Lead biomedical scientist, Jeff Damelin,
will supervise the testing.

Israeli commandos, they got a lot of
things to worry about.

Hamas, Hezbollah guerrilla fighters,
they also have to be prepared at any

Navy SEALs and Israeli commandos are the
elite of the elite in their countries

and can cause a lot of devastation. But
today, we're taking all the brakes off,

and we're going to see just how much
devastation they can do when they're

running at full speed.

The simulator will take these stats and
create a battle to the death between

these two squads of special forces.

The winner will be the deadliest
warrior.

Wielding the weapons for the Navy SEALs,
Rob Roy, a 22 -year SEAL veteran.

Rob served in the SEALs around the
globe, from missions in the Arctic

combat duty in the deserts of Kuwait and
Iraq.

Every shot should be a kill.

Every knife thrust should be a kill.

Every time I pick up a weapon, no matter
what that system is, it's a kill

because I'm a warrior.

Rounding out the SEALs test team,
tactical explosives expert Colin Palmer.

In his six years with the SEALs, Colin
was deployed to over 30 countries.

You're going to see that the Navy SEALs
are the deadliest warrior. We're going

to be able to pick up the guns and
outshoot the Israeli commandos, no

The Navy SEALs were founded in 1961.

Their mission, to conduct counter
-guerrilla operations and to fill a gap

U .S. military special forces by
specializing in amphibious assault.

SEAL stands for Sea Air Land. It's the
environments in which we operate. It's a

way of getting into a combat zone,
whether we skydive in or we dive in or

basically walking into a target. So
wherever you have a problem, you can

the SEALs in to take care of it.

SEAL's first deployment was in Vietnam,
where they worked with the CIA to

capture and assassinate key personnel
behind enemy lines.

Navy SEALs are unconventional warriors.

You mix that with intelligence and
creativity and the opponent's going to

down.

SEAL units conduct small -scale raids in
hostile territory all over the globe,

including targeted operations in
Afghanistan and Iran.

They take on the most perilous missions
for their country in all conditions and

rely on their resolved and unparalleled
training.

The SEALs far exceed any other special
operations team on the planet. You and

your team have to complete the mission.
It's not the expectations. You want to

exceed the expectations.

We go beyond that.

But determination and training are also
the calling cards of Israel's special

ops commanders.

Handling the commando's weapons, Moti
Horenstein, a martial arts world

and veteran of the Israeli Airborne
Special Forces.

Joining Moti, former Israeli commando,
Mike Lee Kanarek.

Mike spent three years in the Orev
Galani Brigade, where his very first

was to go behind enemy lines.

We are born into war. Every child in
Israel knows war.

That's the way we are raised. If not, we
die.

Located between the Mediterranean Sea
and hostile nations, Israel has been at

war since its inception in 1948.

Israel is surrounded by enemies.

It's one of us against a hundred of
them. And they live within us and around

bones. We don't have the luxury to lose.

In Israel, military service is
mandatory.

The defense forces can mobilize 600 ,000
soldiers in 72 hours.

Key to the nation's survival, the
commandos.

More than a dozen highly specialized
units that launch missions to protect

borders and take out enemy threats.

We have to be on alert 24 -7. You have
to do your job right, because otherwise

they're going to take you and they're
going to take your family and the whole

country.

When your entire nation relies on you,
you must be the best. So how will

Israel's fearless commanders stack up
against the legendary U .S. Navy SEALs?

This is a very interesting matchup. We
have the Navy SEAL, perhaps the best

trained military men of the United
States of America, versus the Israeli

commandos, who are fierce fighters.

This, in my mind, is perhaps the closest
matchup we've had to date.

Both teams will use a ferocious array of
firepower to carry out their special

ops scenarios.

Lightweight rifles for long -range
attacks, handguns and knives for close

-quarter combat, and explosives for the
removal of any enemy.

And for Navy SEALs, the explosive of
choice is C4, a malleable plastic

bomb for blowing up boats and bridges.

We have some C4 plastic blocks over
here. They're normally used for

detonation. Looks like a stick of
butter, but it's a really dangerous

butter. How stable and reliable is this?

You can shoot it, and it's not just
going to go off. You can light it on

It's not going to blow up. But if you
initiate it with a blasting cap, it's

going to go.

