not gonna U-turn anyone.
We're gonna let everybody run their own race.
But scanning the city proved difficult
for Adam and Courtney...
People are passing us.
...pushing them to the back of the pack once again,
leaving them with a difficult decision to make.
Oh my god, this is terrible.
Sorry, guys. Oh my god, I feel sick about it.
- We need an instructor! - We came to slay, baby.
A detour had teams feeling out of step...
Some work to do. Some work to do.
...allowing Taylor and Courtney to groove their way
to a second straight win...
Aah!
You guys are team number one.
...and their third victory of the race.
At the end of the night, Zainab and Monica
could not resurface...
Yeah, that sucks.
...after being torpedoed by the U-turn.
This time, you have been eliminated from the race.
It's all good.
Now, six teams remain as they race to win
the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse Red Line,
a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two around the world,
a quarter of a million dollars cash
and The Amazing Race Canada.
We're now past the halfway point of the race,
and Toronto will be the starting point,
as six teams continue their adventure
on The Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition.
Taylor and Courtney won the last leg of the race...
Yeah!
...and will depart first at 4:42 PM.
Fly to Winnipeg, Manitoba!
Teams will now fly on two separate flights
from Toronto to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Once a rail town in the middle of the country,
Winnipeg is now known as one of Canada's premiere centres
for arts, culture, and technology.
Only three teams may travel on the first flight.
- Yeah, so we've gotta go. - Aah!
We need to get to the airport ASAP.
Before, it was just about having a good time with
Taylor and now it's about winning for me.
I've had a taste of it three times.
For me, I need to win.
We have like that killer winning mentality,
which I didn't know we were going to have.
Fly to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Right on! Woo!
There's one right there.
We have come in second four times.
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
We want to be in the first three teams
to get on that first flight.
We're the first people here.
Hey, how's it going?
Where are you flying today?
Winnipeg, Manitoba.
We're on the first flight.
We got our ticket to the Peg.
Let's go.
Let's make sure we're on the right flight, the first one.
Pretty lucky.
It's so important to get a cab right now because
we need to be on the first flight.
Third place is our highest finish, and we are pumped.
Yeah. It's time for number one.
Taxi!
Taxi! Taxi!
- Taxi! - No!
- Go, please leave! - Taxi!
We don't know where to get a taxi here.
Yeah, babe.
Oh, cheerleaders. We've gotta get going.
Only three teams may travel on the first flight.
They're still waiting for a cab.
Taxi!
If we can get there before them,
we will be hopefully the third team on this first flight,
which gives us a huge advantage.
We have now felt what it feels like
to be at the back of the pack. It absolutely sucks.
We're not letting it happen again.
Get in! Please, go fast!
We need to be on that first flight out.
It's right here. Thank you!
Airport, Pearson.
Let's go, let's go. Where is it?
Where's the counter?
Keep going. Keep going.
We have a flight, Air Canada to Winnipeg.
We are on that first flight.
Yes! Thank you.
Safe flight.
- Hey, guys. - Hey.
- Hi. - Hey... hi.
Are we on the first flight, please?
This flight is full, unfortunately, sorry.
- Oh, man. - Okay.
All teams are now travelling on two
separate flights from Toronto to Winnipeg.
On the first flight are Taylor and Courtney, Nancy and Mellisa,
and Leanne and Mar.
On the second flight are Martina and Phil, Dylan and Kwame,
and Courtney and Adam.
We're on the second flight,
so we're a little bit disappointed,
but kind of what we expected, leaving in fifth.
Looks like the earlier flight's boarding.
When they land, teams will choose one of these
2018 Chevrolet Colorados ZR2's and drive themselves
to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights
where they'll find their next clue.
- Let's go, Mar. - Hustle, Hustle.
Go to the closest truck!
Over here.
Good job, honey.
Make sure I get this right.
This is downtown.
This is Main Street, Leanne.
And to the Canadian Museum of Human Rights.
Oh, I see it right there. This is it, Tay.
- The girls are here. - Yeah.
