My name is Cameron Turner.
16 years ago, my dad was an astronaut on a mission to intercept an asteroid
headed for Earth.
Recently, he disappeared without a trace.
And now weird stuff has begun to happen.
My only clue is a graphic novel he was working on called Mission Dawn.
It's up to me and my friends to use Mission Dawn to uncover the truth and
my dad.
Nevada Military Base, 1996.
My crew and I were about to set out on a mission to intercept an asteroid headed
towards Earth. We had the best scientists working on the mission.
Nothing could go wrong.
World leaders have come together to save Earth. At least, that's what we
thought. The rocket began to war on the Earth.
Roger, Control.
Levels are perfect.
Here goes nothing.
Tunguska, this is Mount Control. How do you feel about that, Bill?
Tunguska is good.
Failure was not an option.
Not with so many lives at stake.
It's an asteroid.
But it wasn't an asteroid.
It is now dawn.
And alone, the sun rises.
Thank you. It's good to be back at the theater, Tom. I appreciate your
support. The mission continues.
But unfortunately, I don't have time for questions.
You, Brady Turner?
Get over here.
We're very excited to have you at the grand opening of the Tunguska 2 mission
exhibit. All around you, you'll find fascinating information about the
From the astronauts, to the technology used, to the asteroid itself.
Now, if you follow me, we'll start by checking out some high -tech space
vehicles. Space is a very partial... Oh, man.
Do you have a copy of Mr. Tunguska number one?
Hand it to me in commission.
There's only like 500 of these left in the world.
Knock it off, Pierce. I got him again.
Pierce Rockwell, will you put the toy away?
Oh, but Miss Ward, I got this at the gift shop.
I'm just trying to enhance the learning experience for everyone.
is the spacesuit of the only survivor of the Tunguska 2 mission, Captain Brady
Turner, who, as you've all seen on the news, mysteriously disappeared two
ago.
Watch out!
Follow me, and I'll tell you more about the heroism of Captain Brady Turner and
his crew.
Check these out.
So cool.
Stay together.
Turner.
Turner, do you read me?
Turner.
Cameron Turner.
Care to join us?
You of all people should be interested in your father's mission.
How does it feel to have a whole exhibit devoted to your dad?
Meteorites are more than just rocks from space.
Certain meteorites contain the blueprints and ingredients for the
galaxies and universes. Question. Do those ingredients contain
life? It most definitely could.
Awesome. Oh, Eureka.
Fascinating. Space is so cool.
Hey, Boris, I feel nerdy just standing near you. You're like some kind of nerd
vortex. Come on, Pierce. Stop it. What will you do if I don't? I'll have to
a star war.
Hey, Boris.
Wow, that was really good. That was really, really good, guys. Tell me, do
have your own brains? Gentlemen, gentlemen.
That's enough.
Mr. Turner, pay attention.
Before a meteorite hits the Earth's atmosphere, it's an asteroid.
Back around the time you all were born, one such asteroid was heading straight
towards Earth.
Captain Brady Turner was put in command of a top -secret international mission
to intercept the asteroid that was on a collision course with Earth.
We see him right here before the mission with his wife, Ruby Turner.
We also see NASA scientist Hugh Condon, who planned the mission.
Dude, your mouth is hot.
I can't believe you just said that. Shh!
The launch went as planned and the astronauts were right on schedule.
This is a shot of the shuttle leaving the Earth's atmosphere and entering
space.
Over here you can see an actual portion of the Tunguska shuttle.
The crew diverted the asteroid, but their ship crashed on reentry.
Captain Brady Turner was the only survivor.
It was a tragic moment, but the mission wasn't in vain.
We're all standing here today because of the bravery of... You're leaving?
It's hard enough, man. My dad's the hero of the end.
Let's go.
Where are you going?
I'm not going to miss this stuff, man. This stuff's cool.
Grab your board.
We could just escape the museum. Sure. Why not?
I can't wait to rock and roll, Steven.
They're not going to believe it, Steven. They're not.
This is a much better ride than the crater.
Yeah.
Shit, dude.
Hey, don't stay in the museum, guys.
Security at 6 o 'clock. What do you want to do?
You can't catch a moving target. Uh,
no worries, I'll get him.
Alright, last one of the dinosaur bites lunch for a week.
You're on.
Dude, stop!
Hey, I can't stop! Oh!
Are you okay? Man, that was crazy.
Scooby, are you okay? Oh, man, you guys are so busted.
Cameron Turner, Boris Valesky.
I need my foot.
Come on, Turner. This kind of behavior is
completely uncalled for.
You know, in my defense, there was no sign that said no skating.
You know...
Cameron, up until just a few short months ago, you were a straight -A
Things change, Principal Chandler. I mean, I'm going through puberty,
hormones. My mind says one thing, my body says another thing. Spare me.
Now, I... No, things haven't been easy for you with your dad gone.
You know, I screwed up, but you don't have to go all psycho shrink on me. I'm
not trying to be a psycho.
I just want to be your pal, your princess.
I feel so much better now.
Thank you, really.
This has been really awesome.
These are delicious, by the way.
Nice one, bro.
Thanks, man.
Hilarious. How'd it go?
Because I got a lecture.
He was all like, you're the rotten core of the apple of the future.
I got the missing dad pity routine.
Dude, did you check your phone yet? I got Pierce back big time. I can't wait
see the look on his face.
Whoa.
Wait,
is that Lucy Condon?
Cameron Turner.
Lucy.
Yeah, like, fancy seeing me here, right?
Lucy.
So, are you bored?
