October 18, Border Patrol Inspector John Bonner was rushed to an emergency

hospital near Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho, after being assaulted by two men who had

illegally crossed the U .S.-Canadian border.

A description of the car and license number was forwarded to Washington, to

FBI's National Crime Information Center, where it was discovered that the car

had been stolen three days earlier in Buffalo, New York.

The Bureau's Identification Division received latent fingerprints found on

car registration.

They matched those of longtime courier for La Cosa Nostra, Frank Demersian.

That's the man who was driving.
