Vernon Lucas brought to light the theft

stock certificates from the Chicago
brokerage firm where he was employed.

Now, with Lucas unconscious and unable
to identify his assailant, the FBI,

the direction of Inspector Lewis
Erskine, launched one of its most

investigations of organized crime.

Apparently nobody saw anything unusual.
