Death Watch, but original enough to
stand or fall on its own terms.

The actors are ex -convicts.

There is a certain voyeuristic interest
in this, but the acting is curious, for

it is clearly amateur where professional
would be expected.

That Weeds finally fails is to be seen
in the insecure dramatic structure.

the curious mixture of musical
extravaganza and social documentary, and

oddly uncertain strength of the author's
message.

Truth may be stranger than fiction, but
it will never be more dramatic.

you invite the San Quentin Workshop to

come here?

seen their play, I have permitted it by

way of an experiment in the hope that
you men seeing these men and knowing

at one time in their former lives they
