there's nothing in there that could

possibly aid me in any way.

To ensure 100 % blindness, I'll tape
coins over my eyes. I'll place a

My approach has always been to take
classic demonstrations and think about

to present them in modern day. I want to
show the world for the very first time

how you meet.

multiple elephants literally vanish.

Houdini did one elephant on stage in a
controlled environment.

What would fool people back then, the
early 1900s, does not fool people today.

Absolutely. He had a box. Right. It was
a big venue, like a Roman -style

amphitheater. What they did is these
four guys would roll this box out.

And the elephant would come on stage and
walk inside of the box. And then they

would turn the box and you'd look inside
of the box and the box was empty.

And then 20 guys would roll the box.

That's traditional magic. I want to just
kind of blow up tradition. I want to

take this from the theater and bring it.

outside i want to do it in an area
that's open there's no way to hide the

elephant surrounded by a human chain i
want people to literally connect their

hands together maybe even fasten their
hands together like rope or tie them

zip ties or even maybe even handcuffs
what would be the purpose of having

people like that well to obviously show
that the elephants are not going out the

side or the back just random people
random people Usually your audience is

in front of you, maybe some on the
sides, usually never behind what's going

which makes this demonstration almost
impossible.

How do we cover these elephants to make
them disappear?

We want to have multiple layers of proof
that the elephants can't go anywhere.

If we use something that has...

The ability to completely surround 360
degrees the elephant, so that's layer

number one. It has to go up quick and
come down quick. But are we worried

like, the elephants maybe getting scared
and stampeding or something like that?

That's an excellent point, Jesse. You
know, here we are with a crowd of

spectators. If this elephant decides to
go off on the deep end, you know,

there's no way to stop it.

You know, accidents do happen with
animals and magic acts.

Let's get some baby elephants here for
some rehearsals.

Chris, I can guarantee two to three
elephants.

Please don't screw this up, all right?

Trust me, I got you on this.

He's exuding a little too much
confidence. It makes me uncomfortable

screwed up some of these other
demonstrations, and this demonstration,

no room for error.

We're going to make 40 ,000 pounds of
elephants.

Pooh! Gone.

All right. I'm going to be right now.

This demonstration features a herd of
elephants, a human chain. In an outdoor

location, Chris will attempt to make the
elephants disappear with a 360 -degree

view. Category of magic, vanish.

Hi. Hi. How are you? Good, how are you?
Could you do me a favor? Yeah. Go and

pick.

Any stuffed animals that you like that
you think are me, okay?

Dog and a bear.

All right, cool. This bear right there.
And let's see what he gets me. I hope

it's a cat.

Put them down on the ground anywhere you
want.

Okay. I want you to point to any animal
you like.

The dog, okay?

Before I do this, sure you want the dog?
You can change your mind.

No, I'm good with that.

Which one? The elephant?

Yeah. Okay. Here, you hold on to the
dog.

Hold on to the cat.

The polar bear, since that goes with
your outfit there.

The elephant just started walking
around, and it would fall over.

It was amazing.

It was mind -blowing.

It doesn't have batteries.

Does it have batteries?

Can you open it up? Here, come take a
look.

Take a look. You want one?

All the stuffing just started flying out
of this stuffed animal

that was walking around two seconds ago.

I've been grooming Kristen for some
time, but now it's time to catch her off

guard and test her ability.

See if she can handle the pressure. What
do we see?

This is a routine that I've had for a
long time. I'm just, thank you, Doug.

I knew the time would come when Chris
would say, bring it.

And the time is now, which is kind of
overwhelming. How long is the routine?

I've got a minute. Do we have music? Not
with this right now. All right, but I

think you're going to put something
together for me to watch.

The routine, right, because we're going
to redress it with everything else.

Okay, let's see.

Okay, I'm not trying to be rude or
anything.

Okay. But that's not what I had in mind.

It's not just a ring routine. They make
them fly.

I make them fly later in the routine.
Make them fly. Do they float?

I mean, they float.

If I can just finish the routine, I
mean.

If you can make them fly, like.

Well, yeah, I mean, then I would go, you
know, into something here.

The problem is, it's what you expect
from a beautiful blonde doing magic. You

told me you wanted to be provocative,
right?

