This week is monumental. I have my fifth
year anniversary of Believe at the

Luxor, and I have my friend Shaq coming
to town to celebrate.

I've known Shaq for some time, and he
loves magic. He's like a kid. He really

is. I've been getting a bunch of crazy
videos from

Shaq. You know what, Chris Angel?

Believe!

And in return, I send him videos of me
playing basketball.

That's how it's done.

So it's been this little kind of fun
rivalry.

You would never think that Shaq loves
magic and that Chris Angel and Shaq are

like best friends and they challenge
each other. It's pretty amazing.

He actually went to the press.

and started telling the press that I'm
going to levitate him.

No way.

I challenge Chris to see if he can
levitate me. All 355 -pound world.

And this has been going on for almost a
year, and he tells people that I'm going

to levitate him. The desire to levitate
has been around since time itself, and

magicians have capitalized on that
desire.

One of the pioneers that really kicked
it in the ass was definitely Keller in

1904. I'm trying to embrace what Keller
did and take the art of levitation into

the future.

Has anybody ever levitated anybody that
big? No, no. I mean, think about it.

We've been doing levitations for years,
and one of our requirements is about 99

pounds, you know?

Typically, magicians are levitating
girls who are 100 pounds tops, and

soaking wet.

And that's basically due to the
limitations of the technique.

Shaq weighs three times that much.

I'm talking about doing this outside, by
the way, not on stage.

Right. In the middle of the daytime,
something of epic proportion.

How high? I'm talking about stories.

Can we use a forklift?

I'm going to levitate back so fucking
high he's going to look like a child

because he will be that high over my
home. I think we get him on a basketball

It could be ketchup.

Whatever you want, just name it for me.

Why do you love magic so much?

You know, when I was growing up, I'd
have to babysit my brothers and sisters,

I would have to do things to, you know,
just keep their attention.

So I used to do a little magic. Not real
good magic, but it was magic. So I've

seen all of the magicians, but this guy
right here, minds of myself, young, good

-looking, he's a hard -working guy, and
he just does different tricks, and I

just, I challenged him. I said, okay, I
got a trick I know you can't do.

Levitate me.

If I could do this, you and I, man,
we're in the history books.

This is why he's number one in the
story.

happen as I start to rub them. You're
going to feel that. Use your imagination

and tell me when you feel it getting
warmer.

You felt that?

Just remove your hand for a second. I
have not touched anything, have I? No.

I want you to turn your hand over and
show the camera. Open it up.

you want to know how I did that, don't

Yes.

Very simple. You get some ash on your
finger.

Make sure it's not hot ash because it
will hurt.

Then you ask somebody, hey, I want to
try something with you. Just take both

your hands, put them out like this. Go
ahead, do it.

Now, I want you to raise your hands a
little high. When I do that, I'm

taking the ash and I'm putting it on
your palm already. You see that? Now I

close your fist and I go like this so
that you close this fist up, right?

Then I say, take your hand, place it
over your other hand.

All of this is all just presentation.

Take some ash, put it on the back of the
hand, rub it. You're getting warmer.

You feel it getting warmer.

When you do that, people will feel it
getting warmer because I'm rubbing my

finger on your hand.

And then I say, remove your hand. I make
a big thing. I haven't touched you.

Yes. Right.

Open up your hand. And then, bam,
there's the ash right over there.
