Tonight's episode, The Prey.

On May 19th, Mr. Ellis Pearson of
Phoenix, Arizona, was robbed of his $50

rare coin collection and left to die.

But despite his age and illness, Mr.
Pearson managed to call out and solicit

help from his neighbors.

Within hours, the sheriff's office had
forwarded latent fingerprints and other

evidence from the crime scene to FBI
headquarters in Washington.

Descriptions of the thief and the stolen
property were sent to all reputable

dealers in rare coins.

Three days later, a response was
received from the Numismatic Society of

Albuquerque, New Mexico, which had just
been offered the Pearson collection by a

man tentatively identified as Carl S.
Beaumont, one of the FBI's ten most

fugitives. That Albuquerque coin
dealer's description perfectly dovetails

Pearson's description of him.

Is Beaumont all right?

And if he hadn't become suspicious when
that collection was offered to him,

Beaumont would have unloaded the whole
thing and... Been on his way.

He's going to have trouble disposing of
it. He'll probably break it up, get what

he can for it.

You know, he goes after ailing senior
citizens, just like Ellis Pearson.

I wonder how he finds out about things
like Pearson's collection.

Well, he obviously researches his
victims thoroughly.