That's not provocative.

You in a cocktail dress is not
provocative.

You doing something that people don't
expect, then people will take note. What

want to do is propose an opportunity for
you. I'm putting together a limited

engagement over at the Luxor. Uh -huh.

show, something that's going to reign

We play a little game. It's a staring

who will remain frozen.

What you see is not always what you get.

Perspective is an amazing technique
that, if employed properly, might be a

method for my L .S. advantage.

Chris wants a big area.

Chris has had a lot of wild ideas.

You know, like Houdini has banished one
elephant. He wants to banish a herd of

elephants.

Audience here.

There's a lot to be figured out. You
know, how many people are there going to

be? Where are they going to be standing
in relationship to the elephant? How

many elephants are there going to be? We
got the elephant in this area here,

herd of elephants.

And then big people.

Where can we find a large enough venue?

for us to do this demonstration.

Where'd you get those? These are from my
personal collection.

Chris wants to be able to do this in the
round. And from a magic perspective,

that's very difficult.

Normally you have, this is the front
view and that's your only view.

Let's go with like a fabric, something,
you know, that's going to be really big.

So we need to have something that's
lightweight. It's easy to handle.

This demonstration is a monumental
undertaking in terms of the size of the

fabrication, the scale of the illusion,
and the number of people it's going to

take to pull it off.

How hard do you think it would be to
take a pencil eraser and punch it right

through a bill?

Try it.

This don't work at all. Can't do it. I
don't know.

I'm trying.

I want you to see what we're going to do
here. I'm going to take the pencil.

I'm just going to bring it straight
down, just like so. I want you to see

it's completely fair. As a matter of
fact, take a look.

Bottom. See that?

Now watch. This is what's going to
happen.

You see that? It goes right through.

See that? Right through.

Now check it out. I want you to see 360
degrees.

It literally goes.

See that? See that? Completely goes
through.

Completely fair.

Now, you can actually see the other side
as well. I want you to see that. Look

at that.

Now, the hard part, the hard part is
actually moving the whole. Watch. It's

moving the whole. Watch.

Yes!

You see that? Yes!

Why?

And you can actually examine everything.
Take it all out. Take it out for

yourself.

Yeah. I've been grooming Kristen for
some time now. I believe she will be

amazing in my live touring show,
Whimsical. But before I can commit to

going to put her in my live show at the
Luxor.

And see how she can handle that type of
pressure. So, you want me to take you

with two of the most challenging and

physically intense pieces in his entire
show.

You know, the straitjacket is very
dangerous, but a lot of it's mental. A

it's in my head.

And what I do is I turn myself just a
couple, gently.

To get me facing the audience.

So the next thing is, for me, it's all
about this movement, which is the core.

Get yourself going.

Now if I want to stop, look how quick I
stop.

I've hung upside down, but I have never
hung upside down by my ankles five

stories over an audience. That I have
never done.

Here we go. That's just before I can...
Just relax. You tell us when you're

ready.

Okay. Here we go.

You've got to be in the moment, focus on
what's going on, and get comfortable

with the environment.

If she does that, she'll be fine. I want
you to imagine you have the straight

jacket on, and I want you to go through
the movement as if the straight jacket's

invisible. I want to see what you're
going to do.

What?

Stop, stop, stop.

If she's freaking out thinking about
what's going to happen, she will never

able to pull this shit off.

I'm doing the most dangerous stuff I've
ever done. I'm doing the most physically

and mentally demanding stuff I've ever
done. This is a really big deal for me.

Well, dude, it's one more time. No
freaking out. I'm going to put the

you. Chris has this vision of the way
the straight jacket is supposed to look,

the way it's supposed to go. I'm really
concerned about not being able to live

up to that vision.

Think about what you see in your mind.
Let the whole thing play out for

yourself. Am I good? Am I good?

breathing. In through your nose, out

through your mouth. Don't hold your
breath. You all right? Yeah. Okay, so

you're going to be there. Oh, wow. And
now they're going to say, are you ready?

You're not using gravity, Kristen.

You're doing both arms at the same time.
Do one arm first.

Okay. You're going to choke yourself
that way.

You okay?

Yeah.

Yeah. There you go.

Don't drop the jacket.

You got to keep your arms like this.

