Welcome to the ADNOC onshore
West to East Pipeline Project
HSE awareness on Heat Stress.
Good morning everyone
It's a scorching day here in the UAE
Meet Farkhan
A civil foreman
who has just returned
from two month
vacation in India.
while the climate in india
is currently rainy.
The UAE is experiencing
the peak of summer
with temperatures soaring.
The following day,
Farkhan was required
to attend heat stress
training as mandated
by the
HSE Department.
According to the
HSE department,
strict guidelines,
all employees returning from vacation
must complete this heat stress
awareness session.
Farkhan has a tendency
to overlook safety
rules
and practices,
often neglecting
to adhere to them.
During the training,
he remained disengaged
The instructor
advised Farkhan
to focus during the session.
at the
conclusion of the session.
The instructor
addressed the attendees
with questions,
and Farkhan was unable
to provide any answers.
Consequently, the instructor recommended
him to follow acclimatization procedures
and should reattend the training.
Farkhan agreed and exited the training room
subsequently called his supervisor to inform
that he had successfully completed session
and ready to proceed the site.
Thus he failed to follow acclimatization procedures.
After the training
Farkhan returned to the
camp accommodation.
Before heading to his room.
He visited a nearby
grocery store
where he purchased
carbonated soft drinks
and cigarette
Although he noticed
some fresh fruits,
he chose not to purchase them.
Farkhan directly went to
his bed without
having a bath and dinner.
He spends all the midnight time
with his mobile
videos and chats.
He doesn't pay any attention
to this sleep
and body nutrition,
which is mandatory for
his tomorrow's
healthy works.
Lack of sleep
will reduce the
body's ability
to respond during hot weather.
Employees shall take
a minimum of eight hours sleep
after his daily job.
It is mandatory to drink
plenty of water
before going to the job.
But Farkhan is
not paying any attention
to maintaining
his body's hydration level.
In the morning.
Farkhan is in
a hurry to get ready
as he is always
a last minute person.
Feeling a cough,
he takes some cough sirup
and rushes to the mess hall,
arriving late.
As he enters, his Engineer was
already there
to pick him up.
Farkhan ignores
the Engineer suggestion
to grab
some breakfast
and hastily enters
into the vehicle.(if you want , You can go there)
Let's go.
Oh, no no no no.
seatbelt. Seatbelt? Yes.
Yeah,
yeah.
At the site during the session.
JP noticing Farkhan is absence.
Decides to call him to
attend the meeting.
Farkhan hides inside
the rest shelter.
Scrolling on his phone
Farkhan is wearing headphones,
indicating he is not
interested in listening
to the session.
The site supervisor
assigns
a task
to Farkhan
Afterward, while
the team goes to
collect
drinking water,
Farkhan
remains
on his phone,
neglecting his hydration.
Once the team returns,
Farkhan
gives them instructions
but continues to
focus
on his phone.
When the workers head
to the
rest shelter for a
break,
Farkhan
stays behind,
Opting to smoke and drink
carbonated beverages instead of hydrating.
Some time later
As a consequence of unhealthy life style
Farkhan start to feel he is losing his own control
and collapse to the ground.
Nearby.
Team members notice
and quickly activate
a medical emergency response
An ambulance arrives promptly
and provided the necessary
first aids
The unfortunate incident
