Episode 14

" Tranquil Garden "

This is the Tranquil Garden.

This is the resting chamber that I had prepared for you.

If you are not satisfied with the decorations,

I'll ask them to redecorate it again.

Watch the steps.

Wu You.

Did you find anything?

The bathroom is just straight ahead.

But it was used by my friend just now. So, it's still a little bit damp.

-No need to look at it then. -Why not?

Your Highness,

do you mind?

I don't mind.

After you, Your Highness.

After you, Your Highnesses.

Your Highness.

Why are these still here? Clean them out now.

Yes, General Fu.

Although this bathroom is not as luxurious as the one in the palace,

it's spacious enough.

Of course a general's manor won't be as good as a palace.

Sorry to have put you to such inconvenience.

Your Highness.

Are you sure that she never left the general's manor?

Yes.

Pass on my words.

We have to keep an eye on every person that goes out from the manor today.

I don't believe that she can disappear into thin air.

Yes, Your Highness.

Please have a seat.

Let's go.

Is she among this group of dancers?

Prince Li, please have a seat.

When did your personality changed, Wu You?

When did you start to have interest in beauty?

Man Yao?

So, that's how my stand-in looks like.

Wu You, you are too rude.

You are indeed as fair as the rose.

An outer-worldly beauty.

What is your name?

I am Hen Xiang from House of Fragrance.

Good.

Good.

If you don't mind,

I'll be serving you, Your Highness.

Great.

That's great.

Have a seat.

You may leave now.

Bring in the wine.

Is this Shilixiang wine?

You are indeed very knowledgeable. This is indeed the Shilixiang wine.

Your Highness, have a taste.

Wu You, this is the Shilixiang wine that I stole from your manor.

At first, I thought that it can lower her guard.

Thank you for the wine.

But I had just recovered from my illness.

The doctor had warned me off against alcohol.

I don't feel well...

just by inhaling the smell of the wine.

I'm sorry for being not attentive enough.

Bring us some tea.

Cheers, Your Highness.

Cheers.

General Fu.

Cheers.

Cheers, Your Highness.

This is indeed a good wine.

I heard that this wine no longer exists.

Where did you get it?

I got it from a friend as gift.

Sixteen years ago, everyone in the royal feast...

acclaimed that it was the best wine in town.

Nobody knew what happened...

but my father was so furious until he sentenced the Qin Family to death.

Such a waste to lose such an excellent vintner.

Qin Yong didn't even get to pass on his skills.

The Qin Family is well-known for his loyalty.

But his family was exterminated just because he sent in...

a jug of quality wine to the palace.

His whole family was slaughtered in a blink of an eye.

Every scholar in the world mourns his death.

As the crown prince of this nation,

you are not sorry for the loss of his capabilities in managing a country...

but are sorry for the loss of his wine-making skills?

His passing is very woeful and regrettable.

You are wrong, Princess Rong Le.

Minister Qin was once my father's most trusted aide.

He must have committed treason to the emperor.

Or else, his whole family won't be exterminated.

Am I right, Wu You?

Wu You.

Qin Yong used to be your teacher.

The wine that was made by him is one of the kind only.

You should make an exception.

Or else, it'll be your greatest regret if you don't drink it.

Wu You.

Come.

This is such an oversight.

I forgot that Prince Li does not consume wine.

Bring in some tea for Prince Li instead.

Wu You.

Let's go home.

Come, my lady.

Come. Get into the carriage, Xiang.

I'll get in first.

Farewell, Your Highness.

I know that you didn't do it just to help me.

What is your purpose of doing it?

I admit that I did it for a purpose.

But I'm very glad that you are willing...

to trust me.

Now, do you want to continue staying here...

or do you want to go back to the Princess Manor with Xiao Sha?

Do I have a choice?

You have already arranged everything.

The lives of Long Yue and the others are in your hands.

And Xiao Sha is always by my side to keep an eye on me.

Now, you want me to choose?

However,

you won't be able to control me always...

and I won't be your string puppet.

You always took me by surprise with your fierce determination.

-Man Yao. -Don't call me Man Yao.

I'm the Elder Princess of Western Qi.

