placed in the federal building annex.

Police, fire, and disaster units were
immediately dispatched to the area,

arriving just before the bomb exploded.

One person, a building guard, was
seriously injured.

Since the explosion destroyed government
property, the FBI began an immediate

investigation.

We haven't got much to go on. The lab's
only been at it a few hours.

How much dynamite was used?

Six sticks, possibly eight.

Available to anyone?

I'm afraid so.

The lab found bits of alligator skin and
pieces of metal -linked chain, possibly

from a woman's purse.

Big enough to hold a bomb?

This is the note the police found after

but the bomb went off four hours

The lab said it was a very crude device.

The timing mechanism was completely
destroyed, so we don't know whether they

it wrong or decided to move it up
themselves.
