investigative journalist.

And I'm Bobby Marqueso, an ex -cop and
psychic medium.

And together, we aim to have a
conversation with a serial killer.

Ted Bundy gave birth to the term serial
killer.

Ted Bundy was a sociopath and a
psychopath.

Three girls and one is kind of faint.

The menacing part is right here.

My camera just went off.

The noise is like... You're digging into
a very dark hole.

This is him.

It's a feeling of kind of being
observed.

He's here.

He's scaring the shit out of me.

He was perfect evil living just around
the corner.

Ted Bundy was one of the world's most
notorious serial killers. A good

articulate and intelligent man, he
orchestrated a campaign of terror that

stretched all the way across the United
States.

Between 1974 and 1978, he lured a series
of pretty, dark -haired women to

gruesome death.

Does the world really know about Ted
Bundy's darkest secrets?

Is there more to uncover about this
monster who terrorized a generation? I

wanted to find out.

Bundy was sent to the electric chair in
Florida in 1989.

He was 43 years old and had confessed to
around 30 murders, yet people fear that

there may have been many more.

Our journey into one of the darkest
hearts in American criminal history will

seek to explore the life and death of
Robert Theodore Bundy.

If his spirit still torments this world,
we aim to find him.

But does Head Bundy's ghost linger at
the places he haunted in life?

And what evidence could we uncover?

Our paranormal journey will investigate
Bundy's life and death as we attempt to

speak to him from beyond the grave.

Ted Bundy was born in November 1946 and
spent most of his childhood in

Washington State.

Bundy lived in the Tacoma streets and
attended the local high school.

He achieved good grades, but beneath the
veneer of normality, he was far from

the average prepubescent teenager.

He was a juvenile delinquent growing up.
He was a voyeur while other kids were

dating.

He spent his Friday nights dealing
across lawns, peeking in windows,

shoplifting.

He was not the all -American boy.

As a young man, Bundy began to show
signs of a split personality.

By day, he was an able law student and
budding politician, working part -time

the Seattle Suicide Crisis Clinic.

By night, he was a mysterious and
elusive nocturnal prowler lurking in the

shadows of the city.

But the stalking and the watching was
not enough for Ted Bundy. By now he was

straying into far darker territory, and
soon the prowler was to become predator.

In order to communicate with Bundy, I
felt we had to talk to someone who knew

him well from his time here in
Washington State.

Ann Rule was once proud to call Bundy
her friend, but would her knowledge of

help us find his ghost?

Her story is so extraordinary, it became
a best -selling book.

Can I just ask you, when did you first
meet Ted, and what do you remember of

that first meeting?

Well, it was the early 1970s, and he was
so nice, very sensitive. I

liked him right away.

And what was it, in your view, that
started him killing? He was going

this girl from Northern California, and
she was very wealthy. She was a year

older than he was, very confident, and
she felt he wasn't going anyplace and he

didn't have any sense of direction.

She went back to California, and he was
just crushed.

So he went back to where Stephanie
lived, and she fell in love with him.

As soon as she fell in love with him, he
dumped her. I think he thought he'd

feel better.

But I don't think he did, because the
rash of killings began three weeks

and all of the girls resembled Stephanie
very closely.

Do you think Ted ever had any remorse
about the crimes that he committed?

I'd like to think that he did, but I
think his remorse was more that he was

caught. I have found that for serial
killers, murder is an addiction.

They're just as addicted as people are
to drugs, alcohol.

The substance for them is murder.

This man that I would have trusted with
my daughters was a monster.

So we learned from Anne that Bundy was a
remorseless, vengeful killer who

targeted young women.

Would this information be useful in our
attempt to make contact with him on the

other side?

I wasn't to know that the paranormal
evidence we were about to uncover would

so strong so soon.

I wanted to begin our paranormal
investigation at Ted Bundy's local bar.

Dumpy sits in the heart of the
University of Seattle's student

it's alleged to be rife with paranormal
activity.

But would we find any evidence of
Bundy's evil spirit?

Famous Dante's. Famous Dante's bar. Do
you see the devil pictures?

It was here on January the 31st, 1974,
that Bundy chose one of his first known

victims, Linda Ann Healy.

Could Bundy still be here, lurking in
the dark recesses of the bar, still

watching, still waiting?

His favourite place to sit is now home
to the DJ booth.

It's a great vantage point, isn't it? I
mean, if you wanted to go out and you

wanted to look down. I mean, that's
effectively that corner is where he

his victims. Yeah.