The blasting cap is a small primary
explosive that's attached to the C4.

When the blasting cap is triggered, it
provides the activation energy for

detonation.

Navy SEALs are underwater demolition
specialists.

During the 1989 invasion of Panama, the
SEALs used 20 pounds of C4 to blow up

dictator Manuel Noriega's yacht,
allowing U .S. forces to capture it.

Now, to test the C4, the SEAL team must
take out two targets on a boat 200 yards

offshore. To reach the boat, Colin will
use a rebreather, allowing him to

breathe underwater without producing air
bubbles.

He generally only gets detected by, you
know, sending bubbles up to the surface,

so it's recycled oxygen that you're
using for a number of hours.

Colin carries the C4 in a canvas satchel
with a magnetic plate that will attach

to the boat's hull.

You want to go blow something up?

Yeah, let's do it. All right.

The Navy SEALs closed circuit rebreather
allows a diver to stay submerged for up

to eight hours.

To avoid the effects of the underwater
shockwave, Colin returns to shore to

remotely detonate the C4.

Okay, Colin, charges ready?

Charges set.

On three, two...

Mission complete.

That's what I'm talking about. Good to
go.

Just blew it straight up the middle and
kind of vaporized their seats, if you

will.

You seen where those guys went?

I don't right now, Doc. They're in the
fireball right now.

They got beamed up. That's a technical
term. Even if you've only lost a limb,

but now you're in the ocean, you're
going to end up dying. You have no

ability. The temperature of that water
is going to be cold, and so you're going

to lose your blood pressure pretty soon
thereafter.

Coming up, Israeli commandos blast back
with their own lethal explosive.

Who will be the deadliest warrior?

Inside the Fight Club, two elite teams
of Special Forces operatives are locked

in a bloody fight to decide who is
deadlier.

The Navy SEALs, America's mightiest
amphibious warriors, known for their

to adapt to any mission, on land or sea,
in any climate,

in any environment.

Or the Israeli Commandos, the Middle
East's most formidable specialized

soldiers, who have had so much combat
experience, even the Navy SEALs looked

them for instruction.

There is a reason why Navy SEALs come to
Israel to train.

We have stress drills. We have reality
drills. The way we approach drills is

lab -oriented.

It's combat -oriented.

How can you beat your teacher? How am I
going to beat the teacher?

I'll shoot him.

The SEALs come heavily armed with a
cutting -edge cache.

Three -four explosive.

M4 Co -Commando rifle.

Sig Sauer P226 pistol, and the Cold
Steel Recon 1 knife.

The Israeli commandos will return fire
with their own state -of -the -art

arsenal.

Semtex explosive, micro -galil assault
rifle, Glock 19 pistol, and the Ka -Bar

knife. The U .S. Navy SEALs have already
demonstrated their lethal power at C4.

But the Israeli commandos... Place their
confidence in a plastic explosive that

can take out terrorists with deadly
precision.

We don't believe in big booms. We
believe in precise booms. So the Stemtex

So if I put it in a household item, such
as a phone, a camera, even a laptop,

when the guy picks it up, he will never
know it's in there. So because it's

undetectable, it makes it a very deadly
weapon.

This undetectability was a prime
consideration when planning the 1996

assassination of Yahia Ayyash, the chief
bomb maker for Hamas.

and responsible for the killings of more
than 70 Israelis.

We had to get somebody on the inside to
get his phone, put the Semtex in the

phone, and then he answered the phone.
When we identified that it was him with

remote control, boom, it was done.

To test the effectiveness of a cell
phone bomb, a replica spiked with a half

ounce of Semtex is placed in the hand of
a ballistic gel torso.

with the same consistency as human
flesh.

Shock patches on bystanders will reveal
if the bomb is really precise enough to

avoid collateral damage.

Israeli commandos, you ready?

We're ready.

Three, two, one, call it in!

First and foremost, the hand that was
holding the cell phone. Gone. Completely

gone. Where is his hand?

Partway in his face.

I mean, the bones of the hands are
actually becoming shrapnel. But the most

important thing, the skull is depressed.

That's a kill. But what I want to know
is, is anybody... Collateral damage.

Exactly. Go check it out.