So, are you just passing through? Are you back here for good? Since my
wasn't becoming of an Orion Academy scholar, they kicked me out.
So, here I am.
Lucky you. Where's Wallace Gaya?
You might not recognize me since I've obviously grown way more handsome the
two years. And I'm really glad that, you know, it hasn't gone to your head or
anything.
What's everybody laughing about?
You don't want to see this, Pierce.
You do this, nerd!
Hey, Pierce.
Let him go. Aw, Brady Turner's delinquent son. Saving the planet just
daddy. I said let him go. How about you make up? Why don't you go round up a
couple more of your primates? Make it even. Maybe I will. I trust you
are having a friendly conversation.
We sure are, Mr. Chandler.
This isn't over, Turner.
What's up?
Wow, impressive display of testosterone, but I'm late for algebra, so...
Dude, you're drooling.
Seriously, man.
I mean, come on. You gotta play hard to get sometimes.
Not all Romeo and suave like you.
Oh, hey, Lucy.
Welcome back. I'm totally cool now. Dude, I don't... I don't like that.
Oh, I'm Lucy, and I'm so cool. And I got my curly hair, so just rub it. I don't
want to rub your curls. Dude, I don't want to touch your hair. Oh, baby,
so cool, and I'm so cool.
Let's go out. You spent less time ragging on me and more time working on
your tricks?
Maybe you wouldn't have left out of the museum.
Oh, it's my precious upset.
All right, man. I'm going to grab some food. I'll catch you later. Bye.
See you.
Hey, honey.
Hey, Mom.
I got milk.
Um, didn't ask him.
I just got regular.
Hey, do we have any more of those cheesy, pockety things?
I'm starving.
What's wrong?
Did Mr. Chandler call you?
The police called today about your father. They're closing the
That's ridiculous.
They said the case was cold, that your father's an adult and he can do whatever
he wants.
So they assume he chose to leave his family.
So it's official now?
Brady Turner's just a jerk who abandoned his family and called off the search?
They're right about one thing. We have to move on with our lives.
Yeah, sure.
No, we'll just sweep it all under the rug.
Go on, like, everything's picture perfect. That's, that's great. Cam!
Getting off the regression?
No, I'm fine.
Okay, can we just get past this whole awkward reunion and go back to being
friends? Well, how do I know you're not going to leave again without saying
goodbye?
Okay, sorry.
I know you've gotten a lot of that.
But goodbyes are so maudlin, and you know how much I hate drama.
Yo, you were supposed to meet me at Creator Comics.
The last thing I need right now is to look at comic books.
You look disturbed.
Is everything cool?
They called off the investigation.
Apparently, all leads on my dad have gone cold.
What? Why would they say that?
Because they think he's a deadbeat, wanted to abandon his family, and my mom
seems to agree.
That's crazy!
Oh, and you wouldn't believe that, do you?
What? Are you guys talking about me?
Did I interrupt anything?
Um, who are you again?
Hey, we're going to Creator Comics today. Do you want to come with us?
She nods me.
Seriously, I don't think I can handle those guys right now.
Don't worry, dude.
We're not going to let them bite.
Just maybe lick a little.
Intruder! The life form appears to be carbon -based.
I detect a great power source from within.
Welcome back, Cameron Turner, spawn of Brady Turner.
Just watch where you point that, okay? Can I get you a smoothie?
Fresh fruit?
A foot massage.
I'll take a foot massage. We were talking about Brady Turner just a second
For the blog. Can we interview you again?
Guys, he interviewed me last week. We'd like to stay current.
Now, how does it feel to be the son of a comic book genius?
I mean, Brady Turner's Mission Tunguska comic book series was awesome.
Awesome, because it's true. As an astronaut, he could write about things
actually happened.
Extraterrestrials, FBI, government conspiracies, NASA.
You're almost done, right?
Oh, yeah, sorry.
Listen,
okay? Be cool about Cameron's death.
They just called off the investigation.
They said he ran off.
Dude, I can totally hear you.
Also, thank you for telling them that.
Of course, that's what they said. They didn't want you to know the stuff your
dad was on to.
The government cover -up?
Classified space project? The alien alliances?
Guys, those were comic books.
They're not real.
No, no, no. Mission Tunguska.
was just laying the groundwork for something your old man was working on. A
graphic novel that'll provide the answers.
Rumor has it he called it... Mission Talk.
Guys, my dad was an astronaut, okay? But then he spent years in a basement
writing comic books, and then he bolted.
It doesn't make him a prophet.
Oh, really?
Rumor! have been swirling on message boards, newsletters, conspiracy
conventions.
Some kid in Albuquerque thought it'd be funny to claim he had a copy of Mission
Dawn. Report said he disappeared within 24 hours.
Okay, this has been awesome. I'm gonna beam back down to Earth now.
Cameron, wait.
Please.
That was awesome!
Can I paint one, Dad?
You can't just paint it anyway.
Stars and planets are part of a galaxy.
Can I paint one, Dad?
Okay, but you can't just paint it anyway.
The stars and the planets are part of a galaxy.
They follow a pattern.
Good job, Cam.
Who knows?
Maybe someday you'll get to visit the stars.
Definitely. I want to be an astronaut.
And a professional skateboarder.
Wow. Sounds like you have your plate full.
No big deal. I can handle it.
Mom?
Dad?
He's in that studio!
Where is he?
There's no one in here.
There are no signs of forced entry, and this is the only entrance into your
father's studio.
You say he ran into this room?
Yeah. Are you positive you saw someone?
You sure you weren't sleepwalking?
I wouldn't sleep anything, okay? He was here. He attacked me. Look at my arm.
