Original subtitles

Previously on A House Divided. You will die!

I believe it.

Who do you think I am? What do you want me to do?

Do nothing. I'll handle it.

I'm a little worried about you.

What you need to be worried about is yourself and your son.

This young lady, Breonna Mayfield, she's been missing for about a week now.

Maybe ten days. We do have surveillance footage of you and her getting into some

weird altercation outside of Club Artemis.

Doesn't make me a murderer.

No one ever said you were a murderer.

Let me refer her to psych.

She needs some support. A family is all the support she needs.

Girl, you're pregnant.

What am I going to do?

You know that business I've been building?

FinTech? That's the new.

Get rid of the distractions.

So what now?

I already thought about that.

I got you. How?

I got to tell you because I'm worried about it.

The worst papers.

Mm -hmm.

You are actually going through with this.

I need you to sell these construction deals to the Nigerians.

I'll pack my bag.

I'll make the arrangement.

Sometimes a gun is more powerful than it stays in the hole.

But everyone knows this thing.

And now, A House Divided.

me off this place put me somewhere else give me all the love and the abundance

in the well shopping at the mall don't look at the tag show me all the finer

things that i ain't never had give me real friends i mentioned in the main

and tell my mama she ain't gotta work again

Put me on the island, right up in the villa.

Put me on a yacht in the sea with sunny weather.

Give me a chef, cook up all the meals. Throw in a mate, make sure to have me.

I don't care to be the richest in town.

I just need enough to let my hair down.

Nice life, all right.

We will live the nice life, all right.

Money isn't everything.

Yes, indeed.

But if it didn't matter, everything would be free.

But it ain't.

Is she doing it back here?

I was going to tell you about her. You were going to tell me? Yeah. No.

No, no. You were going to do it behind my back, which is exactly what you did.

Did I do it behind your back?

Or did you get rid of her behind mine?

I have to protect you from yourself, Cameron.

I have to protect this family from you.

Yeah, it's the other way around.

No, no. You know, I've been...

I've been holding my tongue down, no, biting my tongue to the point of tasting

blood, and I can't anymore.

And can't you see, you weak ass?

I almost got my head chopped off for something I had nothing to do with, and

husband, my provider, the leader of this family, can't get over a middle -aged

one -night stand. Like, what?

Summer is my child. She's not your kid. I had her tested.

My attorney, Jupiter, she set up a private DNA test for me.

99 .9%. You had a

private test done?

And again, behind your wife's back.

I have to protect you from yourself. I have to protect this family from you.

Look, she leaves or she stays and I leave.

Okay? But remember,

There is a big cough when I go.

And when I walk out the door, you see this woman.

Ooh,

this looks so good.

Look at that. I got a nice little big chicken chunk for you.

Come on, loved one. You gotta eat.

You know, your mom was on such a health kick when she was pregnant with you.

You know, back in those days, it wasn't like it is now.

I remember one time I offered her some reefer.

And your mama loved to get high with the girls. You hear me?

She looked at me and she said, Mae, I got to make a sacrifice with a greater

love.

And that greater love was you, baby.

You come from love.

It's within you.

Don't hold on to that.

Come back to the world. Come back to love.

I know what it's like to lose a child.

I lost a child.

To a miscarriage?

That pain?

That pain, you can't explain it.

And the anger?

Why me?

Why my child?

But it's love.

It's love, Heath.

Love is so much stronger than anger.

Hey. Hey.

Look, I just wanted to apologize about the whole Torrance thing.

I'm in a better place now, and that's no longer who I am.

You know, it's all good.

It's all good. Don't worry about it.

Yeah? Yeah. It's all good.

But I gotta go.

Okay.

You know...

I spent a lot of time in the islands, and I had plenty of time to think.

Sometimes you can think too much.

You know my mama a real one, and she don't hide nothing from me, even the

She don't.

Look, there's nothing we can do about all that in the past.

We're here now.

I know you don't know me.

You have no reason to trust me.

I feel awful bad.

You got squeezed into this situation.

I'm going to try my tempest to make it right.

Nah.

Ain't nothing you can do about it.

It's just...

Focus on moving forward.

All right?

All right.

Trevor Baker?

Yeah? May I help you?

Hi. My name is Detective Dolan. This is Detective Martin.

We're in the middle of investigating a missing person.

Seems to be a rash of those going on these days.

Yeah, well, what does that have to do with me?

I got some meat in my bag. Can we make this quick?

Sure thing.

Wouldn't want to ruin your pork chops.

Come, sit.

I'll be quick.