Nothing. So this guy just watched his
friend's head blow up. Sent in a message

right to his head. Let me spare you the
tour to shock patch, all right? Both of

these guys, totally fine. Totally fine.

Targets down.

All four collaterals walking away from
it.

That's why he's so good.

It's good damage to this individual, but
we're trying to kill people. We're

trying to kill a lot of people, him and
all of his friends.

Pound for pound.

Which is the world's most potent plastic
explosive?

What we're going to do is take a pound
of C4 head -to -head against a pound of

Semtex. So, Colin, you'll be setting up
your C4 in the outhouse on the left.

Moti, you'll be setting up your Semtex
in the outhouse on the right.

detonating the two explosives in
identical enclosed spaces, allows Jeff

to compare the amount of pressure each
one generates.

Okay, boys, we're looking at the
outhouse on the left. One pound of C4.

Paul, are you ready? Ready.

Three, two, one, let it rip!

Holy... Ah, baby, yeah!

That'll do it.

Last measure.

270 pounds of pressure per square inch.

Anything around 100 psi will give you
traumatic limb amputation. Yeah, it's

basically amputating your most important
limb, your head.

So obviously the head is completely
thrown away from the body. The spine is

almost completely pulled out from the
body. I mean, you've got the liver

out. The entire insides are basically
obliterated. Medical term for that would

be mush.

Can the Israelis detonate as powerful a
blast?

Okay, Moteen, you got your work cut out
for you, man.

Three, two, one.

The Semtex recorded a shockwave

of 324 pounds per square inch. Over 50
PSI more than the C4.

Another decapitation. Again, it's a
head. It's completely thrown away from

body. But look at this body. It's
completely charred. The body has melted.

you have a nice, big cavitary lesion
right in the belly. Those lungs in there

are completely collapsed.

They're popped.

They're bleeding.

This guy's dying on every single level.
Every organ in this body has failed.

Luckily for him, his head is somewhere
else, and he can't feel the pain.

I think we did the job.

Both explosives show devastating
obliteration.

But which one does our team believe
gives their warrior an edge?

C4 versus Semtex. Just going off a TSI
reading.

270 for the C4, 324 for the Semtex. On
that basis alone, edge

Semtex. Max, what do you think? Numbers
do speak for themselves.

Edge Semtex.

For explosive weapons, the edge goes to
the Israeli commandos.

Coming up, both teams unload powerful

It's a duel to the death to determine
who will be the deadliest warrior.

U .S. Navy SEALs versus Israeli
commandos. Two of the world's most

fit fighting forces, whose training is
designed to weed out the weak and create

highly conditioned, cut -throat combats.

Which one will win in a battle to the
death?

We have an advantage over the Israelis
because they were broken up into water

troops, air troops, whereas we were able
to operate in different environments,

different climates, and different
people. We operate worldwide.

It is the toughest program in the world.

Our Israeli commandos believe their
training gives them an edge.

The kid in America starts training at 18
years old. We are training because

we're kids.

As you grow up in Israel, they tell the
kids, okay, you're going to have to be

the best because you're going to have to
fight. And then when you become 16,

soon you're going to get deployed.

It's a national system raising a
warrior.

Special forces rely on surprise.

So victory could depend on who was
quickest with a concealed firearm.

The Israeli commandos sidearm, the Glock
19 pistol, designed for concealment and

clandestine kills.

Glock 19, very accurate, 23 ounces, 7
inches long, very easy to carry and very

easy to handle. How many rounds in the
magazine typically?

It can vary between 15 to 30.

The Glock also has the ability to make
it fire underwater. It will work no

matter what.

The Navy SEAL's sidearm of choice, the
P226, a no

-nonsense handgun for any combat zone.

It's a magazine -fed semi -automatic
pistol. The magazine's usually about 15

rounds with one in the chamber, so you
have 16 ready to shoot somebody.

It's like the workhorse of the field
teams right now. It's one of the ones we

take out in the water with us and drop
it in the sands. It's manufactured

extremely well under the harsh
conditions we normally put it under.

To test how accurate these two special
forces... Ah, under pressure, the team

has prepared a close quarters, high
stakes hostage rescue.

We've set up this little alfresco
restaurant, but it has a problem.

Terrorists have taken hostages.