I'm not someone you can look down on.

You must have worked so hard to carry out your duties, Sir Xiao.

Your Highness...

Looks like you have arranged everything.

You have taken away all of the people...

that I'm familiar with.

Now, both your identity and your purpose here...

can be exposed easily.

We can't let the people of Northern Realm know about it.

So,

it's better to be cautious.

Are you saying that Fu Chou is not the people of Northern Realm?

Since you are going to place me under house arrest,

no need to sugar-coat it.

Since you already know,

give me The Book of Mountains and Rivers then.

I'll keep my promise.

After you are married for one year,

you can come back to our home in Western Qi.

Home?

Where is my home?

Do I have a home?

I only care about...

The Book of Mountains and Rivers.

You are right.

The book is with me.

-But I have a condition. -Tell me.

Let my people live.

Chen Yu, Ling Yue, Xiao Wei and Long Yue.

No harm shall come to them.

Alright.

Xiao Sha.

-Yes, Your Majesty. -Bring her to them tomorrow.

Yes.

Beauty.

Your Highness.

-You are drunk. -I'm not.

I'm not drunk.

You want to run away?

Where can you run to?

Naughty girl.

-Who are you? -I...

You! This...

Beauty.

-Beauty. -Your Highness.

-Your Highness. -It's alright.

Beauty, let me take a look.

You...

Are you mad?

You...

How can you bring a girl from a public house into your Eastern Palace?

Have you ever shown me any respect as your wife?

If the emperor and my father know about this,

how am I going to cover it up for you?

Your father again.

You are using your father to threaten me again.

Yes.

You scholars are very powerful.

All of you looked down on me.

Ever since I marry you,

I have never made things difficult for you.

I had turned a blind eye to it...

when you enjoyed yourself with those women out there.

But Your Highness,

how can you bring a lowly wench into the Eastern Palace?

-You... -Eastern Palace...

is just a wall apart from your bed chamber.

It's my fault.

Please kick me out from the palace, Your Highness.

Beauty, please stand up. You...

You are just a woman. You know nothing.

Don't you know who she is?

She was given to me by General Fu.

Do you know who General Fu is?

I've put in so much effort to get him under my rank. You...

If you keep quiet, nobody will know about this.

At any rate, if you spread this out,

you'll be getting it from me.

Leave now! Leave us!

I can't believe you.

-Are you alright? -I'm fine.

Leave.

Beauty.

Beauty.

Beauty.

Beauty.

Beauty.

Your Highness, after you drink this cup of wine,

I'm all yours.

I'll drink it.

I'll drink it.

Beauty.

Beauty.

You are here.

You are a scumbag who wrecks the country and ruins the people.

You have ruined so many nice ladies out there.

You deserve to suffer.

The Shilixiang Wine in the general's manor...

is from a winery in this city that has started to sell this wine recently.

It's called Shilixiang,

but after I checked the wine recipe,

it's different from the secret recipe of Qin Family.

They just imitate the original wine so that they smell the same.

But they taste different.

Any matter regarding Qin Family is a taboo in Northern Realm.

They still dare to imitate him.

The winery didn't mention anything about Qin Family.

They just took advantage of the wine's name...

that was so famous more than 10 years ago.

The people didn't know the relation between this wine and the old case.

I'm afraid that they are just taking a huge risk for profit.

The mind of a businessman is really unpredictable.

That's not right.

It's impossible that Fu Chou will be ignorant to the secret of Shilixiang.

But why would he take the risk...

to use this restricted wine in his banquet?

I've already investigated about it. On the surface, General Fu...

and Miss Man Yao don't have any special relationship.

Agent Wu said that she is in the general's manor.

But we have found nothing.

Agent Wu is never wrong.

He must have found out about something.

I keep feeling that it's a very strange night.

Did we miss out on some details?

Man Yao turns up in the general's manor.

Without any regards if the etiquette, the unmarried princess...

went to the manor of his fiancé to check out the house decorations.

Not to mention...

the lead dancer in the banquet who is quite good in martial arts.

And Fu Chou actually gave such a dangerous woman to the crown prince.

Not to mention...

the Shilixiang wine that was purposely used in the banquet.

