frightened her, so she blocked out the

memory of what she saw, along with the
sight that had enabled her to see it.

It would explain, for one thing, why I
found Amy's keys inside the apartment.

I figure Amy unlocked the door, stepped
inside, saw something, backed away,

and took her fall.

She may well have been blind before she
fell.

It also explains the blood on the lamp,
the broken light bulb, and the hurried

attempt to make it look as if nothing
had happened in that room.

So you think she saw Michelle and some
kind of a thing?

I think that Amy saw something terrible
happen to Michelle.

You add it up, Betty. There was a
struggle in the apartment.

He has to make sure.