- It's this way. - Yeah.
Oh!
- Route info. - Put things right.
Teams will now take a walk through history,
surrounded by those who have and continue to protect
human rights for all.
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights
documents the struggle and fight for preservation
of human rights here in Canada and around the world.
Once here, each team will find a board with 18 quotes
from prominent human rights activists,
and pictures of each person quoted.
Racers will have to search the museum's 11 galleries,
spread out across 6 floors, to locate the white plaques
containing these quotes, then learn the quotes,
and make their way back to their boards
to correctly match the names and faces
of each activist to their specific quote.
Once each human rights hero has been correctly quoted,
Maureen will give them their next clue.
Oh, here it is. Here we go.
See if you recognize anything.
Oh, wow, there's tons.
Every face is someone who's had some kind of major influence
in human rights in the world,
and I think that's something pretty remarkable.
But we're not historians, and we don't know who said what.
I'm gonna try and pick some key words in each one.
Let's kill it.
And we start just sprinting around the museum,
looking for quotes on walls to match up with the faces.
Oh my god. Just like ramp after ramp.
- Okay, this is one. - Yup.
John Diefenbaker. Okay, let's do that one.
Yeah, there you go.
I think that's how it works, yeah.
Now, boom, boom, boom, boom. Okay.
Like every other human institutional endeavour,
justice is an ongoing process.
So justice, McLaughlin.
Justice McLaughlin.
Let's just get it... before we forget.
This is a memory challenge.
I do my best to stay focused, but I'm getting up there in age
where the memory's not quite as good as it was.
Argh!
Okay, you got that?
Mandela, great generation.
All we have to do is remember the last few words
of their quote, run back down,
and stick their picture right beside that quote.
We're missing 7.
Trudeau, constitution. Okay, another one.
We have 8 left.
It's too bad we're running through this museum
because it looks really interesting.
I'm like getting a real workout in.
I'm looking as much as I can.
No, that is okay. You're doing great.
- No stress, okay? - Okay.
Calm, cool, and collected with the maps.
- Left here or next? - Left, left.
We're fighting for last place with two other teams.
Drama!
- Got it. - We've got this.
Check, please.
Every single person on the board behind us is a hero.
They fought for human rights.
They are our idols.
You're correct.
Thank you so much.
Detour, Tights or Bites.
In this detour, teams will get a chance to be on point
with Canada's oldest ballet company.
Or take to the front lines of a tech startup
that's feeding the nation.
It's their call, Tights or Bites.
The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is renowned for its captivating
style and technical excellence.
In Tights, teams will need to tap into these
refined trademarks, as they learn the steps
to a short sequence
from Tchaikovsky's classic ballet, Swan Lake.
When ready, racers will hit the stage,
and perform to the critical eye
of the ballet's artistic director.
Once the artistic director feels their dance
deserves a standing ovation,
he'll give them their next clue.
A Prairie startup taking North America by storm,
Skip the Dishes is an app that connects local restaurants
with hungry customers.
In Bites, teams will travel to Skip the Dishes delivery
logistics centre, where they'll receive a smartphone
loaded with the Skip the Dishes courier app.
Using the app, racers will need to navigate the streets
of Winnipeg, pick up and deliver two food orders.
Thank you.
Once both orders are completed,
racers will be contacted by Skip the Dishes
to see if they've received positive reviews
- from their customers. - Congratulations.
Once they've earned two positive reviews...
...Kendall will give them their next clue.
Let's do Tights.
- Yay! - Woo-hoo!
Yes! Call us the comeback kids!
We are leaving in first!
- Check. - Check, please.
You got it right.
Detour. Tights or Bites?
Ballet is tough. I'm not flexible.
Dance, dance, dance, dance.
- Ooh! - Okay, let's go dance.
All the other teams are here.
Oh, crap. So we better hurry.
We have 7 more people to find.
Change the world... Anne Frank.
This is interesting.
This is a bit of a maze.
Memory is not my thing, but he's good at it,
so we're just gonna hopefully get ahead by running.
