So much had happened the past week, it's
still kind of swirling around in a big

mess.

But one thing was clear.

One Soch and Dallas Winston, the
toughest guy in our neighborhood, had

killed.

When Dallas was gunned down by the cops
at the age of 17, nobody was surprised.

We all knew he'd go like that sooner or
later.

Dallas just hated the world too much to
stay very long.

Still... It shook us all up somehow.

I guess we thought he was
indestructible.

Man, was I sick of fighting.

But then Tim Shepard showed up.

Like always, no one knew for sure where
he'd been.

Maybe running from the law.

Maybe running off with a pretty girl.

Crossing the country on the two lanes.

Tim and Dallas had always been friends.

When they couldn't find anybody to
fight, they fought each other.

They were true of a kind and they knew
it.

Now, only one of them was left.

Dallas Winston died violent and young
and desperate.

Just like we knew he would die someday.

Like his friend Dallas, Tim Shepard was
a time bomb waiting to go off.

The only question was where, when, and
how soon.

Those dishes aren't going to do
themselves.

It was Soda's turn, but he got in late.
He said he'd do them this morning.

This place has to be spotless by this
afternoon.