What we need you to do is take out these
lamps to neutralize the ambient light,

take both terrorists out, and avoid any
collateral damage.

You guys up to the challenge?

Yes, sir. Absolutely.

The Navy SEALs will fire first.

Colin, you ready?

Ready. On three, two...

All right. 13 .84 seconds.

Quick visual inspection.

Looks like none of our innocent
bystanders have been harmed.

Wow. Oh, yeah. This is the perfect of a
shot that you can deliver. I mean, you

shot him almost right through the eye.
We take his mask off. You actually hit

him three definite hits right through
the skull. Looks like you might have

missed with one of them, but you got
three right in the head. So definitely

killed the guy you were looking for here
and completely unscathed. Take a look

at the partner in crime who jumped out
of the kitchen.

This is going right into the skull. This
is going from the temple. Both of these

are killed.

But, I mean, he didn't stop there. If
you look at his chest, he delivered one

right through the heart. He did his job.
I don't think people realize how

difficult it is to get that accurate
with a handgun at that distance.

Yeah, I can beat it. Modi,

But, Mody, I got to ask you, man.

You took more than five rounds to take
these lights out, but as soon as that

came through the door, it was bam, bam,
bam, threw you right in the chest like

nothing. We don't think about lights.

Well, I can say one thing. There was no
collateral damage on this.

Here you see two shots, one right
through the temple. This is a kill. This

interesting shot. It goes right through
the spinal cord. This is also a kill

shot. Let's take a look at his friend.

Look at this guy here. He's got one in
the axle, which is the armpit. This

definitely collapse the lung. And then
he delivers two here on the other side.

You combine all these, this is another
kill.

But you know what I really like about
what I saw from Moti?

Is I saw the training come through.

When that guy came through the wall, I
just saw the light go on in you, man.

Tiger. Tiger turned on, three rounds,
dead in the chest. It was amazing to

watch. Each Special Force soldier had
two confirmed kills and no collateral

damage. Nice.

It's now up to our team to decide which
warrior has the edge.

Based on their performance in our test
and in the hands of our shooters, I

it's very close to a toss -up between
the Glock and the Sig Sauer.

However, I saw a little bit better
shooting from Colin with the Sig Sauer,

I'm giving it my edge.

The mid -range weapons, the edge goes to
the Navy SEALs.

Coming up, both teams try to slash their
way to victory as the battle for the

title of deadliest warrior continues.

The U .S. Navy SEALs versus the Israeli
commandos.

Both warriors are specialists in
counterterrorism. But while Navy SEALs

around the globe to take out their
target, undercover Israeli commandos

daring missions to bring down the enemy
next door.

Part of our tactic is to do the job from
inside, putting on the same clothes,

the same look. You have to be really,
really good to be able to stay alive in

this environment.

In one famous operation, after the
massacre of Israel's athletes at the

Olympics, Israeli commandos, disguised
as tourist couples, hunted down the

murderers in Lebanon.

The seals are better because they adapt
to different situations around the

world. Our enemies change from border to
border, so whether it's the gear we

carry or the doors that we have to
breach, our tactics and techniques have

developed to address those things.

Unlike most military units, these
special forces operate within inches of

target, making them highly skilled short
-range killers.

For close combat, the Israeli commandos
brandish a legendary fixed battle blade,

the K -Bar Combat 9.

A serrated steel slab.

Mike, what do you got? I am bringing a
full -size K -bar, 7 -inch blade. I

personally like the long blade because
first half close to the handle is

considered the blocking part of the
knife, and the top is the slash and

The shorter the knife gets, those two
purposes condense into one knife.

Therefore, it gives me much more defense
blocking volume, and obviously it gives

me much more penetration.

But the Navy SEALs believe they can be
just as lethal with a smaller close

combat blade.

The Recon One Knife.

The razor -sharp, saw -toothed edge that
cuts like a chainsaw.

I got the Cold Steel Recon 1. It's made
out of AUS -8 steel. It's got a serrated

edge on it. It also has what they call a
tanto point. This is used for getting

in the body arm. It's about three and a
half inches long. I can cut tendons. I

can jab up and cut the carotid artery. I
can stab.

I got another three or four inches. I
have to deal with that extra length

in and out of the body. So it's not
necessarily size. It's how you use it.

good to go.

How do these blades perform in battle?

