-year -old Roger Fry led state police to

lonely beach south of Coquille, Oregon,
and to the body of Mrs. Ann Taylor

Berman, strangled to death less than
five hours after her marriage to a man

calling himself Major Charles Berman,
United States Air Force.

According to the eyewitness, the victim
had been slain by a man in uniform.

Almost at once, two more important clues
were uncovered.

In Mrs. Berman's hand, the officers
found a button and a scrap of cloth.

In her handbag, a telegram which
provided a motive.

Both were sent immediately to the FBI in
Washington.