So we're searching for this young man, Robert Gonzalez.

You probably know him by the name of Tito.

For his rap name, Trapman, Tito, Gia, ring a bell.

I listen to 90s R &B.

I can't understand those rappers nowadays, so I wouldn't know anything

that.

I personally prefer the beats from the mumble rap.

My daughter makes me listen to it all the time on the way home from school,

I digress.

So, we studied the credit card receipts from the bar that he was last seen at,

and we found that you bought two drinks.

At that same spot.

Now, the cameras were down, but the cell phone data verifies you

both there.

Hmm.

Weird that you both are connected to the Sanders family.

You date the son, used to work at the bank.

He used to pleasure the new wife on occasion.

Look, I've been known to visit a few bars on that side of town.

But that doesn't make me a kidnapper, does it?

No.

No, Ms. Baker, it certainly does not.

Okay, well, you go ahead and take care of your food.

Make sure you cook those pork chops thoroughly.

I'll see you soon.

See, you've managed to weasel your way back onto my husband's, my estate.

Weasel?

Am I the weasel?

We had a deal.

No.

We made a deal based on a false pretense.

Summer is an heir to the Sanders fortune, but you tried to hide that

you can't hide the truth, boo.

Blood is thicker than your lies.

Cameron said we could stay as long as we need to.

But you took the money.

No, I wired it back to the account it came from.

Alexis Jones ain't no thief.

You're a slut.

You're a homewrecker. You're a liar, but not a thief.

Is that the pot calling the kettle black?

I think this pot must have been a little bit more shiny in order to get the

prize, right?

Oh.

Yeah, I got to give it to you. Yeah, you must have been doing your kegels

because you got all the way in.

But you know what they say about all good things.

Okay, that's a weird sharing quote.

I've got one from a good book I'd like to share with you.

Eat, drink, be merry, for the end is near.

Well, I'd like to share a quote from the Southside Chi -Town Book of Street

Knowledge.

Make sure you come correct, because I'm with...

Dr.

Brockman, he says your MRI is fine.

To a Maria, you're good.

It's probably more emotional than anything.

I empathize.

I know what it feels like.

Well, it's just a matter of time now. I signed the contracts with the Germans.

And I spotted this island in the Bahamas. Oh, it's beautiful.

We'll call it Sanded Island. What do you think?

to watch Wonder Woman. Remember on TV we always had to rush home.

We just had to catch it. You couldn't miss an episode.

You used to call her Wonderful Woman.

You would say, you would say, Wonderful Woman isn't afraid to

fight for justice.

Sammy, Trevor.

Does this feel a little deja vu for you two?

We're here again, huh?

What did you tell them exactly?

I didn't say a word, Carissa.

I promise.

I told them I didn't know anything.

And you're sure they're saying that the cameras weren't working?

Trocados.

I think you both did exactly what I told you to.

I have to admit.

He was inside of me.

You know, this is the part in our

conversation where I would normally feel me alive.

For your child.

For your family.

No. No.

I'm not going to teach that level.

I won't say a word.

I'm not going to do it because she already knows. Watch this.

Protect this family and you will be

safe.

I won't say a word.

This will be the first job we cut up.

I'll make sure I'm there tonight.

No, no, no. No more blood. It's too hot. It'll be too obvious.

It'd be too risky not to.

Not unless I give the order.

Okay?

Hey.

Yo. You gotta try one, young 'un.

Where'd he put that word to you?

Mrs. Jupiter, I am so glad that you have arranged to come.

It is a pleasure to finally meeting you.

Old man Benjamin Sanders, he loved you beyond measure.

Thank you, thank you. It's myth, myth, Jupiter.

I'm not the marriage type.

It's a fake fantasy that's on fairy tales and movies.

But humans aren't monogamous by nature.

Who said that marriage...

And monogamy are one and the same. I have four wives.

I love marriage.

I'm sure you do.

Four wives. Four personalities.

Four mood swings.

Never a dull moment in my household.

Well, who wants to live with dull moments anyway?

Sir, we've scanned it for wires. It's clean.

Flight blood check out.

My wives have prepared a feast for you.

Please. Join us.

Thank you.

Yo, be careful. It's spicy.

What?

It's not spicy to you? It's spicy.

Oh, man.

This is baby food.

You must not know about me.

You didn't bring us no water.

I forgot you can't hang.

See back in the water?

We just threw this bland ass shrimp in the trash can. Just remind me when we go

to New Orleans. I'm going to stick to my salads, all right?

Blasphemy.

Hey, come on, man. We're just bees and flies out here. It's getting late,

Brittany. Why are you bringing me out here? What's up?