Zero quotes so far.
It's gonna be hard to run back and forth.
That's gonna be the most time consuming part.
This museum is massive.
We need to be efficient with our time.
You have these ones, right?
- Yeah. - We divide and conquer.
We're like you remember these names.
I'll remember these names.
Nelson Mandela, Anne Frank
and Martin Luther King. Okay, let's go.
Okay, Nelson Mandela generation.
Wonderful, Anne Frank is wonderful.
Martin Luther King, repent.
Okay.
Do you see the Royal Winnipeg?
It's gotta be right here.
I've always wanted to be a ballerina.
Yay!
- Are you ready? - Yeah.
I feel so pretty!
We're gonna start off with a pas de chat,
which is the step of the cat.
Jump, jump, jump, jump.
Just step, step, and then your toe
and your heel come together.
And... Oh!
Ballet is very hard.
What's it called?
The Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
It's this building here.
Dressing room.
Oh my lord!
I'm putting a thong on.
It had a triangle,
and it had this string that went up your arse.
Thongs aren't very comfortable.
Taylor and Courtney are here,
and Taylor is looking so fab in his ballet tights.
The first step we're doing is called a pas de chat.
That's a pas de chat. Okay?
13 good.
14, 15, 16.
Let's go onto the next little section.
Right, left, right, left.
Oh.
Right?
Check, please.
- Congratulations. - Yes.
Let's do Bites. Let's go.
Wait for me. Wait for me.
We got there in the second grouping,
and we're leaving third, so we moved up a spot.
I saw Phil and Martina just leave.
We've got to step up. Let's go.
What do we do here, babe?
When I saw Martina and Phil leave before us...
You remember two. I'll remember two.
...I start to question our strategy here.
This sucks.
Nelson Mandela.
Ready?
This is taking way too long.
Do we want to ask somebody
if they want to work together with us?
This is a tough one.
This might be one challenge
where working together would be very helpful.
Do you guys want to work together?
You guys want to look at our board?
- Yeah, let's. - Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Check theirs out.
Four minds is gonna be better than two.
We have this here, babe.
LeBlanc?
- Oh. - Check, please.
Can we get a check, please?
Congratulations. You got it right.
Yes! Let's do it, babe.
Should we have fun and do the ballet?
Yeah. Sure.
Nancy and Mellisa worked with Adam and Courtney.
Okay, you guys want us out?
Cool. We'll see about that.
We're good, we're good. But they're not far off.
Skip the Dishes. We gotta go, we gotta go.
8th floor.
Hi. Skip the Dishes.
- Hi, we're here. - We're here.
You must achieve two positive customer reviews
before returning to the Skip headquarters.
I am stoked.
I used this app all the time as a customer.
Now I get to be the other side.
Hi.
We're here to pick up an order for Skip the Dishes.
Okay, thank you.
We just picked up our first order,
and now we're gonna go deliver it
to some happy customer.
Good job, yes.
- Can we try? - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We're gonna make an attempt.
Hopefully only one attempt, and then we're getting out of here.
6, 7, 8...
Congratulations, you got it.
- Yay! - Good job!
Faceoff!
Drive yourselves to the Royal Canadian Legion
and beat another race team at a friendly game of darts
to earn your next clue.
Teams must now make their way
to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4.
Started over 90 years ago, right here in Winnipeg,
the Royal Canadian Legion is open to all Canadians to join,
and to help honour and support those who served.
Here, teams will compete in a head to head challenge
that could dramatically change their position in the race.
This is the faceoff.
Teams will need to take aim and throw down
in a head to head game of darts.
Ooh!
Teams will faceoff in an elimination style game of darts,
attempting to be the first team
to hit all 20 segments of the board.
If a team hits the bullseye, they get to eliminate
any two segments of their choice.
The team that hits all the segments on the board first,
will win the faceoff.
And a legion member, and Afghanistan war veteran,
Dan Merlin, will make them members of the legion
and give them their next clue.