Let's go upstairs. I want to set up a
tape recorder. You can also pick up some

EVP on the voice recorder. Let's go up
there and set that up before we start

walking around and starting to get

See, and look at the timing that that
happened. Because when I started feeling

more stuff now coming in, they drain.
They're very known to drain batteries.

I'd heard that spirits could interfere
with equipment, but I wasn't sure that

simply wasn't my camera malfunctioning.
I would need better proof than that.

Okay, it's back up and running. It looks
fine.

Let's go back upstairs.

Electronic voice phenomena, where
machines pick up sounds undetected by

human ear, is an alleged method of
spirit communication, and one that I

Bundy would use here in the DJ booth.

Definitely tell a feeling that's more
dark, ominous. The camera just

went off again.

Okay, that's actually really scary.

The camera switching off once, I can
excuse, but now I was feeling uneasy.

I went alone to investigate the pool
hall to the rear of the bar.

It's colder.

It's a little bit tense over here.

And I think it's a feeling of kind of
being observed, of being

watched.

And as I say, we don't know if that
energy is Ted Bundy, but certainly

what he did.

He observed his victims, you know, he
hunted them.

In the bleak darkness of the pool hall,
was my imagination playing tricks on me?

After all, I knew the facts of what
Bundy was capable of.

There's something... I don't know.

Ted used to... I don't know if you sit
here, because it feels like I'm sitting

here watching, too.

We've definitely got activity up here.

Let's walk around a little bit.

I'm just going to take a walk up the
stairs now to where Bobby is.

I'm feeling nauseous. I have to tell
you, this feels like Ted. It feels like

Ted energy to me.

Oh, I just got the phrase, it's like
shooting fish in a barrel.

It's so scheming.

I know every girl.

who's up here, who she's with.

He picks them out. He points them out.

Pinpointed, you know what I mean? It's
like you could have 30 girls up here,

he just skims over certain hair colors
or whatever, and he picks right on the

brunette, but a certain build as well,
like shorter.

You know what I mean?

I'm obviously female.

I would fit some of those
characteristics.

No offense, but it doesn't look like you
can put up much of a fight.

You know what I mean?

Are we getting anything on the
temperature gauge? No, the temperature's

the same. Well, we just now... Now, see
here, it's like 58, 55.

It just bounced back from. Yeah. There's
something. There's definitely energy.

Oh, we got a Norb.

A Norb is a small shaped ball of energy
believed by paranormal researchers to be

the first stage of the manifestation of
a spirit.

Skeptics believe that orbs could be dust
particles or light reflections, but

Bobby was sure it was an orb.

Is there a chance that the imprint that
we feel is... Not an imprint.

Something actually here is going to
drain batteries. It's going to make me

nauseous. This is him.

We move back down to the pool hall.

I'm feeling at the end of somebody
else's gaze, not at the beginning.

I'm feeling closed in.

Because you can't go anywhere in here,

It feels really cold out.

What was that?

I genuinely feel about four degrees
colder than I felt a second ago.

You're right at 75 and 77.

But it's around you here. Around me.

I can feel that. I can feel that right
exactly there.

you. Sometimes you can pick up orbs.

Yep. See right here? Just exactly in the
spot we were talking about.

Bobby had isolated exactly where I had
felt a cold spot. Could this sphere of

light really be a manifestation of Ted
Bundy's energy?

I genuinely felt that. When you said at
the corner of my elbow it was like

somebody putting an ice pack on there,
it was a definite, definite change in

temperature.

It was convincing evidence.

There's some really interesting
experiences at Dante's Bar where Ted

to go and hang out and pick up his
victims.

It definitely made the hair on my neck
stand up. There was a feeling in there,

definitely.

And it could have been because I was
imagining myself in the shoes of this

victim, of being watched. Did I feel the
presence of that energy, aside from the

camera turning off?

No.

The morning after our investigation at
Dante's, Bobby asked me to join him in a

local cafe.

He had something he wanted me to hear.

I want to play for you some recordings.

What I did was set up a small recorder
up in Bundy's booth. But here's

headphones.

Now, the one thing about this, ideally
you want to have everything really,

really quiet.

It was incredibly noisy there. So you're
going to hear a lot of laughter and

things like that outside of the bar.

You can make your presence known.

Bobby thinks this voice is saying
coming.

It doesn't sound like anything I was
aware of in the bar.