Well, I'm super excited, but also, like, a little bit nervous.

Okay.

So, it's really big news. I kind of wanted to, like, get your advice before

come to camp.

So, you know how we...

I'm trying to do this whole modern family thing. Oh, come on, bitch. Spit

out. What is it?

Okay.

Well... I'm pregnant.

Wait, what?

Can you repeat that?

Three weeks.

I'm just hoping Cam will be excited.

Like, I think this could be the thing to make us... I don't know. I think this

is our chance to be, like, a real family, you know?

I'm just kind of nervous about how he's going to feel because last night, I got

like a weird vibe from him.

But, yeah.

What? I thought this would be good news.

Brittany.

Cam had a vasectomy.

He can't even have kids.

He did that because he didn't want little thoughts like you running around

trying to take the family fortune.

Wait.

Wait, wait.

So then that means... Damn!

All

right.

So what we have here is beef stew, suku suku, jolap rice,

malva pudding, pounded yams, and rum rice.

And many other Nigerian foods.

We are known for our spices and taste.

Well, no disrespect, sir, to you or your lovely wife, but I'm a strict vegan.

I don't support the killing of animals for food.

None.

The order of the universe.

One entity must lose its life in order for another entity to live.

No thing is wasted.

Does the field mouse not lose its life to the plow for your vegan meal?

Does the beater not die for your corn?

Well, we could debate philosophically all day.

But I suggest we just respect each other's interests and agree to disagree.

Yes.

Counselor.

Well, Mr. Sanders sent me here to negotiate peace on his behalf.

I have a massive jet lag.

I need a massage by the biggest African hands I can find at my hotel.

And I need a warm bath, though.

Shall we?

You Americans, always straight to business.

Listen, this is why you die from heart attacks and your cancer.

You need wisdom of Mother Africa.

This is Jupiter.

Take your time.

Enjoy your yams.

Once again, no disrespect, I'm not hungry.

May I present the offer now?

This is my son, Naja.

He also just arrived from America.

Hello.

Papa.

Shall I be afraid for my life?

As I recall, you gave your word.

Unlike your client, I will never break my word.

you are safe.

However, Nigel will discuss all business arrangements with you.

I, on the other hand, will be happy to discuss philosophy.

Shall we?

As you wish.

Trent? Sir? If we do not like her proposal, she is not

to make it back to America alive.

Sir?

Hey! Hi!

Where do I know you from?

Are you a Sanders?

Yeah.

Something like that.

Do you work about the house?

Uh, something like that.

It's complicated.

Right, right, right.

Have you checked out the pier yet since you've been here?

Uh, no, but I would love to.

I'll show you. My name's Raymond.

I'm Summer. Summer? Yeah. Well, let's go. It's right down here. I'll show you.

Okay. Yeah.

Of course.

Nigeria, in all of its beauty, the most popular country in all of Africa.

Over 500 languages spoken here.

Yes, but the language we all love, money.

Money is not everything.

Honor.

Integrity.

These are worth more than money.

Oh, let's skip the romanticism, shall we?

You and your family?

You support the bloodshed in war in Congo and other places.

This is not a Boy Scout's troop.

You speak with authority on matters you will never understand.

Africa is a complicated continent.

It can't be reduced to your puritanistic, utopian idealism.

Have you considered the offer?

It's pretty straightforward.

The Sanders Company has a legacy contract with a state -owned Chinese

construction company.

We will include one of your show companies in the construction of a

Kenya.

No show contracts for you.

You make money.

Clean.

We will make your family whole.

I will review your proposal with my father.

Due to pressure of the government, he only discusses business with me.

I understand.

But I'll be leaving tomorrow morning.

Can I have an answer by then?

You are a strong, intelligent woman.

Your skin has been keyed by my love.

I see things in people.

I think I see good in you.

Settle this, Nigel.

We can put an end to all of it.

No more violence.

It's what's best for us all.

My father, he's more practical.

I see.

Well, why don't you schedule to have my car take me back to the Hilton?

My hands, are they big enough?

Oh, it's firm.

Sweeney, you alright?

Yeah.

Yeah, I'm fine.

Bye.

On night duty?

Yeah, everybody's asleep, so it's the only chance I get to work out.

Right.

You need something?

Hmm? How do you do?

All right.

What's the version?

I need you to come outside.

You called me out here.

My niece isn't well.

My sister is dead.

I haven't had enough.

You said you had a plan to get her out of here.

I'm all ears.

I'm gonna need your help, sis.

What do you need me to do, sis?