The team that loses the faceoff
will have to wait for the next team to arrive
before they can play again.
And the last team at the faceoff
will have to wait out a predetermined penalty
before they can keep racing.
I'm just hoping our dart skills
are as good as our ballet skills.
Yeah.
Check, please.
- Great. - Okay, let's go.
- Bites. - We're doing delivery,
'cause really and truly, I do not want to dance.
Facts.
That's part of the special instructions
for the restaurant.
These are very important to follow.
Once you are ready to drive, you slide "ready to drive."
- Okay. - Let's go.
We... got a ticket?
There's a ticket on our front windshield.
Stop it.
We got a parking ticket on our windshield,
but it is for zero dollars.
The people here are so friendly.
Warnings for parking.
People are easy-going.
I love you, Winnipeg.
I'm looking for the ballet.
To the right.
Right here. I'm totally out of my element.
Good, yeah.
And then again, 1, 2, 3, 4.
Awesome.
Who knew I was a ballerina?
Which leg are you kicking first, left or right?
- Left. - So this,
- and then put it in front. - Step forward, yeah.
Okay, I'm putting it behind.
7, 8, up, and down.
- Yeah! - Right on.
Okay, so it's just getting
that all put together now.
Nancy and Mellisa have come, and they're almost done.
They're picking up this challenge alarmingly fast.
Oh, man.
We're very nervous about them passing us.
Attempt. Attempt.
Is there a crowd?
Yes.
Faceoff. You're good at darts.
Okay.
Found the legion.
This is our first faceoff.
Hey, guys. Welcome to St. James branch.
Thank you!
You have to take a seat
and wait for the next team to arrive.
Ah, okay!
It's like... the first or second house.
Does it say the actual address?
- 508. - 504...
Here's 508.
For this challenge, you need to read all the details
in the Skip the Dishes app, and make sure you execute.
"Call and I'll meet you at your car."
She's gonna meet us at our car.
- Hello? - Hi there.
This is Skip the Dishes. We have your delivery for you.
Okay, I'll be right out.
Thank you.
Hi, Nina! How are you doing?
And I hope you like Mediterranean food.
- Awesome. - There you go.
- Yay! - Yay, enjoy your food.
Thank you. Love the hair!
Right here, "A Little Pizza Heaven."
We're here to pick up order...
6069 for Skip the Dishes.
Please wish her a happy birthday.
Her name is Fran.
Got our order, that pizza.
We're just gonna make our first delivery
at 93 Hill Street.
We're going to wish her a happy birthday.
Yeah.
Okay, let's keep going!
We sang Happy Birthday to Fran.
She seemed quite excited.
Skip the Dishes time.
People are hungry, man, and we gotta deliver.
Gotta feed the people, man, feed the people.
Oh, I'm messing up. Sorry.
It's okay. Smile.
You need to do a little bit more work.
I was off the entire time.
- There it is. - Oh, St. James Legion.
Alright, let's go play some darts.
- Hey! - Hey, guys.
Welcome to St. James branch.
Thank you.
You guys ready to play some darts?
- Yeah. - Awesome!
We are facing off against Taylor and Courtney.
Take a deep breath.
It's okay.
You've got this.
Hand/eye coordination is everything in darts.
You have to make sure you're throwing this dart at the number
that you haven't already hit.
Hm, I got 18 twice.
I had a dart board since I was 12 years old.
Leanne and Mar might have their dancing,
but Court and I, we got the darts.
"Court and I"? I've never even played darts.
I got darts.
- 1... - 2, and 3, 4.
Okay, we're gonna get it.
Congratulations, you got it.
Yay!
Faceoff!
Right on!
Nancy, you looked phenomenal.
You're so fit.
What about my ass?
I couldn't see it. There was a tutu.
- 395 River. - 395, this is--
Sorry, 595, 595.
This is right.
Hello?
Hi, this is Skip the Dishes.
We're right at your door.
Thanks, I'll come right down.
Is this 595?
How come it says 605?
595 is over there.
- Come on. - Help me.