Here is a wonderful thing that you can
use to your advantage.

It can allow you to be much more in the
moment, much more focused, and able to

problem solve when things are wrong.

You're freaking out. I think you did
good.

I think how great this will be, you
representing women in magic.

You're doing something and dominating
what most men can't do.

Right? Yeah. That's what it's about. And
I know you can do it.

Yeah. Okay?

Coming up. If the elephants aren't in
those enclosures, I don't think we can

have an audience.

For

me,

it's all about process.

When people watch me do a demonstration,
they have no clue.

The process.

Wow. A lot of these things that began 20
years, 25 years ago are the actual

demonstrations that I do and believe.

I think that's great. I got John Farrell
20 years ago to work for me for free

based on a dream.

I discovered at a very early age, I
think I was about 16 years old, when I

up with some illusion concepts that I
just had built. I rushed into it. We

money and it didn't work.

So I came up with a system. For me, it's
a process.

The first step is to take what's in my
mind, doodle it out, have John create a

tableau of what that thing looks like.
Then we move on to a model, which is

typically about 12 inches in size, and
we look at it and see if it physically

will work.

When we're happy with that, then we move
on to what I call a garbage bag test, a

full life model, even though it's put
together with spit and glue.

and literally do it out of cardboard,
duct tape, and staple gun to put this

together and see, is it the right
proportion? And will it function within

movement and techniques that I'm
employing? When we're happy with that

then we move on to the prototype.

And once I'm happy with it, then we'll
actually finish it into a working

demonstration. And that process could
take a year, and in some cases could

15 years.

Take the birth machine, for example. We
built a PVC tube model of it.

Literally, in my mom's house, I had a
little laboratory there.

And we probably built three versions of
it. And one of which, the last one, is

in my live show, Believe, at the Luxor.

Which I perform ten times a week.

46 weeks a year, and I'll be doing it
for the next five years.

Is the guy cool? We can rehearse with
him? Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Chris wants to rehearse with Baby
Elephants. So I've been making phone

working my connections, and I got the
next best date.

Check it out, huh? Come on, look at
them. Look how cute they look, huh?

Zero's in the think tank, and he's so
confident. I can get Baby Elephants. I

get Baby Elephants.

And then he brings me...

Donkeys. You were supposed to get me
baby elephants.

You got me two donkeys.

What is he, a jackass?

Come on.

Take him back to the trailer. Come on.

Come on.

You're going to roll yourself in.

So now.

That was not a. Okay, cool. So I've
rolled in. You're going to roll. You're

going to roll in. So you're like, if
you're over there, your hands come in

Right. And you just, you know, roll
yourself. Okay. Flip it over. Chris

challenged me to prove myself.

and I'm still feeling a little nervous
about the metamorphosis. The

is not an easy feat, and this box of
fire certainly is not either. Your legs

will be up in the air. Now they'll
disconnect you over here, okay?

If she wants to be on my live tour
Wednesday, she's got to deliver.

Now you're going to lift up. You're
going to get your mask and your goggles.

Right, and this is hard right there. I
say, come on, boys. They get the lid on.

Now you know what you have to do. Think
about it.

But I have yet to put all of the pieces
together, and that's what I'm kind of

nervous about because there's no way for
me to practice that until I'm in the

theater in front of Chris.

Okay, how are you feeling, Kristen?

Okay. Well, now we're ready for the
pyro. What? Cool.

So I'm a little nervous about how all of
that's going to come together.

Now it's going to stop.

Now you're going to do your, wait for it
to stop, to come down.

Boom, boom.

And you're going to walk.

Right, but you're not going to stay here
because you have a wall of fire on your

hand. Where do I go? Is this my mark
here? No, your mark is as far as you can

go. Over here.

You don't want to be, you will feel
this, the amount of heat that comes from

this wall of fire right over here is
intense.

In magic, people's demonstrations are
definitely prized possessions.

And for someone to give you that
demonstration,

is the biggest gift that you can give
someone.

Pyro's going to go off. You're going to
stay still.

Pyro, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.

This is his baby. This is his life.

And I'm now getting to perform that?

Like, that's insane.

Everybody good?

Okay, here we go.

That pyro, it blows.

Like, there's a reason Chris is wearing
a gas mask.