Again, it's a distinguishable sound, but
it kind of sounds like somebody messed

around with it on one of those voice
things, like slowed a voice down. Right,

right, exactly. And that's what they can
sound like as well.

But Bobby's next EVP was much clearer.

He believed the voice was saying, I will
hurt, truly.

Hang on a second. So that was in the
booth.

Although disturbed, I was encouraged by
the volume of paranormal phenomena we

had already experienced.

It seems something could be lurking in
the shadows of Dante's, but was it Ted

Bundy?

On February 1, 1974, Bundy left Dante's
and followed Linda Ann Healy to this

Seattle house.

In the dead of night, he bludgeoned her
while she slept, and then abducted her.

The line from stalking to murder had
been crossed, and the killing had begun.

The whole of Washington state was on
alert to the evil terrorizing its

but it was the university district in
Seattle that was the focus of fear.

I'd arranged for us to meet with Jake, a
Seattle -based private investigator who

had been a young woman at the time Bundy
terrorized the city and is an expert on

Bundy's Seattle period.

Do you have any specific memories
yourself or things that you remember

time that Bundy first started to commit
murder?

Well, I have one very personal memory.

My younger sister may have become one of
his victims had she not been smart

enough to get out of his bug when he
stopped for cigarettes one day.

She and her friend were hitchhiking. He
got out to go get cigarettes, and they

picked up on bad vibes.

They decided to get out of the car, but
found out that they couldn't get out

through the passenger side, so they
exited out his driver's side, and when

came back, they watched him be visibly
upset and drive around the area looking

for him.

The first location Jake wanted to take
us to was the alleyway behind the house

where Bundy had lived.

And which room was his?

It was the top corner window, the one
with the double windows there. Okay.

almost like... He had the perfect
location, really, because of the way

enter the house on this alleyway. You
know, if it's late at night, you've got

buildings on either side.

Nobody's really going to pay attention
if you're coming in through your back

door. Right. No lights.

I'm seeing them kind of come up past
here as well in some instances. Like he

would park on the other side and then
come back through here.

And three for sure women heads.

Only and then possibly a fourth. But
three girls and one is kind of faint.

don't know why it's a faint one. If it's
different or if she was not

like the others.

Just somehow she's removed from these
girls. That's why I'm saying three

positively and one possible.

Well, rumors have it it was four.

Three of them were college girls and one
of them wasn't. So perhaps that's why

you're picking up a different vibe.

Bobby seemed to have locked in
immediately to Bundy's energy and was

information that few people knew about.

Next, Jake took us a few blocks from
Bundy's house to the scene of one of his

most infamous crimes, the abduction of
Georgia Ann Hawkins.

It was in this area, but I'm getting he
almost was in... He was

like back here.

You know what I mean? Like in a...

Just waiting. In fact, this was the back
of her sorority house.

And the way I'm picturing is that his
bug was facing that way, trunk open,

lifting a tire.

She comes over just to help shove it in
his trunk. What could it hurt?

Bam.

Puts her in the trunk and then drives
away.

Menacing part is right here.

Right here.

And she's so close.

And I guess when you go around this
area, I mean, it's set out, isn't it, in

this block sort of formation. There are
lots of alleyways.

Right. I mean, really, one is pretty
much the same as the next. So there

have been plenty of places for him to do
his hunting, if I can call it that.

Well, you could really call it that
because that's exactly what he was, a

hunter.

On July the 14th, 1974,

Ted Bundy became even bolder when he
stepped out of the darkness of the night

and into broad daylight.

Here at Lake Sammamish State Park, he
abducted Janis Ott underneath Nasland in

full view of 39 ,000 people enjoying a
summer's day by the lake.

Around 12 .30pm, passers -by recall
seeing Janis Ott in conversation with

man who carried one arm in a sling. He
introduced himself as Ted.

No one ever saw her alive again.

Denise Naslin was last seen strolling
towards these public toilets around 4

.30pm. She too disappeared without a
trace.

As the light faded across Lake
Sammamish, we arrived to investigate.

Could Bundy still be hiding here, the
eternal voyeur?

This is Lake Sammamish that goes out in
front of us here. But it's really hard

to believe, isn't it, because it's such
a cold night and it's wintertime.

that when Bundy abducted those girls and
then went on to kill them, that the

park was full of people, thousands of
people. It was a hot, sunny day.

Now it seems so quiet and desolate.

Honestly, I felt drawn to walk that way.

I don't know. It's just, I don't know.
There's something kind of weird. That's

what I'm saying. There you go.

