On September 7th, inmates Michael Durgum
and Raymond Everett Lockhart escaped

from a Massachusetts state prison.

After commandeering a car, the escapees
managed to break through a hastily

erected roadblock and sped across state
lines.

The car was later found abandoned near
Sanford, Maine.

Control to Unit 6.

Lewis, the owner of the stolen car has
been found near Portsmouth, New

Hampshire. He suffered a concussion.

We found traces of blood in the car.

He wasn't hurt that badly.

One of the subjects must have been
wounded when they broke through the

roadblock.

We've alerted authorities on the
Canadian border in case they try

Has Nelson Leland made any moves yet?

Lewis, there's been a postponement of
Leland's trial since Durgan agreed to be

chief witness.

So Leland will be trying to find him,
and fast.

old friend of his.

the same schools.

They played football together in high
school. They built up quite a reputation

as a passing combination.

Durgum was the quarterback.

Buckfield was the end.

Any word on Lockhart?

The Albany office reports there's been
no sign of him at his old hangouts. And

informants say no one has heard from him
since he and Durgan escaped.

Do you have an address on this
Buckfield?

Agents are trying to locate him now.

I'll alert the Newark office that you're

Street Savings Bank in Manhattan was

held up by a gunman whose description
matches Jack Buckfield.

This is Inspector Erskine. Was he alone?

Witnesses report he arrived alone in a
Newark taxi.

But during the robbery, two men slugged
the taxi driver and pushed him into the

street. They were waiting in the cab for
the robber when he came out of the

bank. They also apparently abandoned the
vehicle they'd been driving.

New Jersey DMV reports it as stolen.

Agents are processing it now.

Mr. Rennett?

I'm Inspector Erskine, FBI. This is
Special Agent Colby.

I wish I'd have met you guys an hour

abandoned their car.

found guilty of kidnapping and were

returned to prison to serve the
remainder of their sentences.

They were also tried and convicted in
federal court of interstate car theft.

Jack Buckfield was convicted in federal
court of bank robbery.

Durgum, Walter Haxby, and Douglas
Shurock were found guilty of assaulting

federal officers.

Victor Orcutt and Douglas Shurock were
convicted of kidnapping.

Nelson Leyland and Walter Haxby were
also convicted in federal court for

conspiracy to obstruct justice.