Everything is very suspicious.

But it seems like they are somehow unrelated.

Do I need to go and ask for Agent Wu's guidance?

No need. We have to find Man Yao first.

Fu Chou is not just aiming...

to curry favour with the crown prince.

If we want to know his real purpose,

I think that everything will come to light...

when we find Man Yao.

I'm sorry, Your Highness.

Yesterday night, I was too exhausted...

until I slept like the dead.

Yesterday night?

What happened yesterday night?

Why can't I remember anything?

Why did you make fun of me, Your Highness?

Looks like I've worked you too hard yesterday night.

No need to pay your respect today.

Come, let's do it again.

-But your wife... -No need to care about her.

No.

Your Highness.

This is my first day here. I don't want to be seen...

as the spoiled one just because you dote on me.

Actually, you don't need to be so attentive to me.

I already know that you are very nice to me.

Good.

Good.

So, you know the basic principles.

Such a sensible woman.

I can't let Princess Rong Le marry General Fu.

She belongs to Wu You.

This Man Yao from Moon Embrace Teahouse.

I'll make you stay away from Wu You for sure.

" Moon Embrace Teahouse "

Excuse me, where did the people from the teahouse go?

They are closed for several days already.

This is weird. They were doing very well.

But they just close down suddenly like that.

Did she really think that she can become the wife of a prince?

Is that why she shuts down her business?

Leng Yan.

We have to find her even if we have to turn the city upside down.

Yes, Your Highness.

Maybe Man Yao didn't manage to find the book yet.

Rather than spending so many manpower to search for Man Yao,

we could just use that manpower to find the book.

Wu You.

This is the first time I've ever seen you so flustered.

Didn't you look for her for the sake of the book?

Wu You, in your heart,

Man Yao is more important than The Book of Mountains and Rivers?

Have you really fallen in love with Man Yao?

Wu You!

Why are you here again?

I went to the teahouse today. Everybody said that...

the shop has been closed for several days.

Did you know where Man Yao go?

Don't come here to pester him. Wu You has enough troubles already.

We have been looking for her for days as well.

Even Wu You doesn't know where Man Yao is.

Could it really be that she's in real danger?

Although I hope that Wu You can be with Princess Rong Le...

That's right.

She must be in danger.

Wu You, she will be fine. It's just a slip of my tongue.

With Man Yao's personality,

she won't let go of the things she wants and just leave like that.

Moreover, this is a big city.

It's impossible that someone can disappear without a trace.

Unless...

Unless something had happened to her.

She will be fine, Wu You.

Let's split out to look for her. We will be able to find her for sure.

If she's really in captivity,

rather than looking for her in secret,

we should make a scene out of it...

so that her captors have nowhere to hide.

Wu Yu, bring along your guards to search for her in the city with me...

in the name of searching for a fugitive.

Search very nook and cranny.

Alright.

Wu You, it was a thoughtless comment just now. Don't be anxious.

You better leave. Stop pestering Wu You. Let's go.

Quick. Let's go.

Have you seen this lady before?

-No. -You'll be rewarded if you do.

No.

Have you seen this lady before?

No.

Have you seen her before?

No.

Have you seen this lady before?

That day, I did see a young lady walking on the street under the rain.

But it's too dark. I can't see clearly.

Officer, give me some money now.

Off you go.

Prince Li is looking for a fugitive.

Those who obstruct the search will be killed.

Give it to us.

Officers!

These belong to us, officers. Nothing to do with the fugitive.

Looks like Prince Li is just as bad.

You officers are traitors to the people.

You are just a bunch of robbers. I'm going to report on you.

General Fu, just like what you have expected,

Prince Li and Prince Chen are searching...

from house to house to look for Miss Man Yao in the city.

This is quite unexpected actually.

Zongzheng Wu You has never bothered himself with women.

It's not like him to act so desperately.

You had added the fuel to the fire right on time.

The Eastern Palace will rely more heavily on you now.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Sir Xiao.

Are you bringing me to your master now?

Your Highness.

His Majesty has already left after he bade his farewell...

to the Emperor of Northern Realm.

What is it?