Help me.
Where are we going? Oh, my god, where?
Did he come out yet?
595 is over there.
- Come on. - Help me.
Help me. Where are we going?
- Did he come out yet? - I don't know.
Entrance at north side of building.
- This is the north side. - How do you know?
Because I looked at my compass.
Maybe north is this way.
Oh, I see a guy. How are you doing?
Are you hungry?
- Here's your pizza. - Awesome.
- Thanks. - Here you go.
- Thanks. - I think it went well.
We were standing at the wrong building.
- Oh, they're calling. - Oh, thank god.
Hello?
Hey, this is Skip the Dishes calling here.
Congratulations, you have successfully earned
- two positive customer reviews. - Thank you.
So you can return to Skip to receive your next clue.
Go up the elevator!
Hi, we're back!
Yay!
Rarr! Faceoff.
We are gonna play some darts in a faceoff.
- Yes! - How good are you at darts?
I don't know, but I love throwing things.
This has gotta be it.
Hey.
We're in third place.
Taylor is good at darts,
but this is anybody's game.
It's okay.
Four, okay.
- What else? - 9.
9.
Yes! Good job.
- We just need to get 8. - Yep.
Nice!
Good job.
And on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion,
we'd like to offer you a Legion membership.
Thank you so much. Thanks, everyone!
Route info.
Drive yourselves to the Forks Market
and search inside for your next clue.
We're leaving first.
First!
Now we have to play Nancy and Mellisa.
I'm gonna try for 4 and 3.
Let's see if I can do it.
Augh.
- Oh! - Oh, so close.
- It's okay, girl. - Dang it!
What a waste of a turn!
Is this it? Okay, let's go.
Wait for me! Thank you.
It's been a few years since I last played,
but it was fun.
I had fun, so I'm looking forward to having some more fun
in this challenge.
We've got your order here.
Taste of the Mediterranean.
- Amazing. - Bye, girl.
- Alright, bye, guys. - Have a good day.
- Have a good one! - Thank you.
Yo, hello!
This is Skip the Dishes.
You've had two successful orders.
Okay! So we're heading back now!
- Skip the Dishes... - Here we come!
Hello, this is Travis.
Travis, hey, man. I have your order
down at the front door. It's from Skip the Dishes.
- Awesome. - Hey, what's going on?
- Hi! - There you are.
There's a bottle of water in there for you.
- Awesome. - Alright, have a good day.
- Thank you so much. - Enjoy.
Take care.
Give us the good news, Skip.
You've had two successful deliveries.
We love Skip the Dishes.
Yeah, we love Skip the Dishes.
We want to leave this faceoff in second place.
You got it, babe.
Good.
Way to go.
You got this. You got this.
16 or a bullseye.
You got this, Mar.
Yeah!
We win!
- Okay, let's go, baby! - Go!
Woo!
We'll look at that as a good practice round.
We're just gonna have to beat Martina and Phil.
Good.
You got it. You got it.
Good job, Phil. Way to go, buddy.
Oh, it smells good.
Oh, here's something.
- Alright. - Alright.
Roadblock. Who wants to have a ball?
I'll do it.
The history of entertaining crowds with magic
runs deep in Winnipeg,
as the International Brotherhood of Magicians
was founded right here in 1922.
In this two-part roadblock, racers will first need to learn
how to perform the classic cup and ball trick,
using sleight of hand to wow the audience.
Then they will need to finish the routine
by creating a balloon animal
that they'll give away at the end of the performance.
When this magician feels like they've mastered the illusion,
he'll give them their next clue.
Whoa.
Alright.
That is gonna be so much fun.
Hi, I'm here for magic.
You guys gonna enjoy some magic?
Yeah.
She's never done magic, but she's smart,
so she'll do it pretty fast.
You must perform the cups and balls.
Three cups.
Place one of the balls on top of the cup.
Cover it with the other two cups.
We tap it with the wand,
and it passes through to the table.
What?
Here's how the trick works.
We cheat.
There's actually another ball that no one knows about.