And do you think that it feels heavy
here?

This is the place where he was thinking
about what he was going to do? Totally.

He's watching everybody right now.

Including us?

This is where he hung out.

Whether what had happened was truly
paranormal, I couldn't tell. What I did

was that I was unnerved.

But our journey was about to get even
darker.

Our investigation into the spirit of Ted
Bundy had brought us south to Florida,

where the notorious serial killer had
committed his most brutal and shocking

murders.

Ted Bundy had left Washington State in
the autumn of 1974,

relocating to the Midwest.

Over the next nine months, eight girls
disappeared in Utah and neighboring

Colorado. But in August of 75, Bundy was
arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The police had inadvertently caught
their killer.

Not for long.

Bundy fled from custody in June 1976.

He was recaptured eight days later, but
on New Year's Eve 1977,

Ted Bundy escaped again.

A few days later, he resurfaced in the
university city of Tallahassee.

Ted's plan in Tallahassee was to have a
clean start.

It was not going to so much as even
jaywalk.

He was going to establish a new
identity, get a job, and basically

I'd arranged for Bobby and I to meet
with Betty Davis, an expert on Bundy's

in Tallahassee. We met at the Greyhound
bus station where Bundy had arrived in

January 1978.

You've lived in Tallahassee a long time.

Quite a number of years. And you can
tell us what the significance is of the

Greyhound bus station, because this was
really the first stop in Ted Bundy's

journey in Florida.

Yes, this was the place that he came to,
we believe, to try to live a normal

life and to go into the public, to be
anonymous, to be just a law -abiding

citizen. How long had he been here
before he started killing Indians?

Just several days, less than two weeks.

In reality, he started drinking heavily.

He started roaming the streets at night.
He started doing everything that he

promised himself he wouldn't do.

Obviously the entity was not dormant as
he hoped it was.

The urge to kill was upon him.

What's interesting about the Chi Omega
crimes is that it was a clumsy rampage.

Gone is the charming, almost devilish,
organized serial killer.

This was just a drunken rampage through
a sorority house.

I think if he could have, he would have
tried to kill everyone in that house.

But Bundy wasn't finished. An hour
later, he struck again, brutally

Cheryl Thomas in her duplex six blocks
away in Dunwoody Street.

He had spotted his victim sometime
earlier, standing in a supermarket

Bundy eventually returned to his guest
house, The Oak, at around 4 a .m. So,

Betty, this was once called The Oak.

Yes. And how long did he rent the room
out? About three weeks.

Do you know of any paranormal activity?

Sightings of Ted have been seen up and
down the sidewalk on College Avenue, as

well as we have heard that there have
been sightings from time to time of Ted

around the porch area because this is
the last place that he lived at that he

experienced freedom.

Since Bundy plagued the building, the
oak has fallen.

Besieged by an inferno, the walls, or
what's left of them, hide nothing more

than shards of broken glass and
scavengers.

Has the evil that fermented here in 1978
really moved on? Could the oak's dark

tenant still be here?

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, you could just feel the...

The energy just starting to come out
really... Is it a dark energy?

It's a more negative type of energy,
yeah.

As the light disappeared from the
Tallahassee sky, the oak plunged into

blackness. The only illumination, the
flickering embers of the frat house

rumbling across the street.

So, Bobby, we're back at the oak
boarding house.

In the darkness, there's no doubt about
it, Ted Bundy was a psychopath. He was a

dangerous, violent individual. Are we in
any danger in this house?

We're dealing with evil energy, and
there's always a danger with that.

We've got a clear orb right on the
stairs.

I sense a little girl on the stairs.

There's going to be more than just Ted's
essence here.

And what I want to do is peel back those
layers, and then we go after the sweet

spot. We go after that Ted Bundy essence
and talk with him.

I want to go upstairs. That's right now
where it's really the strongest.

What's really strange in here

is there's lots of graffiti along the
wall.

But right along the other end of the
wall is the word TED.

It feels like the lair of a serial
killer.

I didn't know if it was the oak's decay
and dereliction that was frightening me,

if it was my mind playing tricks, or if
it was something more sinister.

I know that this was your room, and I
know what you were planning to do here.

He came here supposedly on the guise

relaxing and healing and that type of
thing, and I don't buy it. He didn't do

that. He didn't try to stop.

He just came where he could blend in
more and nobody would hardly notice that

the girls were missing.

We know that's true. I can hear him
laughing.

All across the front of me, very...

Yeah.

