minding its own business.

As a chameleon becomes one with its
surroundings, Frederick Wilfred McCone

quickly became part of Clarence, even
though he had been there only a short

time. It was part of his job.

McCone was a communist courier.

His assignment? To purchase documents
relating to United States progress in

defense plans and weapons.

But McCone had not gone unnoticed by the
FBI.

Certain that a contact would be made, he
was placed under 24 -hour surveillance.