Find out.

Jeff attaches high -tech sensors to each
warrior's wrist.

against a ballistics gel torso.

Hey, Michael, you ready?

Ready. High speeds up.

On three, two, one, come on.

The accelerometer clocked Mike's
stabbing speed

at 19 miles per hour.

There's no question about it. He
basically turned his belly into jello

This guy's done.

You've got the airway. You've got the
major blood vessels in the neck. You've

hit the spinal cord, cutting off the
brain messages to the body. This guy's

done. He was dead when I first contacted
with him because I was going for the

artery right here. Everything after
that, it was just more violence.

It's now the SEALs' turn to unleash
their recon one knife.

Rob, you ready?

You've decapitated him, you've amputated
him, you've disemboweled him, and you

have a knife sitting inside his neck
into his heart. I'm guessing they don't

you carve the turkey at Thanksgiving
anymore.

All I saw was your arm doing this and
blood going everywhere, man. It was like

blood fountain with you getting right
into it, man.

Looking at the numbers, you had 32 feet
per second hand speed on that compared

to Michael's 29 feet per second. That's
just under the average Olympic boxer

hand speed for a punch. And those guys
are wearing pads on their knuckles.

You're coming at a guy with this.

Take a look at Rob Tandy work.

The 3 -inch blade allows me to get it
nice and tight to my opponent. If I have

to use a knife, it's going to be really,
really close tight if I have to do

that. The problem with the 3 -inch blade
is you'll get there second, versus if

you have a longer blade, you'll have the
reach advantage.

The K -Bar has the advantage because of
its length, because I got to the target

first.

Both sides have delivered death blows,
but which warrior does our team believe

has the edge?

I really don't know how to call this
one. We had hand speeds off both these

32 feet per second versus 29 feet per
second, not enough to say that one is

significantly faster than the other. And
I have a feeling that the techniques

that we saw could be easily changed up
by either guy. They could have easily

switched knives and done very similar
work. I want to say this is almost too

close to call. I agree. I'm going to say
dead even.

In short -range weapons, the warriors
are even.

Coming up, both sides unleash their
rapid -fire machine guns.

Inside the Fight Club, our warrior
experts are within striking distance of

ultimate battle.

But who will win?

Israel is going to get a lesson.

We're going to teach them what it's like
to be a real warrior. We'll teach them

to think outside the box.

We're faster, we're smarter, we're more
adaptable in any given situation.

We'll put those guys to shame in
everything we do.

In a real -world Israeli commando
against Navy SEAL, they would have no

We live in a war zone. You live that
combat on a daily basis. You do daily

missions.

So to us, hands -on experience gives us
the edge.

The Israeli commando's rapid -fire
weapon of choice is a compact killer,

micro -galil, an assault rifle optimized
for obliteration.

Bringing to the table a micro -galil. We
wanted a weapon that was more reliable

for the environment with the sand. It
was full -size for infantry units, but

they made a shorter version, so it was
more maneuverable. How many rounds in

magazine? 35 rounds in the magazine,
ready to go.

Are you worried about decreasing
stopping power with that shorter barrel?

I'm not worried about anything. The
bullet is going where it's going to be.

But the Navy SEALs believe they have the
better gun for this firefight.

The M4 Colt Commando, an assault rifle
so accurate it can kill a man from 2

feet away.

I'm bringing another version of the M16.
It's an M4 Colt Commando. There's a 30

-round magazine in this weapon.

All right, and what's the click rate on
the gun? This is anywhere from like 450

to about 750.

Whoa. What it does is the twist inside
the barrel allows the bullet to fly a

little bit straighter. I'll have the
back to fire power with it.

To gauge the accuracy of the assault
rifles, Jeff devises a test that will

assess the shooting skills of each
operator.

Gentlemen, these targets here, innocent
bystanders, do not hit these targets.

That's your target. This pig is mounted
on a tactical robot controlled by Max.

You'll each start with full magazines,
75 feet out, under a 90 -second time

limit. I'm going to be looking where
you're actually hitting and making sure

that each round individually would be a
kill in and of itself.

Navy SEALs are first to fire.

On three!

34 seconds.

Sweet.

Okay, so let's take a look. The grouping
of your shots here is just remarkable.