He's standing right in back of me,
getting really agitated.

And you know what? This is the same
agitatedness that he had had when he was

that grocery line.

And he's got a mouth on him too.

It's too f***ing loud is what he's
saying.

Restlessness, lack of patience,
agitation, and pacing. I feel like I

pace. He's got two girls he's planning
on right now.

I know that my time is running out.

I feel like it's just days away now.

Noise that's like just... I feel like
going to the bar.

Ted, do you feel any remorse for the
things that you did?

You killed young women that were just
like me. They had their whole lives in

front of them.

It was easy.

I wouldn't have made it easy, Ted.

There's a couple who fought back.

Just hit him harder.

Right in the head.

Right in the back.

He's starting to calm down now.

He's calming down now.

He just eased out.

Had we just had a conversation with
Bundy, it seemed real enough to Bobby,

if he had been with us, he'd now slipped
away into the Tallahassee shadows, just

as he'd done that gruesome night back in
1978.

Immediately we get in there, we start
wandering around, we go up the stairs,

Bobby said, there's a presence here,
take a picture, there's an orb right

It's a very dusty, dilapidated old
house. Could it be that exactly at that

moment there was a speck of dust in the
air and it was caught by the light of

the camera? While we were in there,
Bobby started doing something they call

channeling.

I've never seen...

Bobby behaved like that before.

It was certainly strange. It was a
strange place for me again. It was

think I knew what had gone on there,
walking in those footsteps.

The following morning, Bobby and I met
to try to make sense of our strange

at the Oak.

Last night, you had a conversation with
him in that room. Do you still believe

in the cold light of day that that was a
conversation between you and Ted Bundy?

We came across two different types of
feelings, two different types of

One of...

kind of what he found himself doing when
he was in Tallahassee and living at

that particular boarding house. And then
the winding down where he felt that

time was running out, that this was
going to be a last hurrah type of thing,

he started getting more frenzied, more
agitated, more aggravated.

Do you think he's going to want to carry
on that conversation with us?

So far, everywhere we've been, his
energy has gotten stronger.

This being the strongest so far, he's
coming forward more. He is watching us

and... impressing himself more on us and
observing and stalking us, just

like he did with his victims.

After the Kai Omega killing, Ted Bundy
remained on the run for a month.

In that time, he abducted and brutally
killed 12 -year -old Kimberly Leach in

Lake City.

She was seen by a friend of hers walking
toward a disheveled, long -haired man

standing outside a white van.

He was drunk.

He was unshaven. He's basically lost all
control.

Her body was found eight weeks later,
dumped in an abandoned pigsty within the

Suwannee National Park.

He was finally apprehended on February
the 15th, 1978, in Pensacola, Florida.

At his trial for the Chi Omega murder,
Ted Bundy chose to defend himself.

The prosecuting attorney was a young man
named Larry Simpson.

I hope that by meeting Larry now, we
could better understand Bundy's energy

towards the end of his life.

This was a circumstantial evidence case.

Obviously, one of the key pieces of
evidence was the bite mark that was left

one of the victims at the Chi Omega
house.

This is an actual life -size mold of Mr.
Bundy's teeth.

that we obtained from Mr. Bundy pursuant
to a search warrant.

If you look at them, you can see how
irregular the teeth are, which is one of

the reasons why the forensic dentists
were able to make the identification in

this case.

When this evidence was presented in
court, do you remember feeling an

that people thought, actually, this
man's guilty?

I realized that this trial took place in
1979.

And at that point in time, the bite mark
evidence had never been admitted in a

court in the state of Florida before.

Frankly, we didn't know whether it would
be admissible in court or not.

The bite mark evidence helped seal the
fate of Theodore Robert Bundy. He was

convicted on two counts of murder and
sentenced to death by electric chair.

But he was still to be tried for the
murder of Kimberly Leach.

Our final search in our investigation
has brought us here to the Orange County

Courthouse, the place where Bundy stood
trial and a place rife with paranormal

activity.

Well, one night when I was coming from
the back room, unexpectedly I heard some

loud clashing.

And I just knew that somebody was in the
building and I was supposed to be the

only one here.

I've heard people talk about voices.

I've experienced a couple of voices
myself.

The courtroom also houses a table used
by Bundy's defense team during the

It's believed that Bundy himself etched
his name into the wood in frustration.

Could some of the energy that's been
seen and heard of in this building be

Bundy? Yeah, definitely I can feel that
kind of presence that we've talked about
