Joseph Lefitz was the second case of,
let's call it, organ theft in the last

hours. Not knowing we'd be involved,
Atlanta PD closed the first crime scene.

In both cases, the killer showed care
and concern, suggesting that the killing

was a means to an end.

Both were transplant donors. Both were
traced to the organ recipients by relief

forms left in their hands.

And both bodies were also located in
cheap motels on the South Side Strip

nearly identical 911 calls.

And the cattle checked in the bulk
rooms, paid cash, and drove a black van.

Since his scene's intact, let's focus on
Joseph Lefferts. Grace. In my opinion,

whoever cut on Lefferts has the practice
surgical hand. For one thing, removing

the liver didn't kill him.

Near death was a painless arrest.

Right. An injection of phenobarbital to
the heart after the operation.

He didn't want him to suffer or linger.

And despite doing it in a motel, he took
great care to disinfect the surgical

area. The harvested liver had no
contaminants. He wanted the transplant

success.

Killing Lefferts may be an unfortunate
necessity that he regrets.

And someone even wound up better off
from it. How do you hack into the NOPA