That is intense heat.

I thought she'd be overwhelmed by all
the pyrotechnics.

But she did great. She was focused.

Good job, everybody.

The straight jacket, on the other hand,
is another story. She's got to step up

her game with the straight jacket and be
able to perform both in front of an

audience if she wants to be part of my
live tour Wednesday. Great job, Kristen.

This is something that I have never seen
anybody do. I mean, Houdini vanished

one elephant, right?

And that was it.

I want to do more than one. I don't
care.

Three would be better than two.

Chris is pretty upset right now.

Spiro can't seem to find a herd of
elephants for this vanish. He found two.

They're all the way down in Florida. And
now that location is becoming a problem

as well.

We need to have people holding hands,
handcuffed to each other. It's fine,

Those people will have to be around the
barricades, outside the barricades.

The state of Florida won't let you have
elephants, like, outside of this place?

They need a barricade between the public
and the elephants. You've heard all the

disasters and all the things that have
happened with elephants, right? Most of

them have happened in Florida.

What are the barricade requirements?

If the elephants aren't in those
enclosures, I don't think we can have an

audience. I mean, it's just the law of
the state. I don't give a shit. How we

it, whatever we have to do. I just don't
want to go through this when we go

there and it's like, you know, we don't
have a huge, crazy, unbelievable, holy

factor. Okay.

I don't know why. Spiro, why don't you
tell us?

Honestly, one of my biggest concerns
with the metamorphosis is my hair

I was so focused on just finding

But I found two more in California, and
it's a lot closer.

Dini made one elephant disappear in

elephants disappear.

And I'd love to use this place. You
think that would be possible?

Unfortunately, no.

Somehow, I have to find more elephants
in a location that can handle it.

Whenever you're working with animals,
whether it's the scale of an elephant or

something really, really tiny, it's
always a challenge to manipulate them.

grab an almond, whatever you want. Just

lot of passion, and a lot of talent. So

If you look at this as a first test for
Kristen, she exceeded my expectations.

I'm so proud of you. And I think that
she has a bright future if she stays on

believe in a dream, that truly anything

Chris believes in me to this extent.

I think that I can really be my own
worst critic, and I think that I can be

hard on myself. And the fact that Chris
is like, Kristen, you have this, is like

the biggest confidence boost there is.

I don't know how he did it, but you've
got to give props to Spiro, man. He came

through in a big way. He secured four
elephants from the Shrine Circuit.

He also secured the 50 -yard line at
Missouri State University.

Now, the thing about Bo is he is one of
the largest elephants. You haven't seen

him really yet. He's big. He's big.

Not only was Spiro able to pull off
finding a herd of elephants for us in

Missouri, he's actually found one of the
largest elephants in North America.

Well, there's two accounts on him.

Now that I'm actually here and
everything's fallen into place, it's

Chris is actually going to pull this one
off. He's not going to vanish just one

elephant, but he's actually going to
outdo Houdini and vanish a herd of

elephants.

Not on stage like Houdini did. Chris is
going to do it out in a football field.

He's going to do that herd of elephants
with a group of people surrounding it

the entire time.

Ready? We got all of the elements. Now
it's time for me to meet the challenge.

As you can see completely around you, we
have four elephants literally in the

middle of the playing field, completely
in the round, 360 degrees.

I've also asked for 40 people so that we
can create, for the very first time,

ladies and gentlemen, a human chain that
will be handcuffed around three of the

sides, creating another layer.

Attach it to your left hand. Head on
that side over there. Attach it to your

left hand.

We have Banachek, Nathan, John that are
handcuffing everybody to each other.

Left hand out. Okay.

So we're going to create literally a
human chain around three sides of the

elephant.

Vanishing a herd of elephants is one
thing, but handcuffing people around

that's extremely dangerous.

You know, we have Kristen who is part of
our...

Excellent. Thank you. And I have a
surprise.

Kristen, are you here? You're right
there. I have a surprise for you.

I asked Larry, the trainer, and you can
ride one of the elephants while we

handcuff them right now.

Yes, which one do you want to go on?

Is it okay? Can I go on both? You've got
to be careful getting up there. Are you

serious? Yes, be very careful. Go ahead,
Larry, whenever you're ready.