It is hidden in the middle cup.
Okay.
This is complicated because there's so many steps,
but the key to success for the trick
is not letting anybody see that fourth ball.
Okay. We will do again.
Yes.
Who wants to have a ball?
- I will. - You do it.
The ball is held at the fingertips and the thumb.
The thumb goes in. It falls down into the hand.
Eyes are focused on your left hand, as if it held the ball.
You now tap it with the wand to make the ball vanish,
turn back the cup, and show that it's joined its friends.
I have never performed a magic trick in my life.
But today's the day I throw that top hat on
and see what I can do.
Lock the car, lock the car.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
St. James Legion right here.
We're here. We're...
In last again.
Give me your good luck. Give me your good luck.
The game is now tied
with only one number left for both teams.
I need a 9. Which one's the 9?
Okay, it's between 14 and 12.
Oh, bloody hell.
Yeah! Yeah, yeah, we got it!
Thank you for your support!
We just got out ahead of Nancy and Mellisa,
so we're number three, baby!
We ain't number four no more!
Yes sir, yes sir.
We've lost both games.
We're feeling disheartened.
Kwame hasn't thrown darts before,
so we're hoping to capitalize on that.
Place the ball on top.
We tap it with the wand, and it goes...
passing through the walls of an ancient castle.
Magic.
I picked up the sleight of hand trick
fairly quickly. Now I need to figure out
how to make this balloon dog.
Squeeze one bubble for a nose.
Make another bubble.
You're trying to make these as equal as you can.
Making a dog.
Now the important part, poofy tail.
Nice, poofy tail.
I feel like I'm milking a cow.
- Roadblock. - You think you can do it?
Yeah. Let's go.
- Hello! - Hello!
She's gonna be like Chris Angel.
This is an ancient magic trick.
It involves three cups, and three balls.
We will take one of the red balls,
place it on top of the bottom cup,
and cover it in darkness.
It appears.
Whoa... oh-ho-ho!
And again, covering it in darkness, and like a ghost,
passing through the walls of a castle, it appears.
Woo!
She's killing it.
Many people think three's a hole in the cup.
That is not the case.
Oh!
- Oh! - Three balls!
Isn't that crazy?
No.
Let me make you a dog.
You know what every wiener dog needs is a poofy tail.
There we go. Look at that!
Woo!
Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Thank you all for having me!
That was hilarious!
I don't always tell her that I'm proud of her, but I am.
She's awesome. I like watching her do well.
It puts a smile on my face.
Drive yourselves to the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden,
and search for Jon at your next pitstop.
Teams must now make their way to Assiniboine Park
and search to find the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden.
Here in this peaceful garden in the middle of Assiniboine Park,
teams will find the 7th pitstop
on the Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition.
The last team to check in here may be eliminated.
Jon, we're coming for you.
We can smell ya, Jon.
We only need to get two more numbers to beat
Nancy and Mellisa in this faceoff,
and Kwame's up next.
I'm not really a darts person, but when pressure's on,
that just means more focus.
All I've gotta hit is a 10 and a 1.
Yes, sir.
- Ten. - Pop.
Ready, aim, one.
Ha! Let's go.
When the pressure's on, all we do is focus
and get the job done.
Oh!
We just have Courtney and Adam to play now.
Make 'em count, babe.
This is the fifth and final match,
and if we don't win this,
we will be leaving in last place,
and to have to face a time penalty.
Come up.
You tap it. It's vanished.
I'm gonna try it. I feel pretty confident.
I like balloons.
I need to surpass Leanne.
Hello! My name is Martina the Magician!
And I want to teach you a story about three sisters.
Woo, yay!
So there were three sisters.
No, it's too windy for my balls!
Ah!
If the winds are too strong, let's take this inside.
Okay, yo, yo, yo!
We put one sister here.
Where does the sister go?
- Whoa! - Oh!
Where did the second sister come from?
Oh! Triplet!
Lucky mommy!
Okay, I make a nice doggie balloon,
so we need to make a nose.