Won't the Emperor of Northern Realm be suspicious for my brother...

to leave before putting me on the bridal sedan chair himself?

I have no rights...

to question His Majesty.

He left before he got the book.

But he left you behind to retrieve it.

Looks like you have done well for the past half year.

You had put in so much effort to trick and spy on me.

You have proven your loyalty to him.

You are worthy to be entrusted with this task.

Please bring me to the book, Your Highness.

Bring me to Long Yue and the others.

You won't get to see the book until I get to see them.

Let's go then, Your Highness.

Next, let's go to that shop.

Welcome to my humble shop. Have a look.

Three days ago, you have imported in four bales of silk from Liang.

Today, I've brought my housekeeper along to get the goods.

Please follow me.

-My lady. -Are you alright?

Thank goodness you are alright, Your Highness.

Long Yue.

Xiao Sha.

You traitor.

How can you betray the princess?

Long Yue, what happened to you?

Long Yue, what happened to you?

I'm fine.

They have just given me some sedatives...

so that I can't fight against them.

Do you have to treat...

your own companion like this?

I've gotten you all into troubles.

That's not true.

I just got to know that you are the princess recently.

But I knew it in my heart that...

you had sacrificed a lot in order to save our lives.

Your Highness, now that you've seen them,

can you bring me to The Book of Mountains and Rivers now?

The Book of Mountains and Rivers? Don't do it, Your Highness.

The book is the only thing that can guarantee your freedom.

How can you give it to them just like that?

Don't worry.

I'll get you out for sure.

No.

I can bring you to the book.

But no harm can come to them.

I understand.

After you, Your Highness.

Be careful, my lady..

Be careful, Your Highness.

-My lady. -Your Highness.

Your Highness.

-Have you seen her before? -No.

-Have you seen her before? -No.

-Have you seen her before? -No.

Have you seen this lady before?

-This height and very pretty. -Never.

I think you know the consequences if they manage to find you.

-Have you seen this lady before? -No.

I'll send someone to lure them away.

And then we'll use another path.

So, you still have someone spying on me.

Stop that carriage.

Yes, Your Highness!

-Move aside. -Move aside, please.

-Move aside. -Move aside, please.

We can go now.

Are you looking for me?

Man Yao. We are looking for you. Go back with me now.

Let's go.

It's you.

I remember.

You are the bodyguard of the Princess of Western Qi, right?

Why are you meddling into other's business here?

Did you get the wrong person?

Where is Man Yao?

Man Yao!

It's all your fault. Why did you fight me suddenly?

Your Highness, I was chasing down a servant.

I thought that he had ran into your troops.

I was too anxious, so...

You mean that servant who escaped in that carriage just now, right?

I saw it, but I didn't manage to stop it.

But you are really good in fighting.

No discord, no concord. I'll learn from you again another day.

It's just a misunderstanding. Please forgive me.

Sir.

-Have you seen this lady before? -No, goodbye.

-Continue to search. -Yes, Your Highness.

No need to chase after her.

This is a matter of Western Qi.

We won't need your service here.

This is not something that you can decide on your own, Sir Xiao.

Alright.

I'll follow the order.

-Your Highness. -My lady.

We can't stay here for long. We have to leave this place now.

Let's go.

Have you seen this lady before?

-Have you seen this her before? -Take a look, have you seen her?

-No, I haven't. -No.

What about you?

-Have you seen her? Be truthful. -No.

We have to get out from the city before the door closes for tonight.

-I'll carry you. -No.

Your Highness, you should leave first.

Don't worry. We have to get out from the city first.

Come.

Are you alright? Get up.

-Are you alright? -I'm fine.

Your Highness, I can't run anymore.

-You should go ahead first. -Your Highness.

Looks like nobody is on our trail.

I can also feel that the sedative is wearing off.

-How about you put me down first? -No.

I'll put you down when you are recovered completely.

That's right. Let's keep going for a little bit more.

Let's go.

-You saw Man Yao in the city? -That's right.

I saw her on the street. But I lost my eye on her and she was gone.

Your Highness, we have news.

Someone saw Miss Man Yao at the west entrance of the city.

She must have left the city.
