Mountain, a prearranged meeting place

The Tarvin gang was running with a
bounty on their hands.

Cooper headed southwest for the Paradise
Trail, a new route just open for the

settlers heading west.

They're bound to face the judgment for
the blood that they have. Cooper figured

the Tarvin brothers might be looking for
easy prey along this fresh -cut trail.

Later on, he'd learn his guess was right
on the money.

A day's ride ahead of Hayes Cooper, a
small convoy of wagons was on its last

of a long journey from Pennsylvania to
Utah.

Aboard these five wagons were a group of
Mormon settlers heading west to join

their fellow members who were building a
new settlement in Paradise Lap.

Their leader was John Mason.

Mr. Brazos!

On his first great mission in the
service of the Lord.

How much further than Samson's trading