Then we make the...
Aw.
You'll have to try again.
You're close. You're close.
Welcome, everyone!
One, two, tap, tap.
Whoa!
Now everybody thinks the ball somehow falls through
a magic hole in the cup, but that is not how it works.
Again, it is magic.
It needs a little more practice.
That was really good. That was really good.
Who wants to have a ball?
Me.
I'm here with Leanne and Martina.
We could make a big jump for second place.
I need to make sure my magic is on point.
This game is super close.
We're neck and neck.
- What?! - Bullseye.
- Yeah, it is. - Good girl.
Get one more.
Hitting two bulls-eyes means that we can take
four numbers off the board.
That was incredible!
I'm gonna try to hit 7, 8, and 5.
Nice, babe.
One each.
- Geeze. - Holy crap.
We need number one.
Oh! Dang!
Babe, deep breath.
16.
We're not last. I'm so proud of you!
Woo, woo, woo!
We had the opportunity to move up into second,
- and now we're last. - Yeah... now we're last.
Just means we gotta pick up our socks and get rolling.
- It's not over yet! - That's right.
It's not over yet. Yup.
There he is.
Bring it in, you guys.
Welcome to Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Thank you.
Taylor, Courtney, you're team number one.
Yeah, baby!
The hatty, the natural hattrick.
As the winners of this leg of the race,
you've won a trip for two to New York City.
Yes!
I never grew up playing sports.
There wasn't a whole lot of things that I ever had
the opportunity to win at,
so the fact that we keep winning these legs of the race
is really special.
Awesome, take care. Thank you.
Bye, guys. Thank you.
Let's go. Let's see some magic.
Everybody, this is an ancient trick
passed down to me
from my great-great-grandfather,
St. Winnipeg of Francis.
Oh! Thank you.
Okay, okay.
We will go...
I gotta go back.
I'm gonna have a ball.
I am missing a ball.
Drive yourselves to the Forks Market,
and search inside for your next clue.
We gotta make some time up now.
Sometimes you need
a little bit of magic!
Whoa!
Yeah.
Who wants a little puppy-wuppy?
Everybody wants a cute little tail.
And we're gonna make a little poof at the end.
There you go.
Yay!
Congratulations.
Oh, thank you! Okay!
- I love you. - Oh, I love you too.
Drive yourselves to the Leo Mol Sculpture Gardens.
Warning, last team may be eliminated.
Okay, let's go.
Now we have this ball here.
Wow!
Yay!
Who here would like a puppy dog to take home?
Yeah!
Congratulations.
Yes!
Woo!
- She got it. - That was awesome!
Leanne just rocked the show.
Hoping Dylan can get this done so that we leave in fourth.
We really need this.
Diamonds are made under pressure.
Let's go.
We have this ball,
which will be in this hand,
but magically...
Whoa!
Where's the third one?
Okay!
Once again, so you all know that
I'm keeping it a hundred.
Where did that ball come from?
Where is it?
Yay!
Oh! That was gold!
I'm gonna show you all how to do a puppy dog.
Try again.
Oh, he's rattled right now, man.
I'm hoping he can relax, and just let the magic flow.
I don't want to be fighting for last, man.
I just want to get out of here.
Time to step it up. Let's go again.
Come on, baby.
Who wants to have a ball?
- Rock, paper, scissors. - Okay.
I'm doing it.
Twist those together.
Squeeze this up.
I got a balloon animal. How you doing?
- I'm close. - Got a long tail.
Yeah.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna make it pass
through to the bottom cup.
Now, I'm gonna do the same trick.
1... 2... 3.
Yeah, okay.
- Try again. - Alright.
Close your eyes for a second. I don't want to reveal my magic.
And now, I will disappear!
Jon!
Come on, Phil and Martina!
I'm running as fast as I can!
- Martina... - Yes.
- Phil. - Yes.
- You're team number two. - Oh my god!
- Yeah, we did it! - Your best finish yet!
This feels amazing.
We're competing against pro athletes,
like RCMP, Olympian.