It almost looks like you put your
initial here. I mean, you had 30 rounds,

it looks pretty darn close to 30 in this
pig. And all of these shots kill. But

here's the key.

Look at the exit wound. I mean, this is
just sheer carnage. You've torn half of

this pig off.

That's what these bullets do. They
basically tumble and tear their way

causing that permanent cavity and just
tearing out the rest of the body. I can

put those rounds anywhere on this body.
30 in, 30 out.

The M4 riddled the target with all 30
rounds, avoiding every innocent

Okay, Mike, do you think you can do
better? I think so.

48 seconds.

Sweet.

Nice work, Michael.

Thank you, sir.

Again, beautifully grouped shot mid
-chat.

And abdomen.

I have to admit, Mike, I'm a little bit
worried that only 21 of these hit on

target, and two of them were grazes.

Even if I missed him a couple times,
he's clearly dead.

Importantly, the guys back here seem to
be free of any bits of those rounds that

were broken through, any ricochets.

They're good. To me, this mission had a
50 -50. 50, take out the terrorists. The

other 50%, no collateral damage.

Yes, I sacrificed some speed, but I was
the entire time tactically sound on

balancing.

I've hit the bystanders.

Which warrior do our experts think took
this round?

I've got to give it to the Navy SEAL.
All of his rounds were on target,

grouping, and a faster amount of time.
That holds a lot of water for me. 30

shots, 30 hits, 34 seconds.

Edge, M4.

In long -range weapons, the Edge goes to
the U .S. Navy SEALs for the M4 Colt

Commando.

Our experts have completed their tests.

But for a final assessment, one must
also look at the warrior behind the

Grady Commandos bring one more factor to
the fight, their own bodies.

They practice the self -defense method
called Krav Maga, Hebrew for full

fighting. Krav Maga is designed...

to survive an all -out attack against an
enemy that's willing to die.

The first thing I did, I block.

From this position, I drop him down on

I step on the head, and each one of
those...

Probably break something in his body,
and he died a long time before. But I

The Navy SEALs have their own hand -to
-hand combat system called Close Quarter

Defense, or CQD.

The CQD system is specific to what we
do. You can't use your rifle, you can't

use your pistol, you can't use your
pistol. Then you want to go ahead and

your hand as edge weapons to eliminate
the threat or take down a person.

Whatever works, whatever tool I have at
my disposal to eliminate the threat,

I'll use it.

Very comfortable fighting anybody, even
an Israeli commando. If it's a live or

die situation, I'll be ripping the flesh
off somebody's body with my teeth if I

have to.

Our experts have run their final test
for the showdown between the U .S. Navy

SEALs. And the Israeli commandos, two of
the best trained and most lethal

special forces in the world.

Now they're about to find out who is
deadliest.

For explosives, we pitted the Navy SEAL
C4 against

the Israeli commandos Semtex.

C4 versus Semtex, I have to give it to
Semtex because it does give you the

bigger bang.

More lethality for the same weight of
high explosive.

Edge, Israeli Commando.

For long -range weapons, the Navy SEAL
M4 Colt Commando.

Faced off against the Israeli Michael
Galil.

I'm giving my edge to Colt Commando. We
saw some fantastic shooting from that

gun in Rob's hand.

And that's some deadly accuracy.

In mid -range combat, we compared the
Navy SEAL's P226 with the Israeli

commando's Glock 19.

Both of them are great pistols, but the
Navy SEAL was able to do his mission in

less time. I give the edge to the SIG.

For short -range weapons, the Israeli
commando's K -Bar was just as deadly as

the Navy SEAL's recon 1 -9.

Both warriors are even.

Max now loads the results into the state
-of -the -art computer program that

will run the simulation a thousand
times.

The only thing left to do at this point
is fire it up and see who is the

deadliest four.

After a thousand battles, our Navy SEALs
emerged victorious with 518 kills,

while our Israeli commandos 482. These
guys are basically neck and neck the

whole way through, and it just goes to
show what happens when you pit the elite

of the elite right up against each
other.

Overall, I like the warrior concept of
the Israeli commandos.

They just didn't bring in a long -range
weapon, and that made the difference.

I think you can pit any other military
unit against us. We're always going to

rise to be the deadliest warrior. I
think there's a mutual respect here.