What I once thought was unattainable, is attainable!
I feel invincible!
High-five, new Martina!
This way. Go, go, go!
Leanne, Mar, you're team number three.
Yes!
- On the podium once again. - Yes.
This is the last time we're gonna be up here.
I need some good energy!
Let's go!
Boom, boom, hit it.
- Ah! - Okay, thank you.
To make this...
Woo!
...disappear.
- Poodle time. - We believe!
We believe!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you got it!
You got it, you got it, you got it, you got it!
- Congratulations. - Thank you!
Thank you!
Dear god!
Dylan just got it.
It's Mellisa and I fighting for last place,
so there's gonna be lots of hocus pocus on this next one.
Hocus pocus, poof, we're gone.
I'll make the ball go through the cup, and onto the table.
- There we go. - Woo!
We're gonna give this little guy a nose.
There's his little fluffy tail.
And here you are, sir!
Thank you.
- Thank you. - Congratulations.
Thank you so much, sir.
- Appreciate it. - Good job, babe.
We're leaving Nancy and Mellisa,
and it's time for us to disappear.
To the truck.
Do we want to ask where it is?
No, babe. Let's keep going.
We are headed to... Assiniboine Park Drive.
I don't know which way I'm going.
We are on St. Mary.
Okay, so the next one should be Portage.
This is not Portage.
I've lost us.
This is not good.
Eyes on the prize, boys!
Come on over!
Dylan and Kwame...
you're team number four.
I'll take that right now!
Where is it? Is it in here?
No.
I have to quickly get this
because I do not want to go home.
There we go. There we go.
Congratulations.
We're close behind. Alright, let's go.
Assiniboine Park Drive... Assiniboine Park, right here.
- Got it. - Okay, perfect.
Stay on till you get to St. Mary's.
St. Mary's, you're gonna hang a right.
We're going to the pitstop.
I need some guidance here,
'cause I have no idea where we are now.
Babe, maybe what we should do
is pull over or something.
I'm pretty sure that we've gone too far.
We are on Portage.
We have to go all the way back
to Kingston Boulevard.
We are going to Assiniboine Park.
Oh, here's the Leo Mol Garden there.
We're in Assiniboine Park.
Looking for Jon. We're looking for the mat.
This is it. We've gotta run.
Do you see him anywhere?
It's gotta be in here somewhere.
Maybe that way.
Let's go. Let's run.
Give me your bag.
We're gonna have to sprint.
Come on, Adam! Come on, Courtney!
Come on, Court.
Courtney, Adam...
you're team number five.
We'll take it.
Where are the emotions coming from, Courtney?
Oh, I got us
just like lost on the way here.
Come here for a second.
It's okay, okay?
Okay. It's fine.
We're not ready to go home yet.
We've still got a lot left in the tank.
There's not a doubt in my mind.
This way. This way.
Nancy, Mellisa...
I am sorry to tell you that you are the last team to arrive.
I'd love to keep racing with this wonderful woman.
She has so much to offer.
You guys have gotten to know each other pretty well.
- Yeah. - It's been fun.
I feel sad.
Well, this is a non-elimination leg,
and you are both still in this race.
Oh my god. I can't believe that!
You ready for it?
- Yeah. - Holy crap.
'Cause we're pissed off!
This has lit a fire under my butt.
We were this close to losing it,
and that's the best thing that you taste and want it more.
We're gonna fight hard and get our ducks in a row.
You're not free of me yet!
Next time on The Amazing Race Canada Heroes Edition...
Fly to Prince Edward Island!
Teams head east to PEI...
That stands for Prince Edward Island.
...where they're served up confusion.
Something salad?
No.
- Augh! - Giddy up!
A detour has teams facing a tough row to hoe...
Farming is not for the faint of heart!
We have to cut the potatoes.
Go, go, go!
...and the physical and emotional demands of the race
- begin to take their toll. - Oh, come on.
Tell me what to do because that's what you like to do.
How is this possible?
I don't know what to do!
